The Hall of Ghosts looks like the stereotypical spooky haunted mansion on the outside, but on the inside every room is different and unique, haunted by a different ghost God. Beetlejuice resides over the cemetery outside. Visitors may get guidance from Casper, who will steer them clear of danger.

Needless to say, this hall is completely avoided by [[Pantheon/HeroicAttitude Ragna the Bloodedge]], [[Pantheon/IntrovertFlaws Mako Reizei]], [[Pantheon/MonsterTypes Alice the 16th]] and [[Pantheon/NiceAndNasty Taiga Hanaya]]/[[Pantheon/CharacterActions Kamen Rider Snipe]]; merely stepping on the hall entrance will cause them to [[ScreamsLikeALittleGirl scream like a girl]] and run off in terror. On the other hand, there's [[Pantheon/{{Craft}} Rohan Kishibe]], who decided not to go here due to his history with being followed by ethereal spirits. The Franchise/{{Ghostbusters}} are banned from entering this hall without special permission, though they may come by to drop off any offending ghosts they capture in the other halls. Especially after that debacle with Kayako Saeki's ascension...

* Under the sea in Bikini Bottom lies a strange and often malevolent specter known as the Flying Dutchman. A dreaded GhostPirate, it is said that his corpse was used as a mannequin in a clothing store window, and as such he is never at rest, endlessly wandering the sea and haunting Bikini Bottom for [[TimeAbyss over five millenia]]. Time and time again he frightens the citizens of Bikini Bottom, making deals for their souls, judging said souls, or simply just scaring the living heck out of them. That being said, when [=SpongeBob=] and Patrick get involved his frights can get... off the rails. In spite of his powers being legitimately terrifying, from stealing souls, transporting people through dimensions of horror, granting wishes, and even turning himself into an explosive, the Flying Dutchman ends up as just as much a victim of the comedic antics of Spongebob and his friends at times.
* His GhostShip had drifted into the Pantheon sometime after Spongebob, Patrick, and Squidward entered the Pantheon. There, the Flying Dutchman continued his usual haunts on unwitting victims in the Pantheon, primarily sticking to normal people and citizens until the rumors piled on hard enough. Inevitably, fate would bring Spongebob and Patrick to visit the Flying Dutchman, who explained to the Flying Dutchman about the Pantheon, and told him about how the Pantheon worked. It led to the Flying Dutchman deciding to frighten one of the more popular gods there as a personal challenge, since if Spongebob and Patrick were gods in this Pantheon, [[WhatCouldPossiblyGoWrong there'd be little problem in finding a more well-known deity to spook.]] The Flying Dutchman snuck into Luigi's temple and scared the daylights out of Luigi, putting the poor plumber into a rigorous parade of frights. What the Flying Dutchman didn't expect was for Luigi to eventually find and pull out his Poltergust 3000, and once that thing started sucking up the Flying Dutchman's tail, the ghost would find himself in a very new predicament. Captured by Luigi, he was presented to the Pantheon officially, and while the Flying Dutchman was planning to put an eternal curse on Spongebob and Patrick, he was given the GhostPirate trope, allowing him to stay as a deity, so he decided from then that they're even.
* Has a varying relationship with [=SpongeBob=] and Patrick. While he can end up being an enemy with them like in "Shanghaied" where they were incompetent forced shipmates, they've also helped out when [=SpongeBob=] brought his groove back. Not to mention that if he did claim Spongebob, he'd end up being annoyed by him to let him go anyway. This has been unfortunate for Squidward who's still scared silly of him, not that the Flying Dutchman cares. There have been occasions where [[VideoGame/SpongeBobSquarePantsRevengeOfTheFlyingDutchman the Flying Dutchman]] has attempted more drastic reigns of terror over Bikini Bottom, only for Spongebob to defeat him and the curse he put over Bikini Bottom. And on another occasion later on, Spongebob helped the Flying Dutchman [[VideoGame/SpongeBobSquarePantsBattleForBikiniBottom get rid of some of Plankton's rogue robots in exchange for a Golden Spatula]], only for the Flying Dutchman to go back on his deal, leading to Sandy having to deal with him herself. Despite Sandy being tougher to get rid of than what the ghost expected, it ended up taking Spongebob creating a bubble model of The Flying Dutchman's ship to settle things with the ghost pirate.
* While scary and somewhat malevolent from time to time, he more enjoys scaring and frightening people over killing them, even if he can be a real jerk about it. He gets along pretty well with Oswald Thorn and Jack O'Lantern, and try their best to spook and scare. That said, he hates it when people dress up as the Flying Dutchman himself to impersonate him, which Spongebob learned the hard way. Or maybe he just [[DoWrongRight has standards when it comes to people using his likeness to scare others.]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDDUa75vcxM He does make for an effective scarer, though he still needs to understand the ways of surprise and inconsistency better]]. He does take Halloween seriously enough to be offended by those who find Halloween to be something to laugh at than to scream at. He appreciates those skilled in bringing frights as a job, such as Pitch Black and Jack Skellington. With the former he's troubled Jack Frost on a number of occasions. Also while he's impressed by Freddy Krueger's skills at fear, [[EvenEvilHasStandards he opposes his depravity and sadistic murdering]].
* He may expect fear and terror from those he meets, but there are those who view the horrifying not with laughter but with admiration that the Flying Dutchman had grown soft towards. There were those like Koume Shirasaka as well as the duo of Skid and Pump who adore all that is spooky and scary, the Flying Dutchman included. He was a bit miffed that he doesn't genuinely terrify them, but unlike with Spongebob he isn't too annoyed and can tolerate the reception given the context, and lets them watch him scare other people. He actually once turned Skid and Pump into ghosts themselves (it was their request) to let them cause spooky mischief, although once [[NoodleIncident it led to a large many-eyed eldritch being pursuing the Flying Dutchman and scaring the Flying Dutchman himself,]] he had to change them back. Additionally, the Bedtime Stories Crew have seen the Flying Dutchman as an interesting spectre to learn more about and to speculate on. They're unsatsified on what they've heard about the Flying Dutchman and are keen on capturing the terror of the Flying Dutchman personally, though they are cautious to ensure the Flying Dutchman doesn't capture them first.
* When it came to pirates, many have learned to fear the Flying Dutchman once they realized they did not share the same ability to last through his antics as Spongebob had. However, it hasn't stopped more powerful pirates for having a go at the Flying Dutchman, and butting heads with him. The Flying Dutchman used to antagonize Shantae and her friends, but her own archnemesis, Risky Boots, took offense to having another phantasmal pirate rival. Once Shantae had told the Flying Dutchman about the fate of the Pirate Master that she used to be a subordinate for, the Flying Dutchman simply left, deciding that Risky Boots would be someone he'd have to deal with more carefully. He also had butted with King K. Rool who also had his stints as a pirate captain, due to the Flying Dutchman attempting to recruit some of the Kackles working under K. Rool. One other pirate that ended up humiliating the Flying Dutchman was Guybrush Threepwood, who the former had gravely underestimated, but given that Guybrush was familiar with dealing a different persistently undead pirate before, he managed to trick the Flying Dutchman to pursue him to a nearby market, where the Flying Dutchman attempted to frighten the bystanders there. Unfortunately, one of said bystanders was Popeye, who had a can of spinach at the ready. One CurbStompBattle from Popeye later, Guybrush taught the Flying Dutchman that there were sailors not even he could scare silly.
* Particularly skilled at making fancy rope knots, however he hasn't worn shoes for over 5000 years and as such can't help with shoelaces. Instead he uses his lucky dining sock as [[FogFeet "footwear"]], which he values deeply, since for some reason, the Flying Dutchman cannot eat anything, including potential victims, without that dining sock, and is very protective over that sock. and will grant wishes for it. Just be careful because [[JackassGenie he gets a wish too]], and even if you don't senselessly waste your first two wishes, he can use his own wish to play around your wishes. Obviously doesn't get along with the friendly genies for that reason, but he does give Desiree on how to fool potential victims however. He did attempt to get along with Erazor Djinn and Jafar, but found the both of them to be ambitious and selfish to hang out with.
* He does [[DealWithTheDevil deals with people's souls]], though there poses much competition from other soul dealers, especially The Devil from Cuphead, who worries the Flying Dutchman given that a ghost train had been subject to a soul contract as well. Sometimes he competes with Death from Regular Show in a friendly competition, occasionally drinking when they get cheated out. Another soul dealer that he ended up befriending was The Snatcher, once an unfortunate prince whose ex-girlfriend proved to be more terrifying than the Flying Dutchman could ever imagine. While they still aren't fond of the idea of sharing targets, the Flying Dutchman does occasionally hang out and even participate in "enhancing" the experience of the Snatcher's Death Wish contracts. However, those who are cheapskates in deals [[EvenEvilHasStandards upsets him]], like when Mr. Krabs gave up [=SpongeBob=] for 62 cents. Eliza and Neal Reagen were even more intolerable, and Mr. Burns even cheaper. Plus with Krabs there are way too many people to claim his soul already, due to how easily he was to give up his soul for money. Peter Pettigrew really repulses him due to selling out his friends [[DirtyCoward to save his own skin]].
** The Flying Dutchman and Plankton are mostly adverse to each other, despite both usually having antagonistc roles toward Spongebob and especially Mr. Krabs. Not only do they specialize with incompatible domains, with Plankton's robots not mixing with the Flying Dutchman's supernatural antics, a particular occasion with Plankton trying to steal the Krabby Patty formula by trying to be a ghost led to the Flying Dutchman attempted to train Plankton on being a ghost, only for Plankton to almost lose his body and for the Flying Dutchman to try and take said body only to be stampeded upon and convincing him that keeping Plankton's body wasn't worth it. Not to mention that robots simply aren't fun to spook.
* When it comes to relations with his fellow ghosts, he gets along very well with those who love to be seen as terrifying to mortals. He loves to work with Spooky, and can sympathize with her desire to be taken seriously. He's seen joining in with Gengar's pranks. He also has an uneasy friendship with King Boo, sharing an enmity toward Luigi, Mario, and E. Gadd, mainly due to the latter's contribution to his humiliating ascension. However, King Boo's tendencies to go extremely all-out to destroy Luigi, even risking destruction of everything around him to do so end up distancing the Flying Dutchman away from him. He also took interest in the animatronics of ''Freddy Fazbear's Pizza'', pitying their tragic origin and also attempting to get them, especially Foxy the Pirate, to be more active in scaring others, though not necessarily to lethal extents. And to no one's surprise, he opposes the Ghostbusters on principle, but one particular individual that [[HorrifyingTheHorror creeped him out]] was The Batter, someone dedicated to hunting ghosts like him, and while many people don't see him as anything more than a pale human batter, apparently what he's seen was enough to tell him that The Batter was someone he should cross very carefully, lest he get "purified".
* As for ghosts like Casper who disapprove of such a lifestyle, he usually has no reason to care about what they think. But Danny Phantom had managed to make that get through to him, and as a heroic ghost who has dealt with other powerful spectres, he inevitably had to deal with the Flying Dutchman when he attempted to terrorize the Pantheon, and managed to outsmart and subdue the Flying Dutchman with the help of his parents, who also happened to be experienced in the ghost-busting field. On one hand, while the Flying Dutchman is interested in getting revenge against Danny, he respects his ghostly abilities and is willing to work with him against more threatening ghosts. Like most ghosts, he thinks Dark Danny is horrifying, and will briefly team-up with Danny Fenton to stop him.
