----
* ''Anime/DotHackSign'' has BT... Who likes [=BLTs=] without the lettuce, hence her character name. One episode has a whole scene devoted to characters discussing this.
* Cooro from ''Manga/PlusAnima'' adores apples.
** It's not played up as much as [[BigEater Cooro]], but according to the bonus material in Volume 3 the others have their favorites too:
** Senri loves honey.
** Nana loves bread because it reminds her of a warm home (At one point in the manga she screams, "I WANT TO EAT BREAD!").
** Husky doesn't have a favorite food but he prefers fish to red meat.
* ''Anime/AfroSamurai'' has a preference for lemonade. His first drink of it was a high point in his [[HarmfulToMinors generally crappy childhood]].
* Urd and Skuld from ''Manga/AhMyGoddess'' can both recharge their powers via their comfort food of choice: [[GeniusSweetTooth ice cream]] for Skuld, [[HardDrinkingPartyGirl sake]] for Urd. Belldandy loves sodas but avoids it because one sip can [[DrunkOnMilk get her roaring drunk]].
* Hazuki from ''Manga/AmeNochiHare'' enjoys chocolate so much that he will always keep some with him all the time.
* ''Anime/AngelBeats'' has Kanade aka Angel's Mapo Tofu, seemingly the only thing she ever eats. As a bonus, it's a metaphor for her personality. It's painfully spicy at first, but has an unexpectedly delicious aftertaste; just like how Kanade fights the Battlefront for a while, but eventually joins them and turns out to have been trying to help them the whole time.
* Yukari-Sensei from ''Manga/AzumangaDaioh'' REALLY likes Snow crab and Matsusaka beef, so much so that she will beat the shit out of you if you've had it before her.
** In another scene, the characters actually began to ''discuss'' their favorite foods. Chiyo's favorite is meatballs (which got her teased for being a little kid by Tomo), and Tomo's favorite are bananas (which likewise got her labeled an idiot).
* ''Anime/BangDream '': With thirty-five girls to keep track of, this comes into play a few times.
** Moca's favorite food is bread. Any bread. She even claims that as a baby she'd cry if she didn't wear clothes with a bread print on them. She also once dreamed of being a loaf of bread that she herself ate, calling it bliss.
** Tomoe loves, and frequently talks about, pork broth ramen.
** Rimi is often seen munching on chocolate coronets, to the point she once had a dream about becoming one.
** Yukina's favorite are cookies, but specifically cookies made by her lifelong friend, Lisa.
** Hina loves french fries, as does her sister Sayo.
* [[SendInTheClones All variants and incarnations]] of Desty Nova (except the uber-evil Super Nova as of the moment) of ''Manga/BattleAngelAlita'' have an infamous love for flan. It goes to such lengths that Super Nova’s apparent lack of a flan-eating habit has become the indication of his evilness.
* "Spaceburgers" are the only food we ever see Tiny eating on ''Anime/BattleOfThePlanets''.
* ''Manga/{{Bleach}}'':
** Yachiru and Rin are addicted to sweets, which is played up in the anime. They will do anything for sweets, even disrupting important missions or captain meetings to obtain them. Yamamoto has a secret stash he keeps in his rooms at all times; whenever Yachiru turns up, he gives her the bag and she leaves with minimal fuss. In the slice of life stories, Byakuya learns to do this, too.
** Omaeda's introduced in the story walking behind Soifon while he munches on crackers. He's said to be constantly eating them. During the Karakura Town battle, it's revealed that he's the only lieutenant who didn't know Yamamoto's plan. The others are quick to assume that the reason he has no idea is that he was too busy stuffing his face with rice crackers to listen; Soifon encourages this belief because she doesn't want to admit that she actually forgot to tell him the plan. The anime plays this up much more than the manga does, inserting filler scenes of him eating crackers everywhere. Even his zanpakutou spirit gets annoyed by it.
** When Ichigo asks Ginjo why he is carrying ramen with him, the latter simply claims that he loves ramen that much. Ichigo is suspicious about it and doesn't buy what Ginjo is saying, because by that logic, Ichigo would always carry chocolate with him, which he doesn't.
** By contrast, Riruka, who is introduced during the same arc as Ginjo, is very often scene with doughnuts. She and her doughnuts also make it on one of the tankobon covers.
* ''Manga/CaptainTsubasa'' gives us Kojiro Hyuga and his love for Coca-Cola and drinks it despite being soft drinks being bad for a sportsman like him. It also has some FridgeBrilliance into it: he was very poor when he was a kid, and he couldn't afford to drink one and now that he has a regular income and a good part of his goals are secured, he feels like he can allow himself to drink it, becoming somewhat of a ComfortFood for him.
* ''Manga/CaseClosed'':
** Genta always wants eel with rice.
** Also, more than one murder centers [[TamperingWithFoodAndDrink around the victim's favorite food or drink being laced with poison.]] So far some of the poisoned foods/drinks are: lemon tea, chocolate and cream cake, rice balls, soda, cherry pie...
** In another case, a woman wants to find her long-lost FirstLove. One of the few hints she has is that he loved to eat ginger and specially ''gari'', the fresh ginger slices that are often served with sushi... [[spoiler: The boy turns out to be her [[TheButlerDidIt butler]], and she's always known it; one of the tricks she and Conan-as-Kogoro use to make him come forward is serving sushi with ''gari'' strips... guess who is the only one who eats the parts containing ''gari''?]]
** Not exactly a "favorite food", but Ran's father Kogoro prefers ''cheap'' or ''free'' food. He frequently winds up dining at the murderer's/victim's house and getting a free meal before the murder happens. In "Facial Mask Murder Case", he treats the group twice. The first time, it's basically going to a ramen restaurant, and then later after they solve the case, and Ran is skeptical...
--->'''Ran:''' I bet it's just gonna be ramen again.\
'''Kogoro:''' You idiot! As if I'd be that cheap! ''[{{Beat}} as they cheer]'' We'll celebrate with [[https://onthegas.org/food/chashumen cha-suu men]]!
* ''Literature/TheCaseFilesOfJewelerRichard'': Richard loves pudding. So much so that Seigi makes it for him all the time at emotional moments. So much that when Seigi gets the recipe from the woman who first made it for him, he makes it as a gift. Richard is the Sweets Emperor who loves all sorts of sweets, but ''especially his pudding''.
* Aisa from ''Literature/ACertainMagicalIndex'' loooooves burgers.
* Chieri from ''Manga/TheCherryProject'' is seen eating chocolate-covered bananas all the time. Her [[HeIsNotMyBoyfriend not-boyfriend]] comments:
-->"You're [[PunnyName Cherry]] but you like bananas? You're weird."
* C.C. of ''Anime/CodeGeass'' and pizza, but especially [[ProductPlacement Pizza Hut]]. Hell, it's pretty much ''everybody's'' favorite food in the world of ''Anime/CodeGeass''. There is even an attempt of cooking the world's biggest pizza in Episode 21 and another in ''R2'' Episode 5. Support the rebellion! Eat at Pizza Hut!
* ''Anime/CuteHighEarthDefenseClubLove'': Zundar's is snails, given how he's a hedgehog alien and [[WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes Arima despises them]]. Atsushi's is curry which is what his EvilFormerFriend Kinshiro doesn't like (which is extremely plot relevant). En's is a confection found in areas with hot springs, in which the protagonists hang out at a hot spring bathhouse often.
* All the main characters in ''Manga/DGrayMan'' have had their favorite foods listed at one point, but Kanda takes it to the extreme, eating soba noodles for all three meals.
* Miharu from ''VisualNovel/DaCapo'' craves bananas, both in her human and [[RobotGirl robotic form]].
