As with most Gundam series, ''Anime/MobileSuitGundam00'' has a number of sidestories that complement the main series. These sidestories are designed to flesh out the world of Gundam 00, and give insight into the histories of various characters, Celestial Being and the mobile suits themselves. As of 2010, there are 7 side stories, which can be divided into the following:

* 2007-2009 (alongside the airing of both seasons of Gundam 00 and in between):
** Gundam 00P - A Photonovel that acted as a Prequel to the series that was serialised in the Dengeki Hobby Magazine. Like the main TV series, it was split into two seasons that ran alongside each season of the main show. Season 1 was set in 2292, 15 years before the TV series, and followed four second generation Gundam Meisters during the development of the second generation Gundams (prototypes of the third generation Gundams seen in season 1 of the series). Season 2 was set 10 years before the series, and introduces two new characters who are assigned to find new meisters for the third generation Gundams being developed.

** Gundam 00F - A manga serialised in Gundam Ace, this took place during Season 1 of Gundam 00, and follows a second secret team of Celestial Being called Fereshte that supports the main team's interventions from the shadows, using the prototype Gundams from Gundam 00P with their only Gundam Meister, Fon Spaak. It also featured cameos (and fairly major roles in one chapter) from characters in the main show. So far this is the only 00 sidestory to be released in the west.

** Gundam 00V - Serialised in Hobby Japan, this shows variations of designs seen in the TV show from the view of a scientist, Robert Spacey, albeit some point in the future, remembering himself as a ordinary young Mobile Suit engineers, often lucky enough to catch the Gundams using different equipment, and eventually caught up in the conspiracy of the latter half of the first season.

* 2010-??? (In the run up to the Movie):
** Gundam 00N - Serialised in the Dengeki Hobby Magazine, this Photonovel takes the form of various reports and articles from 2307-12 about Mobile Suits or major events from the series.

** Gundam 00I - A Manga serialised in Gundam Ace, this takes place during Season 2, and follows Leif Recitativo, [[spoiler: an Innovade who must gather others like himself]]. The manga also acts as a sequel to both Gundam 00F and the 00P, exploring what has happened to those characters. This also contains cameos from the main 00 characters, most notably [[spoiler: Ribbons Almark, who appears to be orchestrating events in this manga, alongside being the BigBad of the main show.]]
*** Gundam 00I 2314 - A sequel to Gundam 00I and a sidestory to [[Anime/Gundam00AWakeningOfTheTrailblazer the film.]] It follows Gundam Meisters Leonard Fiennes and Delphine Bedelia (two HRL SuperSoldiers previously seen in 00P) as part of a revived Fereshte, using Season 2 Gundam Variations seen in 00V.

** Gundam 00V Senki - Serialised in Hobby Japan, this is effectively the same as 00V, but with new designs, and rather than taking place from the view of Robert Spacy, this is the story of actual events mentioned in 00V, featuring Setsuna and co. as well as other characters from the 00 side stories. The stories take place between 2307-12 but a few have also taken place after both seasons, setting up the situation of Celestial Being for TheMovie.

----
!!All of the side stories provide examples of:

* AllThereInTheManual: While these sidestories all contain their own characters and stories, collectively, they are the "manual" for many elements of Gundam 00.

[[foldercontrol]]

[[folder: Tropes used in 00P]]
* AlliterativeName: Ruido Resonance
* AllLoveIsUnrequited: Chall is heavily suggested to have a crush on Ruido, but never really acts on it.
* BattleCouple: Ruido and Marlene gradually become this.
* {{BFG}}: Gundam Astrea's GN launcher.
* BigBad: Beside Pain, though he's really just TheDragon to the BigBad of animated series.
* BlondBrunetteRedhead: Marlene, Chall and Ruido respectively.
* BrokenBird: [[spoiler:Chall]] in Season 2 and later [[spoiler:Hixar]].
* EmotionlessGirl: Gundam Meister 874.
* IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy: Chall to Ruido and Marlene.
* IWasQuiteALooker: Ian Vashti and Joyce Moreno are seen in their respective youth here.
* NotSoStoic: In the last chapter, Beside lost his coolness when found that [[spoiler:Grave]] is still alive.
* {{Prequel}}: To the main series. With P stand for "Past", according to WordOfGod.
* ThoseTwoGuys: Ian Vashti and Dr. Moreno, who have just joined Celestial Being and have yet to take major roles in the organization.