* One of the Flying Dutchman's more "out-there" accessories is a pants-zipper that leads to an AcidTripDimension known as the Fly of Despair. Victims thrown into it will be forced through a long fall that takes them through many strange and terrifying experiences full of horrific abominations and entities that justify the dimension's [[NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast intimidating name.]] It was mainly used on one of his more frequent victims, Squidward Tentacles, after he got stuck on board on the Flying Dutchman's ship and became so much of a bothersome complainer that the Flying Dutchman threw him into it. Charlie the Unicorn was also an unfortunate bystander who was watching the ghost torment other victims and ended up being a bit being vocal about how insufferable the Flying Dutchman, underestimating his hearing abilities. Both of them did end up going home after a long while of suffering through the dimension, the both of them not really enjoying the experience, though the latter claims that he has lived through worse. Also a whole realm of spaghetti and meatballs happened to be inside the Fly of Despair according to Charlie's comments on his experiences, which caused Glitchy's Mario to board onto the Flying Dutchman's ship to annoy the Flying Dutchman and cause mayhem until the Flying Dutchman had sent him through the Fly of Despair to get to said spaghetti realm, which frankly irritates the ghost given that it's not meant to be an enjoyable place.

* Young Danny Fenton was only 14 years old when his parents created a portal into the Ghost Zone which he accidentally activated. Now half-ghost, he uses this abilities that came with this change to fight against ghosts that could threaten his friends and family. He ascended into the Pantheon to keep more evil and malevolent specters from causing problems to the living.
** With his power to detect ghosts through his own chilled breath, or Ghost Sense as he calls it, he can immediately tell that a ghost is nearby and is ready to "Go Ghost" when danger is imminent.
*** His Ghost Sense was actually a sign of his ice powers which is completely unique to him from other ghost deities. It took training from the Ghost Zone and a destructive plant ghost in his own town in order to properly yield such power.
* Danny is sickened by Victor von Doom's obsession with [[Pantheon/OtherRelatives the Richards family]] which reminds him a lot of his archenemy, Vlad Masters/Plasmius, who has an obsession with his family.
* When he saw a box moving by itself, he thought it was the [[HarmlessVillain Box Ghost]] who came back to be a nuisance, but he held the box and saw that it was [[Pantheon/InvestigativeWork Solid Snake]]. The soldier disappeared from the act much to the ghost's confusion.
* Among several superheroes in the Pantheon, he got the most respect from Spiderman, who is also a dork like him. Superman actually noticed that he sounded [[Creator/DavidKaufman like Jimmy Olsen]].
* Danny is routinely inspecting the House of Food just so that he doesn't find the Lunch Lady Ghost causing a mess in the cafeteria or the kitchen.
* When searching through the houses, he saw Flash Thompson and thought it was the bully Dash Baxter in a glance. While Flash was a bully once, he has since moved out of that phase in which he figures that he is not like him.
* He, along with [[Pantheon/{{Advertising}} Spongebob]] [[Pantheon/{{Popularity}} Squarepants]], [[Pantheon/{{Protagonists}} Timmy Turner]] (They share the same creator), and the one who first brought them together, [[Pantheon/ScientistsAndGeniuses Jimmy]] [[Pantheon/SpeechAToM Neutron]], [[VideoGame/NicktoonsUnite once joined forces]] in order to stop their villains from taking over the multiverse.
* He heard that a boy named Ben Tennyson once held an evil ghost known as Zs'Skayr and though he once used him to assume the form of Ghostfreak, he manage to regain enough strength to break free from the Omnitrix. Danny is willing to work with Ben if it means defeating him from any of his diabolical plans.
* Though he is sure that none of the ghosts in his RoguesGallery have made it into the Pantheon (yet), there are some deities that he is not happy to see when they are similar to the adversaries he fought.
** There was the Dazzlings, who once tried to hypnotize the Pantheon, which was similar to Ember [=McLain=].
* Danny is very wary about the Men in Black as he faced an expy of them called the Guys in White, who hunt down any paranormal activities. [[spoiler:For their part, the MIB don't have any interest in Danny. As they deal with extra-terrestrial violence rather than supernatural stuff; that's a Ghostbusters thing.]]
* In Christmas, Danny used to hate it, but only because his parents were always arguing over the existence of Santa Claus, making his experience during them unpleasant. Until one Christmas, he went to the Ghost Zone after shopping some ornaments and decorations in order to destroy them, but he accidentally destroyed a poem by The Ghost Writer and was trapped in his second one in order to teach him a lesson. One shenanigan later (and after beating him up), he learned that "Christmas is celebrated in the way of their choosing."
* He was absolutely horrified to find out that Dark Danny ascended to the Pantheon as well. However, he ran into Clockwork before battling him, who assured Danny that "[[YouAreNotAlone He is not your problem alone any longer]]".
* Danny Fenton was enraged to learn that his nemesis had ascended, and immediately went off to kick his ass. However, both of them will team up against Dark Danny. Vlad considers that Danny as an abomination, whose actions would lead that Vlad to realize what a fool he'd been.
* He once went into Margaret's temple, mistaking her for his own ghost "Ember" ([[Creator/TaraStrong He got confused by her voice sounding similar]]). Once the incident was cleared up, he did apologize to her and moved on, but has his eyes on her as she's an assassin.
* Easily has made friends with the ghost girl Erma, not only for helping him keep the peace with other ghost deities, but especially as she reminds Danny of his own ghost girl cousin, Dani Phantom. He is currently trying to find a way to ascend her, seeing her as a great companion to Erma.
* Prior to becoming a ghost, he dreamed of being an astronaut. He shares that dream with [[Pantheon/{{Subjects}} Yuki Jojima]] of the Kamen Rider Club and was proud when he learned that Yuki successfully made her dream come true. Although the two like to make jokes over how Danny doesn't have to worry about a lack of oxygen while in his ghost form and going into outer space is a breeze for him.

* Feared by: Any god with a fear of ghosts
* Has your shadow ever gained a mind of its own? Has a room you have been in suddenly chilled to shivering temperatures? Have you ever felt like [[BeingWatched something was watching you]] from within the darkest corners of your room? Within the world of ''Franchise/{{Pokemon}}'', all of these occurrences can be traced back to a singular source: a Gengar hoping to play tricks on mankind. Starting off their existence as Gastly, its miasmic form can become a Haunter at Level 25, to which a simple trade is all that is needed to obtain a Gengar. Favoring to haunt mountains or cities late into the night, Gengar remains unique in the fact that it is one of the few Pokémon that is confirmed to be downright malicious, using its spectral tactics to plant curses on innocent people, if not stealing their soul entirely. With its Special Attack and Speed stats, alongside its diverse movepool, it has become so good at this that [[VideoGame/PokemonSunAndMoon a certain Pokédex entry]] advises to simply ''[[YouHaveNoChanceToSurvive accept your inevitable death]]'' should you ever be hunted down by a member of their species.
* Due to how widespread the Gastly line is, Gengar managed to appear across numerous regions, with only Hoenn being spared from their spectral onslaught. Despite their reputations are vicious beings, Gengar has managed to exist somewhat peacefully with humanity, as any Pokémon worth their salt. However, obeying the orders of snotty kids hasn't been without its benefits, as Gengar has managed to be at the right place and time to obtain two special forms from the regions it has appeared in:
** After the Ultimate Weapon ravished Kalos during a period of warfare, stones obtained from the petrified phantom can be used by trainers to Mega Evolve their Gengar. Empowered through this held item, Gengarite, Gengar's relationship with the world around it is fundamentally warped. In this advanced state, the Pokémon now sees everyone around it equally... as prey. Overflowing with homicidal intent, Mega Evolved Gengar go out of their way to harm those around them, with even their very own trainer being on their newly crafted shit list. Isn't hard to strike out names from their black book either, given their newfound ability to access alternate dimensions.
** Galar has also been a haven for Gengar, with the energy radiating from Power Spots across the region allowing Gengar to access a higher form. Using their Dynamax Bands, trainers are able to have Gengar ascend into becoming a Gigantimax Pokémon, the form being an elevated form of ordinary Dynamaxing. Now over 65 feet/20 meters in height, Gigantimax Gengar's body becomes overflowing with cursed energy so grand, its now gigantic maw is rumored to be a literal gateway to the afterlife. This is a fact Gengar puts to good use, choosing to create facsimiles of trainers' loved ones to lure prey toward it.
* It was a cold winter night when Gengar's presence was first felt in the pantheon. While the night was always without much comfort from its weaker residents, claims of shadows laughing as they dwarfed their owners was something that tipped off several gods knowledgable on the grounds of the supernatural. In response to these pranks, Danny Phantom sought to investigate the area surrounding his hall, suspecting that the string of serial scaring was of spectral origin. His suspicions were proven correct after his abilities tipped him off to Gengar's location, a dimly-lit street not far from the House of Otherness. As a cold draft overtook the hero, his shadow suddenly stood up to reveal itself in its true form. Combat between the two specters began almost immediately, Gengar confronting his foe's cryokinesis and energy waves with shadows. While Gengar was ultimately kept on the back foot due to the hero's assault, a well-timed Sludge Bomb left Danny reeling from the toxins, allowing Gengar to scale up a nearby building as a shade to escape. Ever since then, Gengar likes to leave a hint of its presence when stalking the streets, a calling card for anyone brave - or foolish - enough to seek down the specter.
** Not deterred from his failure, Danny was quick to alert other ghost-hunting deities of a hostile spirit on the loose, calling for allies in his quest to track Gengar down. Among those interested in incepting the phantom's trickery, his own parents were more than willing to lend a hand, with a call being made to get the Ghostbusters involved as well. Despite his general lack of worry that these figures would manage to ever ensnare them, Gengar is still wary enough to not attempt a direct confrontation, unless he is sure he can get the drop on them. Not that Gengar minds playing defensively when faced with a more dangerous threat, as he thoroughly enjoys playing cat and mouse with the gaggle of ghosthunters should they ever be on the move to exterminate the more unsavory spooks amongst the deities.
** Outside of Danny's bouts with the grinning ghoul, news of the sudden rash of hauntings caused other pursuers of the paranormal into trying their hand at hunting down Gengar, or at the very least pacifying them. The first amongst these gods to try this tactic was that of Reimu Hakurei, having enough experience with incidents caused by the supernatural to pursue them in hopes of recognition. While Gengar first thought of the idea of ambushing her within her shrine, the fact she often hangs around it in hopes of donations has drawn Gengar off the idea. As of present, Gengar hopes to one day catch Reimu off-guard while she is in the middle of one of her flights, using his shadows to pin her down before a single bullet can be fired from the shrine maiden. On the opposite scale of preparedness, Gengar thinks very little of Luigi, who was strong-armed into hunting down Gengar by the Ghostbusters. In truth, Gengar was ready to get into a fight with the plumber upon first encountering them, but all it took was Gengar to pop out with a playful grimace for Luigi to [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere sent blubbering in the opposite direction]].
*** Despite his laughter in the face of danger, however, there is one ghost-hunter that Gengar actually is somewhat afraid of: Pac-Man. Yes, it is true that the pellet-munching blob is by far the least threatening figure out there for Gengar's non-existent head, something Gengar tried to take advantage of. However, something Gengar ''didn't'' take into account was the abilities he may have possessed, responding to his taunting by attempting to swallow him whole. Instead of chasing away his target with a sudden scare as he hoped, it was Gengar who was left to flee in sheer terror, the pac-person trying to deal a crunch that would do far more than supereffective damage. It was quiet for a few days within the pantheon after that, Gengar not so much as sticking a toe out as he coped with his frazzled nerves. Even as Gengar returned to his usual routine of scares, he always keeps one eye out for Pac-Man as he does so, with even hearing a "waka waka" in the distance being enough to send Gengar packing.
