* ''WesternAnimation/TheAdventuresOfJimmyNeutronBoyGenius'':
** Jimmy is one of the rare cases where a show's protagonist is this. His intelligence and pride in it make him unpopular with the other kids and he gets little to no empathy from his friends when he is made fun of or bullied. It does not help that he usually causes the problem of the week.
** Cindy, through Audience Popularity and Proximity. She's kind of a jerk who always makes up excuses for her actions. Libby is the only member of the group who genuinely likes her. Still, she can be quite resourceful and helpful when the plot calls for it, which is why the gang never kicks her out. The fact that Cindy and Jimmy have crushes on each other (not that they like admitting to it) also has something to do with her involvement.
** Sheen constantly annoys everyone with his ramblings about Ultra Lord, low intelligence, annoying shouting and the fact that he can be insensitive.
---> '''Sheen''': Hey Bro-bot! If we can't rescue your parents in time and they turn into gravadiscs, can I have one?\
'''Jimmy''': Sheen! \
'''Sheen''': But they look so cool. \
'''Bro-bot''': [to Carl] I don't like Sheen. \
'''Carl''': Tell me about it.
* ''WesternAnimation/AmericanDad'':
** Klaus is often ignored and openly disliked by the Smith family, but they are stuck with him (Proximity and Supervision) due to the CIA turning him into their pet goldfish. When push comes to shove, they will admit that they do love him. Abuse also plays a role since the episode "No Weddings and a Funeral" shows that without Klaus to act as their punching bag, the Smith family would fall apart.
** [[Characters/AmericanDadRogerSmith Roger Smith]] has bouts of this due to being a TokenEvilTeammate, but like with Klaus, the Smiths are stuck with him due to Supervision since he's an alien. They are shown to care about him deep down and vice-versa.
** Hayley can be this as well due to her left wing, SoapboxSadie tendencies. Usually, it's only Stan who she butts heads with, but some episodes such as "Hayley Smith: Seal Team Six" show that the others can't stand to be around her either, going so far as sneaking out to a restaurant without her. It didn't used to be this way [[UsedToBeASweetKid back when she was "Happy Hayley"]].
--->'''Roger''' (about "Happy Hayley"): Always smiling. You were a bunny-wunny. You were a sweetie-cutie-baby-honey-pie. You were tooshy-wooshy-boohjy-boohjy. And now I'm indifferent to you.
** Hayley's boyfriend, and later husband, Jeff Fischer, as he's a lazy stoner who lives in his van. When Jeff was abducted by aliens, no one except Hayley missed him. And when he returned home (actually an alien impersonating him) with a drastically different personality, everyone except Hayley liked the new "Jeff" better.
* ''WesternAnimation/AquaTeenHungerForce'': Master Shake is the resident {{jerk|ass}}ish, [[TooDumbToLive deathly stupid]] [[TheSociopath sociopath]] that Frylock, Meatwad and Carl at best tolerate him to an extent. Whenever he dies, they aren't so much [[AndThereWasMuchRejoicing happy]] as they are just not really giving a shit.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Archer}}'' takes place in a WorldOfJerkass, and even then the titular character [[Characters/ArcherSterlingArcher Sterling Archer]] stands out for being an abrasive {{manchild}} who even his closest friends and lovers struggle to be around due to him being an annoying douche on his best days and a complete a-hole on his worst, with them keeping him around mainly because [[BunnyEarsLawyer he's the best at what he does]]. This comes to a head in Season 11 where after waking up from a three-year coma, he finds out that everyone's become far more successful while he was gone and they begin to regard him as TheMillstone when his presence causes them to fall into old habits. However, after he ''saves the world'' and they're still being jerks to him, with Lana (the ''mother of his child'') telling him she wished he was still in a coma, he's devastated and hands them a TheReasonYouSuckSpeech calling them out for [[FreudianExcuseIsNoExcuse using him as a scapegoat for their own toxic behavior]] and they're forced to admit JerkassHasAPoint.
* ''WesternAnimation/ArchiesWeirdMysteries'':
** Reggie fills this role, being a jerk who mostly looks out for himself. This is even lampshaded in one episode where the gang wonders why they should bother saving him when he is possessed by a ghost. But most episodes show that when the chips are down, Reggie does look out for his friends and family and will save the day when it counts.
** Veronica as well, as her shallowness, [[ItsAllAboutMe self-absorption]], and annoyingness have been dialed up ''considerably'' compared to her [[ComicBook/ArchieComics source counterpart]]. Like Reggie she will look out for her friends and family when the chips are down, but she gets on their nerves, especially Jughead's, quite often. It's best said in one episode when she is turned into a vampire, begins cozying up to the master vampire, and gets between him and his (former) second-in-command who goes as far as to ''conspire with Archie and his friends to cure her'' just to be rid of her:
---> '''Scarlet:''' I just don't see the point of an eternal night... if I have to spend it with an eternal pain-in-the-neck!
---> '''Jughead:''' Wow! Veronica's so annoying even the ''vampires'' don't want her!
* ''WesternAnimation/BarbieLifeInTheDreamhouse'' has [[TheRival Raquelle]], who's often the SixthRanger and TokenEvilTeammate of the main group of girls. They all realize that Raquelle is [[GreenEyedMonster incredibly envious of Barbie]] and constantly trying to sabotage her, but begrudgingly put up with her in the interest of the whole gang. Franchise/{{Barbie}} does genuinely like Raquelle because she's [[IncorruptiblePurePureness inhumanly kind]], but even ''she'' occasionally slips in a few barbs at her.
** Raquelle's twin brother Ryan is also treated this way by the heroes; when he joins the main group for activities, he's either paired with Raquelle so they can hatch a ZanyScheme together or forced to partner with someone else whose ability to hide their dislike for him varies.
** Midge and Summer are {{downplayed|Trope}} examples of Proximity -- they're both old friends of Barbie's, but their abrasive personalities (the former loves IncrediblyLameFun and the latter is a complete CompetitionFreak) often chafe with Nikki and Teresa. Unlike Raquelle and Ryan, though, Midge and Summer are genuinely nice people with singular flaws as opposed to overall jerks with [[HiddenHeartOfGold well-hidden positive traits.]]
* The eponymous character of ''WesternAnimation/{{Beetlejuice}}'' is a double example. Whether in the Neitherworld or the world of the living, Lydia Deetz is his best friend. At best, the rest of his acquaintances tolerate him; he's even voted the "Most Hated Guy in the Neitherworld" in one episode. Among the living, his {{Gender Ben|der}}t human disguise of Betty Juice is disliked by every single one of Lydia's other friends, who only put up with "her" for Lydia's sake.
* ''WesternAnimation/BeverlyHillsTeens'': AlphaBitch Bianca. How she is friends with anyone is a total mystery. To a lesser extent, Pierce.
* ''WesternAnimation/BobsBurgers'':
** Linda's sister Gayle and mother Gloria are familial examples. Gayle's a neurotic mess of a woman and Gloria's an emotionally abusive asshole. Just about no one can stand either of them except for Linda, which only comes out of a sense of obligation because they're her family and she feels she has to love them and want them in her life. Bob and the kids are well aware of how toxic Linda's relatives are and try not to have anything to do with them if they can help it. Even Tina, the one kid who shows Gayle and Gloria any semblance of respect, will try to cut out as soon as possible, especially if it's Gloria. That said, Gayle is given more humanizing moments than Gloria and tends to be far more tolerable, whereas Gloria is simply horrible.
