->''"Welcome to Gringotts! Perfectly safe, as you can see..."''
-->-- '''Bill Weasley'''

''Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts'' is an indoor roller coaster/dark ride hybrid manufactured by Creator/{{Intamin}} that serves as the centerpiece attraction to ''[[Ride/TheWizardingWorldOfHarryPotter The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Diagon Alley]]'' at [[Ride/UniversalStudios Universal Studios Florida]].

The ride is set directly during the events of ''[[Film/HarryPotterandtheDeathlyHallows Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2]]'' when Harry, Ron, and Hermione are breaking into Bellatrix's vault. Meanwhile, the guests are going down into the Gringotts Wizarding Bank, to find their respective vault. However, they run into Bellatrix, who initially believes that they are responsible for breaking into her vault. The riders are then sent into pure mayhem as the main trio along with Bill Weasley, desperately attempt to rescue them.

The attraction opened on July 8, 2014, along with the rest of the aforementioned Diagon Alley area, replacing the former ''Ride/{{JAWS}}'' ride.

!!Tropes shown in ''Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts'' include:

* AlternativeContinuity: The entire ride provides an alternate experience from the events at the bank as portrayed in either the [[Literature/HarryPotterAndTheDeathlyHallows book]] or the [[Film/HarryPotterAndTheDeathlyHallows film]]. Among the changes: Voldemort and Bellatrix showing up to Gringotts while the trio are there, rather than learning of the break in afterwards; Bill still going to work rather than being in hiding at Shell Cottage; the freed dragon dragging a train full of new Gringotts account-holders.
* ADayInTheLimelight: The ride stars Bill Weasley, a character mostly omitted from the films. The main trio only shows up briefly.
* ArtisticLicensePhysics: The finale of the ride involves the trio chaining the Gringotts vehicle to Ironbelly, and then having him fly the riders out. Such a situation would not go as smoothly as the ride makes it out to be, as there's no way the vehicle would move in perfect symmetry with the dragon.
* BarrierBustingBlow: Riders are sent into a vault where it's believed that they'll be safe, only for Voldemort and Bellatrix to burst in through the walls mere seconds later.
* BeatThemAtTheirOwnGame: Voldemort's fireball is destroyed by Ironbelly's fire breath. Fighting fire with fire, indeed.
* BigBad: Bellatrix and Voldemort.
* BigDamnHeroes: Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Ironbelly are this in the finale.
* BusFullOfInnocents: The guests take on this role in the ride, being normal bystanders that got caught up in a serious misunderstanding.
* CanonForeigner: The security trolls, while appearing in the books, weren't featured in any of the films; thus making this their first live-action appearance.
* ColdBloodedTorture: When they won't tell him where Harry is, Voldemort attempts to torture the riders by ''burning them''. He's foiled in the end, however. Bellatrix Lestrange also attempts multiple times to lash the riders with lightning to get them to tell her where Harry is.
* ContinuitySnarl:
** The ride takes place during ''[[Literature/HarryPotterAndTheDeathlyHallows Deathly Hallows]]'', and numerous news posts in the queue indicate Dumbledore's death and Harry's fugitive status. This can be confusing if you ride this attraction before ''Ride/HarryPotterAndTheForbiddenJourney'', in which a living Dumbledore features prominently.
** Gringotts' use of safety goggles is never shown in either the books or movies. Though this probably falls under WillingSuspensionOfDisbelief, since there's no other way to justify the 3D glasses story-wise.
* ConvectionSchmonvection: The lava-filled portion of Gringotts has portions of the track positioned dangerously close to the lava, enough that it would likely make it melt.
* DeathGlare: Voldemort gives a particularly creepy one to the riders as Bellatrix is making the vehicles go backwards.
* DemotedToExtra: Compared to ''Forbidden Journey'', the main trio's role in this ride is very limited; which may partially have to do with Creator/DanielRadcliffe and Creator/EmmaWatson being Darrin'd.
* DisneyVillainDeath: Happens to one of the security trolls.
