''Dropkick on My Devil'' (''Jashin-chan Doroppukikku'') is a comedy manga written and illustrated by Yukiwo, which began serialization in ''Comic Meteor'' in April 2012.

The manga follows a college student named Yurine who ends up summoning a lamia devil named Jashin-''chan'' while dabbling in dark arts. Jashin-''chan'' takes offense that a lowly human would dare summon her and tries to kill her. Keyword: "Tries", as Yurine turns out to be extremely formidable and quite proficient in weaponry. And since she summoned Jashin-''chan'' , Jashin-''chan'' can't go back home until Yurine either sends her back (which she doesn't know how to do) or is killed. So begins a rather odd relationship of sorts with Jashin-''chan'' trying every opportunity to off Yurine while some other devils, angels, and even vampires soon get into the mix as well.

First announced in December 2017, an anime adaptation by Nomad ran from July to September 2018 and was subbed for [[Creator/PrimeVideo Amazon Video]]. A second season, under the title ''Dropkick on my Devil Dash'', aired from April to June 2020. A third season, ''Dropkick on my Devil X'', aired from July to September 2022. Both were subbed for Website/{{Crunchyroll}} instead, though they would later gain the rights to the first season in June 2023. A standalone OriginalVideoAnimation, subtitled ''Apocalypse Arc'', is set for release in December 2023.

[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9IdUTgwzYw A fourth season is in development, which was confirmed shortly after the conclusion of the 3rd season.]] [[https://motion-gallery.net/projects/jashinchan04 It was officially crowdfunded in November of the same year, with plans to continue the anime well until at least December 2025 with the release of a crowdfunded OVA.]]

----
!! Has the following tropes

* AcquaintanceDenial: In episode 11 of X, Jashin-chan pretends to forget that she was summoned by Yurine, to prevent [[spoiler:Ecute and Atre from going into her house and turning her into a vampire. It fails]].
* ActuallyPrettyFunny: While most of Jashin-chan's puns are lost on the other characters, Yurine genuinely finds them funny and creative and actually praises Jashin-chan's humor at times when she lamets to Yurine that nobody got her joke.
* AdaptationInducedPlotHole: Since the Anime starts around Chapter 58 of the manga, a number of character introductions and other plotpoints are skipped, but sometimes referred to anyway. This also happens later in the series as well, though in an unusual case, the show actually {{Lampshade|hanging}}s this issue frequently and [[AllThereInTheManual tells readers which volume of the manga to read to get caught up]]. To wit:
** The apartment still has the shrine to Jashin-chan's pet fawn, Azusa II, who she accidentally kills early on and feels immense guilt over, but Azusa's death isn't shown until well after it happens in the manga, [[NoFourthWall with characters pointing out that it was skipped over by the anime]] and forcing a quick recap of the incident.
** Despite having Persephone II receiving AdaptationalEarlyAppearance, and being inserted into the background of a number of stories she wasn't originally in, showing her feverish attempt to find Jashin-chan, the anime doesn't explain ''why'' she's there (which is to teach Jashin-Chan a stronger dropkick that ends up not working out). When Persephone I finally appears, this issue is pointed out and Persephone II tells readers to [[AllThereInTheManual tells the audience to consult volume 8]].
** Lierre recieves AdaptationalEarlyAppearance without an introduction in the season 2 Chitose special, likely due to her voice actress being from the Chitose, but the chapter with her proper introduction is adapted later. This is pointed out in a season 3 ColdOpen, where Jashin-chan sees the special airing on television and freaks out that there's apparently an alternate timeline where they met Lierre earlier, but everyone else ignore this and acts as if nothing is wrong.
* AdvertisedExtra: Ecute and Atre are featured in the poster and opening for ''X'', on top of being heavily advertised as the major new characters for the season, yet only appear in the final two episodes.