* Subverted in ''Anime/DarkerThanBlack'' with "Burger-kun". He has a remuneration of eating a hamburger after each use of his super speed. He may have liked them before, but now he is just sick of them.
* Ren of ''Manga/DearS'' is utterly addicted to melon bread. To the point she saves old melon bread wrappers for the smell.
* Several characters in ''Manga/DeathNote'' had a special interest in certain foods:
** Ryuk adores apples and [[LostFoodGrievance goes through withdrawals when forced to go without them]]. Since {{shinigami}} don't actually need to eat, apples are more like a drug to them than food. The postscript chapter suggests that all shinigami (or at least the Shinigami King) are the same: [[spoiler: In the main story, he wouldn't give out any more Death Notes because of Ryuk... in the postscript chapter, he'd trade one for a couple apples.]]
** Midora, who gave a Death Note to another human after hearing about Ryuk's time with Light, favors bananas.
** Justified at one point when Ryuk shows Misa what a Shinigami World apple is like - it's withered and tastes like sand. Food from Earth is a ''massive'' change to them.
*** In the [[AllThereInTheManual ''How To Read'' guidebook,]] the author speculates that Ryuk might associate the red of apples with life-blood, which a Shinigami would naturally be driven to consume.
** L has a pronounced sweet tooth and [[GeniusSweetTooth gorges himself on various sweets.]] He burns off the excess calories by ''thinking really hard''. He justifies it to Misa that if you use your brains enough the sugar won't make you fat, but he's probably just messing with her.
** Mello is a chocoholic. In the anime, the snapping sound he makes when biting into a bar of chocolate is practically his Leitmotif. In the manga, [[spoiler:a huge delivery of chocolate is the clincher to pinning down his hideout]].
*** Sidoh, the Shinigami whose Death Note Ryuk stole and dropped on Earth, comes across Mello while looking for it. He takes an instant liking to chocolate and happily tells Mello everything he wants to know about the Death Note in exchange for more.
** [[AllThereInTheManual The Encyclopedia, 13]], says that Light prefers to take Barbecue-Flavored potato chips... [[MemeticMutation AND EAT THEM]]. Since he's the only one in his family to like that flavor, his family would not even try to take that particular bag of potato chips, creating a perfect plan how to murder people with it.
** Based on a manga scene where Matt is in his living room playing video games and surrounded by [[TrashOfTheTitans trash]], it seems Matt has a taste for typical [[VideoGameCulture "gamer grub"]]: potato chips, cheese puffs, soda/energy drinks (or possibly beer).
** In the prequel novel ''Literature/AnotherNote'', Beyond Birthday ''loves'' strawberry jam. So much that he eats it out of the jar... with his hands. He also appears to be fond of coffee.
* Mitsuri Kanroji from ''Manga/DemonSlayerKimetsuNoYaiba'' ''really'' loves sakura mochi. She apparently ate so much of it that her hair turned pink.
* Princess Lapis of ''Manga/DetatokoPrincess'' is addicted to pudding. This need drives the story much of the time, and it's exaggerated to the point where she literally needs it to live and refuses to hurt a golem made out of pudding.
* Karin from ''Anime/DiamondDaydreams'' can't go a day without her beloved cream puffs. Shoko from the same series has a thing for pastrami sandwiches.
* ''Franchise/{{Digimon}}'':
** In a scene early in ''Anime/DigimonAdventure'', the children discuss their favorite things to put on eggs. Mimi grosses everyone out when she explains hers, which changes in various dubs and is never not weird. In Japanese she eats her eggs with natto (a type of fermented soybeans) and sugar; in English, her egg meal involves maple syrup, whipped cream, and a cherry; European Spanish has her eating eggs with sugar and cream; German has sugar, but also has her go for the comparatively mundane grated cheese when she wants her eggs savory; sweet syrup in the Brazilian Portuguese version; and in the South Korean dub, she prefers her eggs with chocolate syrup. In the Japanese version, she reiterates her love for natto in future installments. Aside from that, Mimi loves tuna-mayonnaise rice balls and goes googly-eyed in ''02'' when Miyako gives her some.
** In ''Anime/DigimonAdventure02'', V-mon's favorite food is chocolate, and Hawkmon is absolutely nuts about pickled gourd rolls. Armadimon's favorite is the ohagi Iori's mom makes, but he's just happy to have any food at all.
*** As of ''Anime/DigimonAdventureLastEvolutionKizuna'', Armadimon seems to have developed a taste for food originating from Nagoya; he has a deep Nagoya dialect in Japanese.
** In ''Anime/DigimonTamers'', bread is pretty much Guilmon's favorite. He likes it so much that Takato's parents, who own a bakery, make him special bread that is shaped like his head and name it after him. At least in the dub, he also likes peanut butter a lot. In the dub, Juri/Jeri often brings up cream puffs.
** In ''Anime/DigimonFrontier'', Junpei Shibayama is almost always seen with a chocolate bar in hand.
** ''Anime/DigimonDataSquad's'':
*** Agumon loves Japanese style rolled fried eggs (tamagoyaki), Sayuri's if at all possible. After the GrandFinale, the reason why Agumon wants to return to the Digital World is because now that DATS isn't needed anymore, he would just be a freeloader who does nothing but eat tamagoyaki all day.
*** The BridgeBunnies are fond of manju (though it doesn't come up as much as Agumon and fried eggs.)
** In ''Anime/DigimonFusion'', Shoutmon likes [=DigiNowa,=] a cereal-like snack packed in elongated hexagonal packages; these packages grow in clusters on trees in the Digital World.
** In ''Anime/DigimonUniverseAppMonsters'', Gatchmon's favorite is [=GatchMonaka=] (wafer bars filled with chocolate, though named after a snack that traditionally contains azuki bean paste); Haru Shinkai likes burgers; Yuujin Oozora's is pasta; and Rei Katsura's entire diet seems to consist solely of energy gels.
** In ''Anime/DigimonGhostGame'', Gammamon thinks chocolate is the best thing ever, adding another chocoholic Digimon to the mix.
** In ''Anime/DigimonAdventure02TheBeginning'', Lui's abusive mother says multiple times throughout the movie that Lui's favorite food is hamburger steak. [[spoiler:He doesn't actually like it that much, and the fact that Ukkomon doesn't know this and takes the mother's word for it is part of the proof that he doesn't really know Lui at all]].
* In ''Literature/DirtyPair'', Kei's GuiltyPleasure is cheesecake.
* ''Manga/TheDisastrousLifeOfSaikiK'': The title character has a notable infatuation with coffee jelly, at one point considering buying enough to make a bed out of it.
* ''Manga/{{Doraemon}}'':
** Doraemon and Dorayaki, a Japanese pastry. Pictured above.
** Nobita and the Salisbury steak.
** Shizuka and roasted sweet potato.
** The doraemons also have their own way of eating Dorayaki: Dora the kid eats them with mustard and ketchup, while Dorami prefers melon flavored bread.
* ''Manga/DragonBall'':
** Majin Buu really loves candy. Unfortunately, his main source isn't the candy store, but people, which he turns into various sweets.
** Chaozu's favorite food is tenshindon (crab meat omelette on rice). Tenshinhan's favorite food is Jiaozi (Chinese dumplings). Consider the alternate spellings and pronunciations for those foods.
** Beerus is often associated with pudding, mostly because he tried to destroy Earth when he was denied the experience of tasting it. Since he is based on a cat, he loves fish as well; and thanks to Vegeta, he's got a massive addiction to ramen, due to how variated and practical to make it is.
** Dr Hedo, from ''Anime/DragonBallSuperSuperHero'', has a particular fondness for Oreo cookies. Magenta uses them to help convince him to join his cause, and throughout the film, he's seen devouring them in vast quantities; often accompanied by a glass of milk to dip them in.
