Following Mark Thompson's retirement and the final broadcast of ''The Mark & Brian Radio Program'' in August 2012, co-host Brian Phelps left the radio station KLOS and teamed up with actress/comedian Jill Whelan to create the Brian & Jill Show pocast.

Similarly to the ''Mark & Brian Show'', Brian & Jill run their show with a talk radio format. Discussing recent news events, interviewing guests, performing sketches and just talking about their own lives and interests they "bring you fresh talk daily."

Regular segments on the show include:
* '''What's New(s):''' Brian & Jill read and discuss various news articles that caught their eye. Stories range from the serious to the ridiculous.
* '''Sports With Todd Donoho:''' An old friend from ''Mark & Brian'', Todd Dononho discusses professional and college sports with our hosts once a week.
* '''Rock Reports With Sal Cirrincione:''' Another ''Mark & Brian'' friend, music scene reporter Sal Cirrincione, gives us the week's rock and roll news.
* '''Movie Talk With Matt Atchity:''' Editor-in-Chief of Rotten Tomatoes will occasionally call in and chat with Brian & Jill about latest releases and movie news.
* '''Young Frankenstein Name That Tune:''' The ''Brian & Jill'' crew play "Name That Tune," with the twist that they all sing their songs in the style of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q89MQiyunxs Frankenstein's monster]] from ''Film/YoungFrankenstein''
* '''No Apparent Reason:''' Brian, Jill, producer Kathee & on occasion intern Tyler join listeners and guest stars in a ten question Trivia Game.
* and various {{Parody Commercial}}s and sketches.

You can listen to the show at http://www.brianandjillshow.com/blog/ . The first episode aired on Monday, September 10, 2012 and new episodes were uploaded daily Monday through Friday. However, Brian and Jill announced on their January 17, 2014 episode that they were stopping the daily format and going on a more irregular/to-be-determined schedule while they focus on other projects.
----
* AccidentalMisnaming: Sir Phalluster is incapable of getting Brian's and Jill's names right, calling them Byron and Judy.
* AlcoholInducedIdiocy: Invoked with "Thirsty Thursdays", in which prior to the second show they record every Thursday everyone take a few drinks whatever's handy.
* BurpingContest: In episode 3.
* ButtMonkey: Intern Tyler tends to be made into this by the crew. Highlighted in the March 7, 2013 episode in which he is horrifically burned by not wearing proper protection against Brian's "Million Dollar Smile" and has to be put down as a MercyKill. Everyone's properly horrified... until the question of who's going to clean up the mess comes up. When they see Tyler's NotQuiteDead, they give the job to ''him.''
* CatchPhrase:
** SigningOffCatchPhrase: Brian signs off every episode with "Be good humans." much like he did during the ''Mark & Brian'' show.
** He also spent the first week asking ''everyone'' who called in if they were from Fullerton.
** Whenever they introduce a game, Brian will say that it's time "for a rousing round of [insert game here]."
* CaughtWithYourPantsDown: The "Kneelin' Whelan" story, which involved Jill being walked in on by her mother while using a vibrator with a short cord (which necessitated the "Kneelin'").
* CloudCuckooLander: Jill, as described by Brian:
-->'''Brian:''' I've mentioned this many times before but there's a joy in my life, and it's usually right before the show. Because you will look at me, with all seriousness, and say the most non-sequitur, out of the blue, "where the hell did that come from?" thing.
* CountryMatters: While Brian & Jill have fun cussing in their first episode due to no FCC regulations, this is the one that Jill refuses to go with.
* EpicFail:
** Brian loses his phone... ''while talking on his phone.'' Jill is right there with him, fails to notice this, and is as caught up as he is trying to find the phone while Brian tells his assistant Franny (whom he is on the phone with) that he needs to find his phone.
** Jill gets one when playing "Will He Know It?" with Brian, a game in which Brian has to guest the artist & song of song clips. Brian is getting doing surprisingly well when Jill realizes Brian has all the answers in front of him. The reason he does: Jill accidentally cc'd Brian the email she sent to their technical director Donnie (so he could get the sound clips ready).
* FoodPorn: Jill is a "foodie." A skilled chef who loves to talk about recipes. Brian is less-than-thrilled about recicpes but will once in a while get caught up in it anyway.
* GagPenis: Creator/JonHamm's dick.
* GameShow: "No Apparent Reason", a ''Mark & Brian'' classic retained for the podcast in which the crew compete with a listener calling in to try and answer trivia questions.
* GoingCommando: Episode 2 has pictures of Creator/JonHamm where you can see through his pants so clearly you "can tell what religion he is."
* HurricaneOfPuns:
** The cow puns fly when Jill mentions a story about a teen forced to marry a cow.
** {{Lampshaded}} when they do a sketch in which the American ambassador to China (played by Brian) suggests combining China and Vietnam into "Vachina."
---> '''Brian:''' It's going to be alllll those kinds of jokes.
* LoonyFan: Superfan Diane.
* MercyMode: If a listener goes four out of five questions without a correct answer in "No Apparent Reason" they automatically get first crack at the fifth.
* OrAreYouJustHappyToSeeMe: Brian uses the trope word-for-word as a clue to try and get the players to guess 'Banana.' Answers given included "[[ItMakesSenseInContext whale sperm]]", "a pickle", "a roll of quarters", and "gum" before someone finally guessed it.
* ParallelPornTitles: Any appearance by Sir Phalluster Slideright III will result in these. For examples "Men in Black Men." There were also ice cream flavors ("Pop My Cherry Garcia", "Peanut Butter Double D-Cup").
* PlatonicLifePartners: Brian and Jill themselves. They dated initially but Jill is now married with children and she and Brian are now the best of friends.
* RealSongThemeTune:
** The show uses rotates segments from real songs for use in its titles, starting with "I Want to Singa." The original plan was to rotate them once a week, but they've apparently gotten enough contributions in that a member of the crew chooses a different song each day as of the third week.
** Individual segments have them too, such as "What's New[[labelnote:s]][[/labelnote]] Pussycat" for their news segments, and the "William Tell Overture" for No Apparent Reason.
* RequiredSpinoffCrossover: Members from the ''Mark & Brian'' family such as Frankie Sontag and producer Ted have made appearances on the show. Brian has also revisited some ''Mark & Brian'' sketches for the show, such as Debbie the Volleyball Player, the Red Carpet Minute, and the Out-of-Work Voiceover Guy.
* RichInDollarsPoorInSense: The wealthy blues singer, whose idea of blues-worthy includes having to fly commercial or take her holiday in Prague.
* SeriousBusiness: Kathee and Jill are like this whenever Shari's Berries or No Apparent Reason are involved.
* SophisticatedAsHell: The Shakespearean Actors, who re-enact various celebrity arguments complete with cussing.
* SpinOff: Of ''The Mark & Brian Radio Program.''
* StraightManAndWiseGuy: Brian and Jill are a pair of Wise Guys (and self-described "Comedy Soul Mates"), Kathee & Donnie (later Tyler) provide the Straight Men.