[[folder: Tropes used in 00F]]
* AxCrazy: Fon Spaak full stop.
* ButtMonkey: Eco Calore, full stop. The original candiate for Exia... who got shuffled off as the spare Meister in a sub-group of Celestial Being thanks to Ribbons tampering with Veda. The guy who never gets to pilot a Gundam at all.
* CatGirl: For some odd reason, Hanayo [[spoiler:and later Hanaya.]] She ditches the cat elements after leaving with Fon Spaak.
* ColonyDrop: It was originally a proposal that Fon submitted when he was with a terrorist group. [[spoiler: Later on, he essentially fakes one by pretending to plan to drop a bunch of resource satellites onto Earth only to instead blow them up, using the resulting dust cloud to cut off the solar power generation system from the sunlight, which allowed him to actually track the flow of power and locate Veda's terminal. Too bad Ribbons had already deactivated it.]]
* CurbStompBattle: Anytime Fon gets into a fight after the Trans-Am system, most noticeably when [[spoiler: he is fighting four 2nd Gen Gundams installed with Tau Drives, he defeats them in a double page spread]].
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Chall, due to the events that occurred at the end of Gundam 00P Season 1.
* {{Deconstruction}}: [[spoiler:Hixar's clone]] deconstructs the writing tactic of substituting character development and/or personality with humor. Although [[spoiler:the clone]] is much more humorous and lively than Hixar himself is, it also leads to him being portrayed in-universe as [[KnowNothingKnowItAll grossly incompetent]], [[SpoiledRotten spoiled]], and above all unable to grow as a person. [[spoiler: It is for this reason Hixar refuses to see the clone or Grave's clone as anything remotely human and kills both without a second thought.]]
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Fon is a person who takes pleasure in killing people. Yet he is disgusted at Ribbons's attitude of treating people as mere tools.
** It's implied that this trope applies to Fon himself, who got himself kicked out of ''multiple'' terrorist groups for being way too violent for their tastes. Suggesting that they perform a ColonyDrop on Earth apparently go over well.
* EvilLaugh: Fon, again. "AGYAGYAGYAGYA!"
* MeaningfulName: Hanayo. [[spoiler:She's Gundam Meister 874; using the GoroawaseNumber system, 874 becomes Ha(chi)-Na(na)-Yo(n).]]
* ReiAyanamiExpy: Hanayo, though she eventually grows out of this trope.
* SixthRanger: Subversion. Fon's role is this to the anime Meisters, as he helps them without revealing himself for few times. But he never joined the group at all.
* ThePiratesWhoDontDoAnything: Eco Calore, supposedly a Gundam Meister... who spends his entire page time as support staff. Even when Fereshete has two solar units, they have Hixar pilot instead of him.
* TokenEvilTeammate: Fon. Much like Wang Liu Mei, he doesn't give a damn about Celestial Being's goals; he just wants to see the world change (how doesn't matter), and to take part in that change.

[[folder: Tropes used in 00V]]
* ButtMonkey: Amy [[RedBaron "Steel Cowboy"]] Zimbalist
** In Cherudim SAGA's profile, he put up a good fight, but every time he thought he got a chance to attack, Cherudim simply pulled another gun out (and Cherudim SAGA has ''seven'' guns), and his MS eventually runs out of power.
** In Ahead Long Tail's profile, he spends a whole week in a futile mission to seek Celestial Being's secret base. It ends with him forced to use a beam cannon to protect himself from approaching asteroids, leaving his MS powerless and unable to do anything but send a rescue signal and wait for help.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: 00V would often give hints about mecha in the second season of the main series.
* SupportingProtagonist: Robert Spacey is a historian, never piloting a MS himself.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Tropes used in 00N]]
* {{Documentary}}: 00N is done in the style of a report, that sheds light on Characters, Mobile Suits and Events that were seen in the series. It has also introduced a number of [=MSVs=].
* FourthWallPsych: The Aero Flag profile. The ''formal report'' ends it with note that the MS was used by Joshua Edwards, who got praised that he might be an even greater pilot than Graham Aker. Then there is a handwritten addition reading ''“But, there’s no doubt that he’d fall behind Patrick Colasour!”''.

[[folder: Tropes used in 00I]]
* EpicFlail: Gundam Astrea Type F's GN hammer.
* GrandTheftMe: It turns out that [[spoiler:Beside Pain]] has his personality data backed up in 1 Gundam's system. So when Leif boards it, he can takeover [[spoiler:his body]].
* SheIsAllGrownUp: Sherylin Hyde
* StoryBreakerPower: Regene Regetta, after "awakening", has the ability to remote-control ''any GN Drive-equipped machine'', including those with True GN Drives. Hermiya quickly uses her own Innovade ability to erase his memories of this, [[StatusQuoIsGod explaining why he didn't use that in the series]].
* WeakButSkilled: Remember the Garazzo from TV series? Fon beats ''three'' of that thing, using replica of his old Gundam Astrea Type F.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Tropes used in 00V Senki]]
* AnachronicOrder: The first Chapter takes place some point after season 2 in 2313. The second is in 2307... you get the idea.
* MerchandiseDriven: Whilst earlier chapters either expanded on events mentioned in 00V, or filled the gap between the 2nd Season and the Movie, later chapters have became directly related to the 00 model release of that month (which to be fair, were Sidestory related MS for a few months in a row). But given this is Bandai we are talking about...