** [[SpellMyNameWithAnS Tullece/Turles/Tarles/Tales]] is always seen munching the [[PowerUpFood Fruit of the Tree of Might]] in multiple media.
* ''Manga/DreamEaterMerry'' is also addicted to doughnuts. The first time she bites into one, she declares it the best thing she's ever eaten in her life and calls them "Reality's treasure"... which gives one to wonder what sort of things, exactly, they usually eat in DreamLand. Carbonated drinks of any sort are her [[DoesNotLikeSpam Trademark Least Favorite Food]].
* Ellis and Nadie from ''Anime/ElCazadorDeLaBruja'' loved [[DoubleEntendre tacos]].
* Eliza from ''Literature/ExpectingToFallIntoRuinIAimToBecomeABlacksmith'' has potatoes. This is extremely embarrassing for her, because she’s a high noble and potatoes are peasant food, leading to her claiming her favorite food is chiffon cake, and only talking about potatoes freely if she’s wearing a mask. At one point, she has ImplausibleDeniability denying she was just cooking potatoes with some still left on her face. It turns out all this cooking in secret has made Eliza a SupremeChef.
* In ''Manga/Eyeshield21'', Monta loves bananas, Mamori loves cream puffs, and Hiruma gets pissy if he doesn't have sugarless gum to chew.
* Erza from ''Manga/FairyTail'' loves strawberry cake; when someone makes her drop it or squishes it, [[BerserkButton RUN]].
** Natsu loves anything that's covered in fire. Justified as it's his PowerUpFood.
* It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that TheProtagonist Nanase Haruka in ''Anime/{{Free}}'' does not eat anything but mackerel when left to his own devices.
* Satellizer from ''Manga/{{Freezing}}'' loooooves burgers.
* Tasuki from ''Manga/FushigiYuugi'' loves sake. And he also seems to love peaches.
** Miaka is a BigEater who loves all types of food, but she seems to specially like pork buns.
* Jimsy from ''Anime/FutureBoyConan'' will eat just about anything, but his favorite thing to eat is frogs, when they are on a new island he will ask if there are any frogs to eat, and when he befriends someone he will offer them a frog to eat.
* ''Anime/FutureGPXCyberFormula'':
** Shinsuke Maki is quite fond of sandwiches, as he would make anything into one.
** Most of the characters have their favorite foods described in their profiles: Hayato and curry rice, Asuka and cake, Shinjyo and rice balls (particularly Miki's rice balls), Osamu and Asuka's cooking (which is rather odd as Asuka's a LethalChef), Miki and rice, tea and rice crackers, Kyoko and Italian cuisine, Henri and all kinds of sweets and pastries, Clair and pie, Gudelhian and ice cream and almost all Japanese food, Heinel and kaiseki (traditional Japanese multi-course meals), Bootsvorz and anything spicy and super-sweet, Phill and his caregiver´s cooking, Leon and his mother´s stew, Marie and fish and vegetables.
* In ''Anime/GalaxyAngel'', Millefeuille loves pastries and sweets in general, Ranpha loves anything that's extremely spicy ([[LethalChef And the others dread allowing her to cook]]), Mint adores junk foods such as potato chips and jelly beans, Forte has a soft spot for Oden stew, and Vanilla will eat just about everything (Including making a literal ChewToy of Normad when starving) but prefers vegetarian dishes.
* ''Literature/TheGardenOfSinners'': Ryougi Shiki has bottled water of all things as her favorite drink, as it's the only thing we ever see in her fridge. She's also very much associated with strawberry Häagen-Dazs ice cream, even though her male personality, SHIKI, loathes it. As she comes to terms with his loss, however, this becomes Shiki's favourite snack.
* Only in ''Manga/{{Gintama}}'' can a character consume revolting quantities of mayonnaise and still be badass. Hijikata's lighter is even shaped like a mayo bottle.
** Also, Okita's sister Mitsuba loves super spicy crackers. Considering ''Manga/{{Gintama}}'' is a GagSeries, this particular gag was used very effectively for humor and [[TearJerker drama]].
** Kagura and her sukonbu (pickled seaweed).
** Yamazaki and anpan. Though he doesn't actually like it, due to eating nothing but anpan and milk for weeks on end as a part of his stakeout ritual.
** Sa-chan and natto (fermented soybeans. They look icky), to the point of being named the "natto ninja" in one chapter.
** Don't forget the protagonist himself; Gintoki and chocolate parfaits, strawberry milk, and pretty much [[SweetTooth any sweets]]. To the point that his parallel to Hijikata's Special consists of red bean paste on rice.
** Nobume and her doughnuts especially Pon De ring, to the point that it was used to bribe her by Isaburo Sasaki. [[Main/BerserkButton Just DON'T let her see you eat that kind of donut.]]
** It doesn't come up as often as with the others characters, but Tae is a fan of [[BlandNameProduct Bargain Dash]] ice cream.
* ''Anime/GirlsUndPanzer'':
** [[StudentCouncilPresident Anzu]] regularly munches on sweet dried potatoes.
** The entirety of Anzio High School cannot get enough of pasta. In [[Anime/GirlsUndPanzerDerFilm the film]], Anzu gets Anchovy, Carpaccio and Pepperoni out of a small funk and get them to use their CV 33 [[{{Ramprovisation}} as a ramp]] [[FoodAsBribe by promising to make them potato pasta after the match]]. In ''Motto Love Love Sakusen Desu'', they even manage to deplete the Oarai school ship's entire pasta supply in ''one day''!
** [[Anime/GirlsUndPanzerDasFinale Marie]] from BC Freedom Academy is never seen without cake to eat, even in the middle of a tank match.
* Yuki of ''Manga/GourmetGirlGraffiti'' sees pizza as her personal ComfortFood, and has eaten ''literally nothing'' but pizza for ''three whole weeks''.
* ''Literature/GroundControlToPsychoelectricGirl'': We have another female pizza lover, and her name is Erio Touwa.
* Bob Poundmax in ''VideoGame/{{Gungrave}}'' loves fried chicken drumsticks. It's very rare for him to be seen without a chicken drumstick in his hand. Although he doesn't so much as ''chew'' the drumsticks as he just ''[[JabbaTableManners inhales them by the bucketful]]''. A SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome ensues - his eating habits render him seriously obese, and he's ultimately given an EmergencyTransformation into a Superior when he suffers an obesity-related blood clot in his brain.
* ''Manga/GugureKokkurisan'''s Kohina loves her instant noodles, and her love for them is often used by the other characters to bribe her.
* In ''Anime/HandMaidMay'', Cyberdoll Sara loves ramen and all of the humans seem to love milk.
* ''Webcomic/HetaliaAxisPowers'' - which is based on the idea of each country being an actual person - is filled with this trope. Closely related to HollywoodCuisine.
** North Italy: [[Memes/HetaliaAxisPowers PASTAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!]]
** Germany: Wurst and potatoes. Also beer, which is also Prussia's favorite drink.
** Japan: Sushi
*** His female counterpart seems to prefer [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dango dango sticks]]
** America: Hamburgers
*** His female counterpart is often seen with hotdogs.
** England: Scones
** Russia: ''[[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pirozhki Pirozhki]]''
** Finland: Salmiakki (salty licorice candy)
** Sweden: Surströmming (fermented herring)
** Canada: Maple syrup on everything
** Cuba: Ice cream (Though it may be noted that Canada and America like ice cream, too.)
** South Italy and Spain: Tomatoes and churros
** South Korea: [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kimchi Kimchi]]
*** His female counterpart is often portrayed with carrots, but she also seems to like kimchi.
** Denmark: Not stated directly, but hinted to be beer.
** Belgium: Waffles and chocolate.
** Poland: Paluzki, among other polish snacks.
** Austria: Cake.
** Hong Kong: Judging from a chibi image, pork buns. Implied during one of his image songs, mango pudding as well.
** Bulgaria: Yogurt, according to ''Manga/HetaliaBloodbath2011''
** Turkey: [[SweetTooth Anything sweet]], but specially [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ashure Ashure pudding.]]
