Nathan Sharp, also known as [=NateWantsToBattle=], is a musician who got his start on Website/{{YouTube}}. He started off making ''Franchise/{{Pokemon}}''-themed {{Song Parod|y}}ies, but went on to make a varied selection of more serious works including {{Cover Version}}s of various rock hits, anime songs and video game music, original songs based on video games and songs with original themes.

!!The following tropes appear in his songs:
* ACappella: His CoverVersion of "[[VideoGame/{{Undertale}} Bonetrousle]]".
* AllLowercaseLetters: The title of ''Thnks Fr Th Cvrs'' is stylized as "thnks fr th cvrs" on the album cover.
* ConceptAlbum: ''Songs of Time'' is based on the story of ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaOcarinaOfTime''.
* CoverAlbum:
** The album ''Thnks fr th Cvrs'' contains his takes on mainstream songs like [[Music/FallOutBoy "Thnks fr th Mmrs"]], [[Music/PanicAtTheDisco "Victorious"]] and [[Music/MaydayParade "Miserable at Best"]].
** ''Genesis'' contains anime covers like "Literature/TheAsteriskWar" and "[[Manga/JojosBizarreAdventureDiamondIsUnbreakable Crazy Noisy Bizarre Town]]".
* CoverVersion: While Nate has done two full {{Cover Album}}s, he has also made several stand-alone covers:
** "Fist Bump" and "Infinite Theme" from ''VideoGame/SonicForces''.
** "Escape from the City" from ''VideoGame/SonicAdventure2''.
*** The above two are now included on the cover album ''Gotta Go Fast''.
** "Stand Out" from ''WesternAnimation/AGoofyMovie''.
** "Emperor's New Clothes" by Music/PanicAtTheDisco
** "My Shiny Teeth and Me" from ''WesternAnimation/TheFairlyOddParents''.
* ContinuityNod:
** "The Evil King" is the last song on ''Songs of Time'', and contains plenty of references to the rest of the songs on the album.
** "The Finale" contains references to his previous ''VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys'' songs.
* DealWithTheDevil: "Phantom", in which Nate plays a guy offering a wannabe magician a chance to perform actual magic before his audience, only to get trapped inside the glass ornament on Nate's cane. The lyrics also certainly help establish that your more than welcome to make a bargain with this guy, if you're willing to pay the price.
-->''I'm not what you want''\
''But I'm exactly what you need''\
''Take a bite and feed''\
''Your satisfaction guaranteed''
* DepartmentOfRedundancyDepartment: On iTunes, the tracks on the album ''Instrumentals'' have titles like "Mangled (Instrumental) [Instrumental]" and "Misty (Acoustic Instrumental) [Acoustic Instrumental]".
* {{Instrumentals}}:
** ''Instrumentals'' contains instrumental versions of 16 previously released tracks.
** ''Bad Time'' contains some {{Cover Version}}s of instrumental tracks from ''VideoGame/{{Undertale}}''.
* JumpScare: The lyric video for "The Finale" features many instances of ''VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys'' characters suddenly jumping at the camera.
* MidVidSkit: The "Phantom" video has one of these where a young magician [[DealWithTheDevil sells his soul]] to the titular Phantom for magical powers.
* NotSoDifferentRemark:
** In "Mangled", the animatronics argue that the security guard wearing a Freddy Fazbear head as a disguise makes them the same. He rejects this notion in "No More", where he says he'll never, ever be like them unless they find humanity.
** In "Dead Silence", Chara is taunting Frisk with the idea that they are both monsters, something that, unlike the above example, Frisk is not shown to rebuke.
* RedAndBlackAndEvilAllOver: In "Phantom", Nate is dressed in black and red clothes, and the person he's playing likes to give people a DealWithTheDevil kind of bargain.
* ShoutOut: Nate's artist name is a ''Franchise/{{Pokemon}}'' reference.
* ShutUpHannibal: "The Evil King" ends this way.
--> '''Link:''' You'll never be my king!
* SongParody: Some of his early albums contain various hits with their lyrics changed to make them about ''Franchise/{{Pokemon}}''.
* VillainSong:
** "Phantom" has Nate play a charming RedAndBlackAndEvilAllOver man who tricks a wannabe magician into getting trapped in his cane.
** Nate made many, MANY songs based around the ''VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys'' franhise, most often from the points of view of the evil animatronics: "Mangled", "Salvaged", "Nightmare", "This Is the End", "The Finale", "Enjoy the Show", "Madness", "One Way Ticket", "Obsolete", "Count the Teeth", "Stay the Course", "What You Want", "Always Come Back", and "Nothing Left to Want".
** Many songs from ''Franchise/TheLegendOfZelda''-themed album ''Songs of Time'' are this, sung from the point of view of various ''[[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaOcarinaOfTime Ocarina of Time]]'' bosses: "Twisted" by the Poe Sisters, "Grounded" by Volvogia, "Shell" by Kotake and Koume, "Drowning" by Morpha, "Hands of a Thief" by Bongo Bongo, and "The Evil King" by Ganondorf himself.
** "Dead Silence" and "Unaligned" come from the points of view of Chara and Frisk from ''VideoGame/{{Undertale}}'', respectively.
** ''VideoGame/BendyAndTheInkMachine''-inspired songs include "Blood and Ink" from the point of view of Bendy, "Let Me In" and "My Name Isn't Mine" reflecting the views of Sammy Lawrence, and "Symbol of My Regret" reflecting the view of Joey Drew.
** "One Last Time" and "Hello Neighbor" are inspired by ''VideoGame/HelloNeighbor'', and feature Theodore Peterson threatening his neighbor.
** "Delete Me" is from the point of view of Monika from ''VideoGame/DokiDokiLiteratureClub''.
** Even anime like ''Manga/DeathNote'' gets a song in the form of "Blank Page", a parody of "Blank Space" by Music/TaylorSwift that is from the perspective of Light Yagami.
** "In My Head" is a ''VideoGame/LeagueOfLegends''-themed song featuring Jinx swearing vengeance on Vi.
** "No Reason to Lie" is a groovy hero/villain number based on ''VideoGame/AmongUs'', where the Imposter (Nate) gloats about the murders he commits while the other crew (Amanda Lee and [=CG5=]) try to figure out what is going on.
* TheVillainSucksSong:
** "Ashes" is an ''VideoGame/{{Undertale}}'' song from the point of view of Sans as he condemns Frisk for committing genocide.
** "Manipulate" is from the point of view of the protagonist of ''VideoGame/DokiDokiLiteratureClub'', telling Monika that she deserves to be alone forever as retribution for her crimes.
