Context Trivia / FarCry4

Go To

* AscendedMeme: Some soldiers exclaim "Honey badger don't give a shit!" during the critters' attacks.
* DawsonCasting: In the game, Amita is supposed to be 25, and Sabal, 36. They were voiced, respectively, by 33-year old Janina Gavankar and 45-year old Naveen Andrews.
* DuelingWorks: On consoles, this game competed with the next-gen versions of ''VideoGame/GrandTheftAutoV'', both of them being open-world games released on the exact same day. On other platforms this was averted, the [=PS3=]/360 versions of ''GTAV'' predating ''[=FC4=]'' by over a year and its PC port coming out five months afterward.
* FakeNationality: Creator/TroyBaker, a white American, voices Pagan Min, a half [[FakeBrit British]] Hong Kong Chinese criminal turned despotic warlord. [[spoiler:Also qualifies in-series, since he's also voicing Pagan's body double Eric, who's from Melbourne, so he's American pretending to be FakeAustralian, pretending to be a Fake Brit]].
** FakeBrit: Yogi and Reggie, and by extension, their voice actors, Chad Krowchuk and Bryce Hodgson qualify. Chad and Bryce are both Canadians.
** Creator/NaveenAndrews as Sabal. Although he's approximately the right ethnicity (born to Indian parents), he's an Englishman. And he's NotEvenBotheringWithTheAccent, in contrast to Indian-American Creator/JaninaGavankar as Amita.
** Anglo-Canadian James A. Woods as Kyrati-American Ajay Ghale.
** American Emerson Brooks as Longinus, a priest from a [[{{Bulungi}} fictional]] [[VideoGame/FarCry2 African country]].
** Mylene Dinh-Robinc, a Canadian of Vietnamese heritage, as Dr. Najjar Noore, a Kyrati woman of presumably Arabic descent, as her name indicates.
* HilariousInHindsight: At the end of his final mission, Longinus lists Cuba as one of his possible destination for continuing his mission to recover the blood diamonds. 7 years after ''Far Cry 4'', ''VideoGame/FarCry6'' is released and takes place in an island nation {{Expy}} of Cuba ravaged by civil war much like Kyrat.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** [[http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-09-26-ubisoft-explored-south-america-and-russia-for-far-cry-4 Russian and South American settings]] for the game were considered before Ubisoft went with the Himalayas. Longinus [[DevelopmentGag hints at this]] after completing the last of his missions, suggesting South America as a possible next stop when asked where he'll go now that his work in Kyrat is done.
** Really early into pre-production, Ubisoft considered making ''Far Cry 4'' a direct sequel to ''VideoGame/FarCry3'', following Jason Brody (''Far Cry 3's'' protagonist) ending up in another island setting. This idea was scrapped early on for feeling too much like a complete rehash of ''Far Cry 3''.