* AllJustADream:
** One chapter had Jashin-''chan'' dream Yurine had brought a spear and, after the usual shenanigans, ends with her about to be impaled. Jashin-''chan'' wakes up and finds it was all a dream...and then Yurine returns home with a spear.
** After the credits of episode 9 of the anime, Jashin-''chan'' has another dream that she, Medusa, and Minos were all victims of a Main/ZombieApocalypse.
* AllThereInTheManual: The anime jumps straight into the series with Medusa, Pekora and Minos (the latter who comes ''much'' later in the series) already familar with Yurine and Jashin-''chan'' 's antics and Bate already being Yurine's pet. Basically assuming you know most of these characters already from the manga. Though oddly Kori and Yusa's introduction still happen as in the manga.
* AscendedMeme: Miku is seen spinning her leek in Episode 11 of ''X'', but while in the original meme it was Hachune doing it while standing still, here Miku does it while walking and passing by Yukiwo...while asking for the teacher's colored autograph.
* BaitAndSwitch: The 11th episode acts as something of a finale to the 1st season, ending with a role call of the characters as the theme of the series plays over the ending...And the 12th episode followed not long after acting as the ''true'' finale for the season.
* BalkingSummonedSpirit: Effectively the premise of the series. Jashin-chan was summoned by Yurine with a ritual. However, Yurine didn't actually have a reason for summoning her and merely wanted to try the ritual out which agitates Jashin-chan. The only way Jashin-chan can leave is if Yurine dies as Yurine doesn't know how to dismiss her. Jashin's efforts to kill Yurine always end in failure.
* BareHandedBladeBlock: Jashin-''chan'' tries to practice the technique in Chapter 42.
* BerserkButton: GivingSomeoneThePointerFinger in Yurine's way, some of Jashin-''chan'' punishment were inflicted from doing this. At one point she actually remembered ''not'' to do it when arguing with Yurine...and ''still'' got punished ''because'' she was about to do it (well that, and losing their pet demon dog and trying to lie about it).
** Jashin-''chan'''s is wasting food. She says wasting a human life is fine, but wasting food is unforgivable. This gives her enough rage to defeat Poporon and inadvertently save Pekola.
* BewareTheNiceOnes:
** Medusa is actually quite kind and timid for a devil. But even she can get annoyed with Jashin-''chan'' 's attitude. At one point turning a prank Jashin-''chan'' tried to play on her around on her.
** Kyon-Kyon is very sweet and kind for a demon from Hell, but if you dare make fun of her big sister... it will NOT be pretty.
** Miku is normally a CloudCuckoolander with little understanding of what is going on around her, but in Episode 10 of ''X'', she gets visibly angry after Jashin-''chan'' stood in her way while driving a truck. She even yelled at Jashin-''chan'' "You wanna die, you [[PrecisionFStrike bitch]]?!"[[note]]てめぇ、死にてえのか?! (Temee, shinitee no ka?!)[[/note]] as she's driving away.
* BigSisterInstinct: Yusa to Kori. Her introduction in the manga had her coming over to Yurine's place to confront Jashin-''chan'' about her mistreatment when she invited Kori over the first time. It ends about as well as you expect: Jashin-''chan'' getting frozen... again.
* BitingTheHandHumor: In episode 2, Yurine [[NoFourthWall blames Flex Comics]][[note]]The company that publishes the Dropkick on my Devil manga[[/note]] for why her apartment doesn’t have air conditioning.
* BloodyHilarious: The punishments Yurine inflicts on Jashin-''chan'' usually involve lots of Jashin-''chan'' 's blood being spilled and/or her being mutilated. Don't worry, as since Jashin-''chan'' 's a devil, she can regenerate over time.
* {{Bowdlerize}}: The anime changes a couple instances of guns into other weapons (such as swords) or objects, despite keeping the rest of the BloodyHilarious violence completely intact. This is especially noticeable in the fourth episode of ''X'', where the original gag was that Mei gave Jashin-chan a fake gun that ends up not firing when Jashin tries to use it on Yurine. In the anime it's changed to a figurine of a tsuchinoko, which makes it a lot more questionable that Jashin-Chan wouldn't notice that she doesn't have a real gun. This is zig-zagged though as Mei does end up using a gun several times in the Minamishimabara episode, which is an original story not adapted from the manga.
