* Needless to say, and even though many would consider this a funny moment solely due to the Doorknob's freaked-out reactions, the part where Alice turns giant and starts crying so much she [[MakesSenseInContext floods a room]] can be this.
* When Alice is bullied by the flowers, her voice sounds at times as if she was going to break into tears from being humiliated by them. And it's not like one could have blamed her.
** In the Latin Spanish dub, Alice actually is audibly crying.
* The White Rabbit having his pocket watch tampered with and subsequently destroyed by the Mad Hatter and the Hare. Not only was he unable to do anything to stop them, his reaction after that is genuinely heartbreaking, like a child whose favorite toy just got broken. And it was his unbirthday present, no less!
** Also, the poor guy (supposedly) lost his house before that thanks to Alice and the Dodo.
* Alice's "Very Good Advice" song, showing her character development over her mistake of wanting to be in a crazy world like Wonderland and not appreciating her real life, and it gives the film at least one sad moment, especially for how zany and off-the-wall the film is. During the song, Alice expresses how ashamed she feels of herself, her remorse about rejecting her real life, and her deep regret of her wish. Even all the UglyCute birds in the Tulgey Wood start [[EverybodyCries crying along with her]], while fading away in the process. To be clear: the previous moments on this page could be construed as comical; in this one, not even the comic relief can keep it together.
** The way that Kathryn Beaumont (the actor voicing Alice) delivers the line, "Someday, I'll give myself" can almost be heard as "Someday, I'll kill myself"; it might be a misheard line, but the idea that this child feels so hopeless and distraught that she would consider suicide is so heartbreaking.
*** It gets worse if you take this misheard line in context of a point near the start of the original book that's pretty much glossed over in a single sentence: Alice often scolds herself so severely she cries, and she once hit herself (termed "trying to box her own ears" by the narrative) as punishment in a croquet game against herself. Considering that one sentence mentioned both, one might wonder if [[SelfHarm that instance of physical harm]] [[FridgeHorror wasn't a one-time occurrence.]]
** As the poor girl tells the Cheshire Cat, she is so depressed she no longer cares about the White Rabbit and only wants to go back home, with the line "I want to go home!" being delivered in a particularly heart-wrenching way.
** Made all the more frustrating when side 1 of the 1982 laserdisc release actually ends after this song just as the Cheshire Cat begins to show up.
** The 1958 album version sung by Darlene Gillespie is no less heartbreaking, especially [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pa7-GEaPgrY&t=294s this German-dubbed version from the 70s]] with Alice sobbing in-between lyrics.
* You can't help but feel bad for the Mother Oyster once she learns her children have all been eaten. Though it may be moot since they appear, alive and well, near the end.
* The song "In a World of my Own" starts off rather happy. But near the ending Alice sings about she could hear a song that she could understand. It's sounds as though she's not the most popular outside of the story.
* The ending to the movie in general. We're left with a question whether Alice will dream about Wonderland again. If the other hand is the hand the movie takes, she may never see them again.
