* AccidentallyCorrectZoology:
** In several episodes, Spiny is depicted as the main dinosaur best suited to aquatic combat and moving quickly through the water. Come 2014, and fossil evidence that ''Spinosaurus'', the species that Spiny belongs to, may have been semi-aquatic was discovered. By 2020, the discovery of a tail with tall spines that may have formed a large fin only validates this theory.
** ''Megaraptor'' is depicted with feathers on its head, as part of its now-outdated design as a dromaeosaur. Later studies would suggest ''Megaraptor'' and its kin are actually close relatives of tyrannosauroids, therefore it wouldn't be unreasonable to assume they had fur-like feathers left over from their earlier coelurosaur ancestors.
* AdoredByTheNetwork: The Latin American version of Jetix seemed to have a soft spot this series. While not as bad as their two most infamous examples (''Animation/{{Pucca}}'' and ''WesternAnimation/TheFairlyOddParents'') the show did air very often on the channel during the day and it was used as filler during the late night hour block. And like the other series mentioned before, it did survive the Jetix to Disney XD transition from 2009.
* DiedDuringProduction: Creator/MaddieBlaustein, the voice actor of Helga, Dr. Drake, and Spectre, died of a stomach virus while the series was being dubbed, with other actors taking over for the remainder of the show's run.
* KeepCirculatingTheTapes: For a long while, this was the case; only the first 15 episodes had been released to DVD and only the first 10 were ever put on iTunes. Creator/KidsClick, which aired the anime, was discontinued in March 2019 as well. However, efforts to avert this sprung up; the show has not only become watchable on Creator/{{Netflix}} as of February of 2018, Creator/DiscotekMedia announced they got the home video license later that year, albiet only the dub for the time being.
* TheOtherDarrin: Creator/MikePollock took over voicing Helga and Dr. Drake after their original VA, Maddie Blaustein, died. Creator/SeanSchemmel took over for Spectre.
* ScienceMarchesOn:
** The feathering on the deinonychosaurs, which are now thought to have wings and a tail fan.
** ''Seismosaurus'' is now considered to be a synonym for ''Diplodocus''.
** ''Diceratops'' is now considered an invalid genus.
** ''Megaraptor'' as a deinonychosaur, which was disproven in 2003.
** ''Spinosaurus'' is now thought to be an short-legged, aquatic theropod.
** The ''Microraptor'' briefly seen in the show is colored white. Ironically, a closer analysis of the fossils for the real creature reveal that it is colored an iridescent black.
** The ''Utahraptor'' of the franchise is basically a big ''Deinonychus''. Later studies made about the dromaeosaur, showed that it was actually a bulkier and less lithe animal.
* ShesAManInJapan: Some of the genders for the dinosaurs are changed in the English Dub. For example, Acrocanthosaurus, Therizinosaurus, and Euoplocephalus were female dinosaurs in the original Japanese version, but are referred to with male pronouns in the dub. An odd example is Tank the Saichania, who is referred to as a male in her debut episode, but is called a she in all later episodes. The Japanese version always treated Tank as a female.