* BrickJoke: Chapter 115 has Jashin-''chan'' gifting Medusa a ninja costume. Come Chapter 140 and Medusa is actually using said costume and even gets a "mission" from Jashin-''chan''. And Chapter 183 has Jashin-''chan'' getting the same thing as birthday gift.
* CallingYourAttacks: One instance of Jashin-''chan'' 's surprise dropkick failing is because she announced it aloud for Yurine to hear. Jashin proceeds to blame the Sound Engineer as it was supposed to be an internal monologue.
* CelebrityParadox: In episode 5, Jashin-''chan'' and Yurine leave a bookstore and notice a poster with Yurine on it advertising the Dropkick on my Devil anime.
* CentralTheme: When people are summoned into your life and become those you are now forced to deal with, are you able to see the value within them, no matter how good or bad they may be? This theme is present in most character dynamics, extending to the overall relationship between Jashin and Yurine, to the rivalry between angels and devils, and even within each race.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: Downplayed. While the gag dynamic between Jashin-''chan'' trying to kill Yurine never truly stops it becomes less frequent with the duo acting more like roommates that often butt heads, but still manages to get along without any hints of needless violence, something that would never happen in earlier chapters.
* {{Cliffhanger}}: [[spoiler: ''X'' ends with Jashin going into the sun to save Jinbocho, but the season concludes in the middle of Jashin performing a dropkick (named after the season itself) before she can return back to the pool party she was hosting.]]
* CouchGag: In one cold opening of season 2, Jashin-''chan'' gets mocked by Yurine who calls her a "Smart Alek Devil" and think they should change the title of it. Sure enough, after the opening plays, the title is indeed changed to "Smart Alek Devil".
* CreepyMonotone: Yurine tends to speak like this, even in Jashin-''chan'' 's ImagineSpot of her screams of death being flat tones.
* CuteMonsterGirl: The series is rife with them with a majority of the cast being devil girls.
* DayInTheLife / DayInTheLimelight: The second segment of episode 9 revolves around Minos.
* {{Determinator}}: Despite Yurine besting her constantly, Jashin-''chan'' doesn't give up easily and keeps trying to find ways to off her.
* DidntThinkThisThrough: A lot of Jashin-''chan'' 's attacks on Yurine failing is due to the fact she doesn't take into account certain things.
** For example she attempted to invite Medusa over so she could turn Yurine to stone. However before, she had asked Yurine if it was alright to invite a friend over. Yurine allowed it and then asked who said friend was. As you can imagine when Yurine heard the name "Medusa", it didn't take much to thwart Jashin-''chan'' 's plan.
** Another, Jashin-''chan'' had saw a news report about the mountains and thought up a plan to get Yurine to go hiking in which she would try to kill her by pushing her off a cliff or having bears maul her to death. Just one hitch in her plan, Yurine turned down the offer to go.
** One of the more simple ones has Jashin-''chan'' have Medusa bring over a crowbar so she can sneak up on Yurine and bash her head in with it. Only when she went to execute it, she ''yelled at the top of her lungs'' as she was going in for the strike. Yurine countered her easily as a result.
** Season 2 Episode 7 has Jashin-''chan'' use glue for Yurine to step on. She does, but she takes off her shoes. Jashin-''chan'' however anticipated this and she left another puddle of glue, but Yurine takes off her socks, which leaves Jashin bewildered. This all ends with Jashin-''chan'' getting [[HalfthemanHeusedtobe cut in half]] by Yurine, [[DisproportionateRetribution as punishment]] for ruining her sock and shoes.