** Taiwan: Tofu, according to her ImageSong.
* ''VisualNovel/HigurashiWhenTheyCry'':
** Chie, Ciel's {{Expy}}, adores curry. [[BerserkButton Don't you dare disgrace curry by stuffing it in your speedo]].
** Never, ever [[http://mymangalist.net/chapter/higurashi-no-naku-koro-ni-tatarigoroshi/2/25 insult]] [[http://mymangalist.net/chapter/higurashi-no-naku-koro-ni-tatarigoroshi/2/30 curry]] in Hinamizawa.
** Cream puffs for Hanyuu.
** Keiichi is apparently fond of ginger-pork flavored ramen.
* ''Manga/HoloearthChroniclesSideEYamatoPhantasia'': In ''Yamato Phantasia'' Fubuki gets distracted by the in-game depiction of Fox's Delight Udon, specifically instant noodle one. In the "Just Another Day at Mizore's Kitchen" story Fubuki and Mio order Fox's Delight Udon and Chicken Tail Special respectively despite Mizore asking to try something else for once.
* ''Manga/HoshinEngi'': Taikobo is particularly fond of peaches, and is often seen eating one when laying back.
* ''Manga/HunterXHunter'': Killua and his ''Chocorobo-kun'' (chocolate robots).
* In ''Manga/InuYasha'' Shippo likes candy, particularly lollipops. Inuyasha himself seems to have a fondness for Ramen Instant Noodles in the anime, which the fandom exaggerates to addiction. Both were introduced to said foods by Kagome, who brings them from home on a regular basis.
* In ''Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure'':
** In ''Manga/GoldenWind'', Guido Mista's Stand, Sex Pistols, loves Tuscan salami. The Pistols are sometimes seen begging Mista for some, or fighting over it when they do get a slice.
** The ill-tempered Iggy can only be placated by coffee-flavored chewing gum, which he is constantly seen chewing. This is a bit unusual, considering Iggy is a [[MisterMuffykins Boston Terrier]] and [[CanineConfusion caffeine is toxic to dogs]].
** Yasuho Hirose and Josuke Higashikata, from ''Manga/JoJolion'', are both very fond of sesame honey dumplings. Josuke always bites them with his front tooth, much to the amusement of Yasuho.
* Reiko from ''Kaasan: Mom's Life'' loves crabs so much that she eats them as a midnight snack behind her family's back and refuses to let her children eat any. She even gets berated by her mother for her obsession with crabs.
* Erika from ''Manga/KaguyaSamaLoveIsWar'' is a big fan of anything with miso in it, owing to her family owning [[BlandNameProduct the in-universe equivalent]] of Japan's largest miso producer. This extends beyond simply eating the stuff, as her idea of stress management is to grind miso paste, and her first childhood crush was her company's mascot.
* Tomoe from ''Manga/KamisamaKiss'' loves sasamochi.
* As became the focus in one ''Newtype'' article during the remake's airing, each of the five main girls of ''VisualNovel/{{Kanon}}'' has a favorite food associated with her:
** Ayu: Taiyaki - to the point of ''stealing'' it, although she is usually regretful about that.
** Nayuki: Strawberries (especially [[SupremeChef her mom's]] strawberry jam... not to be confused with [[GargleBlaster the other flavour]]).
** Shiori: Ice cream.
** Makoto: Pork buns.
** Mai: Beef bowls.
* ''Manga/{{Kekkaishi}}'''s Yoshimori has a SweetTooth and loves to bake his own cakes.
* ''Anime/KillLaKill'': Ryuko and Mako eat Suyuko's (Mako's mother) croquettes (Made of mystery things that are deep-fried in mashed potatoes, yet ''somehow'' it's never poisoned cooking - it seems she's ''that'' much of a SupremeChef) every day. Satsuki, on the other hand, likes to drink bitter tea. [[spoiler:Turns out they go together very well, and it's a veeeery slight foreshadowing of how Ryuko and Satsuki are long-lost sisters]].
* In ''Manga/KimiNiTodoke'', Chizuru Yoshida's affection for her childhood friend Ryu Sanada led her to spend much of her youth at his family's ramen shop, to the point that she jokingly says she might want to "be a ramen" when she grows up.
* Even ExtremeOmnivore VideoGame/{{Kirby}} has a favorite food in ''Anime/KirbyRightBackAtYa'': watermelons. Though this is probably because of the size and shape rather than the taste, seeing as how he [[BigEater swallows them whole]].
* Sushi is one of the three things that Akito from ''Manga/{{Kodocha}}'' doesn't hate (the other two things are dinosaurs and [[ShipTease Sana]]).
* Yayoi Asuka of ''Manga/KoiKoi7'' and crab bread. Since she's TheDitz, this makes it even easier to distract her with the food.
* Bamboo shoots is the favorite food of Sei from ''VisualNovel/KoihimeMusou.'' It's almost taken to insane levels about her obsession with bamboo shoots. For example, don't [[BerserkButton insult bamboo shoots]], or eat spoiled ones without asking, or YOU WILL PAY!
* Kurosaki of ''Manga/{{Kurosagi}}'' is constantly seen [[SweetTooth sucking on a lollipop.]]
* Ferris Eris of ''Literature/TheLegendOfTheLegendaryHeroes'' really loves dango (a type of Japanese dumpling). She asks for them as payment from Sion to help track down the person trying to kill him, and later (earlier from the audience's perspective since that happened in a flashback) refers to him as a "devil" for not paying up.
* The title character in ''Anime/ALittleSnowFairySugar'' loves waffles. In fact, her CatchPhrase is "Waffo!", which is her mispronunciation of the food's name.
* ''Manga/LuckyStar'':
** Konata Izumi and chocolate cornets.
** Also, [[AdaptationExpansion in the anime]] Tsukasa has a strange obsession with balsamic vinegar, which led on to a MemeticMutation of sorts. ''Barusamikosu!''
** Konata likes to flanderize Pocky as Kagami's TrademarkFavoriteFood.
* ''Franchise/LupinIII'' has Goemon who usually refuses to eat anything other than Japanese cuisine and the only alcohol he will drink is sake.
* ''Franchise/LyricalNanoha's'' Vivio loves her caramel milk. It even gets a special mention in her [[http://nanoha.com/archive3/character/vivio.html character page]]. Also, Admiral Lindy and green tea... [[FeeFiFauxPas with two lumps of sugar and milk]].
* ''Anime/MacrossDelta'':
** Freyja loves apples, particularly Windermerian apples. Explained as a consequence of her family owning an apple orchard back on Windermere.
** Reina is ''very'' fond of Ragnan jellyfish.
* ''Anime/{{Madlax}}'': "Yeah... pasta!"
* Mash Burnedead from ''Manga/MashleMagicAndMuscles'' loves cream puffs, to absolutely hilarious degrees. It seems he keeps at least one in his robes for snacking at all times.
* ''Manga/MayonakaNiKiss'': Kazuomi Ichijou was seen eating Marshmallows in his first appearance and gave the impression of being addicted to them.
