Initially, it looks like Flame Princess calling out Bonnibel on her actions in "The Cooler" didn't stick, since Princess Bubblegum is still surveying the entire citizens of Candy Kingdom using her own laptop. She's shown to be wearing the shirt from "Jake the Brick" though, suggesting this flashback takes place prior to "The Cooler."
7	* AfterTheEnd: Cuber crash lands on the Land of Ooo in the distant future, which is bleak and mostly desolate. Ironically, the Land of Ooo was Earth after the end.
8	** The GrandFinale softens it quite a bit: [[spoiler: Cuber just landed on a particularly ugly day, Ooo still has intelligent life and kingdoms and princesses and adventurers, but a lot of it HAS been abandoned due to war and a WagonTrainToTheStars.]]
9	* AsLongAsItSoundsForeign: The "space people" speak Korean. At first it seems like a gag to use an existing language instead of a constructed alien language. But in light of the series finale, [[spoiler: it was foreshadowing that the "space wedding" party was actually comprised of descendants of Jake and Lady Rainicorn on one of the Pup Kingdom's spaceships.]]
10	* BigBrotherIsWatching: This episode has a flashback to when Princess Bubblegum was still spying on her citizens, bugging her citizens with tracking chips in their teeth. Starchie is aware of this and makes a run for it.
11	* DarkerAndEdgier: Grayble episodes are normally LighterAndSofter [[BreatherEpisode Breather Episodes]]. This one? Not so much.
12	* {{Faceship}}: Cuber's escape pod resembles his own face.
13	* MajorInjuryUnderreaction: Ice King wakes up with his leg broken [[OhNoNotAgain so often, that he's simply annoyed by it]]. However, when he fixes his leg, he screams in pain.
14	* OneWingedAngel: The Ice King in the future (whoever it is) appears to have become a giant FlyingFace with an even larger beard. The GrandFinale eventually reveals it to be [[spoiler:Gunther.]]
15	* PeopleJars: The prize ball guardian houses the candy people in giant capsules.
16	* SurvivalMantra: Throughout the episode, as he's hunted by the space people, Cuber repeatedly says "Remember the graybles" as he uses them to gain knowledge necessary to survive.
17	* TheUnreveal: Cuber stops by future Marceline's intact house, but he never goes in so we don't know what became of it. Banjo music can be heard playing in the background, so it's possible Marceline still lives there. [[spoiler:The GrandFinale does show who lives there, though, and it's not her.]]