* DirtyCop: Mei Tachibana is a police woman who regularly ''steals'' objects she deems cute off the street and brings them back to her home. At one point practically trying to take a display ''right in front of the manager of a store''. She also stalks Jashin-''chan'' and abuses her authority by trying to seduce her, and even tried to kill her [[DisproportionateRetribution for refusing to]] [[IfICantHaveYou go home with her]] (worse, the only thing that stopped her was her shift ending; she did that ''on the clock'' and likely would've gone through with killing Jashin-''chan'' if she had more time).
* DoItYourselfThemeTune: The first season’s opening theme is sung by the entire main cast.
* EdutainmentShow: While not explicitly advertised or marketed as one, the series frequently goes into the history of various foodstuffs and locales, especially in the anime episodes sponsored by local tourism boards where they go into great detail about the an area's background. Devil A also interjects random factoids during scene transitions of the anime, and Minos also has a one-volume spinoff where she explains how various beef dishes are prepared, the history of the dish, the types of cow they come from, and what part of the cow each cut is derived from.
* ElegantGothicLolita: Yurine dresses the part to the tee: Black dress, eye patch, small hat on head. Etc.
* EmergencyTaxi: In season 2 episode 2, Pino gets her halo shattered by Poporon. She quickly hails a taxi to get away from her and Pekola.
* FailureIsTheOnlyOption: All of Jashin-''chan'' 's attempts to kill Yurine end in Yurine cutting up Jashin-''chan'' painfully.
* FantasticRacism: Demons are looked down upon by angels, and the feeling is often mutual.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: In the cold open of the third episode of ''X'', the television broadcasting Chitose mentions that Jashin was responsible for Japan's first-ever hometown tax and other evil deeds. This comes to bite her later on as the aftermath of ''Dash'''s finale is what kickstarts the series' Escape Arc.
* GhostInTheMachine: A rather absurd example in the 2nd season. Among the forms of Jashin-''chan'' that 'live' inside her head are a military general, a warrior with impractical get-up, a scientist, a psychic, 'Super Jashin-''chan'' ' (which is just a lazy Jashin-''chan'' who has a giant Jashin-''chan'' carry her around; the lives of the two are connected), Buddha, and a tardigrade whose only able to say "It's cause I'm so tiny....". Oh and regular Jashin-''chan'' is there too.
* GodivaHair: Jashin-''chan'' is almost always topless, but her hair always hangs in the perfect position to keep anything from showing.
* GoodAngelBadAngel: {{Subverted|Trope}}, Jashin-chan has the classic Angel and Devil pop up on her shoulders at certain times, but they both give her the same advice.
* GoToSleepEnding: In season 2 Episode 5, Jashin-''chan'' gives Medusa a ninja costume for her birthday. After the end credits, we see Medusa asleep in her bed dreaming of her and Jashin-''chan'' playing in color coordinated ninja costumes.
* GoodThingYouCanHeal: Yurine brutally destroys Jashin-''chan'' OncePerEpisode, but she's all healed up by next time.
* GorgeousGorgon: The aptly named Medusa is one. In a subversion it's not because she's ugly but ''too cute'' that turns people to stone. As such she ends up wearing a paper bag on her head when out in public. Yurine is immune to her gaze however due to wearing a special bracelet that prevents her from beeing turned to stone.
* HarmlessFreezing: Subverted. Each time Kori and Yusa freeze Jashin-''chan'' , she breaks into pieces upon falling over. Again though, her regeneration keeps her from dying from it. Though likely takes a bit longer since, y'know, being stuck in ice and having to wait for it to melt.
* HonorBeforeReason: Pekola, an angel girl, brings a lot of misfortune on herself because she refuses charity form Yurine, thinking her evil just because she associates with Jashin despite being told repeatedly that Yurine isn't. She more expects people ''to'' help her rather then ''ask'' people for help.
* IdenticalStranger: In Episode 8 of ''X'', Amakusa Shiro, plus his older and younger sisters are apparently this to Pekola, Poporon, and Pino, respectively. They just happen to know Lierre as well.
