* CowboyBebopAtHisComputer: Some viewers tuning in and familiar with ''WesternAnimation/TheRealGhostbusters'' mistook Eduardo, Garrett and Roland for Peter, Ray and Winston! Plus they wondered why Ray was now in a wheelchair.
* KeepCirculatingTheTapes: The show had only six episodes released on VHS in the United States and didn't have a full DVD release until 2024. Before this, thirteen episodes were been released on DVD overseas but the rest of the series was no where to be found. The only places the series could be found was on Website/YouTube and torrents (though most of the episodes were recordings from when the show was on the European Creator/ToonDisney, so some scenes of horror may be edited). Episodes were posted on the official Ghostbusters channel around the release of Film/GhostbustersAfterlife in 2021. In 2024 the full series on DVD was released on Amazon by Sony and the show can be watched on Creator/{{Hulu}}.
* LicensedGame: Since the show was more popular in Europe than in the US, several video games based on the series were developed there.
** ''Creativity Centre'', a compilation of programs for the PC
** A Platform/GameBoyColor action platformer.
** ''Zap the Ghosts!'', a shameless [[VideoGame/BubbleBobble Bust-A-Move/Puzzle Bobble]] clone for the PC.
** ''Code Ecto-1'', a Platform/GameBoyAdvance action game. This one was released in the USA as well, by Dream Catcher Interactive.
** ''The Ultimate Invasion'', a Platform/PlayStation light gun shooting game which supports Namco's "Gun Con" controller.
** It should be noted that most of these games were released in 2001, long after the series ended. Code Ecto-1 was released in 2002, and The Ultimate Invasion was released in 2004, '''seven years after the series ended and four years after the Platform/PlayStation2 came out'''.
* TheMerch: Trendmasters released action figures and role-play accessories. The most notable of these were the deluxe figures, which featured battery-powered packs with light and sound.
** ToylessToylineCharacter: Garrett was not included in the toyline, although a prototype figure of him exists.
* TheOtherDarrin:
** Neither Laura Summer nor Creator/KathSoucie returned to voice Janine. Her voice actor in this series was Pat Musick.
** Creator/BillyWest took over for Creator/FrankWelker as Slimer, although Welker returned as Ray Stantz.
** While Frank Welker reprises his role as Ray Stantz in the GrandFinale two-parter "Back in the Saddle", some of his lines were actually done by Creator/PatFraley because of Welker being sick at the time those lines were recorded. This is interesting because Creator/PatFraley played another [[WesternAnimation/FilmationsGhostbusters Ghostbuster]].
* RealitySubtext: Maurice [=LaMarche=] had just become a father, and some of his exhaustion found its way into his older, more weary characterization of Egon.
* RecycledScript: It's odd how difficult Egon found it to tell Janine he loves her in the climax of "The Crawler," considering they went through ''the exact same situation'' in the [[WesternAnimation/TheRealGhostbusters original series]] episode "Janine, You've Changed."
* RoleReprise: Not only does Creator/MauriceLaMarche reprise his role as Egon Spengler from ''WesternAnimation/TheRealGhostbusters'', but the two-part episode "Back in the Saddle" also has Creator/FrankWelker, David Coulier, and Buster Jones return to reprise their roles as Ray Stantz, Peter Venkman, and Winston Zeddemore.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen: [[WhatCouldHaveBeen/{{Ghostbusters}} See here]]
* WorkingTitle: In early development, the show was called ''Super Ghostbusters'' which was dropped in early development- so early that the crew working on the show doesn't remember that title, but [[http://www.theraffon.net/~spookcentral/media/egb_original04.jpg early promotional material]][[http://www.theraffon.net/~spookcentral/journal/supergb_ad.jpg proves it was used]]. Although confusingly, In some TV listings, the show was called Ghostbusters Dark.