* In ''Anime/MegaManNTWarrior2002'', main character [[BigEater Lan/Netto]]'s favorite food is curry. This is made story and character-relevant to the point that the WWW uses it to lure him into a trap in an early episode where they were attempting to gain the ultimate curry recipe and needed his help to do it... and succeeded. However, this is an odd case, as despite many episodes gushing over his adoration for the foodstuff... due to characterization conflicts caused by differing writers on the staff, there are episodes where Lan/Netto is depicted as actually ''hating'' curry and anything curry-adjacent, and his pursuit of any other foodstuff causing their plots to then roll {{Idiot Ball}}s. Unsurprisingly, the writers culpable for this baffling character derailment are also the ones responsible for putting in people's heads the idea that he's an IdiotHero despite Lan/Netto spending a fair chunk of the series being the deadpan straight man towards the insanity around him.
** Also of note is Yai/Yaito's love for Strawberry Milk.
* Lucia Nanami of ''Manga/MermaidMelodyPichiPichiPitch'', being a [[OurMermaidsAreDifferent mermaid]], should not surprise you by liking shrimp. Hanon and Rina prefer cheesecake and vegetarian food, respectively.
* There are quite a few in ''Anime/BeybladeMetalFusion'': Gingka and hamburgers, Yuu and ice cream, Tobio and his ever-present blue lollipop, Masamune and those spicy sticks he's always munching on...
* The fairies from ''Manga/MirumoDePon!'' They're all pretty much tied to their favorite snacks, especially Mirumo and Murumo, to the point were all you need to do to get them to do what you want is offer them a large enough amount of the treat in question. Mirumo and chocolate, Murumo and marshmallows, Rirumu and cream puffs, Yashichi and karintou. Although Yashichi is known more for his penchant for panties than his choice snack, come to think of it.
* ''Manga/MissKoizumiLovesRamenNoodles'': [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin 'Nuff said]]. ''[[SkewedPriorities All.]] [[BizarreTasteInFood Kinds.]]''
* Tenma in ''Manga/{{Monster}}'' loves soy sauce, as {{lampshaded}} by Heckel.
* ''Literature/MonsterGirlDoctor'':

* ''Manga/MoriartyThePatriot'': Billy loves fruit so much Sherlock can guess he has a sweet tooth and he brings fruit for Billy when they're meeting for a dinner party. He even goes immediately for Sherlock and William's fruit bowl when he visits their home for the first time.
* ''Manga/MukaMukaParadise'': Muka Muka loves blueberry jam.
* ''Manga/MyHeroAcademia'':
** Protagonist Izuku Midoriya loves katsudon, or fried pork cutlet over rice with other toppings, and is seen eating it in almost every cafeteria scene.
** Shoto Todoroki enjoys soba noodles and can usually be seen slurping them in the same cafeteria scenes.
** Yuga Aoyama is obsessed with cheese, to the point of suggesting that Izuku's nightmares ([[spoiler: The result of One for All preparing to unleash its true power]]) are caused by cheese deficiency.
** It's been shown that Ochaco Uraraka's favorite snack is mochi. It's been mentioned between chapters but only mentioned in the anime once in the credits scene after the Sports Festival. The first light novel takes further with she, Tsuyu, and Momo trying to buy as much mochi as they can get.
** Fat Gum, a pro hero from Osaka, can often be seen eating takoyaki by the trayful. It helps that his Quirk, [[{{Kevlard}} Fat Absorption]], benefits from him being such a BigEater.
* Suzu of ''Manga/NagasareteAirantou'' ''[[AttentionDeficitOohShiny REAAAAALLLLY]]'' [[BerserkButton likes]] Mame Daifuku.
* ''Manga/{{Naruto}}'':
** Naruto loves [[MundaneLuxury ramen]] in all of its many, varied and wonderful forms and one of the main foods he eats. [[FridgeBrilliance Part of this love may stem from]] [[BecauseYouWereNiceToMe the fact that Ichiraku's Teuchi and Ayame were the first to show him kindness and provide him the feeling of a home.]] This was confirmed in ''[[Literature/KonohaHidenThePerfectDayForAWedding Konoha Hiden]]''.
** His son, ''Manga/{{Boruto}}'', on the other hand, has a taste for burgers, to the point where he would rush to get a limited edition green chili hamburger, on the last day it would be sold, and would sometimes carry burger discount coupons. He notes that his favorite dish are yakisoba buns, however.
** Choji loves barbecue, chips, and [[BreadEggsBreadedEggs barbecue chips]].
** Rock Lee is inordinately fond of spicy curry.

** Anko loves Dango so much that in one of the videogames, there's a mission where she ''goes into withdrawal'' and asks you to get her some. [[spoiler:[[SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome It comes back to bite her in the finale]], where she has become chubby.]]
** Sea Salt Ice Cream. The trend first started with Jiraiya and then it was employed by Iruka, both to cheer Naruto out of a funk.
* ''Manga/NegimaMagisterNegiMagi'':
** Yue Ayase likes odd and unusual beverages and is almost never shown drinking the same one twice. [[PottyEmergency Might explain why she once was so desperate to go to the bathroom...]]
** Negi, being from the UK, is [[BritsLoveTea quite fond of tea.]] When he and Fate were attempting to negotiate instead of directly fight, things flew into a bout of PassiveAggressiveKombat over how each of them take it.
** Fate is particularly fond of coffee and is usually drinking some when he has a moment to himself.
* Churuya of ''Manga/NyoronChuruyaSan'': Smoked cheese, nyoro~n!
* The favorite food of Doremi from ''Anime/OjamajoDoremi'' is steak, and one of her image songs was even about her love of steaks. Unfortunately for her, it's a RunningGag that someone always eats her share of steak on the rare occasions it's served at the Harukazes' home, so she's only ever actually had a single bite of steak onscreen. There's also Aiko's more understated love for takoyaki, and in ''Motto'', Hana-chan has a SweetTooth for pudding.
** Also Momoko with her strawberry tart sweetness and sourness.
* Several characters in ''Anime/{{Ojarumaru}}'' have a food or drink they especially like:
** Ojarumaru himself ''loves'' eating pudding.
** Denbo seems fond of onigiri.
** Kin-chan loves eating lollipops.
** Makoto loves drinking beer.
** Usui loves drinking tea.
* Thoth from ''Anime/OhSuddenlyEgyptianGod'' has eggs as his favorite food. He will often request to add eggs to his phone orders of pizza and koshary, and he seems really interested in the idea of eggs cooked in hot springs.
* Eiichiro Oda, in his SBS Question Corner, once listed each main ''Franchise/OnePiece'' character's favorite food:
** Monkey D. Luffy -- Meat. To the point that when he prepares to take back everything that was stolen from them on Thriller Bark, he prioritizes them as "meat, Nami, and shadows". This did not go unlampshaded. The ''One Piece-Manga/{{Toriko}}'' crossover shows that Luffy's perfect meal consists entirely of meat -- including the dessert and the beverage.
** Roronoa Zoro -- White rice, sea king meat, and anything that compliments ale.
** Nami -- Mainly oranges as well as other kinds of fruit.
** Usopp -- Pike from an autumn island as well as other fish of the season, hates mushrooms.
** Sanji -- Spicy seafood pasta and food that compliments black tea.
** Tony Tony Chopper -- Cotton candy, chocolate, and [[SweetTooth other sweet food and drink]].
** Nico Robin -- Sandwiches, cakes that aren't too sweet, and food that complements coffee.
** Franky -- Hamburgers, french fries, and food that complements cola.
** Brook -- Tea, takoyaki, and curry.
** Jimbei -- Vinegared mozuku seaweed and fruits.
** GuestStarPartyMember Vivi -- Curry and pudding.
** HonoraryTrueCompanion Trafalgar Law -- Grilled fish and onigiri.
** Sanji has a habit of making everyone's favorite food subconsciously. When he makes a bento for Pudding, he realizes too late that he has made too much and it only contains the favorite food of all of his crewmates.