** Tammy Larsen is an obnoxious wannabe AlphaBitch and as such, she has no real friends and most of the kids who do hang around her don't really like her that much. Her BetaBitch Jocelyn is mostly a YesMan, but even she's willing to admit that Tammy's awful.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheBoondocks'':
** Uncle Ruckus, whom everybody (especially Robert) inexplicably tolerates despite being a massive BoomerangBigot. [[spoiler:It's possible they take pity on him for his [[FreudianExcuse truly depressing backstory]]]].
** Tom Dubois to a lesser extent, as his needy and straitlaced tendencies make the Freemans reluctant to deal with him. Even his wife frequently gets annoyed with him, with it never really being made clear ''why'' she loves him.
* ''WesternAnimation/CaptainPlanetAndThePlaneteers'': Wheeler is a downplayed example. He and Ma-Ti have a friendly big brother/little brother relationship and Gi and Kwame don't dislike him for the most part, with Linka doing the bulk of the snarking at him (and even that is partially due to crushing on him). However, once the issue of the episode comes up, Wheeler (being the StrawmanBall-holder and [[TheComplainerIsAlwaysWrong dissenter]] of the group) regularly irritates the others. However, he remains a part of the team because Gaia selected him as part of it, because all five rings are necessary to summon Captain Planet, and because, at the end of the day, the others do care about him and recognize he's good-hearted, regardless of his flaws and lack of experience.
* ''WesternAnimation/CodenameKidsNextDoor''
** Despite the fact that Numbuh 363 is the leader of Sector W and, under his leadership, has had the highest mission success rate, despite being comprised of recent KND graduates, his teammates dislike him because of his [[BrattyHalfPint rudeness]] and [[ScrewTheRulesIHaveConnections insistence on being treated with respect just for being Numbuh 362's brother]]. While they are content with following his lead, they are unsure about how ruthless Numbuh 363 was during the scavenger hunt and getting the Delightful Children's birthday cake, where he was willing to leave Sector V at the mercy of Father if it meant winning the scavenger hunt and getting the Delightful Children's birthday cake. The breaking point for his teammates is when Numbuh 363 celebrates his victory over Father's pipe rather than thanking Numbuh 1 for saving his life; this is the last straw for Numbuh 83 and Numbuh 84 since he nearly got his team killed over trying to get it and had to be bailed out by Sector V, Number 83 promptly calls him out over it, takes the pipe, and hands it over to Sector V to complete the hunt. It was implied that Numbuh 363 is disliked by the whole Kids Next Door organization, and he only tolerated it because his sister is the leader; a month later, when his sister was replaced by Number 5 as the leader, he was decommissioned because he freaked out whenever someone touched him.
** Toiletnator is despised by all his fellow villains because he's clingy, [[IneffectualSympatheticVillain incompetent as a bad guy]], and a [[TheMillstone major hindrance]] to their plans. There's a reason Mr. Boss has a catchphrase reserved for every time he shows up.
--->''' Mr. Boss:''' Aw geez, it's the Toiletnator!
** Then there's Numbuh 13. A walking jinx who causes bad luck where ever he goes. The KND were reluctant of having to give up Toiletnator in exchange for him, and really starts to get on the nerves of Sector V in just a few minutes he is with them.
* In ''WesternAnimation/TheCupheadShow'', while it's more like "The ''{{Mook}}'' Nobody Likes", we have [[BigBad The Devil's]] soul auditor Stickler. All he does is constantly ruin all the other demons' fun and incessantly pester The Devil about outstanding souls in need of collection, all the while in a nasally voice. Even ''[[MinionWithAnFInEvil Henchman]]'' hates this guy!
* Due to being such an AlphaBitch, Sandi from ''WesternAnimation/{{Daria}}'' is mainly only tolerated due to being attractive and the president of the Fashion Club, and maybe a healthy dose of fear as well. It's pretty telling that when she breaks her leg in "[[Recap/DariaS5E03 Fat Like Me]]", Tiffany and Stacy don't even bother hiding the fact that they don't miss having her around at all at the meetings, and are even less upset when she's forced to resign due to the overly strict weight guidelines (which she created herself).
* ''WesternAnimation/DuckTales1987'' has Webbigail (Webby), Mrs. Beakley's granddaughter. Huey, Dewey and Louie, being the prepubescent boys they are, are often annoyed at having to hang out with a girl (especially one who loves pink, dolls, and other super-feminine things). They really do care about her, however.
* ''WesternAnimation/DuckTales2017'' has two cases of a variation in which the despised individual is hated by their families, rather than their friends:
** In "[[Recap/DuckTales2017S1E4TheBeagleBirthdayMassacre The Beagle Birthday Massacre]]", the Beagle Boy clique known as the Tumblebums are MonsterClown-themed and so creepy that the rest of their family wants nothing to do with them; their own mother is heard audibly shuddering in disgust when she welcomes them to her birthday, and their brothers keep speculating that they are adopted out of reluctance to admit they're related.
** WordOfGod asserts that one of the few things that unite the estranged Donald and Scrooge is their mutual disgust for [[BornLucky Gladstone Gander]], on account of how he shamelessly revels in his ability to coast through life on luck alone. After the events of "[[Recap/DuckTales2017S1E6TheHouseOfTheLuckyGander The House of the Lucky Gander]]", this stems to Huey, Dewey and Louie as well, having learned just how selfish, shallow and self-absorbed their "cool" uncle really is.
** To a much lesser degree, both Huey and Dewey have quipped that Louie is this, as he is often greedy, lazy and, in Huey's words, "bad at most things."
* ''WesternAnimation/EdEddNEddy'': While not shunned like [[AllOfTheOtherReindeer the Ed's]], it's been shown that the kids on the Cul-de-sac aren't too fond of Jonny. He has moments when he can be a pest towards the other kids and won't leave them alone, despite the kids obviously getting annoyed by his antics. Even the Eds get annoyed by him sometimes, (yes, including '''[[EveryoneHasStandards Ed]]'''). In "Shoo Ed", the Eds make a whole scam out of getting him to annoy the other kids. In another, he hosted a party where only the Ed's showed up. In "Here's Mud In Your Ed," He stole a shovel despite Sarah's protests, and it took Sarah beating the crap out of him to get him to leave her and Jimmy alone. [[spoiler:In the [[WesternAnimation/EdEddNEddysBigPictureShow finale]], he soon becomes the outcast to the other kids when he beats up The Eds, after the other kids learned how terrible Eddy’s brother was to him]].
* ''WesternAnimation/FamilyGuy'':
** Meg is sometimes treated as this by the family, if not [[AllOfTheOtherReindeer worse]], depending on the episode.
** [[Characters/FamilyGuyPeterGriffin Peter Griffin]], as his friendships with Joe and Quagmire have been surely diminishing since [[WesternAnimation/TheClevelandShow Cleveland's departure.]]