*** Independent of the searches the ghost hunters of the pantheon conducted, another figure would come to arise that would put off Gengar from attacking without much thought. Seeking out them based on him feeling the presence of a particularly nasty spectre, the Batter is very keen on seeing Gengar wiped off the face of the Earth, both for the genuine threat he poses and for his own vitriolic zeal. While Gengar would be normally willing to rush his opponent through his tricks, given his previous encounter with Pac-Man, he decided instead to first try toying with them to judge their reaction. Throwing the strongest illusions and tricks he could muster, Gengar's hope quickly turned to unease after seeing the Batter simply brute force his way out of them and continuing with his single-minded quest, [[NoSell completely unphased by the tricks pulled on them]]. Following this incident, Gengar has stuck to lurking in the shadows wherever the Batter is around, trying to study them in hopes of finding an opening to ambush the avatar. However, given the fact Gengar later learned of the Batter's ability to bring even deities to their knees, taking them on is something Gengar has no intention of doing alone.
* Due to their spectral nature, it was inevitable for Gengar to bump into other ghosts within the pantheon. When it came to theorizing about the matter, many hoped that a good friend would help Gengar adjust and be less prone to cause mischief. Needless to say, their hopes were quickly quashed after Gengar wandered into a strange mansion one day, hoping to transform it into a cool, quiet place to rest between acts of tomfoolery. Sneaking past the strange creatures who also called the manor home, his violation of the homestead's structure caught the attention of its owner. Confronting them personally over the matter, she was surprised to see the culprit wasn't some crafty escape artist or some brutish adventurer who broke down the walls, but a fellow spirit. Introducing herself to the grinning ghoul before her, Spooky managed to easily befriend Gengar through their shared love of ruining people's day through their mayhem. Since then, Gengar has become a regular guest of Spooky's manor, with them being granted the honor of being the secondary Specimen 9. As for Gengar, while didn't hold any major value of the strange girl's kinship, what really caught his eye was that of Spooky's master plan: unleashing an army of phantoms upon the pantheon to show their dominance. The idea of a world where he is free to devour armies of souls and pull tricks on the helpless masses was indistinguishable from paradise to Gengar, making the phantom do whatever he can to ensure it.
** With Spooky's blessing, the road was paved for Gengar to help unite some of the other phantasma who call the pantheon home. Through witnessing his escapades from afar, King Boo, Dark Danny, and Slappy took interest in Gengar for their own means, meeting with Spooky to formally discuss with them. With their shared enemies within the living, the gods were quick to form a basic code of conduct in order to enact their plans for ethereal dominion. Honored to have united these figures together, Gengar humbly considers himself a trusted ally of these figures. While Gengar would remain content if he was just playing with the humble Boos amongst the divine (which he sometimes does), he feels that it is his duty to help aid their unofficial alliance whenever they act as one voice. As such, Gengar has made a mental note on what he would do after defeating his some of his allies' sworn arch-enemies: [[TargetedToHurtTheHero bringing Danny and Luigi to them to personally oversee whatever fate awaits them]].
** However, despite their friendship, a quality Gengar doesn't share with Spooky is her distaste for other female ghosts in the pantheon. While the two don't share much in common with one another, Yuyuko Saigyouji and her servant Youmu Konpaku has got along well by Gengar, namely due to the fact it doesn't see them as an attack on his groove. Having once served Yuyuko directly during an earlier stay in the pantheon, Gengar sometimes can be seen repaying her kindness through gifts of stolen food, something that has caused Gengar to be a frequent annoyance to the chefs and vendors of the pantheon. While this is something Spooky can at least tolerate, something that bugs her to no end is his friendship with "that little nuisance" Erma Williams. On the days Gengar feels more playful than downright malicious, he can sometimes be seen doing acts of roguery with the young spectre, the two thoroughly having a blast all the while. Further aggravated by how Erma sees her top general as a misunderstood sweetheart, Spooky has sometimes needed to drag Gengar by the tail back to her mansion, lecturing them on why he can't just go off and play with her arch-nemesis while she does so. In truth, Gengar doesn't mean to annoy Spooky with his antics, he's just out there to have his own brand of fun.
* It is no secret within the pantheon that Gengar is a general troublemaker, through and through. To this end, Gengar shows very little restraint or formality to anyone, even his friends being at risk of being caught in the crossfire of his mischief. However, there is one set of gods that manage to turn Gengar from an untamed fiend to the mere image of poise and formality, that being of the Addams. Hearing of his antics from within their sub-house, the two resolved themselves to invite Gengar to dine with them one day, in the hope to quell the Fenton's yapping. While the two feared such an event would be a disaster, their love for the macabre and unordinary was not missed by Gengar, who actually managed to behave for once during his time with them. This was something the Addams were especially thrilled to see, not just because it makes the ghost less likely of being hunted down quite so soon, but also because they saw them as absolutely ''adorable''. While Gengar continues to cause chaos wherever he goes, seeing the two alone makes Gengar careful not to embarrass himself in front of them. This remains especially true any time the two request for Gengar to come with them to anything remotely formal, with the ghost being as polite as possible throughout the entire event. This tactic actually garnered praise from the various ghost hunters of the pantheon, as while it isn't a permanent solution, they can rest easy knowing that Gengar doesn't treat every god in the pantheon as another hapless victim.
** Another figure that seeks to pacify Gengar is that of Nate Adams. Hearing of the Addams' successful attempt from Reimu, Nate made sure to seek out the spirit on purpose, hoping to convince the spirit to at least attempt to play nice with the other gods within the pantheon. Noting that any attempt to use his spiritual powers would be quickly foiled, Gengar decided to humor the hero's request with a hearty chuckle... [[LyingFingerCross and two fingers behind his back]]. While Gengar does act courteously around Nate, what he's mainly interested him for is his knowledge of the spiritual, especially the Yo-kai Watch and the Crank-a-kai. Due to his being completely helpless without these tools, Gengar conspires to one day swipe them from the hero when he's at his most unaware, bringing them to his allies in order to be used for their nefarious schemes.
** That being said, Gengar isn't above respecting some of the trainers who managed to properly wield his species' might. Of the various masters of monsters of the pocket variety amongst the gods, Gengar feels the most attachment towards Acerola. Not only is she a natural Ghost-type user familiar with the paranormal, but she also finds Gengar to be little more than a mostly harmless goofball. Even with his sometimes devious ways, Gengar is all for the love he receives from them because of who they are. While Gengar manages to earn frequent cuddles and snacks from the trial captain due to their shared nature, Gengar also isn't one to [[StraightManAndWiseGuy bounce off trainers of the more stalwart variety]]. Enjoying the company of Sabrina and Silver, Gengar loves to prove himself worthy of their attention, both to showcase his powers when needed and to try breaking their icy demeanor. While Silver is more subdued in his enjoyment of the spirit's antics (occasionally cracking a smile at his tricks), the anime version of Sabrina thinks that he's a total riot. Additionally, Gengar has a lot of respect towards Ash Ketchum, both for giving a member of his kind a second chance at friendship and for using them to become champion of the entire Pokémon world. Given his connections, Gengar has made it point to ensure them no harm once his machinations with Spooky bare fruit, wanting them to continue living amongst the gods even when more of the living ones are forced out.
* The ambitious trickster he is, Gengar sees himself as the only god truly able to spread mischief and fear to the pantheon, seeing any fellow prankster as competition to his throne. As such, it didn't take long for Gengar to become aware of the existence of those who spread their own brand of anarchy across the pantheon, with a strange woman being the first he'd encounter. Falling victim to a swiped and rebranded ghost trap, Gengar would find himself carted off to the hall of Tainted Love by the woman, hoping to nab the spirit as her own partner Pokémon. However, what she got instead was a grazed Shadow Ball to the face, insulted that a mere human was one to pull the wool over his eyes. [[NoodleIncident No one knows exactly what happened in her temple in the immediate aftermath]] (apart from the hole punched into the roof by the pre-mentioned Shadow Ball), but what ''is'' known was the wall of the hall bursting open as the two engaged in a fight of the fiends, the two unexpectedly enjoying themselves during their clash. While the hall normally wasn't one to call in heroes to stop an existing threat, the war waged on to such an extent that an extremely annoyed Bruce Wayne had to be dragged in and deal with the two. In the days following, Gengar has come of his own accord into Harley's temple when in the mood for some good old-fashioned prank war, something Harley happily accepts and Batman rather ''un''happily has to break up.
** As for Harley's on-and-off ex, Gengar did consider approaching the Joker at one point in hopes of teaming up with them, having an appreciation for their wild nature. As part of his evaluation of the clown prince, Gengar decided to study them from the shadows to see what kind of antics he'd get up to. While first assuming the Joker would just get up to some well-appreciated acts of mayhem, Gengar stuck around a bit too long to see what he does himself for the more expendable gods, [[HorrifyingTheHorror something he'd thoroughly regret]]. Simultaneously impressed and disgusted with the barbarousness of the jester of genocide, it was at that point Gengar thought the Joker would work far better as a rival to them, desiring to knock him down a peg. At present, Gengar currently has a habit of eavesdropping on the discussions the GUAE holds in regard to their lipsticked ally, hoping to discover the one thing to make the Joker be the one left screaming in terror.
** Its on-brand style of trickery, deception, and general trolling landed Gengar a spot among the Itazura Griefers, at the request of [[Pantheon/VillainousRoles Miyo Takano]]. The Pokémon was more than pleased to learn of a group of like-minded pranksters that can also help it out when it comes to making fools of the Pantheon. However, a rose has its thorns, and for Gengar, Alarak was those thorns- even within the Griefers, Alarak was rather troublesome though he did hold a leadership position in the group, given his jerkass nature overall. Despite this, though, Gengar is happy to find people he can call equals & friends, not just rivals, and is banking on tagging some of them along to help with its schemes.
---> '''Reimu:''' I thought Gengar can't get any more annoying...and then it became part of that group of fools [[Pantheon/{{Logic}} Seija]] rounded up. Ugh, at least Yuyuko & Youmu can keep that ghost in check.
* Even with its self-declared role as the premier prankster amongst the deities, there is one category of god that Gengar is more than willing to assist in their pranks: other spirits. Within his own house, Gengar has been known to get up to shenanigans with Peeves and the Flying Dutchman. Using their combined spiritual abilities to generate some truly masterful scares, Gengar is more than willing to hang out with the two members of his own house when he's in the mood to commit some annoying yet harmless pranks. When asked about the other members of his hall, while Gengar doesn't mind the presence of the three onryo, he isn't one to trifle with them. Understanding that they are a very different, far more prickly type of phantom, Gengar gives them a wide berth for his own safety.
** However, there is no denying that Gengar feels truly at home amongst the other trickster Pokémon of the pantheon. Among them, Gengar finds a particular kinship with Rotom, seeing them as an excellent opener to help set the move. After all, what better opener for a classic ghost invasion exists than their appearance being told by haywire technology? Outside of the electrical menace, Gengar has also found company within Cofagrigus, Sableye, and Zoroark. While his behavior with the three mainly serves to spread general impishness across the divine (alongside holding ceasefires for the two's chummy rivalry, something seen as less savory is his relationship with that of Mimikyu. Acting as the living form of the [[GoodAngelBadAngel demon on its shoulder]], Gengar is currently trying to convince the costumed creep to abandon any lofty goals it has of mimicking Pikachu, embracing who it is as a being of pure terror and sadism. This has been something that hasn't gone over well with other gods, worrying that his manipulation may cause some serious harm being inflicted on others.
