[[caption-width-right:350:Sofia's greatest adventure ever!]] As Sofia, Amber and James prepare for their graduation from Royal Prep Academy, Sofia is called back to the Mystic Isles to face an evil witch named Vor, who plans to take over the kingdom of Enchancia and the Ever Realm. Presented with her biggest challenge yet, Sofia must figure out a way to defeat Vor and save her family and the people of Enchancia.
----
!!Tropes in this episode include:
* AnAesop: Think of those you love to get through anything.
* AllThereInTheScript: Roland's late biological wife is named Lorelei.
* BackForTheFinale:
** All of the [[Franchise/DisneyPrincess Disney princesses]] that Sofia has summoned with her Amulet return as visions during her fight with Vor.
** Although Elena does not appear in person, she is referenced in the scene where Sofia falls into the Amulet while going through different backdrops based on the princesses she's summoned throughout the show, with the very last backdrop being based on Elena and the Scepter of Light.
** In a more straightforward sense, many supporting characters also return to help Sofia in some way, like Vivian, Crackle, Desmond, Ruby, Jade, Lucinda, and the [[WesternAnimation/SleepingBeauty Three Good Fairies]]. Even Axel, Hugo, Hildegard, Clio, and Miss Nettle return, even if for silent cameos.
** Several recurring characters can also be seen in the audience at the graduation ceremony such as Miss Nettle, Cordelia the Conjuror, Sir Gillium and Constable Miles.
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: Roland had lived without a family his whole life, so he made a wish at the wishing well for his first wife to have children. The wish was granted, and Amber and James were born. Unfortunately, the queen's body wasn't strong enough to handle giving birth, thus she fell terminally ill and passed away.
* BigDamnHeroes:
** Minimus saves Sofia from falling to her death when Vor caused her to fall off the castle bridge.
** The royal family are being imprisoned in Cedric's tower by Vor's minions. Whatnaught leads Robin, Mia, and Rex to deploy a catapult to take out the minions and allow the royal family to escape safely.
* BigSisterInstinct: Not only did Amber try (but fail) to save Sofia from being pulled into the Amulet, but she asks Cedric to let her and everyone else help with the spell to get her baby sis out.
* BookEnds: To the pilot movie "Once Upon a Princess":
** The series starts with an animated movie where Sofia enters Royal Prep and ends with an animated movie that features her graduation ceremony. Both stories are the only ones in the series where Royal Prep's anthem is sung and the only ones featuring Sofia and Miranda's shoe store outside flashbacks.
** The pilot ended with Sofia saying that she's "Sofia The First", and then it closes to a shot of a zoom-out of the castle, then the three fairies putting up a "The End" title card. This movie has Sofia saying that Amber will be a great queen as "Amber The First", and then the storybook closing is used.
* CallBack: Sofia (and later, Prisma) gets trapped in the Amulet, just like Elena. And like with Elena, the process of freeing them requires an abundance of powerful magic — Mateo needed Shuriki's wand when they freed Elena.
** Sofia's first lines in "Such a Big Day" refer back to songs from the pilot and early episodes of season 1.
*** "At first I thought I wasn't ready to be royal-" ("Not Ready to Be a Princess")
*** "But I proved I belong, I proved I'm here to stay." ("I Belong")
*** "I want to rise and shine, but still there is a little doubt." ("Rise and Shine")
** Cedric repurposed the rubies that Sofia enchanted for him in "Cedric's Apprentice" into a new tiara. He also keeps his family wand in the case that Sofia made for him in "Winter's Gift."
** "For One and All" echoes all the way back to "The Amulet and the Anthem," as the title is a reference to the lyrics of the Enchancia anthem
* DarkerAndEdgier: As the series finale, the stakes and danger are much higher for Sofia and company. There is still a good amount of lightheartedness to balance it out though.
* EarnYourHappyEnding:
** Vor imprisons the Protectors and Sofia's friends and family, putting both the Ever-Realm and the Mystic Isles under serious threat, and Sofia is forced to face Vor with no allies inside the Amulet. But by seeing visions of all the Disney Princesses who helped her, with the power of her heart, she's able to vanquish Vor once and for all, earning her official status as Protector of the Ever-Realm.
** After spending nearly the entire show as the NoRespectGuy who thought villainy would be his only chance at glory, Cedric completes his own arc of becoming a heroic sorcerer like his predecessors, and Roland grants him the title of "Cedric the Great," just as he'd always dreamed about. He then gladly gives the Amulet back to Sofia, finally content with the person he is now.
* EndOfSeriesAwareness: The title of the episode itself alludes it's the last episode of the series, and the final shot is a TheEnd card, showing the story has reached its end.
* EvilCannotComprehendGood: When they are trapped in the amulet, Vor is confident that Sofia will be easily defeated, as she is trapped alone without her friends and family for support. Vor wasn't counting on the visions of Disney Princesses to remind Sofia that her love for her friends and family is her true strength.
* FinaleMovie: This MadeForTVMovie serves as the end of ''Sofia the First''.