* ''WesternAnimation/FinalSpace'': KVN was meant to serve as a RobotBuddy to help keep [[TheHero Gary]] sane on his five-year sentence alone on the ''Galaxy One'', but due to his obnoxious personality, he, if anything, had the opposite effect. On top of Gary openly hating him from the moment they met to nearly five years later when the story begins, the other members of the ''Galaxy One'' crew (with the exception of one time where he [[CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass actually managed to save them]]) are at best indifferent towards him, but are just as often annoyed by him. At one point, the ship's A.I., HUE even admits he thinks KVN's a jag-off to Gary.
* ''WesternAnimation/FostersHomeForImaginaryFriends'':
** Bloo. Depending on the episode, it can feel like everyone at Foster's only tolerates him due to Proximity, Supervision, and because Mac (his creator) is a pleasant and helpful child. Speaking of, while Mac genuinely likes Bloo, even he's shown to regularly expresses frustration for Bloo's selfish behavior alongside everyone else.
** A more extreme example would be Duchess, who is a "friend" through Proximity. She lives at Foster's and despite her rudeness, she follows the rules well enough that they have no excuse to kick her out. They'd happily get rid of her if someone wanted to adopt her, but she's such an awful imaginary friend in looks and personality that no one ever does.
** The biggest example has to be Cheese, who ''none'' of the cast (with the exception of Goo) can stand. Unfortunately, he's such a unpredictable force of nature that whenever he randomly shows up, they nevertheless feel the urge to keep watch over him until they can drag him back home, because if they didn't, he'd just run off and cause potentially worse problems for someone else.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Futurama}}'':
** Zoidberg, TropeNamer for MyFriendsAndZoidberg. He is a friend through Proximity (he works for Planet Express) and all his co-workers are quite verbal in their dislike of him. "The Tip of the Zoidberg" reveals that the Professor genuinely cares for him, which is why he keeps his job despite being a totally incompetent doctor [[HiddenDepths (for humans, anyway)]]. However, sometimes the other characters will show that they do care about him at least a little (even Hermes, who's pretty vocal about how annoying he finds Zoidberg, does this on occasion). Ironically enough, while Zoidberg is usually treated poorly by most of the main characters, characters who are considered monstrous and vile like [[CorruptCorporateExecutive Mom]] and [[BadSanta Robot Santa]] immediately show him more respect and consideration.
** Bender is a subversion. Despite being a notorious {{Jerkass}} and the TokenEvilTeammate, most of his friends seem to like him, all while knowing how evil and rude he is.
* ''WesternAnimation/GlitchTechs'': Mitch. Miko and Five naturally do not like him due to the tournament incident in the first episode, but later learn that their feelings are shared by the rest of their coworkers. Even Mitch's own teammates admit to hating him due to his smug ItsAllAboutMe attitude and are utterly baffled when they learn Five was trying to emulate the guy in order to gain their respect in one episode.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Green Eggs and Ham|2019}}'': {{Downplayed|Trope}} with Sam. He is a popular customer at his local diner and makes friends easily with everyone he meets, but his overly-chipper (and occasionally annoying) attitude make it difficult for anyone to want to spend time with him by choice. This is actually PlayedForDrama since [[spoiler:he revealed to Guy in "House" that he has always been alone and he is desperate for companionship ever since his mom just walked out on him.]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:H-P]]
* ''WesternAnimation/HeyArnold'':
** [[Characters/HeyArnoldHelgaGPataki Helga G. Pataki]] is this because she is a bully. Only Phoebe and Arnold truly like her ([[DependingOnTheWriter and there are times that even Arnold can't stand to be around her]]). Everyone else tolerates her out of fear (because she'll beat their ass if they piss her off) and/or proximity (she is a classmate and lives in the neighborhood). Audience Popularity, thanks to the hilarity of her LovingBully behavior and the drama of her [[ParentalNeglect depressing home life]], also helps.
** Harold was this in the early seasons. The episode "Harold's Kitty" establishes that nobody really likes Harold due to his bullying ways. He ends up taking care of a lost kitten who happens to belong to an old lady he makes fun of. After showing this HiddenHeartOfGold, he develops genuine friendships with the other kids, but since they still show some annoyance towards Harold in later episodes, this status never goes away entirely.
** Among the adults, Oskar Kokoshka is not well-liked by anyone in the boarding house. It implied that he had a history of borrowing money, not paying it back, and conning the borders out of money. He is a lazy bum who mooches off his wife and everyone else. It gets to a point where even [[NiceGuy Arnold]] can lose patience with him, and [[BewareTheNiceOnes even went as far to call him a "huge loser"]]. While the other borders can be a little civil to him and would let Oskar hang around them, and invite him to holiday celebrations and parties. The only people who genuinely like him are his wife, Suzie, and Arnold, and that is because Suzie is his wife, while Arnold sees the best in everyone. And even they can lose patience with him, to Oscar's credit, when he realizes that he disappointed Suzie and Arnold, he makes a genuine effort to make it up to them and show he cares for them. Out of all the other people who live in the boarding house, Phil (Arnold's grandfather) and Ernie (the short construction guy) seem to dislike Oskar the most. [[spoiler:By ''The Jungle Movie'', Suzie finally reached her breaking point and divorced Oskar offscreen.]]
* ''WesternAnimation/HowToTrainYourDragon'':
** While it's also evident in the films, the longer form [[WesternAnimation/DragonsRidersOfBerk animated series]] makes it even more obvious that none of the teen teachers of the Dragon Academy particularly like Snotlout Jorgenson, thanks to him being a dim-witted, bullying, arrogant, brash, hotheaded, smug pest. However, the later seasons show that they do care about him deep down. Even Astrid admits: "He's a muttonhead, but he's our muttonhead and I won't let anything bad happen to him."
** That's nothing compared to Ruffnut and Tuffnut's cousin Gruffnut. He's a con-artist, greedy, selfish, conniving, and will ditch other people at the first opportunity. Nearly every other character is suspicious of him whenever he arrives, including the aforementioned Snotlout, who once got stuck in a booby trap due to Gruffnut's own greed! Once rescued Ruffnut and Tuffnut ask Hiccup what to do with Gruffnut; Hiccup's response is that, as a family member, they choose what to do with him. The twins promptly ditch him on a deserted island.
* ''WesternAnimation/HeManAndTheMastersOfTheUniverse'': Adam's cousin Princess Edwina is this for the royal family, and indeed everyone in Eternos proper. Spoiled, condescending, and with an entitlement complex, the only reason people tolerate her is because she's related to Randor. Orko was at first smitten with her because of her looks, but soon discovered her nasty nature when she tried to convince him to abandon his friends so she could keep him as a wizard. Ultimately Randor has enough and outright tells Edwina if she can't learn how to behave properly, she is no longer welcome in the capital.
* ''WesternAnimation/InsideJob2021'': Reagan Ridley starts off the series as this amongst the staff of Cognito Inc. Her lack of social skills, ego, and high strung nature did not win her any friends with her fellow department heads, hence [[YesMan Brett]] getting hired to compensate. It was only after Brett came on and she developed an earnest friendship with him that she started to open up a bit to everyone else, which allowed the rest of the group begin to liking her more and hanging out with her.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Jem}}'': Jetta, to the Misfits. She is constantly lying, is almost always on Roxy's bad side, picks on Stormer, and generally is the TokenEvilTeammate in a band predominantly made of {{jerkass}} VitriolicBestBuds.