** Outside of his own house, one figure stands out above all others as Gengar's pick for master of terror: Beetlejuice. In truth, Gengar is so awestruck by his presence that he's actually intimidated from approaching them, not wanting to risk upsetting the god at all. However, what Gengar has heard about the grand guru of all things grim are that of bedtime stories to a small child, thoroughly enrapturing to them. As such, Gengar is currently building up the courage to formally approach Beetlejuice to formally introduce himself, hoping to strike up a friendship with them for the sole purpose of [[BringMyBrownPants requiring the gods to wear brown jeans of the rest of eternity]]. Not only that, but Gengar also hopes to use Beetlejuice as a possible benefactor of his plans with Spooky, his aid being seen as invaluable for their plans of a usurpation most haunting.
** Not every ghost in the pantheon stand for Gengar's antics, however. Given his placid nature, Casper wasn't exactly thrilled to hear of the bad reputation Gengar fulfilled. Fearing that his presence would give his own hall even more of a bad rap, he was quick to fly towards the House of Otherness to confide with Cappy. Devising a possible solution for their issue. Together, they formulated a plan of distracting the Pokémon while Cappy possesses them, then dragging the docile spirit to the Ghostbusters. Luring Gengar aside with humble chatter in their house, Cappy waited from a dusty cupboard in order to be called. After being the signal, Cappy flew with gusto towards Gengar to plop himself on his head, hoping that Gengar would be controllable enough while possessed to disarm them. Instead of being possessed, however, Gengar laughed at the strange, hat-like spirit's little trick, seemingly thinking the two just played a cute gag upon them. Cursing their failure after Gengar bid them farewell, Casper has seen begun to discuss further ideas with both Reimi Sugimoto and Napstablook with the aim to resolve his threat peacefully.

* Ju-On. A curse that strikes fear (and death) in the hearts of many. The product of an individual [[CruelAndUnusualDeath dying a violent death]], it is a dark supernatural force that brutally ends every living being it comes in contact with. And there is no more infamous example of this curse's terror than Kayako Saeki. Once an ordinary (albeit shy) Japanese housewife, she was killed by her husband Takeo along with her son Toshio and the family cat Mar after he discovered her love for another man[[note]][[Film/{{Juon}} her son's schoolteacher]] or [[Film/TheGrudge an American professor]] depending on the adaptation[[/note]] recorded in her journal. Spraining her ankle, getting her neck snapped, and stabbed multiple times in quick succession, she revived as an onryō hell-bent on killing everyone who steps foot in the Saeki household, with Kobayashi and her husband among her first victims. Last seen having [[spoiler:merged with Sadako Yamamura to form Sadakaya, her curse has now reached the Pantheon[[note]]and she's separated from Sadako now apparently[[/note]]]].
* The Ghostbusters happened to be visiting the House of Ghosts to stop another disturbance by King Boo. Walking back to their temple after a successful operation, they stumbled on the old house and wandered inside. Since [[CuriosityKilledTheCast curiosity kills the cat]], they were cornered by Kayako and [[{{Gorn}} splattered in the attic]]. When their remains were found by patrolling 501st stormtroopers[[note]]and one getting killed in the process of recovery[[/note]], they were immediately carted to the House of Pantheon/LifeAndVitality for revival. It took several weeks for them to come back to themselves and retell what happened (which was not pretty). Since then, Kayako's new temple has been relocated to an area farther away from the rest of her neighbours and heavily quarantined to prevent her curse from permeating the rest of the Pantheon.
** This hasn't hindered Kayako in the slightest, since the Ghostbusters had gotten her curse (as well as the 501st stormtroopers) and it spreads like ThePlague. Merely stepping into the Saeki house curses you, and there is ''no way'' to break free of it. Granted, the fact that DeathIsCheap in the Pantheon has heavily mitigated the death toll, but Kayako won't cease pursuing whoever has disturbed her abode and this in turn only increases her fear factor. The only way to be directly killed by Kayako now is to step into her temple and remain there long enough for her to attack, as the Ghostbusters discovered to their peril. Only Ray has any semblance of wanting to get back at her.
** Don't try running away from her either. While an ordinary villain would pull a YouCanRunButYouCantHide on the pursued, Kayako can just appear in front of you, behind you, even ''below'' you. Nowhere is safe. Not even [[Film/{{Juon}} under the covers]] or even ''[[Film/TheGrudge the clothes on your back]]''!
** Kayako has similarly been targeted by various {{Occult Detective}}s and [[HunterOfMonsters Monster Hunters]], although none of them have had any real success. The Winchesters mistakenly believed her to be a Shojo, a Japanese alcohol spirit which can be killed by being stabbed with a samurai sword consecrated by a Shinto blessing. [[NoSell It didn't work]]. Others like John Constantine and Skulduggery Pleasant have tried various {{Magical Incantation}}s, FullContactMagic and ElementalPowers, [[RunningGag which also didn't really do much to her]]. Finally, there are those such as Hellboy and Danny Phantom who tried to attack her more directly, [[OverlyLongGag which also failed]].
* Note that this Kayako is an amalgamation of several versions of herself (the one from the original novel, the one from the first four films, the one from the American adaptation, and the one from the reboot films). The Court has decreed that while this Kayako has memories from all four incarnations of her, she most heavily draws from the Japanese film versions of her. Not that it makes much of a difference anyway, [[MortonsFork since they all died the same way and share near identical characteristics]].
* Kayako is a very different animal from Sadako Yamamura, the StringyHairedGhostGirl from her sister franchise, the Literature/TheRing. Sadako at the very least is seen to have a visible awareness of her abilities, [[PsychicPowers having used her psychic powers]] [[HauntedTechnology to manufacture her signature videotape curse and later adapting to spreading it via the Internet]], Kayako's Ju-On curse is almost entirely a byproduct of [[UnstoppableRage her violent death and she is entirely fueled by her rage and anger]]. Because of this, [[Pantheon/{{Slaughter}} Atrocitus]] is wondering if he can force her to wear a Red Lantern ring to serve as a weapon for him to kill [[Pantheon/TimeManipulation Krona]] with, after determining it as useless to control Alma Wade with a ring. All attempts have proven unsuccessful since you don't control Kayako. She controls ''you''.
* Before entering the Pantheon proper, Kayako was one of the many J-Horror ghosts roaming the halls of the Dominion of [[Pantheon/EstablishmentsAndDistricts Heavenly Host Elementary School]], killing trapped people there in much the same way as she would have done normally, her infamy rivalling that of the school's main spirit, Sachiko. When Kayako was beamed out of there following her ascension, Sachiko tagged along to became her High Priestess so she could have more fun outside her nightmarish realm. This was tepidly supported by the Main House who saw giving her someone to interact with as a better option compared [[LesserOfTwoEvils to her rampaging alone across the Pantheon]]. [[ThrowTheDogABone To her credit]], while mostly ignorant of Sachiko, when she does, Kayako does love her like her own daughter. Sachiko is still disgruntled that the dynamic paints her as the NumberTwo to Kayako to deities that don't know of VideoGame/CorpseParty, where in Heavenly Host she reigned supreme, yet remains supportive of her so-called mother in killing and torturing, encouraging her in this attitude.
** Eveline has a similar dynamic with her, as her chief desire is to have a family of her own. While usually with the [[Pantheon/FearsomeArchetypes the Bakers]], she acts as a surrogate daughter to Kayako and acts as a secret weapon of sorts in the family to combat Sadako, since her powers are far more diverse than simple killing and teleporting, reaching even the ability to control matter. Hence, Erma Williams should be an enemy, yet an odd kinship with Toshio (and [[https://tapas.io/episode/1215998 going on a picnic with the family]]) completely flips the script here.
* Speaking of Toshio, her son is probably the only individual she expresses any sort of affection (or even positive emotion) for. A common tactic of his is to appear as an ordinary child (he is normally a naked pale ghost) to lure sympathetic prey closer for his mother to attack. He mocks them with his signature meow signifying how his soul has merged with that of Mar, the family cat. Besides that, he mostly hangs around his mother, silent and hopeful for new victims to come. [[spoiler:New evidence has come to light that Toshio may not be Kayako's child at all. In truth, he is the reincarnation of a child named Toshio Yamaga, left in a closet to die during a heat wave. His resultant Ju-On spirit entered Kayako's womb and fulfilled her wish to have a child. In essence, this means that Takeo's suspicion of Kayako's child not being his was correct and Toshio indirectly caused Kayako's own demise and Ju-On curse]].
** Kayako seems to have a twisted sense of affection towards other children in the Pantheon, and saves them for last in any one of her killing sprees. Some children have tried to help her out (if they're powerful enough). [[Pantheon/{{Protagonists}} Timmy Turner]] once wished her back to life, but the power of the curse proved too strong and she snapped back within four seconds. Da Rules probably should update its pages.
* The only person she was never able to scare or outright kill is Son Chi-Chi, who looked her straight in the face and did....something. Eyewitness reports state that Kayako quailed in terror and disappeared in a pool of blood.
** She is scared shitless of the Ghost Rider as his Penance Stare could permanently incapacitate her. Yes, it works on ghosts.
* Zamasu was very intrigued by her arrival. While he groused about how she was an example of the foolishness of mortals as usual, since her love for another man led to her death by an equally [[AxCrazy foolish and crazy husband]]. After Terumi suggested he actually ''do something'' again for once, he checked out the house to witness one of her murder sprees and had a brief skirmish with her. [[CurbStompBattle You can guess who won]]. Now he has the slightest tinge of respect for her unbridled desire to decimate anyone who comes near her or her family, a slave to her own hatred. The fact that she has a second place [[Pantheon/{{Contempt}} in his own House]] has only increased his interest in manipulating her to commit [[EvilIsPetty petty murders]] for him to ensure plausible deniability.
** Mephisto finds her to be the perfect source of Hatred, the Ju-On potentially making him all the more powerful given his domain being hatred and a tool he could use for his schemes. Doubt she would like him back.
* As mentioned above, [[spoiler:Kayako can forcibly merge with Sadako Yamamura to form an entity containing both curses: Sadakaya. The resultant spirit has Sadako's attire and mannerisms but emits Kayako's death rattle. The videotape also is played in the doorway of the Saeki household instead of the traditional well]]. This form has double the power of its constituent ghosts combined and is nigh invulnerable to Intermediate deities and below. Now that they are separated again, it would be unwise to wish for them to fuse again.
** This hasn't stopped people from trying. Dr. Gero in one of his 'phases' captured Sadako by purposely cursing himself with the videotape and entering Kayako's temple. Once this was accomplished, he used a shock collar to trap Sadakaya and increase the fusion rate via stolen Potara Earrings. The result was '[[SuperMode Super Sadakaya]]'. The ghost unleashed a psychic wave that utterly decimated the House of Ghosts and necessitated a full rebuild of the place to prevent a chain reaction of ghost invasions into the Pantheon. [[KarmaHoudini Miraculously, Dr. Gero escaped justice for this heinous act]]. In fact, he has plans on trying again, only with ''[[TemptingFate more]]'' ghosts.
* If Sadako had never existed, Alma Wade would take the top spot as Kayako's chief rival and enemy. As they are scarily similar in traits and personality, they get into altercations often with Alma winning almost all the time. At least twenty victims can be caught in the crossfire, and the anger exuded was so great that even Red Lantern Corps member were [[HorrifyingTheHorror terrified]] and longer certain that they can control Kayako in any way, shape or form.
