!!Tropes in this episode:
* ArcWords: "Family sticks together".
* AwfulTruth: Captain found out too late Cassandra betrayed Rapunzel, and is unwilling to face her as she is now.
* BadLiar: Every time Rapunzel assumes Child!Cassandra is going to do something bad but then it turns out to be perfectly innocent, she follows it with an unconvincing lie, such as "I was trying to protect you from a bee". Neither the Captain nor Cassandra buy it.
* TheBusCameBack: This is the first time the Captain of the Guards has been seen since Season 2, and the Island surely changed him.
* CallBack:
** Rapunzel and Eugene have personal experience with the evil magic on the Island of the Lorbs, and thus are immediately suspicious of Cass being a four-year-old again.
** Cassandra and the Enchanted Girl return to the Great Tree to look for more incantations which can be used to unlock the Moonstone's power.
** The Cass copies show every incarnation of Cass there's ever been, from bird!Cass ("[[Recap/TangledTheSeriesS2E05Freebird Freebird]]") to kid!Cass ("[[Recap/TangledTheSeriesS2E18YoureKiddingMe You're Kidding Me!]]")
* CastsNoShadow: The copies of Cassandra conjured by the fountain have no shadows, which aside from Cass suddenly regressing to a four-year-old is the first hint that something evil is afoot.
* {{Cliffhanger}}: Towards the end of the episode, Cassandra and the Enchanted Girl plot to take the Demanitus Scroll, which just so happens to be in ''Varian'''s possession...
* ConservationOfNinjutsu: Cass is a skilled fighter on her own, but a small army of them get beat by Rapunzel and Eugene without much effort. The main reason they start to win was just due to the sheer number of them exhausting the two. Possibly justified in that they are magical copies and not the real Cassandra.
* ContinuityNod:
** The episode opens with Rapunzel reminding her father of some of the show's previous events.
** All of the Cassandra Clones are dressed up in different outfits she has worn over the series.
* ExorcistHead: Little Cassandra is seen bending her neck in an unnatural way to face Pascal early in the episode, complete with the sound of sinew being twisted.
* FreezeFrameBonus: Doubling as a PunnyName, the Lorbs' library has a sign declaring it as the Lorbrary.
* JackassGenie: The Lorb fountain grants a wish for whoever throws a coin in, but nine days later twists that wish to evil purposes.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: Cassandra's Owl has always been [[UndyingLoyalty by her side]], [[MyMasterRightOrWrong through thick and thin]]. If the loyal creature is no longer with her and instead fled to Rapunzel, she's clearly reaching a point where she's no longer the same Cass who befriended and loved him.
* RaiseHimRightThisTime: The Captain intends to do this with the four-year-old Cass he conjured using the fountain, but is convinced by Rapunzel that she will never be real and he shouldn't give up on his actual daughter.
* ShoutOut: The Cassandras getting dusted after Captain revokes his wish is similar to how [[Film/AvengersInfinityWar Thanos' victims got dusted when he snapped half of all life in the universe out of existence]].
* UndeathlyPallor: Prolonged exposure to the Moonstone has caused Cassandra's skin to turn ashy.
* UngratefulBitch: Only ''slightly'' downplayed. Cassandra's resentment against her adoptive father is understandable considering he hid from her who her mother was and had no intention of telling her. However, she ''completely'' ignores the fact that ''he'' willingly took her in after Gothel outright abandoned her and was a much better and loving parent than Gothel ever was. She even goes as far as to ''attack'' him and accuse him of only being selfish.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: It was stated in "Rapunzel's Return" that the Captain left with several guards to look for Rapunzel, but since he was the only one in the Maze... what happened to the men he brought with him?