* GraduateFromTheStory: The first half of the special involves Sofia, Amber, James and their friends graduating from Royal Prep.
* HeroVsVillainDuet: "On My Own", sung by Sofia and Vor during their FinalBattle inside the amulet.
* KilledOffForReal: Vor is destroyed into nothingness by Sofia's pure heart, leaving Prisma behind in her place, freed from her control.
* MassiveMultiplayerEnsembleNumber: "Such a Big Day" and "For One and All."
* NearVillainVictory: Vor imprisons Sofia in the amulet with her and is close to winning, but Sofia sees visions of the Disney Princesses inspiring her to not give up and defeat Vor with the power of her pure heart.
* NeverSayDie: Two in a row.
** It was revealed Sofia's birth father died at sea while Roland's wife died while giving birth to Amber and James; the storyteller's narration just states Sofia's father was "lost at sea" and Roland's wife "fell gravely ill".
** After Vor was destroyed and Sofia and Prisma were freed from the amulet. Sofia says Vor is gone for good.
* NoodleIncident: Prior to the finale, not only did Sofia and the other Protectors somehow get Queen Grimhilde's crown and the rest of the Wicked Nine, but they also captured Prisma and locked her in a cell. Yet we never got an explanation, let alone learned where some of the other Wicked Nine were.
* NotAfraidOfYouAnymore: It's only when Sofia sees visions of all the Disney Princesses who helped her over the course of the show encouraging her to keep going and fight for herself, which in turn restores all her confidence and is no longer afraid of Vor, allowing her to unleash ThePowerOfLove to destroy her for good.
* OrbitalShot: Sofia and Amber have one at the end of "For One and All" when they return to the castle.
* ThePowerOfLove: How Sofia destroys Vor.
* PreMortemOneLiner: Sofia delivers one at the very end of “On My Own” as she is destroying Vor with the power of her pure heart.
-->'''Sofia:''' My love will be...[[PunctuatedForEmphasis the end...of...you!]]
* PunchClockVillain: Vor's Crystal Soldiers. As soon as her curse is broken, they... simply give the castle guards bouquets of flowers then immediately leave.
* TheReveal:
** It is shown that Sofia's father and Miranda's first husband was a sailor (as said by WordOfGod) that was lost at sea, and that Roland's first wife passed away when her children were young (and implicitly, [[DeathByChildbirth died by childbirth]]).
** Roland's first wish at the Wishing Well was that he and his first wife would have children. It's implied that [[ExactWords poor wording]] resulted in his wife passing away from complications during childbirth.
** Vor says that if you [[WesternAnimation/PeterPan fly above the "island of pirates and fairies" and go beyond the second star to the right, you will encounter a portal to another world.]]
* SelfRestraint: After Vor is defeated and expelled from Prisma, Prisma apologizes to Sofia for causing this whole mess and feels genuine remorse. When she goes to turn herself in to the Protectors, they send her back to jail instead of letting her go off free just because she's had a HeelRealization. She's also aware of this, as she says she's ready to go back to prison.
* ShoutOut:
** Just like [[WesternAnimation/Frozen2013 Anna and Elsa]], Sofia lost one of her parents to the sea.
** Sofia falling through the Amulet is a reference to [[WesternAnimation/AliceInWonderland Alice falling down the rabbit hole into Wonderland]].
* ThisCannotBe: Vor when Sofia defeats her says this word for word.
* TriumphantReprise: Sofia, Amber, James and their friends sing a celebratorial shortened version of the "Royal Prep" song from "Once Upon a Princess" during the graduation ceremony. Also acts as TheSongBeforeTheStorm, as shortly after is when Vor takes control over Prisma.
* TrueCompanions: It's Vivian who first volunteers to aid Sofia when she comes seeking help from her friends to stop Vor, and Ruby, Jade, Desmond, and Crackle follow her lead.
-->'''Vivian:''' Sofia, you were always there for us. Let us be there for you.
* VillainousBreakdown: Vor starts her final battle with Sofia in the latter's amulet smug and confident of her victory, taunting Sofia over having ''absolutely no one'' to bail her out of her inevitable destruction. When Sofia sees visions of the Disney Princesses, gets back on her feet and uses ThePowerOfLove to repel and defeat Vor, the evil witch is reduced to a shocked, bewildered, withering mess as she is permanently vanquished.
-->'''Vor:''' You're just a girl! ThisCannotBe
* TheVoiceless: Grand Mum appears but doesn't speak due to Florence Henderson's death of heart failure in November 2016.
* WhamEpisode: It's Sofia, Amber and James' graduation from Royal Prep, and the true nature of Vor is revealed. As detailed under TheReveal, several aspects of the story's lore that had gone unanswered (Roland's first wish upon the wishing well, the fates of the children's missing birth parents, the Ever-Realm's physical placement in the larger Disney animated universe) are also brought to light.
* WhamShot:
** During the narration of Sofia's tale, there's a shot of Roland with his first wife...and she looks like [[StrongFamilyResemblance an adult version of Amber]].
