5	* BadassBoast: After the elimination ceremony in which Courtney almost got voted off, she and her team walk past the Screaming Gophers' celebration party. Courtney turns to the camera, asks if it's on, and vows that this party is just for the moment and that it will be she who'll leave the island as the winner.
6	* BigNo: Lindsay, when Courtney suggests to the other Killer Bass to vote Tyler off, much to her embarrassment.
7	* BitchInSheepsClothing: Courtney shows herself to be a helpful and insightful if somewhat stuck-up girl until the end of the opening two-parter. After a humiliating loss, she takes a look at the victory party the Screaming Gophers are throwing and turns to the camera. She drops the pretense and gives a menacing BadassBoast that no one will prevent her from being the winner in the end.
8	* ChirpingCrickets: Brigette asks all contestants who wants to jump off the 1,000-foot cliff first. The contestants are silent and the crickets are loud.
9	* ControlFreak: Courtney tries and fails to micromanage the Killer Bass, which, along with refusing to jump in the first part of the challenge, results in her being in the bottom two, only being saved by Ezekiel's misogynistic comments.
10	* CurbStompBattle: With the carts they won from the first challenge and with the Bass' inability to work together as a team as well as their opponents, the Screaming Gophers easily win the first challenge.
11	* DeusExMachina: Courtney is on the chopping block by the Killer Bass for her poor project management skills and refusal to jump, Duncan also notes that even though DJ didn't jump either, he could still be more valuable in more physical challenges in the future. She's then spared from being the first boot by Ezekiel's [[InnocentlyInsensitive sexist comments about men being stronger than women]], even when Geoff tried to give him an out for it, he doesn't take the hint and makes it worse by saying that men are smarter than them as well.
12	* DiggingYourselfDeeper: Geoff tries his best to smooth over Ezekiel's sexist comments by offering that Ezekiel at least doesn't think that boys are smarter than girls. Ezekiel doesn't take the hint and declares that boys are, in fact, smarter than girls. Not only does Ezekiel's insistent insensitivity ensure that all the female Killer Bass vote him off, but several guys are also hinted to have no interest keeping someone with his views in the team.
13	* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: At the marshmallow ceremony, the Killer Bass come up to Chris to get their marshmallows and skewer them on sticks. In the following episodes they just grab them off the plate, and starting with Episode 6 Chris just tosses the marshmallows to everyone.
14	* EyeScream: While the teams are transporting the crates, Courtney gets her eye stung by a bug, and it swells up and turns pink.
15	* FingerMuzzle: As the dorky Cody comes back to flirt with Bridgette, Lindsay, and especially Leshawna, Leshawna puts her finger over his mouth and amiably tells him to cease.
16	* {{Foreshadowing}}: While standing at the edge of the cliff, Lindsay whines to Chris that she thought the challenge would be a talent contest. Just a couple episodes later, "Not Quite Famous" features a talent contest as its main challenge.
17	* GenreSavvy: Heather tells Lindsay she made an effort to call a truce with Leshawna because KeepingTheEnemyClose. She says she learned it watching other reality shows.
18	* HaHaHaNo: Chris has a good affirming laugh when Lindsay, afraid to jump off a 1,000-foot cliff, states that she thought it'd be a talent contest. Then comes the "no" and Lindsay resigns herself to jump.
19	* HappyDance: Leshawna gives the Screaming Gophers' victory party some flair with a victory dance and cheer. Noah and Owen join her.
20	* InnocentlyInsensitive: Ezekiel doesn't understand why people would be upset over him saying that guys are stronger and better at sports than girls, because that's what his parents taught him and they've not allowed him to learn from anyone but them.
21	* JerkassHasAPoint: When debating who to vote off, Duncan points out both Courtney and DJ refused to jump, which is the first reason the team's lost that day. Duncan also points out that DJ's strength could be useful in future challenges, whereas Courtney's management skills have demonstrably fallen flat.
22	* KnowYourVines: Katie and Sadie unknowingly squat in poison ivy to pee. They realize their error when their butts start itching like mad and Bridgette deduces what the cause of it is.
23	* KnuckleCracking: Owen is the last one to jump the 1,000-foot cliff. If he jumps, his team wins, so scared as Owen is he resolves to do it. He prepares a run-up, cracks his knuckles by tightening his hands into fists, screams, and goes for it.
24	* LastSecondWordSwap: When Courtney suggests voting Tyler off, Lindsay yells, "NO!" Her teammates look at her strangely, and she changes it to "I mean...no...salt! There's no salt on the table! Bummer."
25	* TheLoad: Courtney because of her refusal to jump and failed attempt at being project manager for the Bass.
26	* NatureTinkling: Tyler, Katie, and Sadie all need to take a whiz before the team reaches the camp grounds. With no other options, they all go behind some trees, Tyler one way, Katie and Sadie together another. It all works out for Tyler, but the girls come to regret peeing amidst poison ivy when their butts get itchy.
27	* NeckLift: Ezekiel angers his female teammates with sexist remarks. At the mention that girls sometimes need help keeping up, Eva goes for his neck and lifts him up with both her arms. Upon her questioning if he still thinks they need help, Ezekiel admits reconsideration.
28	* NoSocialSkills: Ezekiel offends the Killer Bass team with a sexist comment about guys being stronger than girls.
29	* NotHelpingYourCase: Geoff tries to defuse the tension brought about by Ezekiel's sexist comments by offering that he at least doesn't think that guys are the smarter gender. Ezekiel, socially inept due to his upbringing, corrects Geoff that he does, in fact, think that.
30	* NowThatsUsingYourTeeth: Once the crates are brought over to the cabins, the next part of the challenge is for the contestants to open them using only their teeth. It's tough and painful, but all the crates do get opened.
31	* PetTheDog: With Katie and Sadie begging Chris to be on the same team, Izzy offers to switch teams to make it happen.
32	* PlankGag: Bridgette twice hits Harold with a plank: once when she picks it up and another time when she turns around with it on her shoulder.
33	* PlotArmor: Ezekiel's misogynistic comments were likely the only thing saving Courtney from elimination.
34	* PoliticallyIncorrectHero: Ezekiel isn’t much of a hero, but he is one of the least antagonistic members of the cast. This doenst prevent him from spouting sexism during the voting process… on a team with 5 girls who have far less reason to argue with each other than the guys.
35	* PunBasedTitle: The episode's alternate title is "The Not So Great Outdoors - Part 2", a play on the phrase "the great outdoors".
