With Wyatt busy with the now-alive Jessica, Lucy agrees to take Flynn with them to Salem on July 19, 1692, in the middle of the [[SalemIsWitchCountry Salem Witch Trials]]. Lucy is surprised to learn that, in addition to the eight women fated to be hanged that day, Abiah "Abby" Franklin, the future mother of Creator/BenjaminFranklin, has also been accused of witchcraft and sentenced to be hanged. Then Carol appears, sent by Keynes to take care of Lucy in order to prove her loyalty, and accuses Lucy of being a witch as well, resulting in her and Rufus's incarceration, while Flynn is busy looking for a weapon in the puritanical town. Carol begs Lucy to return to Rittenhouse, but Lucy refuses. Thanks to Flynn, they manage to escape and free Abby and the other women, although Flynn points out that Lucy is changing history by allowing the eight women to live.

In the present, Wyatt brings Jessica to the bunker in order to tell her the truth. While she wants a divorce (their marriage has been on the rocks for the past several years), he explains that to him she's been dead for 6 years and begs her for one last chance.

After getting a man killed in the past, Rufus begs Jiya not to tell him about any more of her premonitions in order to avoid any [[SelfFulfillingProphecy predestination paradoxes]]. Keynes takes Carol off the Lucy assignment and puts Emma on it.

* BurnTheWitch: Flynn points out that the idea that witches were burned in Salem is false, they were hanged. And they weren't really witches, just women (and some men) who didn't conform or simply had a conflict with someone else in the town.
* LoveTriangle: Lucy, Wyatt, and Jessica.
* KangarooCourt: The Salem witch trials are presented this way. Despite Abby pointing out various plausible reasons for any of the so-called "proof" of witchcraft, the judges are determined to execute those women. In addition, Abby, Lucy, and Rufus are sentenced to hang along with those women, even though they've been merely accused without a chance to defend themselves. Lucy also points out that many of the accusations were made by people with ulterior motives, such as Abby's sister, who had a property dispute with a neighbor, which she resolved by accusing him of witchcraft.
* OffingTheOffspring: Keynes wants Carol to do it in order to prove her loyalty to his cause.
* RetGone:
** Rittenhouse wants to erase Ben Franklin by having his mother declared a witch and hanged over a decade before his birth. Lucy explains that this is because Franklin popularized the idea of questioning authority.
** Inverted with Jessica, who was saved by a Rittenhouse agent, likely to distract Wyatt.
* RippleEffectProofMemory: A somewhat tragic instance of the use of this trope. Because he comes from a timeline where Jessica was killed six years ago, Wyatt doesn't remember the last six years of his marriage with Jessica in the new timeline.