** This bitter rivalry has gained the attention of Dark Danny, who sees her as a useful substitute for Alma Wade as a potential ghost-in-chief for him. Danny is determined to prevent that from happening.
* Every ''When They Cry'' deity hates her with a passion as her Ju-On curse is nothing more than a worse version of the Himamizawa Syndrome that can't be sealed because is it contained within a sentient being. They never venture near the Saeki household if they can help. Shion in particular sealed herself in her temple [[ProperlyParanoid for 24 hours]] after learning of her ascension.
* In her own twisted way, she sympathises with Scorpion in regards to him losing his family, and Scorpion doesn't mess with her due to [[CruelAndUnusualDeath the nature of her death]].
* If there is any hope for Kayako, there is speculation that she returns to her normal self on her birthday, like Sachiko. Since her birth date has never been divulged, there is no way of determining if that is the case.
* Also has a spot in the House of [[Pantheon/{{Contempt}} Hatred]].

* Complicated Relationship: [[Pantheon/CombatOccupations Erma]] [[Pantheon/FearsomeArchetypes Williams]], [[Pantheon/FestivitiesAndHolidays Pinkie Pie]]
* Sadako was formerly the high priest for Samara. It was suggested that Sadako and Samara act as co-goddesses. Inspector Zenigata received two cursed videotapes in the post for making such a suggestion, which were removed by the SCP Foundation. In the end, Sadako was voted into the position, and Samara demoted to high priestess.
* Doesn't technically have a temple, but rather just dwells within her well and videotapes. Some have suggested everything that has a screen is her altar.
* A lot of the Pantheon freaked out when it was revealed that Sadako is genetically male. She found unexpected comfort in Yubel, who told her, "I know how you feel".
* Due to Sadako's DivineParentage, there has been mass speculation who her anonymous, supernatural father is. Aquaman, Davy Jones, and most gods with psychic powers have denied it. It is suspected that her father also conceived Samara at some point due to their near identical simularities. Erma's mother Emiko was asked if she had a long lost sister, or if Erma had a twin, which she staunchly denied.
* Banned from the House of Technology for good reason! The SCP Foundation have to keep a close eye on Sadako's movements, just in case she tries to spread her curse through other means.
* Approached Manny Calavera to ask him how to escape her eternal damnation, but all he said was to find a hole to hide in. Sadako then chucked him down her well and haunted him for a week.
* Attempted to invade [[Series/{{Teletubbies}} Teletubbyland]] but that backfired when she knocked Tinky Winky into a brief coma when attempting to crawl out of his stomach telly.
* A pretty skilled user of the XanatosGambit, telekinetically creating a [[TheVirus DNA-copying virus]] that can either kill victims or impregnate them with clones of her to ensure she survives.
* Sees Website/YouTube as a possible source to spread her curse, only to receive copyright messages from Viacom every time she has tried. Sadako intends on sending a videotape to Viacom's bosses at some point. Actually a clever ruse set up by numerous deities to avert her attempts.
* Secretly likes the House of Theatre due to her past hobbies and would like to restart her acting career if not for scaring everybody.
* To her surprise, was once approached by (read: tackle hugged into the ground) by Erma Williams, whom believed her to be her mother. However, shortly after, she realized her mistake and quickly got off her. Emiko certainly got a shock when Sadako turned up with Erma in hand. Sadako does wish that Erma would stop pulling her back through televisions of those that watched her tape, often to force out an apology. Her chances of succeeding in her plans have greatly diminished due to how Erma is willing to step up and personally intervene with her whenever she tries to kill her victims.
* She has a complex relationship with the [[Pantheon/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic Ponies of Equestria]]. Whilst Samara despises all equine for personal reasons, Sadako found herself in the company of Pinkie Pie, who emerged from a television before her, baffling Sadako with her hyperactive personality. They peculiar sunshine and raincloud friendship perplexes most deities, Pinkie encouraging Sadako to put aside her grudges, loosen up, and have some fun. Along with Erma, this led to a series of pranks where they would burst out of televisions to surprise unsuspecting victims. Pinkie took it one step further by creating a fake copy of Sadako's cursed videotape, and launching surprise birthday parties for deities. Needless to say, Sadako was left bewildered and confused, showing signs of change whilst in the company of Erma and Pinkie.
* Appears to regard Alma Wade as a kindred spirit due to their similar backstories, and both act as Erma's "bodyguards" when she becomes upset.
* If she and Hisako cross paths, even if a glance, can lead to quite the stand-off, Hisako regarding her aimless revenge to be pointless. Sadako was put in the doghouse so to speak (i.e. her well) after Erma caught her trying to blow Hisako's head up with her powers. They eventually made up, and Sadako steers clear of Hisako to avoid further confrontations for Erma's sake.
* Her high priest, Samara, is a difficult ghost to deal with, has a profound hatred for horses and most adults, and can only aim her powers rather than control them. Some have theorised she is actually an alternate version of Erma, lacking the good parenting and guidance she was brought up with. Erma tries to avoid Samara, finding her frightening. The relationship between Sadako and Samara is hard to tell, since both are so similar. But, in rare flashes, Sadako has been seeing petting Samara on the head or playing with her hair.
* Has a second counterpart from Korea named Park Euh-Sun, who is rarely seen. The only real difference is that when she kills people, they develop pointed elven ears for some reason.
* Repeatedly hounded by the Ghostbusters and occasionally Luigi, who have come up with ever ridiculous ways to suppress her curse. Antics have included putting a grate atop her well, or recording over all of her videotapes with episodes of WesternAnimation/TheClangers.
* Recently, [[Pantheon/GameModes the Entity]] has caught interest in Sadako and how her curse works. As of right now, attempts to capture her and make her one of its Killers has failed, but it believes that it only needs a few months to do so.

* Within the netherworld, also known as Meikai, there lies the White Jade Tower, Hakugyokurou, and there reside the realm's overseer, Yuyuko Saigyouji. She has the ability to, besides being able to manipulate and manage the spirits of the dead, inflict a guaranteed death upon anyone- [[AnyoneCanDie and I mean anyone]]- barring specific cases. Accompanying Yuyuko in Meikai is her trusty loyal, and admittedly too-serious-at-times aide, Youmu Konpaku, a half-human half-phantom. Hailing from her father Youki, who has also been Yuyuko's servant, Youmu is an exceptional swordswoman, even able to convert {{Sword Beam}}s that she swings out into danmaku. Not only do both of them happen t have ghost lights by their sides by all times, with Yuyuko having small ones around her while Youmu has a single large phantom, they are rather...cute, too.
* For a while, they have been ascended together, but it is rather inconvenient at times for them to be apart, especially since Youmu had two temples compared to Yuyuko's one. So after some time mulling it over, Yuyuko decided that she would personally take this up with the Court of the Gods to fix this inconsistency by requesting to also represent HitodamaLight. However...things went smoother than expected, as she barely got to the Court when Eiki Shiki just so happened to be walking out, presumably after the retrial & ascension of [[Pantheon/IdentityIssues Ange & Princess]].
--> '''Eiki:''' Why didn't you ask me earlier, Yuyuko? A change like that is extremely easy to handle. It won't take even an afternoon, so follow me and we'll get it sorted.
* The aforementioned Eiki is very much an esteemed individual to both Yuyuko & Youmu, albeit for varied reasons. For instance, Yuyuko's place in Gensokyo's Netherworld as its overseer was appointed by Eiki herself, and the judge would be a frequent visitor of the princess, sharing tea and stories together. Youmu, being Yuyuko's servant, also respects Eiki as her superior, and is sometimes chided by the yama to make sure that Yuyuko gets her sword practice in. Komachi, Eiki's main subordinate and Pantheonic herald, is also rather friendly with Youmu, due to them having similar functions with their roles in their afterlives, giving each other tips whenever they cross paths, which is somewhat rare.
* Speaking of those who are friends with Yuyuko & Youmu, one of Gensokyo's known Sages, Yukari Yakumo, is also seen as such to them. To Yuyuko, Yukari is someone very special to her, as they had even been together well before her (Yuyuko's) death, and ever since. In fact, some people have differing theories on what they do when Yukari & Yuyuko get together for tea, but many [[LesYay have a very popular idea]] of what that may be. Of course, a friend of Yuyuko's is a friend of Youmu's as well, and such, Yukari is one, despite understanding her inner thought processes and outputs with the same capacity as her own mistress's. Youmu is also respectful of Yukari's own servant Ran (and her servant Chen), despite the gap youkai telling her that it's fine not to; but given that they both serve powerful masters, it does make sense.
* Applies To Yuyuko:
** Yuyuko has two known powers, and both are extremely powerful on their own. She firstly has the ability to manipulate the souls of the dead, a power that she had even before she exited her mortal body, and the power that allowed her to be in control of the Netherworld. And the second, and quite possibly even more powerful, ability is to inflict death (or rather the concept of it) to ''[[AnyoneCanDie anyone]]'' and even sending them to Hakugyokurou rather than their intended afterlife (in which case her first ability comes into play again), but it doesn't work on immortals ([[Pantheon/FormsOfImmortality Fujiwara no Mokou]] once coerced Yuyuko into using it on her, and that didn't work) and other such specific cases. This power to guarantee anyone's death, even those in the Pantheon where DeathIsCheap, [[DrivenToSuicide is what led to her suicide at the base of the Saigyou Ayakashi]].
*** Death bringers such as the Old Man of the Mountain & Ainz Ooal Gown have expressed respect towards Yuyuko for being being responsible with her power to inflict death upon others. While they need to put in some extra effort (Old Man) or suffer drawbacks (Ainz) when using their death-invoking powers, Yuyuko has neither issue and can simply just wish someone into a grave without much drawback. The ghost princess, however, doesn't hold either deity in high regard despite her also respecting them for not exerting similar powers. For the Old Man, it's that he emanates maliciousness despite being more benign than he looks. The same can apply to Ainz Ooal Gown as well, but for him specifically, it's that he's just [[TheSmartGuy as good of an intellectual as she is]]. She does at least tolerate the Shikis in the Hall of Murder & Assassination more, as while they have an extreme form of death-invoking, they're much more kind and would rather exercise it on less-than-good deities.
** [[WordOfGod Word of]] [[Pantheon/GamingGenresNToZ ZUN]] says that Yuyuko is a rather loud-and-proud Sega Dreamcast fangirl. After being deified, she didn't pay much heed to its predecessor, the Sega Saturn, until notable Saturn enthusiast [[Pantheon/{{Advertising}} Segata Sanshiro]] challenged her to an honest battle of danmaku and judo. After losing this battle (she held her own at danmaku, it was the judo part that threw her off), Yuyuko became a lot more appreciative of what the Saturn has to offer, and simply settled on being fond of ''both'' consoles. [[https://www.pixiv.net/artworks/56544180 And yes, she did eventually get Youmu to try it out, as well.]]
** Hsien-ko warmed up to Yuyuko rather quickly, though this carried its own set of baggage. For one, while having tea with Yuyuko one day, she learned of anther jiang-shi in Gensokyo known as Yoshika Miyako, and wanted to meet her; at first, this sounded innocent, but that faded as their meeting would be upturned when Yoshika attacked like usual, with Seiga Kaku hoping to usurp Hsien-ko's poisition for Yoshika. As jiang-shi were [[OurVampiresAreDifferent vampires]] or [[OurZombiesAreDifferent zombies of some sort]], when they were seen together one time by Yuuki Terumi, he more than definitely expressed disdain of yet another "shitty vampire, just Chinese", a remark that nearly got Yuyuko to use her death-invoking abilities on him, which forced him to back off. Despite this, both Yuyuko and Hsien-ko are relatively calm & elegant girls [[SilkHidingSteel who definitely can fight if they need to]], possessing powerful arsenals and strong mindsets, and thus are still friends.