* ''WesternAnimation/JohnCallahansQuads'' has Blazer, who is almost universally disliked and mistrusted by the rest of the group. They'll mistreat him, but will ''never'' outright betray him out of fear of what the surprisingly capable head on a skateboard is capable of.
-->'''Griz:''' Double-cross ''Blazer''?! Not on your life! He'd have me arse!\
'''Lefty:''' I barely want Blazer as a friend. I definitely don't want him as an enemy!
* ''WesternAnimation/JosieAndThePussycats'': Alexandra does nothing to help out the gang and deliberately tries to sabotage anything they do when she gets the chance. She is a Proximity example, and a Necessity example to a lesser extent; Alexander is the wealthy manager of the title band, and Alexandra is tolerated basically because she is Alexander's sister and the band members' classmate.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Kaeloo}}'':
** In earlier seasons, the main four's annoying neighbor, [[AlphaBitch Pretty]] is one of these. Everyone hates her, barring her sister and Kaeloo to some extent.[[note]]The hatred seems to be reciprocated, as she rejoices when they are presumed dead in one episode.[[/note]]. The trope becomes subverted as Pretty later undergoes a HeelFaceTurn and becomes a BullyTurnedBuddy.
** Kaeloo herself is sometimes portrayed as this; DependingOnTheWriter, everyone may hate hanging out with Kaeloo, the sole exception being Mr. Cat. They go to a party where she isn't invited and are happy that she isn't there, they try to find a way to stop hanging out with her forever, and they even try to get her thrown in jail once.
** Game Rule is portrayed as one of these in most of the episodes of season 5. The main four often call her their friend but they also find her rather irritating and frequently come up with ideas to get revenge on her for being annoying, as well as expressing disappointment whenever she shows up.
* ''WesternAnimation/KingOfTheHill'':
** It's been noted on more than one occasion that Hank's friends generally only associate with Peggy because she is Hank's wife: Dale's made it clear several times that he can't stand her. Bill is about the only one who likes Peggy and this is only because he is [[StalkerWithACrush openly infatuated with her]]. Her [[SmallNameBigEgo large ego]] drives everyone other than Hank and Bill away.
** Bill is considered (at best) a nuisance by everyone he knows. Between his disgusting habits, pathetic neediness, frequent AcquiredSituationalNarcissism, tendency to butt into people's lives, and StalkerWithACrush tendencies to the whole Hill family (especially Peggy), the whole cast openly hates him. The main reasons everyone still associates with him is seniority (they have known him since high school, when was actually TheAce and genuinely liked by everyone), proximity (he is a neighbor), supervision (he is incredibly incompetent and has attempted suicide multiple times), and, of course, pity. Like with Peggy, Dale is the most openly contemptuous of Bill and it comes to a head in one episode where Bill and Dale get into an argument over an empty beer can Dale left on Bill's lawn and refused to pick up. The fight ends with ''Bill'' admitting that he had not liked Dale for years and the only reason he hung out with him was because of Hank and Boomhauer. However, considering how the two embraced at the end of the episode, it's highly unlikely that Bill meant it.
--->'''Dale''': Then how come last week, you said you were my best friend?\
'''Bill''': I pretended you were Hank when I said it!
** Dale is often like this as well; he is an unstable paranoid maniac with a very loose grasp of reality. In spite of this, the group tend to hang out with him due to a mixture of Seniority (also a schoolmate), Proximity (he lives in their neighborhood), Supervision (Dale is a nutjob with guns but is really only a threat to himself) and Necessity (Dale's lifestyle has given him a very weird collection of skills which the rest of the cast occasionally find useful).
** Kahn and Mihn Souphanousinphone are also examples, since they openly insult their "redneck" neighbors and behave as though they are superior to everyone else. Despite this, however, Kahn has admitted more than once that he considers Hank to be his best friend and Minh not only became friends with Dale in one episode due to their mutual love of shooting, but has admitted that for better or worse, the Rainey Street residents begrudgingly accept them and refuses to move away because of it. The friendships thrive on Proximity (since they are neighbors, the others try to get along with them the best they can), Necessity (Kahn is shown to be highly skilled in many areas and the guys have exploited this from time to time) and Pity (Kahn's manic depression, exclusion from the Laotian community for being "too white" and poor family life make it easy for the others to feel sorry for him).
* ''WesternAnimation/TheLegendOfKorra'':
** The fourth season ClipShow "[[Recap/TheLegendOfKorraS4E8Remembrances Remembrances]]" includes [[AbridgedSeries a bizarre retelling of the series]] by [[CloudCuckooLander Varrick]], where all the previous {{Big Bad}}s form their own LegionOfDoom. They repeatedly try to exclude [[EvilUncle Unalaq]], who is described as "boring and unpopular," but he keeps butting in on their meetings. While Varrick did hate Unalaq himself and obviously would badmouth the man in such a matter, this was mainly a [[LeaningOnTheFourthWall nod to the fandom]], as Unalaq is also [[TheScrappy disliked by the fandom]] for being the GenericDoomsdayVillain of the show's [[AudienceAlienatingEra most-hated season]].
** [[Characters/TheLegendOfKorraVarrickAndZhuLi Varrick]] himself was originally an antagonist and is generally ([[CharacterDevelopment but not entirely]]) amoral; he destroyed Asami's company and framed Mako for it, after all. On the other hand, even at his worst, he was always AffablyEvil and generally functions as a cross between a BunnyEarsLawyer and ReluctantMadScientist, so he is usually tolerated out of Necessity. Bolin is the only one who seems to genuinely get along with Varrick, due to proximity -- he has spent a lot of time working with Varrick, both on Varrick's projects and with Varrick on Kuvira's projects, but even Bolin, nice and friendly as he is, gets fed up enough to call Varrick out... which is what makes Varrick like ''him'', so much so that Bolin even officiated at his wedding.
** Season 4 has [[TheWrongfulHeirToTheThrone Prince Wu]]. Despite being the great-nephew of the much-reviled [[GodSaveUsFromTheQueen Earth Queen]], Wu himself is a very sweet person and considers the Krew the best friends whom he has ever had. But he is also quite childish, ditzy and a shameless flirt, so the cast can't do more than tolerate him out of Necessity and Supervision. The fact that he seems completely oblivious to how the gang feels about him only makes it worse, though he does get some CharacterDevelopment and HiddenDepths as time goes on. And by the end of the season, Mako and Korra have warmed up to him and are proud of his decision to dissolve the monarchy.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheLooneyTunesShow'': WesternAnimation/DaffyDuck is portrayed as a penniless, lazy, narcissistic leech with no stable source of income and mooching off his more sensible roommate WesternAnimation/BugsBunny. WesternAnimation/FoghornLeghorn, Granny (aside from "You've Got Hate Mail"), WesternAnimation/{{Lola|Bunny}}, and Gossamer are the only ones who genuinely like Daffy and accept his antics without complaint. WesternAnimation/PorkyPig's strained friendship with Daffy is due to guilt and pity because Porky [[BullyTurnedBuddy used to bully Daffy in high school]] and he likely feels at least somewhat responsible for how Daffy turned out. Tina Russo, Daffy's girlfriend, mainly dates him out of pity, [[ICanChangeMyBeloved believing that she can change him for the better]]. Everyone else just tolerates him, at best, because of his proximity towards Bugs. Even Bugs isn't sure why he is friends with Daffy, but he does genuinely care about him.
