Zedd (born Anton Igorevich Zaslavski, Антон Игоревич Заславский on September 2, 1989) is an ElectronicMusic producer and DJ.

Initially a classically trained pianist (and then later a drummer in the HeavyMetal band Dioramic), he became interested in {{electronic music}} as a teenager after hearing Music/{{Justice|Band}}'s debut album ''Cross''. He got his start in the electronic scene when he won two different Beatport remix contests; his first original release, "The Anthem", broke into the Beatport Electro house Top 20. His remix of Music/{{Skrillex}}'s "Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites" broke into the Beatport Electro House Top 10 charts, coming to rest at number 2.

Zedd's career has included not only his own original material, but numerous remixes and collaborations, as well as producing music for other artists including Skrillex, Music/LadyGaga, and Music/JustinBieber. His music is primarily ElectroHouse with touches of {{Dubstep}}.

Not to be confused with the ''Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers'' villain.

!! If our tropes' insanity, why are you my clarity?
* AllLoveIsUnrequited: A possible interpretation of "Find You".
* AsHimself: Has a recurring guest role on ''Series/TheMuppetsMayhem'' as himself.
* AudienceParticipationSong: During live shows (as of January 2016), this includes but is not limited to: "Done With Love", "Beautiful Now", "Clarity", "Rude (Zedd Remix)", "Stay The Night", "Find You", "Spectrum", and "I Want You To Know".
* ChildProdigy:
** He has been playing piano [[http://www.edmtunes.com/2014/02/9-year-old-zedd-rocking-brother-father-video/ since the age of nine]].
** He was touring regularly with his old metal band Dioramic when he was just a teenager.
* CreatorThumbprint: He frequently uses the sounds of ticking clocks in tracks that he produced, such as Music/AlessiaCara's "Stay", Music/MarenMorris' "The Middle", Music/ShawnMendes' "Lost in Japan" and Music/KatyPerry's "Never Really Over" and "365".
* FadingIntoTheNextSong: On "Clarity", Hourglass flawlessly transitions into Shave It Up.
** ''True Colors'' takes the cake on this trope. Done With Love goes straight into the album title track very easily, Papercut fades into Bumble Bee with no trouble at all, and Daisy and Illusion are practically two sides to one long track.
* GenreRoulette: For the most part he produces ElectroHouse with touches of dubstep, but has incorporated classical music, pop and progressive house into his music. This is especially noticeable in his second studio album ''True Colors''.
* ICantBelieveItsNotHeroin: "Clarity" is a song about a couple whose love ends in tragedy, right? However, one theory about the song, based on [[https://archive.fo/v96kJ#selection-1043.1-1043.90 clues from the lyrics]] [[https://archive.fo/i2H3H#selection-2223.0-2223.55 and music video]], suggests it's actually about dealing with addiction to crystal methamphetamine.
* RockMeAmadeus: Did a remix of "In the Hall of the Mountain King" called ''Dovregubben''.
* {{Sampling}}: The lyrics "Bumble Bee" are taken from Roger Troutman's song "Break Through", with help from Canadian funk duo Chromeo's talkbox vocals.
* SelfBackingVocalist: Played with. While Zedd never sings the lead vocals of a song himself, he does provide backing vocals for the singer who is.
** With one singular exception -- "Ignite", the song for the 2016 League of Legends World Championship.
* TitleTrack: "Clarity" and "True Colors".
* UndyingLoyalty: Miriam's Bryant's lyrics of "Find You" are about boundless loyalty to a friend, who is a dancer.