** Outside of the Straw Hats, BigBad and EvilCounterpart Marshal D. Teach (Blackbeard) is as fond of cherry pie as Luffy is with meat. [[{{Foreshadowing}} This was used in the scene where they met each other]]: they were at the same restaurant and each ordered a beverage and a slice of pie. Luffy hated the pie while Blackbeard loved it. Then when they gulped the beverage, it was reverse. Then, they tried to out-order one another regarding their favorite food before they nearly started a ''fight''.
** Still outside the Straw Hats, Donquixote Doflamingo's favorite food is lobsters, according to the Volume 82 SBS.
** An important PlotPoint in the Dressrosa Arc was Sugar's love of grapes, which she often ate off her fingers. Usopp and Robin tried giving her one that was laced with [[BlazingInfernoHellfireSauce Tatababasco]] thinking the mega-spicy grape would knock her out, [[GenreSavvy but she was wise to them]] (well, she assumed it was poisoned), and force-fed it to Usopp. However, the intensity of the spiciness caused Usopp to make one of the largest [[TimeForPlanB horrific, anguish-induced faces]] ever, [[HoistByTheirOwnPetard to the extent that it terrified Sugar into]] '''[[HoistByTheirOwnPetard unconsciousness.]]''' Even after she recovered, she retained a fear of this and of long noses (which Usopp ''weaponized'', by attaching a drawing of him making said face to some ammo)
** Carrot from the Yonko Saga is nuts about the vegetable she's named after [[StockAnimalDiet (being a rabbit-girl and all)]] so much that the provisions she prepared for the White Cake Island trip consisted of nothing but carrots. She [[GirlsLoveChocolate also loves chocolate]].
** Charlotte Linlin, better known as Big Mom, loves sweets more than anything. She literally goes insane for semla (a type of Nordic sweet roll stuffed with whipped cream and almond paste) and wedding cakes, and the results are not pretty.
** Charolette Katakuri, one of Big Mom's children, loves doughnuts. It's a GuiltyPleasure of his to spend some time every day gorging himself on doughnuts in private.
** Kaido's subordinate Queen enjoys oshiruko, a Japanese sweet bean porridge. Just the suggestion of someone eating his oshiruko is enough to make him pick a fight with ''Big Mom'' of all people.
** Jewelry Bonney is a BigEater just like Luffy, but where Luffy prefers meat, her favorite food is pizza. She even named her pirate ship after it, and her Jolly Roger features a pizza with a giant bite taken out of it behind the skull.
* The eponymous character from ''Anime/OruchubanEbichu'' loves camembert cheese, syrup, ramen, and ice cream... whenever she can get them.
* ''Manga/OuranHighSchoolHostClub'':
** Honey eats [[SweetTooth so much cake]] that his brother thinks he's an alien.
** Also, though she never gets to have any, Haruhi's longing for fancy tuna is a minor RunningGag.The gag went as far as Tamaki buying her an ootoro-shaped ring during New Year's!
** Tamaki also has a well-known love of commoner's food and never turns down the chance to try some. The character pages at the end of Volume 1 state each character's favorite foods.
** Also, Kuze and his oranges. Especially the peel.
* Alice in ''Manga/PandoraHearts'' loves meat.
* The tenth episode of the ''Anime/PaRappaTheRapper'' anime introduces a baseball player named Schmidt who ''really'' likes eating bananas.
* ''Anime/{{Penguindrum}}'' has Ringo and curry. [[spoiler:There's another reason behind it, though.]]
* ''Literature/ThePetGirlOfSakurasou'': Mashiro has Baumkuchen, and Ryuunosuke has tomatoes.
* Half-alien teacher Mizuho Kazami of ''Anime/PleaseTeacher'' eats pocky (or, actually, the similarly-named-but-not-trademark-infringing "Pochy") because it reminds her of her father, who was human. In the sequel ''Anime/PleaseTwins'', Miina Miyafuji has a similar attachment to Pretz (or, as it's called in the show, "Prech"), though her preference isn't similarly explained.
* In the manga ''Manga/PlusSizedElf'', [[HughMann Elfuda]] is a forest elf from AnotherDimension who's obsessed with french fries, calling them "a gift from God". Unfortunately, because of the way the portal between her world and the human world works, she needs to lose weight from her constant fast-food binges before she can go home again. Her aunt develops a similar obsession with ice cream.
* ''Anime/PokemonTheSeries'':
** In one episode of the anime, Pikachu [[LostFoodGrievance was crushed when a Scyther slashed apart a bottle of ketchup that he was eating out of]]. It was subtly shown again, early in the Hoenn saga. In a small throwaway scene Pikachu can be seen holding a bottle of ketchup ''again'', and this time it looked like he was sucking at the contents ''with a straw''. His love for ketchup hasn't been forgotten in the Kalos saga. The second main ending in ''[=XY&Z=]'' even has a Pikachu song that is literally called ''Pikachu no Uta'' and it features giant bottles of ketchup, leading to the emergence of a ''ketchup bottle tree''.
** Pikachu also seems to like apples.
** Emolga (specifically, Iris'), will do ''anything'' to get some apples for herself, [[BigEater and usually by the bushel]].
** Thanks to Max, chocolate has become the TrademarkFavoriteFood of Lucario when he gave the FishOutOfTemporalWater Lucario his first chocolate bar during the eighth movie. This was referenced in a later Diamond and Pearl episode, where Jessie tried bribing Maylene's Lucario to join them with a chocolate bar.
** Ash really enjoys hamburgers (at least in the English dub), they're usually the first thing he wants when he comes across a new town. He also will never turn down ice cream, as expected with a ten-year-old. [[BigEater It's really very hard to find a food that Ash doesn't like.]] As for the original, his favorite food is croquettes, confirmed by Cilan in Best Wishes!/Black & White, which would continue in Sun & Moon and Journeys.
** May, who is an even worse BigEater in regards to Ash, has a strong affinity for Tonkotsu Ramen, to the point where she eats her entire weight in them (29 bowls!) in her ending song.
** Victini in the fifteenth movie has a deep love for macarons, to the point of it being willing to risk being seen in its invisible form just to obtain and eat them. [[spoiler:In fact, Ash throwing macarons at the sea he'd promised to take it to after its [[DisneyDeath supposed]] HeroicSacrifice was what prompted Victini to reveal it was NotQuiteDead.]]
* The eponymous Ponyo from ''Anime/PonyoOnTheCliffByTheSea'' loves ham.
* Kedamono from ''Anime/PopeeThePerformer'' would do anything for a chicken drumstick, with it being used by Popee to bait him into dangerous stunts multiple times.
* ''Anime/PrettyCure'':
** Each of the mascot characters in ''Anime/YesPrettyCure5'' has a different favorite snack. Coco likes choux a la creme, Nuts likes mamedaifuku (which can be sold at his girlfriend's family's store; this is made out to be [[SeriousBusiness a sign that they're destined]]), Milk likes chocolate, and Syrup likes (appropriately enough) pancakes.
** ''Anime/FreshPrecure'': Doughnuts is the favorite snack of the main characters and their mascot Tart. Kaoru-chan, the one who sells them doughnuts basically every day, is a prominent character because of it. In the GrandFinale, Tart manages to turn the tables to the Precures' favor by bringing the citizens of Labyrinth the joy of doughnuts.
** Speaking of pancakes, they are also the favorite of Hime in ''Anime/HappinessChargePrettyCure'' as well as Yuko's homemade candies.