--> '''Bugs''': Daffy, you're a mean-spirited, self-absorbed, disturbed little weirdo. But for whatever reason, [[InvertedTrope you're my best friend]].
* ''WesternAnimation/TheLoudHouse'' has Rita's Aunt Ruth. She is a lazy slob and a big eater and none of the Loud kids (save for Lana), let alone Mr. Loud, enjoy visiting her since she always forces them to watch her cats (even her black cats hate [[{{Goth}} Lucy]]), eat old moldy pudding that she offers, and to massage her feet. There was a time Aunt Ruth took half the family in when their house was [[TermiteTrouble infested with termites]], having brought a lake house in a timeshare; Lincoln, Lori, Lola, Luna, Lynn and Mr. Loud didn't want to stay with her, at first, wanting to switch places with Mrs. Loud, Leni, Lana, Luan, Lucy, Lisa and Lily when they stayed with Pop-Pop at Sunset Canyon, but the former group convinced the latter group to switch places due to all the disadvantages at the retirement home, from a 6:00 PM curfew to a broken air-conditioning unit. Wanting to switch places again due to the lake house [[HereWeGoAgain being infested with the same termites that infested the Loud House]] due to [[UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom Lana]] [[AnimalLover having saved them from being exterminated]], Lincoln's group ends up on the short end of the stick again when they learn the retirement home [[GaveUpTooSoon rented out a cruise ship due to the broken AC unit]].
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Metalocalypse}}'': William Murderface is the unlikable sociopath and butt of the jokes in the titular band, as well as the least skilled member by a decent margin. Despite this, Murderface's presence in the group is necessary, as the one time they've tried to kick him out, the more talented bandmates found that without the ability to channel their hatred of him into their songwriting, their music was missing "something fat... something stupid... something disagreeable", and therefore became too happy-sounding to work as metal. Additionally, Nathan mentions later on that he would risk his life to save Murderface in Doomstar Requiem.
* ''WesternAnimation/MikeTysonMysteries'': Pigeon is a misogynistic, homophobic, foul-mouthed, drunk, drug-addicted, lecherous asshole. Mike is the only member of the team who likes him.
* ''WesternAnimation/MiraculousLadybug'': [[Characters/MiraculousLadybugChloeBourgeois Chloé Bourgeois]] is the school AlphaBitch who everyone only tolerates because of Proximity, Seniority, and Control (they've known her for years and she can generally get away with a lot of her nonsense both due to being the mayor's daughter and their teacher's lax attitude towards her bullying). [[AllLovingHero Marinette Dupain-Cheng]] (aka Ladybug) is one of her most frequent victims and can't stand being near her either. Naturally, this carries over when Chloé gets her own Miraculous and becomes the superheroine Queen Bee; the rest of the heroes barely tolerate her presence, and it doesn't take much of Queen Bee's ItsAllAboutMe attitude before Ladybug makes the executive decision to take her miraculous away.
* ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'': [[Characters/FriendshipIsMagicDiscord Discord]] is this in Season 4, considering the fact that, while he is not trying to plunge the world into chaos, he is still a mischievous trickster. This is later exploited and harshly deconstructed in "Twilight's Kingdom", as since everyone (except [[MoralityChain Fluttershy]]) tolerated him at best and treated him like garbage at worst, he was easily tricked by Tirek into betraying everyone in exchange of freedom by exploiting his feelings and desires, only to be backstabbed by Tirek when he no longer needed him.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheNewAdventuresOfBatman'': On occasion, Batman and Robin appear to resent Bat-Mite just for being there instead of just [[UnwantedAssistance his misguided attempts at assisting them on their capers]].
* ''WesternAnimation/TheOwlHouse'' has Hooty. Between his NoSenseOfPersonalSpace and tendency to play games involving passwords and riddles, everyone finds him annoying. He's tolerated because of proximity (he is the titular house) and necessity (for all his faults, he's still a powerful house demon that never hesitates to protect the others), keeping the Emperor's Coven at bay. Eda and King just tolerate him most of the time, Gus found him interesting enough to interview (but immediately regretted it), and Amity has flat out attacked him after he pushed her buttons one too many times. Even [[AllLovingHero Luz]] finds him annoying. Subverted in the second season, where he strikes up [[OddFriendship a genuine friendship]] with [[spoiler:Lilith]], and everyone else starts treating him a lot nicer after the events of "Knock, Knock, Knockin' on Hooty's Door".
* ''WesternAnimation/ThePenguinsOfMadagascar'':
** King Julien is this both for the Penguins and for the whole Zoo. The penguins are constantly annoyed by him being invasive and obstructive towards their missions, the rest of the zoo tend to tolerate him most of the time, but only because he's not being an annoyance to everyone in this particular circumstance. He can also be this for Maurice and Mort, depending on the episode, but they seem to be the ones who will most frequently would side with him.
** Fred the squirrel. The penguins more often than not are frustrasted to be around him because of his complete idiocy and unhelpful answers every time they need him, King Julien dislikes him for his short-lived relationship with Marlene (although that doesn't stop him from taking advantage of his fortune in "Nuts to You") and Marlene herself had a crush on him but quickly grew tired of being together and dumped him.
** Officer X was apparently this for Animal Control while he was working there. Every time he tries to contact a co-worker or an old boss in later episodes, they leave it clear, he's not welcome to return and was merely tolerated out of being the best on the job.
* ''WesternAnimation/PepperAnn'' has the titular character. While her friends, teachers and neighbors do not hate her ''per se'', they consider her a nuisance because she’s a reckless and nosy troublemaker. Her jerkish behavior usually being of an InnocentlyInsensitive flavor means that most characters accept that she'll at least not repeat the ''exact'' same mistake if they're blunt with making their displeasure known.
* ''WesternAnimation/PetAlien'': As Swanky is a pretentious, self-centered prima-donna who regularly insults his roommates, exploits them for his own gain and has tried to steal Tommy's bedroom on numerous occasions, none of the other aliens or Tommy like him in the slightest. In "The Day of Judgement", the aliens love his misfortune to the point where they actually made a DVD showcasing his many AmusingInjuries, and in "The Boy Who Became Something" Tommy threw him out of the lighthouse after Swanky pushed his luck too far. He's tolerated through a mix of seniority (he apparently went to high school with the other aliens), proximity (he lives in the lighthouse with the other aliens and Tommy is, [[BewareTheNiceOnes for the most part]], too nice to kick him out) and caring ([[VitriolicBestBuds they make life more interesting for each other]]).
* ''WesternAnimation/TheProudFamily'':
** It's hard to believe that Penny is friends with Dijonay at all, given how much of a backstabber she is. None of the others in their friend circle seem to like her very much, especially not Sticky.