* ImTakingHerHomeWithMe: [[{{cloudcuckoolander}} Mei Tachibana]] does this to any object she finds to be cute, and then she lays eyes on Jashin-''chan'' who she's determined to bring home with her.
* IronButtMonkey: Jashin-''chan'' gets dismembered and broken OncePerEpisode but being a devil she can [[GoodThingYouCanHeal heal the damage]]. Though doesn't make it any less painful.
* IronMaiden: Yurine puts Jashin-''chan'' in one [[Main/DisproportionateRetribution as punishment for eating her pudding.]]
* LighterAndSofter: The second season of the anime toned down both Jashin-''chan'''s jerkassery and Yurine's cruel punishments (for the most part). %%Downplayed with the third season.
* NatureTinkling: During the second BeachEpisode, Jashin-''chan'' is implied to do this in the ocean. She’s shown with a distressed expression on her face, which turns into a relieved one as she lets out a sigh. Needless to say, those around her at the time are horrified at what she apparently did.
* NoFourthWall: Characters are all aware they are in a work of fiction. In fact one time Jashin-''chan'' uses a censor screen to hide the fact she's actually fully healed.
* OriginsEpisode: The first episode of season two shows how Yurine summoned Jashin-''chan'' to Earth and what lead to Jashin-''chan'' getting stuck there. Turns out the spell book was part of a volume set and the the spell Yurine needed to send Jashin-''chan'' back to Hell was in the next volume which she didn't have.
* OurAngelsAreDifferent: Angels are only as powerful as long as they have their halo. If they don't, they're pretty much BroughtDownToNormal, and considering how surprisingly fragile they are, this happens pretty frequently. Poor Pekora dropped and lost hers when she came to Earth (someone mistaking it for a light bulb and threw it in the trash). Poporon loses hers when Jashin-''chan'' eats it and Pino's ends up destroyed when Poporon German-suplexes her to save Pekora. Then Lierre shows up, and she’s revealed to be a little kid in ''X''.
* ParanormalGamblingAdvantage: Jashin-''chan'' is able roll whatever number she wants on a die. Upon seeing it her summoner/roommate Yurine thinks to herself that such a power could make a lot of money, but Jashin-''chan'' herself is too dumb to realize it, despite frequently gambling all her money away on pachinko machines.
* PieInTheFace: In the second season, when Jashin-''chan'' encounters the people who have been [[ItMakesSenseInContext trolling her on Twitter]], she ends up doing this to them. Creating better and better pies to throw and for people to taste actually ends up overshadowing her original goal in this whole ordeal.
* ProductPlacement: In episode six, Yurine is seen buying a weapon from Amazon and even mentions it by name when they deliver it to her home. As stated, the series was streamed on Amazon Video, so likely this was intentional.
* PuttingThePeeInPool: In the Chitose-hen special, Jashin-''chan'' accidentally relieves herself in a hot spring, and then manages to enjoy such a thing. Naturally, this ends up with her getting punished by Yurine.
* RoadRunnerVsCoyote: Most of this series in a nutshell when it's not being SliceOfLife with Yurine being the former and Jashin-''chan'' being the latter.
* RunningGag: Music/HatsuneMiku [=V4X=][[note]]credited as '[[SyntheticVoiceActor voiced]]' by Creator/SakiFujita[[/note]] makes recurring cameos in ''Dropkick on my Devil X'', acting as comedic relief, involving in some way, [[TrademarkFavouriteFood her leek]].
** In [[CreditsGag the opening]], Jashin-''chan'' gets the idea to do a band scene from being hit in the face by a Miku flyer.
** In Episode 1, Jashin-''chan'' steals her leek and gives her a 100 yen coin in return, for her to celebrate since she only paid 90.
** In Episode 2, after Jashin-''chan'' is [[HalfTheManHeUsedToBe sliced in half]], Miku is seen poking her disembodied tail with the leek.