** Doughnuts are Kirara's favorite food in ''Anime/GoPrincessPrettyCure''.
* Shiho from ''Manga/PsychicSquad'' is seen consuming pocky at least once per episode.
* Although it doesn't come up in the series proper ([[http://wiki.puella-magi.net/Runes:Episode_3 barring some]] {{Bilingual|Bonus}} FreezeFrameBonus) [[AllThereInTheManual secondary materials]] state that [[KnightOfCerebus Charlotte]] of ''Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagica'' loves cheese, despite having the power to make as many sweets as she wants. Within fanworks, where she is [[EnsembleDarkhorse quite popular]], this is used to its fullest.
** In the newest movie, Bebe [[spoiler: aka Nagisa aka Charlotte]] is either munching on cheese, asking for cheese, chewing on something yellow she thought was cheese or stating how much she loves cheese.
** In the CompilationMovie, Charlotte was given her own {{Leitmotif}}, "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-j38ZeqBJzA wo ist die Käse?]]", which is GratuitousGerman for "Where is the cheese?"
** Though Kyouko is [[BigEater basically an omnivore when it comes to junk food]], pocky (or [[BlandNameProduct rocky]], as the case may be) seems to have become her signature snack. Most art, both fan and official, depicts her [[OralFixation with a stick between her teeth.]] [[{{Symbolism}} Apples]] and [[OurMermaidsAreDifferent fish cake]], for their symbolic importance, seem to be just behind.
** And, of course, we can't forget Mami and cake, but only because it goes well with tea.
* Anime/PrincessDiana: Diana Spencer loves cream puffs, and her caretaker at the boarding school cheers her up with some.
* ''Manga/RamenFighterMiki'': Kayahara-sensei, a really depressed teacher who resembles a StringyHairedGhostGirl, loves eating ramen. It's the only thing that makes her smile in a non-creepy way. Deconstructed into an eating disorder: Kayahara Sensei is a SaveOurStudents teacher that really wants to help... except when she is eating ramen... [[DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything then she cares about nothing]].
* Plue from ''Manga/RaveMaster'' and sweets, with lollipops being the highest on his list.
* Brunhilde from ''Manga/RecordOfRagnarok'' loves her special order salmiak liquorice pies.
* ''Anime/ReCutieHoney'':
** Onigiri for Honey.
** In OVA 2, Natsuko reveals that hers in sea cucumber in oyster sauce.
* ''Literature/RestaurantToAnotherWorld'' is a story about a restaurant serving various high-quality meals to a MedievalEuropeanFantasy alternate world, so it understandably has ''everybody'' that eats there get a favorite food. This story in particular takes the "trademark" park to the extreme, as not only do the customers rarely deviate from their favorite (which is always the first thing ever served to them), each and every one uses said food as an InSeriesNickname.
* Sage/Seiji of ''Anime/RoninWarriors'' is sometimes heard mumbling about wanting to eat pumpkin during group songs. It [[MemeticMutation shows up in doujin and art books]] with some regularity.
* In ''Manga/RosarioPlusVampire'', we have Kurumu Kurono and cookies. She loves them so much that she cannot resist eating her own ''poisoned'' cookies.
* In ''Franchise/SailorMoon'' All of the senshi have a favorite food (listed in their character profiles, but they don't show up in the [[Manga/SailorMoon manga]] or [[Anime/SailorMoon anime]]):
** Moon/Usagi loves sweets (like cake and ice cream) so much, she even lists it as ''a hobby''. This is the only one that regularly gets mentioned in the manga.
** Chibi-Moon/Chibiusa loves Pudding and Pancakes.
** Mercury/Ami loves Sandwiches (because she can eat one with a hand while holding a book in the other) and anmitsu (A Japanese Dessert).
** Mars/Rei loves Fugu (a blowfish that is highly toxic and considered a delicacy in Japan).
** Jupiter/Makoto loves All foods, cherry pie and meatloaf in particular.
** Venus/Minako likes curry rice and ramen.
** Uranus/Haruka: Salad.
** Neptune/Michiru: Sashimi (A type of Raw fish often confused for sushi in the west).
** Saturn/Hotaru: Soba (buckwheat) noodles.
* ''Manga/{{Saki}}'':
** The most noticeable and plot-relevant case is tacos for Yuuki, and she plays at her best after eating one. Alternatively, anything with octopus (tako) will do in a pinch.
** Choe Myeng-hwa of the Rinkai team has come to like salmon and herring roe since coming to Japan. This is slightly downplayed because her teammates are slightly surprised to hear about that detail when the announcers talk about her.
** Haru of Eisui is often seen eating some muscovado chips. She shares some with Hisa during the break after their match, and when Hisa says they taste good, [[SugarAndIcePersonality the normally expressionless Haru smiles]].
* Tamachi from ''Manga/SaturnApartments'' loves eggs.
-->'''Tamachi:''' Boiled eggs are simple and taste of happiness.
* In ''Manga/SchoolRumble'', much is made of the various male characters' preference for curry vs. beef-and-potato stew. Karasuma, the oblivious target of main character Tenma Tsukamoto's love, is the most food-obsessed, at one point stating he prefers curry to poor Tenma.
* Ichigo Moesaki from ''Manga/SeiyusLife'' is obsessed with strawberries to the point that she has an entire persona built up about how she's a princess from the strawberry planet and just about everything in her room has a strawberry on it. Although the obsession is not because she particularly likes them, she's just making a pun on her StageName. Konno also has a thing for beef bowls (to the point where she has a strap shaped like a slab of meat on her briefcase).
* Kululu of ''Manga/SgtFrog'' loves curry so much, he bathes in it. Natsumi, meanwhile, seems to be rather fond of baked sweet potatoes.
* Shana from ''Literature/ShakuganNoShana'' absolutely loves melon bread and is heavily associated with it as a result. It's also [[OneNoteCook one of the few things she can cook and make edible]]. Her omake counterpart in the DVD specials, Shana-tan, even fires an endless stream of them out of {{hammerspace}} as a weapon at one point.
* In ''Anime/ShimaShimaToraNoShimajiro'', Toriipi is apparently fond of ''Takoyaki'', which are fried octopus balls.
* Subverted with Nana Daiba from ''Anime/ShoujoKagekiRevueStarlight''; despite being heavily associated with bananas and often making banana-flavored sweets for her friends (to the point that she's even ''nicknamed'' "Banana"), her profile lists pork miso soup as her favorite food.
* ''Manga/SilverSpoon'': Ikeda's love of meat in any form is a RunningGag throughout the series. In her first appearance as a named character, she attempts to buy bacon from Yugo, but her shyness and [[CannotSpitItOut inability to spit it out]] lead to the situation being mistaken for an AnguishedDeclarationOfLove. Also, during the SchoolFestival, the guy selling hamburgers brags that his patties are 100% beef, no fillers or binders, which causes Ikeda to seemingly ''spontaneously materialize'' with a facial expression high school girls usually reserve for their favorite boy band. Ikeda also turns down Tokiwa's love confession specifically because his family raises chickens for eggs and not meat.
* The eponymous character from ''SpaceBattleshipYamamotoYohko'' likes pocky. Her Montague Counterpart similarly likes sausages of any flavor, and rice cakes; pretty much [[FreudWasRight anything phallic, really.]] That somehow hints at the fact that he's [[WholesomeCrossdresser actually a girl]], but due to PhlebotinumBreakdown later, [[GenderBender she became a he]].
* ''Manga/SpecialA'' lists all the characters' favorites, but the one that's most notable is Kei Takishima, who prefers the cooking of his crush Hikari Hanazono over everything else in existence. He's quite literally blind to the fact that she's actually a LethalChef; everyone thinks he's insane when he says that she's the best cook in the world.
