!They provide examples of the following tropes:
* AffectionateParody: The music video for “Your Biggest Fan” is nearly a shot-for-shot parody of Rob Reiner’s “Misery”
* AIIsACrapshoot: The lyrics for the song "AI Freaks Me Out" contain multiple paranoid theories about robots.
* AudienceParticipationSong:
** "Godzilla". Most typically, the audience sing the chorus vocal, specifically the “go-go-Godzilla” chant.
* BeYourself - their song “Bill Murray” is a perfect example of this, featuring the lyric "What's the point in trying to be someone that I can't be?"
* BrainUploading: "Ghost in the Machine" is all about abandoning human bodies for digital immortality.
* CallBack: In the Destiny-inspired song "Figured You Out" the singer makes reference to "whispering wild theories", the same as as in their original Destiny-inspired song "The Glimmer Shot", where the singeer had "divined wild theories"
* TheCameo: Fred Mascherino (from Music/TakingBackSunday) plays a guitar solo on “Goddamn Mimetic Business”.
* CharacterAlignment: The theme of the entire album ''Alignments''; it contains a song about all nine ''TabletopGame/DungeonsAndDragons'' alignments.
* CoverVersion:
** “Godzilla” by Music/BlueOysterCult
** "Don't Stop Me Now" by Music/QueenBand
** "Buddy Holly" by Weezer
** and inexplicably [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zOnn_QCNbI "The Edge of Night" by Peregrin Pippin Took]].
* DrugsAreBad: “Strange Acquaintance” contains the scientific explanation of addiction in the opening stanza.
* DoubleMeaningTitle: “S O F I Ne” is written about chemistry pertaining to IntercourseWithYou, while the chorus uses chemical elements to spell the title; sulfur, oxygen, fluorine, iodine, neon.
* LeetLingo: The album title ''721835'' is l33t for the word “tribes”.
* LeadBassist: Vocalist Ian Nichols is also the band's bassist.
* LongestSongGoesLast: The modest 4:16 track "Alignments" from the album of the same name. Interestingly, it is preceeded by the shortest song in the band's original catalogue, "The Imp".
* LoopedLyrics: The chorus lyrics of "Jet Black" are recursive.
* NonAppearingTitle: Lots of these. "Gambit", "Strange Acquaintance", "Horror Beyond Imagination", “The Glimmer Shot”, “Impasse”, “Exposure Exposure”, "Ghost in the Machine"
* PrecisionFStrike: nearly one on each album. "Weakened Warriors" on ''Unsaved Progress'', "The Imp" on ''Alignments'', and "Top of the World" on ''Undefeated''.
* PunnyName: “Weakened Warrior”
* {{Scatting}}: The beginning of “Horror Beyond Imagination”.
* ShoutOut: “AAA” includes a reference to the House of TARG, an arcade from the band's hometown of Ottawa.
* RevealShot: In the video for "Godzilla", the band tease the titular creature only to reveal that it's really a costumed-bulldog wrecking havoc on the city.
* RockTrio: Not originally, but the sound of the modern line up has shifted to this.
* ThePowerOfRock: "Exposure Exposure" has a repetitive hook and message about living and dying for the genre, while the bridge veers into HymnToMusic territory.
* TitleTrack:
** "Alignments"
** "Undefeated"
* UncommonTime: Their song “Horror Beyond Imagination” is predominantly in 7/4
* AWildRapperAppears: MC Lars on the band's song "Your Biggest Fan"