** Except by name, Yuyuko definitely is an exemplary representative of {{Cherry Blossom Girl}}s, and there's quite a bit to back that up. She has pink hair and is quite the sweetie, is associated with cherry blossoms, having a pink (and blue) color motif, is associated with death, is hypothesized as a LoveInterest of Yukari's, and being a YamatoNadeshiko. Such comparisons has gotten the attention of the trope's current holder, Sakura Haruno, who noted how they are rather opposite of each other despite filling the trope nicely. Sakura is named, well, Sakura, a living person who practices medicine and is associated with ninjas, whereas Yuyuko is not named Sakura, is dead, and has powers that work with the dead & the afterlife, and is a cunning lady with the facade of cuteness & clumsiness. Despite these differences, the two got along very well, and Sakura is one of Hakugyokurou's most frequent guests.
** The House of Pantheon/{{Food}} usually has three problems to deal with- and no, I don't mean problems like with fights breaking out and such. Those three problems are instead [[Pantheon/{{Consumption}} Pac-Man]], Kirby, and Yuyuko, and by extension, the House's storage pantries needing to restock after one or more of them go through the House. And woe be upon the House if ''all three'' get together for a run-and-chew through, a gathering that has happened at least once every few weeks much to this House's dismay. To add salt to the wound, just recently, when Kirby was banned from the recently ascended locale of [[Pantheon/FictionalSettings Mount Volbono]] as a precaution among other deities, they didn't account for Yuyuko, which became a rather terrifying prospect despite her not actually visiting it yet.
*** Was indirectly the reason why another of the Sages of Gensokyo, Kasen Ibaraki, got banned from the House of Food for half a week. The hermit once was at that House to get some food and talk to some of Reimu’s other friends, when she caught whiff of Ragna’s cooking. After a bit of chat about [[spoiler: living with cursed arms that can make them evil if unleashed/unsealed and]] and how good Ragna’s cooking is (which, of course, he didn’t [[LargeHam ham]] about), she took him to meet with her correspondents- Yuyuko and Youmu, who were there as a change of pace from eating at Hakugyokurou a lot of the time. [[WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes Naturally, Ragna freaked out about seeing ghosts, which in turn caused Youmu to freak out about ghosts as well]], and now both have their weapons drawn, shrink-eyed and scared. However, Ragna in particular laid eyes at a table where [[Pantheon/HolyAuthorityAndPower Byakuren Hijiri]] and her disciples sat- including [[Pantheon/{{Shapeshifters}} Nue Houjuu]]; his fear becoming rage, he took off and went to assault the alien for that nasty scare she inflicted upon him a while back, which devolved into a brief but full blown battle across the House. [[{{Scapegoat}} And then everyone but Ragna & Nue (who blamed each other) pinned the situation on Kasen, the only noncombatant in that whole ordeal]]; thankfully, Eiki and co. knew what actually happened, and only gave a light sentencing to the hermit in the form of a three-day ban.
* Applies To Youmu:
** Her ghost-half tends to provoke [[WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes phasmophobia]] on others who suffer it. She doesn't intend it in any way, but whenever she gets near those with the ailment, they tend to get a [[GhostlyChill a chill down their spine]], and [[IronicFear she isn't quite immune to it herself]]. One time, [[Pantheon/HairColor Yayoi Kise]], upon meeting her, started telling a ghost story (hint: imaginary) she once heard. Youmu was out faster than Yayoi can remember her friend Nao going.
** Small parts of fanon give her a bit of a strange affinity to Sakuya Izayoi, another fellow [[MysticalWhiteHair white-haired girl]] (Youmu's is arguably more paler however) and stage 5 servant boss who also is a master of bladed-weaponry. Very few but strong parallels & connections have been drawn between the two, such as Sakuya's coolheadedness & elegance contrasting Youmu's outspoken affection towards Yuyuko. Another is that their masters may look one way on the surface, but they're just as clever and calculative as the rest of Gensokyo's elite if need be. Another suggestion is that both of them are made to be notable ''Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure'' references; in Youmu's case, many people parallel her with [[Pantheon/EmotionalCombat Jean Pierre Polnareff]] in terms of being white-haired and a knack for swift swordsmanship, in contrast to Sakuya being an analog for [[Pantheon/TimeManipulation Dio Brando]] as they both knives, stop time, and are related to vampires.
*** Also tends to be someone annoyed in that people have some rather devious pairings of her and [[Pantheon/FantasticRaces Reisen Udongein Inaba]] in some rather....notable relationships. Youmu states outright she does not roll that way, so it seems, as their only commonality is, like Sakuya & Youmu, Reisen is a stage 5 boss who happens to serve a higher power (that being Eirin & Kaguya). Reisen reciprocates these feelings, stating that they are a bit too insane, even for her.
** Speaking of half-ghosts, Youmu has been keeping touch with fellow semi-phantom Daniel Fenton, aka. Danny Phantom. Though Danny's case had been more-or-less a scientific accident and his approach to being a half-ghost is different compared to Youmu's the duo have been able to hit it off fairly well. Sometimes, though, his Ghost Sense triggers at completely random intervals when the gardener's with him, which in turn causes Youmu to flinch just as randomly, an issue they've decided to just work with as part of their friendship. As per usual, this would make her enemies with both Vlad Masters & Dark Danny as well, and in the latter's case, she would begrudgingly have to [[EnemyMine team up with Vlad]] to take down Dark Danny, who's seen as the greater of two evils; her master Yuyuko is also rather disapproving of Dark Danny in particular and won't hesitate to exert masses of danmaku at him.
** Is baffled when people say that [[Creator/AoiYuuki she sounds like]] [[Pantheon/MagicAndSorcery Madoka]], [[Anime/MusouKakyouASummerDaysDream having no idea where they get that from]]. But it seems to also tie into sounding like another skilled swordswoman by the name of [[Literature/SwordArtOnline Yuuki Konno]]. Funny enough, she also became friends with another ghost by the name of [[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure Reimi Sugimoto]] as a result of this similarity, and in [[VideoGame/KoumajouDensetsu one other instance]], Reimi (along with another individual by the name of [[Pantheon/NonVehicularTravel Miles "Tails" Prower]]) has had the [[Creator/RyoHirohashi same voice]] as Youmu as well. From there, there are small inside gags amongst some gods in that while Youmu seems to be Tails' parallel, people may be wondering if Sakuya's her Sonic…?
** [[https://twitter.com/naufaldreamer/status/1619288891881816068?s=20 Got together with Vergil, Raiden, & 2B for an epic photoshoot together]], courtesy of [[Pantheon/SourcesOfInformation Aya]] [[Pantheon/InvestigativeWork Shameimaru]]. According to the four, it was a flash-in-the-pan idea that came up to Aya's mind to take a photo of some of the most badass [[MysticalWhiteHair whitehaired]] [[MasterSwordsman swordsmen]] in the Pantheon. However, it was clear that she had missed quite a few- notably Polnareff, Sephiroth, and Ragna, who all cursed her out for not including them in. While Polnareff is neutral to the four, and we already talked about Ragna earlier, Sephiroth and Vergil were more than interested in learning of Youmu's technique and weaponry. They each invited her to spar against each of them, one-on-one, and while she was able to match up to them in terms of swordsmanship, she fell short when they each tapped into other powers; those defeats led her to start training more rigorously with fellow swordfighters with auxiliary tactics and/or skills, like 2B.
*** Boasts that things her signature sword Roukanken, forged by the youkai, cannot cut are close to none ("close to none" being [[VideoGame/TouhouSoccer soccer balls]] and [[http://safebooru.org/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=633589 bad jokes]]). This did draw the attention of Kisuke, who mistook the "forged by the youkai" part meaning that it is a Demon Blade, and has tried to destroy the blade. However, Youmu seems to be oblivious of Kisuke's intentions and thinks he simply wants to fight her. This also got the attention of the Champions of Runeterra, who Youmu wishes would just stop stealing the sword for themselves. One time, she tried to trick one of them, [[Pantheon/{{Abilities}} Yasuo]], into taking her other sword Hakurouken, but quickly stopped herself when she realised that he might accidentally purify a ghost with it. At the very least, she hoped that they'd stop calling her "[[InconsistentSpelling Youmuu]]" (especially via incorrect romaji).
*** Is supposed to be Yuyuko's gardener, but behaves more as her bodyguard/servant. In fact, she was supposed to be Yuyuko's ''swordsmanship tutor'' to fill in for her missing father, but the ghost harbored no interest. Ironically, Youmu has since drawn a few other sword-users and those aspiring to learn, as she looked for teachers to learn from as well. Negi Springfield, who graduated as a young boy from his Magic Academy in Wales only to become a teacher in an all-girls class in Japan, also feels the same way as Youmu as being an EnthusiasticNewbieTeacher in the Pantheon, and helps her with her training as both an instructor and a fighter, as well.
* They can also be found in the Hall of Pantheon/JapaneseSpirits.

* C was a musician living with his wife M in a suburban house. They planned on moving to an apartment in the city, but C was reluctant to leave the house behind. One morning, C got into a fatal car crash. His corpse lay in the morgue, covered by a white sheet, when suddenly he rose and started wandering around; C had become a ghost. Instead of moving on to the other side, he went back home where the grieving M was and there he stayed. Time passed, M moved elsewhere, successive strangers moved in, and still C haunted the house. The house eventually was abandoned and demolished, and sometime into the far future there was a sprawling city in its place. C then went back in time to when pioneers first settled in the place, experiencing its entire history, including viewing his own life with M from a third-person perspective. After watching M leave again, C succeeded in retrieving a note she had hidden in a wall, and upon reading it, moved on to the afterlife.
* The afterlife, in his case, being the Pantheon. Next thing C knew, he was in a nondescript temple-like room and looking all around him. While he pondered his surroundings, Casper the FriendlyGhost dropped in out of curiosity at the new member of his brethren. The fact that C isn't the most talkative or cheeriest ghost didn't bother Casper, who decided he would do the hospitable thing and show C around the Pantheon. With his attachment issues settled (and as he had no reason to be attached to the temple yet), C didn't resist leaving the place and exploring the world outside. To his amazement, all beings he ran into were able to perceive him and Casper and most were unfazed by the sight. Once Casper was done explaining the basics of the Pantheon to C, he decided they'd go to the Main House so they'd figure out a title for the new ghost, who quietly went along with it. The Main House liked C's story and gave him a title, which didn't cause much of a reaction in C but cheered Casper, who was happy at the addition of a not-wholly-unfriendly ghost.
* While the sweet-natured Casper regularly visits C's temple to talk his ears off, which C doesn't seem to mind judging from how he doesn't launch into a poltergeist-y rage, the truth is the rest of his fellow ghosts, while not necessarily disliking him, just find C sort of boring; the more morally-upright ghosts think he's too quiet and contemplative, while the meaner ones think it's a waste how he rarely actively haunts people. The times he's known to have done it were motivated by anger or grief, and it was never his intention to actually harm anyone. On the other hand, he's in the Pantheon now, and eternity is a very long time to do nothing entertaining, so consequently C has gained an interest in prank-scaring people thanks to the influence of Peeves and Rotom; this disappoints Casper a little, since he thinks it's mean to prank people, but then C's pranks are a lot less mean and dangerous than the sort Peeves engages in.
