* Story Arc: Coldstone's internal crisis.
* Characters: the Manhattan Clan, Eliza Maza, Matt Bluestone, Coldstone ("Othello", "Desdemona", and "Iago")
* Enemy(ies) : Coldstone ("Iago")

Coldstone is reactivated, but some sort of virus begins to affect him as Goliath tries to get him to join his clan. It is discovered that "Othello"'s mind had been merged with the personalities of two other Gargoyles and one of them holds a grudge seemingly bigger and more malicious than Demona's.

Coldstone returns in the Season 2 episode "High Noon".

----
!!This episode contains the following tropes:
* AbortedArc: At the end of this episode, Xanatos salvages the computer virus that nearly destroyed Coldstone, calling it the deadliest weapon he could ask for... and then never uses it or mentions it again.
* BattleInTheCenterOfTheMind: Coldstone is in the middle of one in which the souls of the female gargoyle ("Desdemona") and another ("Iago") are fighting to convince "Othello" to join them in how to best use the single body they inhabit. The Program that governs Coldstone's cybernetic functions gets involved (siding with Iago as part of an attempt at a SplitPersonalityTakeover) while Goliath, with the aid of RECAP technology, tries to help Desdemona with persuading Othello to throw off Iago's corrupting influence. Further complicating matters is the virus that is destroying Coldstone from within.
* ContinuityNod: When RECAP rushes into the building at the beginning, the familiar scarab logo from "Awakening" can be glimpsed on its side.
* CyberneticsEatYourSoul: Toyed with in this episode. Goliath seems to think this at first, but his mental instability is really due to anger at first, and then later from the circumstances of having three souls (one of whom was evil) sharing one body. The closest he ever really came to this trope was when Xanatos used a computer program to brainwash him for a while; it messed with his mind, but his "soul" remained fine.
* LoveTriangle: Othello, Desdemona, and Iago are revealed to be in one, fitting given the source of their names.
* ManipulativeBastard: Iago. He claims that Desdemona is unfaithful and cheating on Othello with Goliath.
* MeaningfulName: The names of the souls that reside in Coldstone, who are called (in the credits at least) Othello, Desdemona, and Iago, are characters who play the same roles as their namesakes from Theatre/Othello.
* NiceMeanAndInBetween: The three personalities in Coldstone. Desdemona is the nice one, being devoted to her mate and helping Goliath. Iago is explicitly evil, wanting Desdemona for himself and perfectly content for his brothers to die in the process. Othello is the in-between, valuing those he cares about but suffering from anger and paranoia that makes it easy for him to be manipulated.
* RayOfHopeEnding: Though Coldstone is deactivated, Goliath expresses certainty that Othello and Desdemona will return and rejoin the clan someday. The final shot is of the two gliding through the shared mind space and holding hands.
* RewatchBonus: "Legion" in particular has this: About halfway through the episode, it's revealed that Coldstone is controlled by three different gargoyle ghosts, and his "erratic" behavior from earlier (e.g. confusion when Goliath calls him "Brother") makes perfect sense when one realizes that those three ghosts were struggling for control. For example, Coldstone's confusion at being addressed as "Brother" occurred while the female gargoyle was in control.
* ShoutOut: Coldstone's creation from the remains of other deceased preexisting beings is very much like that of creature from Literature/Frankenstein. Though Weisman has also said that he was inspired by specific portrayal of Frankenstein's monster in a made for television movie in which the memories of the individuals that compromised him could speak by way of hypnosis.
** The title of this episode is a Biblical allusion that refers to an account in the Gospel of Mark in which a man being exorcised of demons states "I am legion, for we are many".
** A lesser one in reference to the 1987 movie Film/1987 in which Coldstone downloads information from a computer via a spike like structure just as Alex Murphy (AKA Robocop) does at one point in that film.
* SixthRanger: Subverted. While Coldstone agreed to rejoin with his rookery brothers, while Othello was in control, his other personalities awaken and find themselves in an internal conflict. The struggle with both themselves and with the Manhattan Clan results in Coldstone going into dormancy and remaining in such a state until the struggle between the warring souls can be resolved.
* VoicesAreNotMental: Coldstone (the robot) is solely voiced by Michael Dorn. When the personalities of Desdemona or Iago are in control, he merely adopts their mannerisms and word choice. Desdemona even says “My voice, it’s different.”
* XanatosSpeedChess: Initially, Xanatos was after the military files on the computer Coldstone tried to hack, however, he felt that R.E.C.A.P getting the virus program that infected Coldstone was a better prize, considering it the most powerful weapon he'd ever seen.
-->Xanatos: It even defeated the mighty Coldstone.
