17	* ChronicHeroSyndrome: Although Sonic decides to quit being a hero and retire after getting sick of everyone's ungrateful attitude, once things really start to get serious when the Lightning Bolt Society cause a stampede of sheep in town he can't help but jump in. This is lampshaded and exploited by Eggman, who knows that is he were to attack the village right away after hearing of Sonic's retirement, then Sonic would simply come out of retirement immediately and stop him, and so chooses to wait for Sonic to act first and strike when he least expects it.

27	* HolierThanThou: Amy, big time. She thinks she can train others in being sensitive, forcing all her friends to attend her seminars, while she is being incredibly insensitive to Sonic herself and does nothing to defend him from others.
28	* {{Hypocrite}}: The old Monkey berates Sonic for calling Mike just a guy. Then when Sonic lets him have his way and tag along, only to get injured, the old Monkey throws another fit, saying that it was irresponsible of Sonic and that Mike is just a guy.
29	* IMeantToDoThat: After Sonic saves the day, Amy claims that she knew if they left him alone long enough he'd step up and save the day. Sonic passive-aggressively calls out this {{blatant lie\|s}}.

34	* JerkassHasAPoint: Sonic's argument that Mike shouldn't have been allowed to join the heroes' fight against Eggman is seen as insensitive by the villagers. However, Sonic is absolutely in the right: Mike has no powers or fighting skills and his most useful action in not just this episode but the entire show is warning Sonic of a sneak attack by Eggman.
35	* KarmaHoudini: Amy and Knuckles turn on Sonic and spend the entire episode insulting and lecturing him. Unlike the villagers, they don't apologize and receive no punishment for it.
36	* MediumAwareness: Sonic mentions saving the village "every week". As virtually the entire show centers here, it makes sense.
37	* MediumShiftGag: Sonic, waking up from several inner ''Happy Places'' goes one too many...into a live action clip of a guy taking out the trash in a bad Sonic costume.

39	* PokeThePoodle: When the Lightning Bolt Society hears that Sonic has quit, they decide to do such evil deeds as... overturning toilet paper in the restroom and pouring juice from a juice box into a glass.

Orbot is not impressed by this idea, but Eggman is proven right when the Lightning Bolt Society unleash a stampede of sheep in town and Sonic arrives to stop it. Eggman decides that is the perfect time to attack since Sonic is distracted, and it would have worked if Mike hadn't of warned Sonic.

As a result, Sonic has a complete outburst and furiously storms out of the group, and following that, he has a temporary retirement.
45	* SaveTheJerk: Even though the villagers are self-righteous hypocrites and extremely ungrateful and petty, Sonic still comes out of retirement and saves them as soon as they’re in danger again.
46	* SelfDeprecation: When the villagers apologize to Sonic for how they’d treated him, Old Monkey says that they were wrong and Sonic "is" better than them.
47	* ThrowTheDogABone: After Sonic comes out of retirement and saves the villagers again even though they had been acting like [[UngratefulBastard Ungrateful Bastards]] to him, they cheer for him and admit they were wrong about him.
48	* TitleDrop: Sonic says that Mike is "just a guy" after saying that he can't handle Eggman like the heroes can. The villagers use the same phrase when calling Sonic out on letting Mike join the fight, [[{{Hypocrite}} even though he said that first]].
49	* TooDumbToLive: Mike, who is just a "guy", sees nothing wrong with wanting to watch a potentially dangerous battle between the heroes and Eggman, and possibly getting injured in the process.