* EasterEgg: In the vault riders are sent to hide in, there's boxes that are labeled with the initials of several employees from Universal Creative and Warner Bros.
* FireWaterJuxtaposition: When Ironbelly breathes fires towards the riders, Bill summons up a ball of water in order to protect them.
* {{Fireballs}}: Voldemort forms one together and sends it towards the riders, only for it to be stopped by Ironbelly.
* HopeSpot: A goblin directs the riders towards a vault [[note]]Even though it's not directly said by the characters, the vault is meant to be Sirius Black's[[/note]], stating that they'll be safe in there. Voldemort and Bellatrix just so happen to blast their way into this room.
* IWasNeverHere: Subverted. When one of the goblins is annoyed by Bill interrupting the tour, the latter at first tells the guests, "You haven't seen me.", but then changes his mind and decides to help guide the guests to their vault.
* IllKillYou: As Voldemort prepares to torment the riders for answers regarding Harry, Bellatrix adds, "Yes, tell us! Or we'll '''destroy''' you!"
* {{Irony}}: Throughout the attraction guests are constantly reassured that Gringotts is among the safest places in the Wizarding World, yet the amount chaos they end up going through seems to suggest anything but.
* JustInTime: When Bill Weasley saves the riders from plummeting to their doom and when the trio just narrowly save them from being tortured by Voldemort.
* LetsGetOutOfHere: After Voldemort and Bellatrix flee, Harry, with Ron and Hermione, tells the riders, "We'll get you out of here!", and then gets Ironbelly to pull the guests to safety; before making a hasty retreat themselves to continue the rest of the film's plot.
* LongList: In his safety spiel, the goblin portrait has a particularly long list of people who shouldn't ride.
-->'''Portrait:''' Expectant mothers or individuals with heart, neck, or back conditions, or abnormal blood pressure, medical sensitivity to fog or strobe effects, recent surgeries, those prone to dizziness or motion sickness, or those who have any other conditions that may be aggravated by this experience...should not ride.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Harry, Ron, and Hermione first show up to give Bill Weasley orders to get the riders out safely, but their presence alerts the security trolls, who attack the riders and split them up from Bill.
* NoTalkingOrPhonesWarning: Just before boarding the lift to the ride station, one of the moving goblin portraits gives guests the safety spiel, explaining that the experience they're about to embark on can be described as a "high-speed roller coaster ride" and lists the types of people who should avoid riding.
* PaddleballShot: During the Voldemort/Bellatrix confrontation, the ride makes a particularly special use of 3D when Nagini lunges ''right in the faces'' of the riders.
* PunctuatedPounding: When Bellatrix confronts the guests a second time, she shouts at them in-between zapping their vehicle several times.
-->'''Bellatrix:''' WHERE IS POTTER?! ''(zap)'' WHERE DID HE GO?! ''(zap)'' ANSWER ME!! ''(zap)''
* RuleOfSymbolism: The lava-filled cavern of Gringotts is pretty blatantly meant to represent Hell, even though there's no explanation given for why exactly would Gringotts have such a cavern.
* SceneryPorn: As with ''Forbidden Journey'', the queue line for this ride is full of details replicated from the films to give visitors an immersive experience. Visitors enter through a replica of the Gringotts bank lobby complete with goblins behind towering desks, chandeliers, and tile floors.
* SimultaneousArcs: The guests' story of trying to find their vault ends up being intertwined with the main trio's story of breaking in and out of Gringotts.
* SpectacularSpinning: The bank's security trolls spin the ride vehicle as they push it away.
* VillainExitStageLeft: When faced with the sheer size and literal firepower of Ironbelly, Voldemort and Bellatrix are quick to turn into black smoke and flee.
* WeHaveWaysOfMakingYouTalk: When the guests won't give up Harry's whereabouts, Voldemort attempts to torture them in order to get the information he needs.
-->'''Voldemort:''' Perhaps a little dose of pain, to help you remember...
* WhyWontYouDie: At one point, Bellatrix exclaims to the riders, "''I thought I got rid of you, muggle-borns!?''"