* Danny Phantom, though generally sympathetic to C, has warned him not to go overboard with his pranks or else he'll be forced to stop him; C seems to take the warning to heart, as he's not interested in picking fights. This doesn't necessarily stop the fights from coming to C, though, which happened once with Danny's parents, Jack and Maddie, who are fairly fanatic about ghost-hunting and targeted C after hearing about the trouble he caused for people back in his universe. However, Danny stood between the two parties and vouched for C, so Jack and Maddie, who can be reasonable despite their prejudice towards ghosts, decided to cut him some slack and that their son would take responsibility if C ever goes berserk somehow. After hearing of the incident, the Ghostbusters similarly decided to leave C in peace, though they keep him under watch all the same just in case; C has precedents, after all. C just counts himself lucky that he's seen as a low-level threat by those groups.
* Far less nice and far more dogmatic than Jack, Maddie or the Ghostbusters is the Batter, who paid a not-so-friendly welcome visit to C with the intent of [[DeadlyEuphemism purifying]] him, which he believes should be the fate of all ghosts. This was probably the point at which C realized the Pantheon held some very real dangers and wasn't as heavenly as one might suppose the afterlife to be. C thought he was doomed when his powers weren't enough to deter the Batter, but fortunately he was rescued by Erma Williams. After the cute yet powerful StringyHairedGhostGirl sent the Batter packing, she quickly turned to befriending C, being about as interested in him as Casper was and fascinated by his bedsheet aesthetic. Erma thus has become one of C's most frequent guests along with Casper; C thinks hearing their cheerful chatter directed at him is pretty nice after having spent hundreds of years unable to talk to anyone.
* C quickly learned that though Erma may be a very nice StringyHairedGhostGirl, it's wise to stay away from her {{evil counterpart}}s Sadako and Kayako, who are an incredibly malicious and dangerous pair of ghosts, despite coming from pitiful circumstances. In fact, it's those pitiful circumstances and the resulting rage and resentment that prevent them from moving on with their lives (or rather undeaths). Casper and Erma have warned C there's a good chance those two could go after him out of jealousy that he was able to make peace with his life and move on eventually. Still, C is left wondering whether he would have sunk that low had he held on to his regrets so much that he refused to ever move on; also, given he spent a lot of his undeath contemplating whether life (or rather existence) had any meaning or not, he feels like there was a good chance he might have become murderous if he had arrived at a different conclusion than what he did.
* Erma and Casper's company is very nice, but C is also glad that there are other ghosts closer to his age and with a more mature and grounded mindset, such as Malcolm Crowe. The two first met when the young seer Cole came over to play with Erma and Casper, and C easily bonded with the psychologist over the both of them being ghosts who had something holding them back from moving on, although C was surprised that it took Malcolm so long to even realize that he was dead, as C knew what had happened to himself from the start. C also feels bad for Cole having been often tormented by his visions of ghosts, which could be quite terrifying until Cole learned to deal with them.
* C was a musician when he was alive, so music is one of the few things that he shows noticeable interest in. At first he just liked to hang around the House of Pantheon/{{Musicality}}, then someone there decided to actually give him a job after hearing his work, telling him his status as a ghost need not hold him back. This encouragement has led C to delve back into making music. To a lot of people it just looks funny to see a white sheet silently and slowly working a mixing table, but C is quite good at his job despite his present appearance. This garnered him an admirer in Napstablook, another BedsheetGhost with an interest in music and who has produced his own work as well. Napstablook got his fellow ghost to listen to his tunes and give him his opinion. For the most part, C liked them, finding them avant-garde, though he also thinks that's exactly what's holding Napstablook's music back from getting any other reaction other than fear. Even so, he advertises Napstablook's work through his channels.
* It was a funny coincidence to C that not only are there other types of undead in the Pantheon, but some of them also have a strong inclination towards music; such is the case with the undead skeletons Brook and Hector. C doesn't see much of Brook, since he's usually traveling the high seas with the Straw Hat Pirates, but you can be sure the spirited violinist gives C his blessing. C is much closer to Hector and admires his musical craftsmanship, particularly his sense for lyrics, and laments he went unacknowledged for so long and that his identity as the true author behind those songs almost became a secret lost to time. C has also become well-acquainted with the Dia de los Muertos traditions which allow Hector to exist beyond death. C wonders if those rules apply to him, which would mean the reason he kept on existing for hundreds of years is most likely thanks to his music, since he left no children behind; with that thought, he finds himself hoping M remembered him as long as she lived.
* C's musical work caught the interest of Morty, who besides being a ghost, has his own artistic ambitions as a movie director. In the name of camaraderie between ghosts, he hired C to score his next work, pitching it as giving C's work more exposure through his movie productions, while C's own fandom might be drawn to Morty's movie if it were to be scored by C; all-in-all, it seems to Morty like they both stand to benefit from it, and C had to agree, besides the fact that he'd also be interested in seeing a movie from a ghostly director. C also became well-acquainted with Morty's ally Luigi, with Morty assuring the cowardly sometimes-ghost hunter that C was one of the good ones. Luigi was happy to leave it at that and trusts C.
* Lydia Deetz is a goth girl who is fascinated by ghosts and thus was eager to meet C, especially after learning he's a BedsheetGhost, which is the guise used by the Maitlands, who are ghosts and akin to a second set of parents to Lydia. BedsheetGhost is not the default appearance of the Maitlands though, just something they resort to when they want someone who can't normally see ghosts to see them. Either way, Lydia thinks it's very interesting to see the differences in how ghosts work from universe to universe and quizzed C on how things work in his world and what his experience was like; C told her he couldn't say his experience was reflective of all the ghosts in his world, especially as he only ever saw one other and they didn't exactly interact a lot. Lydia also once brought C to her temple to meet the Maitlands, which made C feel melancholic as the sight of the happy couple made him quietly wish M shared his fate, though he realizes that's an extremely selfish wish.

* Peeves the Poltergeist is an apparition that is bound and emerged at the beginning of Hogwarts, born from collective adolescent stress and student mischief. Classified as a poltergeist, he's the trickster of the school and likes to cause pranks and general mischief. Argus Filch despises him and has tried to get Peeves from the school, but it never works.
* [[AdaptedOut Didn't show up in the movies]], and was mad about being left out. Thus Peeves demanded he be given some attention in the massive fan crossover that is the Trope Pantheon, where he tends to cause mischief in the House of Pantheon/{{School}}. He picked a video game adaptation for his avatar [[AdaptationalAttractiveness because he looks far more dashing in that form]].
* Important to remember; he's a ''poltergeist'', not a ghost. Ghosts [[WasOnceAMan were humans once]], while he is amortal; never a living being, and will never die( though if Hogwarts is destroyed it might destroy him). He's just considered one for convenience. He's annoyed that Jack Fenton and the Ghostbusters go after him, though Peeves has been informed that outside of the world of ''Literature/HarryPotter'', [[OurGhostsAreDifferent ghosts have a lot of parameters]] so he stays in the house.
* Peeves' ascension was met with dread by Carol Anne Freeling because she was a victim of a poltergeist haunting and kidnapping her. However Peeves isn't malicious, merely a prankster and doesn't wish to harm her. She still would rather stay away from him anyway.
* While Mr Crocker is obsessed with FAIRIES!, he flat out ''hates'' Peeves the Poltergeist. So does the Trunchbull. Though to be fair to Peeves, [[SadistTeacher they often bring it on themselves]]. Professional teachers are merely annoyed and frustrated by Peeves. Seymour Skinner refuses to let himself be in a point of weakness to Peeves, which entertains him as a possible challenge. Interestingly Peeves is on good terms Dumbledore despite the mischief he causes.
* Sure Peeves isn't a real ghost, at least by the standards of his universe, but that doesn't stop him hanging out with Gengar, Rotom and the Flying Dutchman. This comes down to their mischievous nature. Because Hogwarts isn't too technologically advanced Rotom serves as a learning experience in how to mess around with technology. Also while he's not into the scaring field, he likes what the Dutchman can pull and how fear can be used to troll people.
* A pain in the ass to the GUAL. As a chaotic prankster spirit, Peeves considers them an anathema and YHVH the biggest killjoy in the multiverse. Most agree with him on the "[[NoSenseOfHumor YHVH is a killjoy]]" assessment. When not causing mischief in the House of School, he causes mischief in the GUAL to their eternal frustration; DeathIsCheap or no, you can't kill something that was never alive.
* The GUAC has welcomed Peeves into their ranks. Peeves isn't interested in their loftier ambitions, but does appreciate the chaos they represent and the venue of mischief. Mainly it's his continual annoyance and heckling of the GUAL that has him serve as their ally.
* A chaotic spirit, Peeves has a kinship with Discord due to being a more powerful spirit of chaos. And then there's [[RealityWarper Mr Mxyzptlk]], who Peeves is in awe for his chaotic games with [[Pantheon/{{Heroism}} the Man of Steel]]. He requested to be given a small percentage of Mxy's unbridled power to pull off pranks on a universal scale, however Mxy turned it down as he refuses even a tiny chance of repeating [[ComicBook/EmperorJoker what happened last time]]
* [[Pantheon/{{Storytelling}} Sissel, Missile and (formerly) Yomiel]] may be called ghosts, but their "ghost tricks" fit the poltergeist label quite well. Instead of mischief, Sissel and Missile mainly use their powers to manipulate the environment in a way to save people's lives and avert death. Yomiel, however, used his to ruin people's lives and even commit murder as apart of a complex revenge scheme but [[TheAtoner eventually moved past this]] and uses his powers for good by the end of it. As such, Peeves brings little to the table, which he finds unfortunate because he hoped they could find common enough ground personality-wise to become his new friends.
* Peeves was rather impressed by the trickery Bugs Bunny was able to pull off, and has joined him to have some fun. Cue a lot of pity going towards Elmer Fudd for this, and Yosemite Sam yelling that his bullets do diddly squat to Peeves. He likes T.J as well, what with being the prince of pranks. Still, despite being a prankster and jerk, Peeves stands for Hogwarts and fought alongside them against Voldemort and the Death Eaters. He also finds Yuuki Terumi and his trolling to be incredibly despicable and going way too far.

* Sometimes found in the House of Pantheon/AfterlifeEntities as well, given she ascended to Heaven in the Jojo-verse. 413* Aside from Freddy Krueger, she also opposes Jack the Ripper due to being [[TropeCodifier the OG]] SerialKiller, She also opposes Lord English because [[DeaderThanDead he can kill ghosts]]. She seems to understand where Freddy Fazbear is coming from, as they're both ghosts that stick around to oppose the SerialKiller that offed them, however she disagrees with a lot of his [[WellIntentionedExtremist more extreme measures]]. [[spoiler:She opposes Springtrap, however it's unclear whether she should since [[AmbiguousSituation he may be the zombie of the killer's son instead]]. ]]
* When not trying to bring Kira or likeminded serial killers to justice, Reimi Sugimoto serves as a babysitter to child deities in the pantheon. Timmy Turner was a bit on edge when they first met, and she wondered why this was. She learned of his incredibly abusive babysitter Vicky, and was horrified that someone like her got a job watching children. She plans to deal with her if she ever ascends to the pantheon.
* Gets along with Aerith, in part because of their deaths and in part they have a close friend of Rohan and [[Pantheon/{{Weapons}} Cloud]] voiced by [[Creator/TakahiroSakurai the same VA]]. Both oppose Sephiroth, and it doesn't help him and Kira have the same VA. She also gets along with the Jedi ghosts, as they give her good advice to each other's villains.