** [[AlphaBitch LaCienega]] even more so: she’s incredibly selfish, spiteful, prideful, two-faced, and overall mean. The fact that she still hangs out with Penny and her friends is surprising, given how much of a jerk she is to them, but ''[[JerkassToOne especially]]'' [[JerkassToOne Penny]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:R-Z]]
* ''WesternAnimation/ReadyJetGo'': Zerk is this to Jet, Sean, Sydney, and Mindy. Notably, his first physical appearance in "Back to Bortron 7" was accompanied by dramatic lighting and a mildly startling closeup on his face to show how disliked he is (this was later subject to much mockery). He is disliked mostly because he was a racist bigot to the Earthies in the past, and he is quite irritating. The other kids only hang out with him through Proximity, as he ''is'' Jet's cousin, after all. Even though he was a lot kinder to the Earthies in this episode, everyone was actually glad when he left at the end of "Zerk Visits Earth" due to his energetic, hyperactive personality being too much for them to handle.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Robotboy}}'': Lola and Tommy get fed up with Gus's stupidity and selfishness on a regular basis, but still keep him around as a friend nevertheless. Even if he didn't share mutual interests with Tommy and manage to be occasionally useful, him [[BatmanInMyBasement knowing about Robotboy]] means he's a fellow SecretKeeper that they can't abandon even if they wanted to.
* ''WesternAnimation/RocketPower'': Josh Grody, a one-shot character from "All About Sam", temporarily becomes this to the Rocket gang. Sam, sympathetic towards him due to knowing how it feels to be the lonely new kid himself, convinces the others to let him hang out with them, only for the kid to annoy the gang with his lame attempts at slang, his sucking up to Otto, and even his picking on Sam (which he claims to be simple fun). When Josh tries to replace Sam at a game and it becomes clear how little he thinks of the person who tried to help him in the first place, Otto, Reggie, and Twister make it clear to Josh that Sam's goodwill was the only reason why they tolerated him and quickly unfriend him.
* ''WesternAnimation/ScaryGodmother'': Harry the Werewolf is obnoxious, annoying, selfish, lazy, rarely stops [[MotorMouth talking]], rarely stops [[BigEater eating]], and is basically a general nuisance to everyone else.
* ''WesternAnimation/ShadowRaiders'': The Alliance has ''two'' of these in its ranks:
** Downplayed with [[TheDon Femur]], king of Planet Bone. Whilst many of the Alliance's members dislike him as a [[TheHedonist hedonistic]], [[DirtyCoward cowardly]], [[HeelFaceRevolvingDoor opportunistic backstabber]], his membership in the Alliance is essential due to Planet Bone's status as the Alliance's agricultural powerhouse. At the same time, Pyrus, the boy-king of Planet Fire, has an OddFriendship with Femur, and for all his faults, Femur is fundamentally [[TheGoodKing concerned with ensuring the best for his people]], as well as growing into a much more affable individual over the series.
** Played straight with [[{{Jerkass}} Mantle]], king of Planet Rock. He's an arrogant bully who [[HeadInTheSandManagement refuses to accept the threat of the Beast]], even ''after'' the Beast destroys two of his precious Battle Moons -- the super-weapons he was convinced made Rock the strongest of the four worlds -- and who is more concerned with trying to crudely dominate the other members of the Alliance. It's telling that between Mantle and Femur, the Alliance's members consider ''Femur'' the more tolerable.
* ''WesternAnimation/SheRaPrincessOfPower'': While he is admittedly pretty useful, nobody in the Horde on Etheria likes Imp beyond Hordak. At best they grudgingly tolerate him because Hordak will seek violent retribution against any who try to attack the creature. It's so bad that, when Skeletor took over for an episode, the regular villains were more eager to beat the snot out of Imp than they were resisting Skeletor.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons'':
** Moe is this to his loyal customers, the closest thing he has to actual friends. Sometimes it becomes a plot point in later episodes ("My Fare Lady", "Singin' in the Lane"). Lampshaded in "Pygmoelian".
--->'''Moe:''' Okay, I get it. I ain't pleasant to look at.\
'''Lenny:''' Or listen to.\
'''Carl:''' Or be with.
** [[Characters/TheSimpsonsHomerSimpson Homer Simpson]] himself, DependingOnTheWriter. Probably a plot point in "Homer the Great" when he complains about people who do not like him and the "No Homers Club". Sometimes, for the sake of the plot, he is shunned by his drinking buddies for little to no reason ("Fear of Flying", "Don't Fear the Roofer") which will be forgotten in the next episode. Also played with, while his "friends" have no problem hanging out with him most of the time, if Homer is in trouble, they [[FairWeatherFriend would turn against him at the drop of a hat]], like in "Homer Badman".
** Chief Wiggum's wife Sarah is rarely seen with any of the town's other wives, who pretty much dislike her for some reason. Heck, even ''Marge'' of all people can't stand her.
** Among Bart's loose friend group, nerdy Martin Prince is this. In "Grade School Confidential" his IncrediblyLameFun-filled birthday party breaks up when [[TheFoodPoisoningIncident most of the guests get sick from bad oysters]]. When Bart questions how that could have affected Lisa given that she's a vegetarian, she admits that [[EvenNerdsHaveStandards she just pretended to be sick as an excuse to leave]]. In "Bart on the Road," Bart, Nelson, and Milhouse initially don't want him with them on their road trip, only relenting when they realize that his $600 will be useful to them.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheSmurfs1981'': Brainy Smurf is hugely unpopular amongst the other Smurfs, due to being an arrogant KnowNothingKnowItAll, and as a running gag he gets tossed out of the village at least OnceAnEpisode. The only Smurf who actually admires Brainy and enjoys his company is Clumsy, but all the others can't stand him most of the time.
** There's also Bigmouth, where after several seasons of being a WildCard, solidifies himself as a friend to the Smurfs. Albeit a very obnoxious and annoying one they would rather not deal with if they can help it. This is more due to Bigmouth having NoSocialSkills if anything.
* ''WesternAnimation/SonicTheHedgehogSatAM'': Antoine, sometimes. While the other Freedom Fighters do not exactly hate him (Sonic might, but that's debatable), he does tend to annoy them at times due to his cowardly and arrogant nature. The fact that [[TheLoad he rarely contributes to the team and often screws up]] does not help.
