1Matthew Tyler Musto (born November 27, 1990), known professionally as Blackbear (stylized in [[AllLowercaseLetters all lowercase]]), is an American [[RAndB R&B]] singer, rapper, songwriter, and record producer.

3He has been professionally producing music since 2006, when he was part of a rock band called Polaroid. By 2008, he had also begun writing solo music and dropped out of high school to pursue music. After leaving Polaroid, he moved to Atlanta to work with Music/NeYo, and produced several songs throughout the next few years. In 2011, he officially decided on using the pseudonym "Blackbear" for his music. Several years later in 2014, he became one of the first indie artists to monetize streaming on [=SoundCloud=]. He released his first full-length album, ''Deadroses'', on February 14, 2015.

5Blackbear is a member of the alternative hip-hop duo Mansionz alongside Mike Posner. Amongst the songs he's helped produce is Music/JustinBieber's "Boyfriend" , which he co-wrote alongside Posner as well. Blackbear has collaborated with various musical acts throughout his career including Music/LinkinPark, Music/GucciMane, {{Music/Tinashe}}, Music/MachineGunKelly, WebVideo/TinyMeatGang, Music/GEazy and Music/AllTimeLow.
