1	While Khalil is in the hospital fighting for his life, Tobias finally gets his wish as Cutter kills Rev. Holt which drives Jefferson and Henderson to pool their resources to take down Tobias once and for all.

3	* DownerEnding: Khalil and Reverend Holt are both dead, and Tobias finds the four missing pods to recruit for his gang.
4	* HopeSpot: Both Jennifer's electric powers and using the pods are posited as possible methods to save Khalil, and it even looks like they are about to implement the latter, before ultimately realizing [[MortonsFork even attempting that would kill him anyway]] due to the toxins in his non-metahuman body. In the end, Khalil dies in the hospital.

6	* InternalReveal: Jefferson shows Henderson's Gambi's base inside his tailor shop and by extension that Gambi is still alive.

8	* MathematiciansAnswer: After Perenna helped Jennifer contain her power, Jefferson asked what Perenna told her. Perenna replied: "What she needed to know."
9	* MythologyGag: Dr. Jace did some work in Markovia -- the birthplace of ComicBook/TeenTitans villain Terra and the setting of ComicBook/{{The Outsiders\|DCComics}} of which Black Lightning was a member.
10	* PayEvilUntoEvil: When a bystander needlessly harasses and accuse Jennifer for trying to steal her car even going as so far to call the Police on her, while distracted Jennifer destroys the car by blasting it with lightning.
11	* ThisMeansWar: The double whammy of Khalil being sent into the hospital and Rev. Holt's murder is what drives Jefferson to take down Tobias once and for all.
12	* TheReveal: Dr. Helga Jace invented the anti-aging serum used by herself and the Whale siblings, and was also the scientific architect behind the original vaccine program that gave Black Lightning his powers.
13	* WhamEpisode: Reverend Holt is killed by Cutter, Tobias frees Dr. Jace (who is revealed to have had an enormous impact on the plot up until now as the doctor who created the ASA vaccine and Tobias' anti-aging serum) and uncovers four metahumans in pods beneath the clinic, and Khalil dies from the injuries Tobias gave him the previous episode.