* ''WesternAnimation/SouthPark'':
** [[Characters/SouthParkEricCartman Eric Cartman]], due to Proximity (South Park is a [[InformedSmallTown supposedly]] small town and he attends the same school as all the other kids), Seniority (they've known Cartman since preschool), occasionally Supervision (at least on [[ArchEnemy Kyle's]] part), Abuse (when Cartman is sent to juvie prison, the rest of the boys declare Clyde "the new fat kid" and start directing their weight-based insults at him) and Necessity (as awful as Cartman is, his manipulative cunning and his fat ass are both still sometimes needed). Not only do his three closest "friends" insult him and actively question why they still hang out with him, but as stated in "Breast Cancer Show Ever", the entire fourth grade class hates him almost as much as Stan, Kyle and Kenny do. Even [[TokenGoodTeammate Butters]] occasionally lets it slip that he does not truly like Cartman very much, being friendly to him presumably out of goodwill and fear. The boys are often divided on whatever keeps Cartman a part of their group. Kenny is at least able to explain that he pities Cartman as an unfeeling, horrible person and so allows him to stay because he knows he'll have no other friends otherwise; meanwhile, Stan and Kyle have no idea why they bother. Lampshaded in "Scott Tenorman Must Die":
--->'''Kyle:''' We just wanna warn you: Eric Cartman, the fourth grader, is goin' to try and trick you somehow into [[GroinAttack getting your wiener bitten off]] by a pony who lives at Denkins' ranch.\
'''Scott:''' How do you know?\
'''Kyle:''' 'Cause we're his friends.\
'''Scott:''' Then why are you telling me?\
'''Kyle:''' 'Cause we hate him.
*** After all, there's a ''reason'' the fourth grade class hates him:
--->'''Kyle''': Because he's a fat, racist, self-centered, intolerant, manipulating sociopath.
** [[Characters/SouthParkKyleBroflovski Kyle Broflovski]] may fall into this trope depending on the episode. In "South Park is Gay", he is shunned for not taking part in the metrosexual fad. In "The List," he was ranked last on the girls' (rigged) list of boys ranked 'Cutest to Ugliest' and tried to burn down the school because of it. Also, the kids get tired of his 'Y'know, I've learned something today' speeches from time to time.
--->'''Cartman:''' No gay speeches, Kyle!
** [[Characters/SouthParkStanMarsh Stan Marsh's]] [[TheCynic diagnosis of cynicism]] causes him to (temporarily) become this in "You're Getting Old."
** Craig claims that the whole group is seen like that by the rest of the 4th graders. Technically, they aren't hated (with the obvious exception of Cartman), but their status as {{Weirdness Magnet}}s makes it increasingly hard for the others to want to hang out with them unless absolutely necessary.
** [[Characters/SouthParkButtersStotch Butters Stotch]], to an extent (or just DependingOnTheWriter), though in this case, it's because he is an overly cheerful loser. This is especially evident while he serves as "the new Kenny" and the others [[WithFriendsLikeThese constantly abused him]]. [[NervousWreck Tweek]] suffered from this for a while after replacing him. In both cases, however, the other boys end up admitting some preference to them over Cartman.
* ''WesternAnimation/SpongeBobSquarePants'': Inverted with [[Characters/SpongeBobSquarePantsSquidwardTentacles Squidward Tentacles]], since he’s the friend who doesn’t like the others. He can’t stand [=SpongeBob=] and Patrick, but is forced to interact with them due to proximity (They’re his neighbors and [=SpongeBob=] is also his co-worker). With that said, there are times that show that deep down, he does actually care for them and [[BigBrotherInstinct will make sure to stand up for them if need be.]]
* ''WesternAnimation/StarWarsTheCloneWars'': Jar-Jar Binks. [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]] as nobody truly detests him, but even the people who like him are aware he is a clumsy and awkward guy who is probably going to mess things up. And then there's the Clone Captain assigned as Jar-Jar's bodyguard who finds him completely obnoxious but also useful in a fight, [[ObfuscatingStupidity mistakenly believing that Jar-Jar is doing it on purpose]]. Some fans consider this portrayal as [[RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap a step up for him]] compared to the films, as the characters now actually acknowledge that he is a pain to deal with.
* ''WesternAnimation/StarWarsRebels'': Chopper. Despite being oddly lazy for a droid, his skills are very useful. But since he is an ''asshole'' (also very unusual for a droid) who's actually sometimes put their lives in danger with his pranks, nobody actually likes him and [[TeamMom Hera]] has to prevent the rest of the crew from dismantling him.
* ''WesternAnimation/StarTrekProdigy'': Gwyn starts off as this, being the loyal daughter of the BigBad, she’s taken hostage in the crew’s escape and kept in the brig throughout the first few episodes.
* ''WesternAnimation/StevenUniverse'': [[Characters/StevenUniversePeridot Peridot]] becomes this after her MookFaceTurn; between her [[SmallNameBigEgo massive ego]], constant histrionics, HairTriggerTemper, and [[NoSocialSkills total lack of tact]], it's unsurprising that [[AllLovingHero Steven]] is the only one who can really get along with her at first. It takes a while for the Crystal Gems to start actually ''liking'' her rather than merely tolerate her existence, and even then, Steven and Amethyst are the only ones who hang out with her regularly. It's pretty telling that the other two [[SixthRanger Sixth Rangers]] -- [[spoiler:Bismuth and Lapis]] -- both have an easier time settling into the team than Peridot did, despite arguably having done far more to alienate the Crystal Gems prior to joining.
* ''WesternAnimation/SummerCampIsland'': Betsy Spellman is this amongst the counselors. While Alice and Susie are constantly cruel and causing mischief, [[TokenGoodTeammate Betsy is the nicest of them]], caring about the campers well-being and happiness, and stopping her fellow counselors' actions from escalating beyond mean-spirited pranks into anything actually harmful.
-->'''Susie:''' You know, sometimes I really hate you, Betsy...
* ''WesternAnimation/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles2012'':
** Michelangelo is often the most frowned-upon of the four turtles. Although his brothers do love him and messing with him is a one-way ticket to getting a shell-kicking, Mikey is often the butt at everyone's jokes and is the least respected of the turtles. Even when it comes time to team up, they express displeasure in teaming up with Mikey.
** Pigeon Pete is this even moreso than Mikey when it comes to the Mighty Mutanimals. Pigeon Pete is a very stupid and annoying character whose cravings for bread annoy those all around him. And unlike Mikey who can be [[CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass very competent in battle]], Pigeon Pete is a borderline JokeCharacter who often needs help rescuing rather than doing any of the fighting (with even Raph constantly complaining how useless and annoying he is). It's no wonder Pete was eventually kicked off the team and replaced with the ''slightly'' more useful Mondo Gecko.
** The Foot Clan has one of their own in Xever Montes, who is later mutated into Fishface. He's a psychopathic BloodKnight who tended to bicker with fellow member Chris Bradford over who would get to kill the turtles, and even after Shredder's inner circle adds more lieutenants, they don't particularly like him either. The only reason he's even kept around, competent fighting skills aside, is his connection to the Purple Dragons.
* Robin from ''WesternAnimation/TeenTitansGo''. The other Titans are generally annoyed by him for his insecure ControlFreak tendencies and seem to allow him to be leader out of pity. Raven even admits that he is her least favorite friend in "Thanksgiving," and in "Robin Backwards," they freely admit that they find nothing likable about him.
* ''WesternAnimation/ThomasAndFriends'': Even in a group [[TrueCompanions as close as they are]], the Steam Team have these types of engines. Gordon, James, and Henry are the most prominent examples due to their collective [[SmallNameBigEgo narcissism]] and {{Jerkass}} behavior. Thomas was also this in the early episodes, being a cheeky BrattyHalfPint who [[AttentionWhore wanted attention]]; while CharacterDevelopment kicked in, that didn't stop him from [[AesopAmnesia falling into his old ways time and time again]], [[DependingOnTheWriter to a degree.]]