* ''Manga/SquidGirl'': the title character, being a squid, loves shrimp.
* ''VisualNovel/SteinsGate'': Mayuri is always chowing down on one of two things: fried chicken and bananas.
* Among the main characters of ''Anime/{{Symphogear}}'', two clearly has their trademark favorite foods: Hibiki (rice) and Chris (anpan, bread with sweet bean paste).
* ''Anime/TenchiMuyo'': Ryo-Ohki series is a major carrot addict; in one ending sequence, she manages to harvest one the size of a car and eats it whole.
* According to the [[OnTheNext preview of episode 4]], ''Anime/TigerAndBunny'''s protagonist Kotetsu puts mayonnaise on ''everything'' he eats. But because he consumes a disproportionate amount of fried rice - either because he really likes it, doesn't know how to cook anything else, or both - Barnaby assumes that to be his favorite; [[spoiler: in the second-to-last episode, [[ThroughHisStomach he admits that he's been learning to make the dish so he could cook for Kotetsu.]]]]
* Various characters in ''Anime/TomicaHyperRescueDriveHeadKidouKyuukyuuKeisatsu'' have foods they love (Gou and curry, Karigari and steak, Mikoto and pancakes), but the most notable of these is Taiga, who is regularly seen eating and hoarding bizarre limited-edition flavors of Syori Syori Kun ice cream. Typically, even in the rare piece of official art drawn for the show, he has one stuffed in his mouth.
* ''Manga/{{Tomie}}'' demands foie gras and caviar a few times, although it is uncertain whether she likes it or just wants to have the most expensive things, seeing as she at one point in the series says that she's grown tired of eating it.
* ''Manga/{{Toriko}}'':
** Finding and eating their [[TrademarkFavoriteFood Full Course Menu]] (which consists of a Hors d'Oeuvre, Soup, a Fish Dish, a Meat Dish, the Main Course, a Salad, a Dessert, and a Drink) is the protagonist's stated goal from day 1. It is as crucial to the plot as collecting Gym badges is in a ''Franchise/{{Pokemon}}'' game.
** The capture level of a Full Course Menu is generally indicative of a character's strength. If someone powerful has unexpectedly low level's Full course menu, there's a good reason for it.
** Crucially, as the final arc revealed, [[spoiler:if the full course menu is not the character's true TrademarkFavoriteFood, they will be consumed by their Appetite demon.]]
* ''Manga/{{Trigun}}'''s Vash has a fondness for doughnuts. Early parts of the series frequently used the running gag of him "accepting" them as a gift when they really were meant for someone else. Even in [[CerebusSyndrome the latter part of the series]], he still manages to joyously gorge himself on them. Though in the anime, at some point he cries and BSOD's when he has some [[spoiler:after the death of his friend Wolfwood.]]
** The doughnuts were intended as a peace offering for Vash. Milly just didn't know ''he'' was the Vash the Stampede they'd been looking for.
** Then there's Milly's love for pudding.
* Inverted with Fai in ''Manga/TsubasaReservoirChronicle''. One extra-chapter {{omake}} has the cast eating sushi, and Fai is ''completely repulsed'' by the idea of eating raw fish. Even though it never comes up again, {{Fandom}} has latched onto this and it's become the basis for quite a few Kurogane x Fai {{fanfiction}}.
* Ciel from ''VisualNovel/{{Tsukihime}}'' loves curry.
* Yamada from ''Anime/{{Tsuritama}}'' is only ever seen eating whitebait curry, courtesy of [[OmniscientCouncilofVagueness D.U.C.K.]]
* Kinniku Mantaro/Kid Muscle of ''Anime/UltimateMuscle'' loved ''kalbi-don'' (Korean style grilled short-ribs and rice) so much, he had a song for it. And his dad Kinniku Suguru / King Muscle loved ''gyuudon'' (beef and rice) and also had a song for it. [[Manga/{{Kinnikuman}} Like father, like son.]]
* Whilst Ataru Moroboshi of ''Manga/UruseiYatsura'' is a BigEater in general, he has a particular love for gyuudon (literally "beef bowl"), a kind of donburi dish made with beef--it's the food he's most commonly seen eating in the series. Lum's Stormtroopers also share a particular fixation on this dish, and it's one of the few areas in which Ataru finds common ground with them.
* ''Manga/VenusVersusVirus'''s anime has Layla loving konpeito while Lola is constantly eating chocolate bars. The manga has them both constantly munching on Pocky.
* ''Anime/ViewtifulJoe'', in the anime, is nigh-obsessive about cheeseburgers. And in the game, they're healing items (with larger burger ''meals'' healing much more health.)
* ''Manga/WanderingSon'': It's stated Takatsuki's favorite food is cheesecake though, and she mentions it a few times.
* ''Literature/WanderingWitchTheJourneyOfElaina'': the titular characters loved bread so much that the first thing to do upon arrival in a new country is to get local breads to taste.
* Jibanyan from ''Anime/YokaiWatch'' has a SweetTooth in general but especially loves eating chocolate bars.
** Komasan is ''very'' fond of Ice cream (called Soft-cream in the original Japanese); Nate and co. even met him in Mog-Mog Burger when the bot's cone was licked by him.
* ''Manga/{{Yotsuba}}'' can ''always'' be bribed with ice cream. She also has an affinity for curry (Super-delicious, indeed).
* ''Franchise/YuGiOh'':
** ''Manga/YuGiOh'':
*** Yugi and hamburgers.
*** Jonouchi [[BigEater will eat anything]], but seems to have a thing for chili.
*** Yami Bakura really, really likes rare meat.
*** [[AllThereInTheManual According to his character profile]], ''Ryou'' Bakura loves [[SweetTooth cream puffs]]. The fans have latched onto this detail to the point where a huge chunk of fan art of him features cream puffs in some way or other.
*** Pegasus and his infamous gorgonzola cheese, which he consumes with the finest of wine while reading comic books.
** ''Anime/YuGiOhGX'':
*** [[BigEater Judai]] loves fried shrimp.
*** In the 4kids dub, Chumley (Hayato Maeda) has a noticeable obsession with grilled cheese sandwiches.
*** Professor Cronos has expressed a love for pasta. (Of course, seeing as his full name is Cronos de Medici, [[UsefulNotes/{{Italy}} it's little wonder]].)
** ''Anime/YuGiOh5Ds'':
*** Cup ramen appears to be a favorite for multiple characters, Jack, Yusei, Bruno, Crow, and Jaeger (Lazar) are all shown to adore the stuff.
*** Jaegar has a [[TearJerker justification]] for liking it so much; his family is extremely poor, and ramen is one of the cheapest meals available.
*** That would also explain why Jack, Yusei, and Crow like ramen so much, considering they are from the slum Satellite.
*** Jack's favorite coffee is the Blue-Eyes Mountain, which costs 3000 yen, and he keeps ordering it despite trying to save money.
** In ''Anime/YuGiOhZexal'', Yuma eats rice balls as snacks, often in the middle of a duel for energy ("duel fuel", as he calls them). Astral likes them too, although he can only experience the sensation of eating when he and Yuma share the same body in ZEXAL mode.
* ''Anime/YuriOnIce'': Yuuri and his katsudon have reached memetic levels, but he deserves it for saying that katsudon is what eros means to him.
* ''Manga/ZatchBell'' likes his yellowtail tuna, preferring to eat it live... while he strips down to his birthday suit, much to Kiyomaro's consternation.
** Victoreem will drop everything to eat a melon, and then sing [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HL3F5MFTm0s&feature=related a goofy song about it]].
* The titular zombies of ''Anime/ZombieLandSaga'' all seem to have a taste for dried squid. Tae even jumps into the audience during their second performance because she spots an old man eating some.