* Rotom the Plasma Pokémon is a muchly disliked deity by many other deities who rely on technology as Rotom has the ability to take control of any technology. While Rotom never uses this ability for evil, most are annoyed by the fact that Rotom will instead use this ability for playing pranks and having fun. Rotom is a living plasma that can become stronger and change its typing depending on what appliance it possesses, however the Pokémon has found practical usage in being part of the [=Rotomdex=] or [=Rotomphone=].
* When Rotom ascended, they went on a pranking epidemic by possessing different appliances and gaining different forms. This quickly gave the Ghost type a bad reputation, and one of the few deities that actually gets along well with Rotom is Nero Yuzurizaki as [[{{Technopath}} her Toys allows her to control machinery with a stick.]] Nero also frequently irritates other deities because while she mostly uses her Toys to catch criminals, she also uses her Toys for pranking others as well.
** Rotom took over ovens in the House of Pantheon/{{Food}} to achieve their Heat Rotom form, and then mess with the refrigerators by taking them over and becoming Frost Rotom. The recent string of curses coming from Gordon Ramsey were blamed on the poltergeist meddling with these devices, and this led to a temporary ban until the Pokémon learned their lesson. Fortunately just because Rotom could take over the refrigerator didn't mean they got a drop of the alcohol and cause drunk mischief. What, if anything, the Pokémon eats hasn't been discerned.
** After that, it went to the House of Pantheon/{{Costumes}} in order to take over clothes-washers and mess with the clothes there. Those who wore tight outfits like [[Pantheon/ColoredOutfits Black Shadow]] were majorly pissed at their clothes shrinking in the wash and having to buy a new one. It's advised that any living clothing like Ryuko should never come in contact with Wash Rotom in fear of some sort of corruption. It's also advised not to clean [[WhiteShirtOfDeath bloodied]] [[BringMyRedJacket clothes]] as Rotom is still traumatized over Ladd Russo putting his shirts in it.
** There were later complaints that Rotom had stolen the fans from visitors to the Hall of Pantheon/FireAndHeat to take them over and become Fan Rotom, but left out of anger by them mocking how now that they were part-Flying, Levitate was a completely pointless ability. Finally Rotom ended their rampage by possessing a lawnmower in the House of Pantheon/{{Plants}} and cutting hedges, making their name in the tall grass found in the premises. By the time the residents came to complain Rotom had gotten bored with their games and returned to the Hall of Ghosts. They've returned to the House of Pantheon/{{Nature}} to test their different forms, and sometimes engage in a rivalry with Sparky in their ability to possess technology and electrical prowess.
* Rotom's temple is filled to the brim with many microwaves, refrigerators, fans, lawn mowers and washing machines as while Rotom can screw with other technology for fun, Rotom can use these appliances for combat and gets a new typing and attack depending on what Rotom possesses. Due to [[VideoGame/PokeParkWii one of his past incarnations]], Rotom is a surprisingly big fan of shooting galleries. Ever since many [=TVs=] have been invaded by Rotom whenever it wants to sleep, The Investigation Team have been very wary of Rotom in the event that they decides to use this ability for other purposes. They've stated they're more interested in the Pantheon/TypesOfMechas Hall than what the Investigation Team are doing as they want to possess badass mecha.
* Rotom really doesn't like to be around the Hall of Pantheon/CheatsAndGlitches since they tried to take over a glitchy appliance only to get sick and vomit electricity. They might be capable of taking over certain cybernetics under the right circumstances, but have declared this to be SickAndWrong. They were initially repulsed by Danny Fenton's overshadowing ability, but eventually got over it as it wasn't as dark as they thought and Danny is a good guy. Rotom is interested in occasionally playing the hero with him, but wants to stay clear of his parents due to their more overzealous nature. Jack Fenton's proven a lot more defensive when it comes to handling the Plasma Pokémon than usual since he fears the ghost will try to possess the Fenton Thermos or other ghost-hunting technology.
* The SCP Foundation were interested in studying Rotom and whether they'd be able to study some mechanical [=SCPs=], having made an "[=SCPDex=]" modeled after the [=RotomDex=]. While they didn't test it in potentially deadly combinations like SCP-633 for obvious reasons, and despite clear interest on both Rotom and SCP-079's the latter wasn't used out of fear the Old A.I might get out of control, Rotom was used on me in all my toasty goodness to overcome my effect. It kind of worked, but people referred to him in the first person rather than me unlike he vacated my body. Rotom seems to have really hated possessing me and whenever he talks about me [[SelfDeprecation I say that I'm an idiot box]].
* Rotom was later allowed to possess [[Pantheon/SpaceManipulation SCP-105's]] camera. The anomalous effect remained unchanged, however any attempt to go through the picture resulted [[ShockAndAwe in minor electrocution]]. Further tests were cancelled. Another test was done on [[Pantheon/ChefsAndEstablishments SCP-261]], which still had its anomalous traits but with Rotom in control and the vending machine a lot more likely to dispense food from the Hokkaido region. One treat had the QR code [[MythologyGag for an alternate universe]] ''VideoGame/{{Pulseman}}'' game. [[Pantheon/{{Commerce}} Seto Kaiba]] later tested Rotom on a Duel Disk, however stopped testing when it became clear only cards of the Thunder Monster type would show holograms for some reason.
* Any testing involving a ComputerVirus, no matter, how harmless it may be, was also cancelled out of fear it might pass on to Rotom. The Plasma Pokémon is mortally terrified of gods like Sigma since they want to turn them into a vector of their viral A.I will, maybe even expanding control to organic life forms. They also tend to avoid The Ghostbusters like the plague [[http://img2.smackjeeves.com/images/uploaded/comics/b/b/bbcbe8b8bQe9Y.png ever since the time when they came to Rotom's chateau and attacked him.]] The time they spent with the SCP Foundation have given them a mortal terror of [[Pantheon/SourcesOfInformation an information-stealing SCP]] and any attempt to look up information on it, even only picture-related, on the [=RotomPhone=] will get you [[StealthPun a rooster doing a flip]].
* As mentioned, Rotom has become more responsible thanks to the [=RotomDex=] and [=RotomPhone=], though they still have a bit of an ego on them. Wikipe-tan and Trope-tan have encouraged them to help out and were pleasantly surprised Rotom was capable of controlling a laptop and letting people access the site. [[WikiVandal That said, they sometimes change articles in their favor]]. Some of the spookier and out there entries in the [=RotomDex=] led people to accuse Rotom of embellishment, which they denied. Those in the Hall of Pantheon/LearningTools want to expand Rotom's ability to update with computers for important stuff [[EveryoneHasStandards since Rotom tends to behave when things really require it]].
* Rotom is good friends with other ghostly deities including fellow ghost type Pokémon Sableye and Spiritomb due to their mischievous personality, as well as Sayo Aisaka and Yuyuko Saigyouji. Despite being seen as the BlackSheep of the Pokémon world, they like Porygon and their family given their connection to technology and adaptability. They aren't all that liked in the House of Machinery and Technology and for both their security and everyone else's Rotom is under strict surveillance, but there are deities there who tolerate them; Alan Turing likes to test Rotom's ability to possess technology, and the Tamagotchi are generally friendly with them. Sometimes Rotom joins the KND to prank bad adults.
* Even though Rotom usually uses its abilities for fun, Rotom will often use its abilities to screw with the {{Mad Scientist}}s of the pantheon as a human he once knew a human that went crazy after using their knowledge for evil. Dr Wily wishes to turn them into a method of hijacking Mega Man, however the Pokémon has stated they aren't strong enough to control any A.I with a Lesser Deity or beyond rank. [[NiceJobFixingItVillain Wily did give them the idea of bonding and empowering Mega Man]] due to wanting to play hero. When bonded with [[SymbioticPossession Rotom]] Mega Man is able to use Rotom's moveset and even charge it with the Mega Buster unlike your standard Robot Master attack. However he can't use his normal attacks or access other Robot Master powers so long as he's bonded to Rotom. The two become Electric/Steel in this form.
* Bender [[Recap/FuturamaS6E19GhostInTheMachines once had an experience as a technology-possessing]] VirtualGhost, where the Robot Devil tried to get him to kill Fry. However he couldn't go through with it [[YouAreWorthHell and decided to stay in Robot Hell]], [[RedemptionEarnsLife eventually leading to his resurrection]]. He'd rather not go through that a second time, but he is amused by Rotom's capacity for mischief due to their domain over HauntedTechnology and [[ToxicFriendInfluence has encouraged them to try and use their powers for theft]]. While Rotom would prefer to not be as bad as Bender they admit [[LaughablyEvil Bender's very fun]] [[HeroicComedicSociopath to be around]]. Fry remains skeptical about Rotom because of the whole affair with Bender haunting him, though, and hopes Rotom doesn't accidentally cause Bender to get high on electricity again.
* For those wondering about said human, it was initially believed the human was Team Galactic Commander Charon, [[MoralityPet who had a soft spot for the creature]] due to having met it in the Old Chateau as a child. [[VideoGame/PokemonUltraSunAndUltraMoon Recent evidence]] suggests [[spoiler:that Charon was merely copying down notes that ''[[Pantheon/{{Goals}} Cyrus]]'' made, [[PetTheDog who has a soft spot]] and wonders if things might've been different had he still had them as a companion.]] Of course, since Rotom isn't [[SingleSpecimenSpecies unique]] this probably isn't the same specimen. They are rare, which is why the ghostly plasma is up there on Hunter J's list. They aren't fond of members of Team Rainbow Rocket either.
* [[Pantheon/HardwareAndSoftware The Angry Video Game Nerd]] wants Rotom to improve the quality of the godawful cartridges and video games he's had to review, to which Rotom swiftly replied "NO". And they have no interest in playing with him, even if it's just to riff on the shitty games. They've stated not to be interested in Afoire's or other hackers' request to use their power for crime, as while the Plasma Pokémon is mischievous they aren't interested in outright crime[[note]]if only to not piss more people off[[/note]]. However Rotom ''is'' interested in the Wisps because their ability to modify and alter hosts like [[Pantheon/{{Gaming}} Sonic]] is kind of like how they bond with appliances, just in the other way around. Rotom would love to know if it's at all possible for them to temporarily [[FusionDance combine their powers together]].
* Gods from the world of ''Franchise/TheMatrix'' tread on eggshells around Rotom due to their ability to infiltrate technology. While unable to duplicate itself and not strong enough to take over the Matrix, the Plasma Pokémon could still [[GrandTheftMe hijack the body of anyone plugged in]] or cause other problems in their machine-run dystopia. They've sworn never to do so as they only want to cause pranks and harmless mischief, [[EveryoneHasStandards not cause outright harm]], but this doesn't stop them from being a PersonaNonGrata to the 'verse they come from. Rotom has also stated they while they like to cause a good scare, Spooky's just mean.
* Like most ghosts, Rotom thinks Dark Danny is [[AxCrazy batshit insane]]. They're also chilled to the bone by the wicked machinations of [[SerialKiller William Afton]] and his crimes while using HauntedTechnology [[ArtificialZombie as both Springtrap]] and [[BrainUploading Glitchtrap]]. The SerialKiller is most intrigued by the Pokémon and speculates they may be the spirit of a child like the animatronics, just without the trauma of a bloody end. Naturally, he wants to obtain Rotom's power and incorporate it into his latest model of killer robots. Despite distrusting them for their own murderous actions the Ghost type chose to side with Freddy Fazbear and friends to put an end to their nemesis' JokerImmunity. The Cassette Man was fascinated in seeing a case of HauntedTechnology that wasn't tragic, and along with both Michael Afton and Mike Schmidt they've formed a close bond.