* ''Franchise/{{Transformers}}'':
** ''Franchise/TransformersGenerationOne:''
*** The Dinobots for the Autobots in general, since they are perpetually violent {{Blood Knight}}s who [[TeethClenchedTeamwork only just barely respect the authority of their superiors]]. They truly believe in the Autobot cause, they just have their own way of doing things and do not especially care what others think about it. They are mainly kept around because they are incredibly powerful and, despite rarely getting along with other teams, steadfastly loyal.
*** Mirage, Jetfire, and Drift are all generally viewed with distrust and unease by the other Autobots. The latter two used to be Decepticons before [[HeelFaceTurn defecting]], and [[NeverLiveItDown few are willing to let them live it down]]. The former has always been an Autobot, but his dislike of violence and not-so-secret wish for the two factions to make peace has led to others suspecting him of being a Decepticon sympathizer.
*** Nobody seems to much like Huffer, because he is a whiny little jerk. Gears mostly averts this, though, as despite also being a complainer, the rest of the group find him funny.
*** You’d be hard-pressed to find a Decepticon that likes [[TheStarscream Starscream]]; rightfully seen as TheNeidermeyer, his backstabbing and general {{Jerkass}} personality means he has few consistent allies, and those he does have are mainly in it for their own gain. [[BunnyEarsLawyer His competence as Air Commander]] is the main reason he is kept around, and even that only gets him so far.
** ''WesternAnimation/BeastWars'':
*** Though it's understandable given his EnemyMine status, the rest of the Maximals aren't exactly close with the Predacon traitor Dinobot. His vicious and churlish behavior, complete dismissal of Maximal values, and him making it clear he ''is'' still a Predacon despite their alliance keeps him at a distance, though they at least respect his combat prowess and experience as a soldier. [[spoiler:However, he and Rattrap eventually become close friends in a [[VitriolicBestFriends very warped kind of way]] and the entire Maximal team ends up hailing him as a noble hero after he [[HeroicSacrifice fights to the death]] to [[SugarWiki/AwesomeMoments defeat the entire Predacon team]] to defend the early humans]].
*** None of the Maximals really get along with Depth Charge, due to him being a brooding, antisocial {{Jerkass}} who [[NotInThisForYourRevolution cares more about his personal mission than fighting Megatron]]. It does not help that he is also the SixthRanger, meaning he disrupted the dynamic they had settled into. [[spoiler:Optimus is the only one who's significantly affected by his death.]]
*** Tarantulas is this for Megatron's crew, due to being a [[TheStarscream scheming backstabber]] who regularly tries to manipulate the others, as well as his sadistic tendencies being seen as creepy [[EvenEvilHasStandards even by Predacon standards]]. There's also [[SarcasmMode the tiny detail]] of him being [[spoiler:TheMole for the Predacon Secret Police]]. The only member of the team that seems to get along with him to any degree is Quickstrike, but that's only because Quickstrike is too dumb to realize when Tarantulas is manipulating him.
*** While most of the Predacons manage at least one VillainousFriendship, Scorponok seems to be given very little respect by the group. The other Predacons don't like him because he's the only one who actively tries to please Megatron, meaning they see him as a suckup YesMan. Megatron, on the other hand, sees Scorponok as a moron with a generally terrible success rate whose sole good trait is that he's too stupid and unambitious to consider betraying him.
*** Megatron himself, despite him being the leader of the Predacon crew. Though clever and fairly charismatic, he's also a BadBoss who [[SurroundedByIdiots bears not-unjustified naked contempt for everyone around him]] and tends to treat his men like dirt. Most of them also have no problem with trying to betray or overthrow him on a regular basis, with the exceptions being Scorponok ([[DumbMuscle moronic thug]]) and Inferno ([[PsychoSupporter completely insane]]). He's a mix of Necessity and Control, as despite being largely hated, he's still their leader and has proven many a time that [[VetinariJobSecurity he's the only one with the skills, knowledge, and combat prowess to adequately fill the role]] -- everyone else is too weak, too crazy, too stupid, or even ''less'' trustworthy.
** ''Anime/TransformersArmada'': Thrust for the Decepticons, since he is a rude, backstabbing coward who ends up [[spoiler:trying to side with [[EldritchAbomination Unicron]].]] Blurr is this for the Autobots at the start, due to being stand-offish and having (self-admitted) [[NoSocialSkills trouble working with others]]. None of them outright hate him, but Side Swipe and Hot Shot are the only ones who consistently get along with him.
** ''WesternAnimation/TransformersAnimated'': Starscream, Blackarachnia, Lockdown, Swindle, Wasp(inator), Meltdown, and Porter C. Powell. All of these characters are detested in-universe due to their selfish traits (or mutual enmity, in the case of Blackarachnia), but top of the list is ''Autobot Commander'' Sentinel Prime, an absolute ''Jerkass'' who almost ''nobody'' wants to deal with. Optimus Prime's crew and the Decepticons already have a well-established dislike for him, but even Sentinel's own subordinates and superiors find their collective patience running thin with him.
** ''WesternAnimation/TransformersPrime'': Starscream's ChronicBackstabbingDisorder once again ranks poorly on the Decepticon social ladder despite his high ranking, but his few equals in this regard are fellow Decepticons Airachnid and Knock Out. The former is for her unpredictability and her primarily ''nominal'' affiliation with their ranks, as she is mostly in it for personal benefits. The latter is simply just a vain and egotistical DirtyCoward who would rather send others to do the dirty work rather than risk any damage to his appearance. Unlike his aerial peers, however, Knock Out actually has a baseline level of respect from the other Decepticons due to being one of their ''very few'' medical officers (and despite how he presents himself he actually rivals ''Ratchet'' in terms of skills), though his late partner Breakdown was one of the few to show this regularly.
** ''WesternAnimation/TransformersCyberverse'': The seekers in general have this reputation in the series, with the only one of them shown with ''any'' form of decency being killed on the spot by Bludgeon the first chance he got. Outside of Megatron's inner circle, however, Clobber and Lockdown are constantly looked down upon by the rest of their faction, and despite being named characters are typically only seen as low-level grunts.
* ''WesternAnimation/TUFFPuppy'': Whenever the three main recurring villains Verminious Snaptrap, Bird Brain and the Chameleon team up, the Chameleon is usually treated like dirt by the other two. One of the most notable instances is in the episode "Dead or a Lie", where Dudley tries to avoid Kitty's anger at him eating both of the cupcakes by lying that the Chameleon poisoned one of them and he made the sacrifice of eating the poisoned cupcake before it got to Kitty. When the Chameleon goes along with the lie, this earns him Snaptrap and Bird Brain's respect, but they both drop the Chameleon like a hot potato as soon as they learn that he didn't really poison Dudley.
* Cal in ''WesternAnimation/{{Undergrads}}'' seems to be tolerated ''at best'' by the other friends in his group, as Nitz lives with him (and finds himself frequently annoyed with his behaviour), Gimpy doesn't really interact all that much with him, and Rocko flat out hates him. The fact that he's a brainless [[ReallyGetsAround sex machine]] probably doesn't help matters.
