Psychosis pharaoh personified, Juan Mutant (born Juan Rogelio Camilion, 22 August 1969) is one of the most varied musicians of the 90s + 00s. Was in a band called Deliriant Mutant late 89/Dec 90 - Sep 1994 with Ken Anders, Jasper Vos + Janos Barta.

Juan got deported to Argentina Jan 1995 where he's lived alone since.

! tighTropes walker...
* Dada Album Artwork. His [=CDBaby=] artwork post-'04 is just a selection of images scanned from today's newspaper, have nothing in common with the music and are often poor quality. Ties in with his mental health and Industrial background.
* DistinctDoubleAlbum: Follow the Dollar. Although more of a compilation, Disc 1 is heavier than 2, has classic DM songs and the sound efx between tracks.
** The Zen/Muzak Samplers of 2008 have one disc with the advertised material and one with organized folders containing material found on EFX and Baby Power.
* Doorstopper: the Iris Is Missing, 22/08/69 and CWRINVM "boxsets". Considering those are complete works...
* DroneOfDread
* FadingIntoTheNextSong:
** Follow the Dollars 1st disc has songs which connect with sound effects such as laughing and vehicle engines.
** If you do some digging on the Zen Sampler, some of the songs actually have a natural transition. Resistance ➔ Insane Distortion ➔ Krash the System 90's.
* Improv: Disc 2 of Extreme File X has some [=PsychoIndustrial=] jams on it.
** Subverted. About half of Deliriant Mutants material sometimes sounds like they were sitting in a squat and recording 7 minute songs without a structure.
** "Ignorance of Desire" actually has a clearly defined structure; Perc + intro/Verse 1/Verse 2/Bridge 1/Verse 3/Bridge 2/Middle 8/Verse 4
* IndecipherableLyrics: Cold Static and Follow the Dollar suffer from this. The vocals are compressed but also unnecessarily distorted and mixed low. The less instrumented songs such as Dishwasher do not suffer.
** "Outsider" (dat recorder/erased data) from 22/08/69 seems to be half improvised half written. It's also sung in Spanish. Not very well sung (in terms of technique, the performance is great) and probably, like his texts, not meaning anything. It looks like he was rifling through his master tapes, pulled out the DM backing tracks and thought "Yes, I'll improv over this"
* Industrial a la Throbbing Gristle. Deliriant Mutant's music. Makes for some... interesting listening.
** "Accident". There's just a very distorted kick drum, a groaning synth, someone saying something about an accident.
** "The Machine". Some repeating breathing apparatus which gets layered on top of itself.
** Mental health is one reason why people gravitate towards this trope so you can see why Juan fits it like a latex glove.
* IntelligenceEqualsIsolation. The albums he released in 2004 and Extreme File X serve as a reminder to anyone trying to be vastly original. His use of simple melodies, few chords and words is a thing to behold. On the flip he lives alone in a flat in Buenos Aires.
** Wasn't always the case. Used to live in squats around Europe where he recorded Deliriant Mutant material.
** GoMadFromTheIsolation and release all your old material 100 times over. Hmm...
* LimitedLyricsSong
* NewSoundAlbum: Up to 11. Even between Follow the Dollar + Cold Static. Follow the Dollar is more post punk, whilst Cold Static is more Electronic.
* OffscreenMomentOfAwesome
** Since the whole of the internet is not archived and Juan is a very obscure artist, we have no knowing of any album before "Iris Is Missing". There are records of Juan talking about "discs" back in 2002 which may or may not contain since released music.
** Any Deliriant Mutant song not released for any reason. Also, any Deliriant Mutant song not recorded (or recorded over!) counts. There must have been alternate takes of certain songs.
** Deliriant Mutant performances which weren't recorded. Even though every second of spontaneity couldn't be viably captured, it would be great to hear some more great hooks as great as "Fat Lady".
* RearrangeTheSong: Juan did this with Deliriant Mutant material when rerecording it for Cold Static.
** The backing track for "Outsider" was released on Iconoclasta. Thanks to Juan's tendencies of hugely misnaming 95% of his material, you don't realize he'd already released a version on 22/08/69 called "dat recorder"/"erased data"
* SomethingSomethingLeonardBernstein
* SpokenWordInMusic: Oh yes!
* StudioChatter.
** At the start of "The Cascade" someone can be heard saying "Juan NO!!" or "Juan GO!" repeatedly.
** At the end of "Fuel" there's some whistling.
** Happens a lot on Iris Is Missing and 22/08/69 where he's watching TV or listening to radio. Although this is part of the charm.
* SubduedSection: HE SAW HIS FINGERS TREMBLING ON THE TRIGGER OF A GUNNNNN. The drumbeat actually gets heavier!!
* SurprisinglyGentleSong: Stains. Granted, the song's about renouncing corruption and religion but the music is beautiful...
* TheCoverChangesTheMeaning: Track 91 of 22/08/69 is Juan's version of "Oh! Susanna" complete with weird backward instrument noises. It sounds quite mad and ironically the track is misnamed "Demented".
* ThreeChordsAndTheTruth: Let the Ignorance of Desire Grow. Not the traditional 3 chord song. The lyrics are about death of corporations and watching your own suicide on TV
