''Tokusou Exceedraft'' is the tenth entry in the ''Series/MetalHeroes'' franchise, airing from 1992-1993. It is the third part of its ''Rescue Heroes'' trilogy, though its connection to the previous two series is minimum at best.

The story centers on another rescue team, the Exceedraft team. Their ''all-human'' members, Hayato, Kosaku, and Ken team-up to strike at disasters that grip their fair city.

!!The main heroes are:
* Hayato Kano/'''[=DraftRedder=]''': TheHero.
* Kosaku Muraoka/'''[=DraftBlues=]''': [[TheSmartGuy Smart]] [[TheLancer Lancer]].
* Ken Okuma/'''[=DraftKeace=]'''[[note]]Keace is a wordplay on ''ki'', which is Japanese for yellow[[/note]]: TheBigGuy who is a trained Martial Artist. He is also the [[KidAppealCharacter youngest member]] on the team.

----
!!Recurring ''Metal Hero'' tropes include:
* {{BFG}}: [=HeavyCyclone=]
* BigBad: Towards the end, [[spoiler: {{Satan}}. They don’t come much bigger than that.]]
* ByThePowerOfGrayskull: "Jisso!" ("Boot Up", at least according to fansubs; other fansubs translate it as "Implement".) However, they just say it when turning the key to the compartment that holds the suits, which they must then put on manually.
* CoolCar: Varias 7, Redder's personal car, a modified Chevrolet Corvette C4, that is equipped with various modes and weapons.

!!''Tokusou Exceedraft'' provides examples of the following tropes:
* ArcVillain: While ''Exceedraft'' lacks a true BigBad, it did have several villains who took the lead for a different section of the show. The Red Spade are this for episodes 3-8, Carlos Togo is this for episodes 19-20 and 28-29, and [[spoiler:Iwao Daimon]] for the show's final stretch.
* BackForTheFinale: Shunsuke Masaki, the BigGood of the [[Series/TokkeiWinspector two]] [[Series/TokkyuuShireiSolbrain previous]] "Rescue Police" shows, appears for the show's three part final arc.
* BadSanta: Episodes 43 and 44 deal with a trio of supernatural Santas abducting children. It turns out later [[spoiler:that they're less "bad" and more "WellIntentionedExtremist Santas", as they want to save the children from a coming calamity. Then a group of evil, demonic Santas appear to steal the children and fight the Santas, playing this trope straight.]]
* CanonWelding: The appearance of Shunsuke Masaki in the final three episodes firmly places the show in the continuity of ''Winspector'' and ''Solbrain''. The ''Space Squad'' films later establish Excreedraft (and the other Rescue Police) as being in the same universe as the rest of the ''Metal Heroes'' franchise and the ''Super Sentai'' series.
* ColorCodedForYourConvenience: The three Exceedraft members all have distinct colors, making it easy to distinguish them from each other.
* CopShow
* FantasyKitchenSink: Later episodes focused on increasingly more supernatural plots, resulting in things like [[spoiler:EnergyBeing aliens, angels and {{Satan}}]] all coexisting with each other.
* LaserBlade: E.M Blade, Redder's personal close-combat weapon.
* LawOfChromaticSuperiority: Hayato is Red and thus TheLeader.
* MidSeasonUpgrade: Hayato is later upgraded to [=SyncRedder=].
* OddballInTheSeries: ''Exceedraft'' has a lot of oddities compared to ''Winspector'' and ''Solbrain'', such as no RobotBuddy and an increasing focus on supernatural plotlines in the second half. Part of this is due to it originally being planned as its own thing, as opposed to another Rescue Police show.
* PowerArmor: All three heroes have them.
* PutOnABus: Episode 11 sees Katsuragi leaving to assist the ICPO, leaving him absent for a stretch of episodes. [[TheBusCameBack He returns in episode 18]].
* {{Rescue}}
* {{Retool}}: Around mid-series, Toei decides to go back to the sci-fi angle with an odd plot about an alien hunter seeking help from the Exceedraft team seeking his nemesis, Carlos. Then there's [[spoiler:a plot involving Draftredder vs. {{Satan}}...]]. Afterwards the team fights a lot of laser-spewing enemies.
* SaveTheVillain: As with the previous two Rescue Police teams, Exceedraft always try to save the villain of each episode.