** In Episode 3, Miku, who is walking around town with her leek, is caught by Mei and winds up handcuffed to Pekola. After being carted around by the cast, her "manager", a Crypton Future Media staff member, shows up to take her home.
** In Episode 4, Miku appears as one of Jashin-''chan'''s classmates during a flashback to demon school.
** In Episode 5, the hooded courier witch reveals herself to be Miku, but Jashin-''chan'' is confused by this, and Miku activates the [[Anime/KikisDeliveryService "magic" in the broom]] and leaves for her next client. Jashin-''chan'' still accepts the item anyway.
** In Episode 6, Miku stumbles upon a pudding stall while playing a mukkuri along the way.
** In Episode 7, Miku performs and sings at a traditional festival in Obihiro.
** In Episode 8, Miku plays with a water balloon with the jiangshi sisters and local children at the base of Ayugaeri Falls.
** In Episode 9, Miku and Jashin-''chan'' go out skiing together. Before that, Miku is seen popping grapes in a pool with her feet to make wine.
** In Episode 10, Miku appears as the truck driver running over a reckless Jashin-''chan'' in a hit-and-run crash, after the latter got "Death" written in her omikuji and repeatedly says that "[[TemptingFate she will not die]]". Miku even {{lampshade|hanging}}s this by angrily, and [[BewaretheNiceOnes rudely]], yelling to Jashin-''chan'' "You wanna die, you bitch!?"
* Beyond Miku's appearances, there are several other running gags across the Manga and Anime:
** Jashin-chan pointing at Yurine only to be (violently) chided for it.
** Jashin-chan making a pun that nobody (except Yurine) gets.
** Jashin-chan losing a huge sum of money gambling.
** Angels coming to earth and promptly losing their halos.
** Lierre obsessing over childish things, especially the panda ride at the local park which becomes a point of contention in multiple chapters.
** Pekora's manager being the same guy at every job, and never bothering to learn her name.
** Jashin-chan cutting a very thin slice of food for someone and taking a larger slice, only for Yurine to switch the plates when Jashin-chan isn't looking.
** In the anime, Creator/KojiYusa, who voices the narrator devil, gets name dropped at various points, followed by the narrator making a comment about it.
* ShoutOut:
** During one of Medusa's flashbacks where Jashin-''chan'' is bullying a kid, the kid's father shows up and looks like either [[Franchise/DragonBall Goku or Turles]], complete with a Super Saiyan aura, Saiyan armor, and sounding like Creator/MasakoNozawa.
** The movie Jashin-''chan'' has Yurine watch in Season 1 Episode 1 features an [[Franchise/EvilDead Ash Williams lookalike, complete with chainsaw.]]
** After Jashin eats an angel halo she literally turns Super Saiyan as Super Jashin-''chan'', complete with golden BattleAura, [[PowerDyesYourHair glowing spiky golden hair]], and narrowed green eyes.
** Speaking of, in Season 1 Episode 7, Poporon brandishes a rather unique spiked club as a weapon. [[Literature/BludgeoningAngelDokuroChan Wasn’t there another angel who used that exact weapon?]]
** In Season 1 Episode 9, the girls wear masks similar to that of the [[VideoGame/Payday2 PAYDAY Gang’s]].
** In Season 1 Episode 10, Jashin-''chan'' dresses up as [[Manga/CaseClosed Conan Edogawa]], [[Manga/FoodWars Soma Yukihira]], and [[Manga/AttackOnTitan Eren Yeager]].
** At the end of Season 1 Episode 11 and Season 2 Episode 10, Jashin-''chan'' bids farewell to the audience by saying "[[Film/Terminator2JudgmentDay Hasta la vista, baby.]]"
** In the unaired Episode 12 of the first season, Yurine and Beth do a shoutout to ''Film/BrotherhoodOfTheWolf'' of all things, with Yurine even having a sword similar to Jean-Francois de Morangias' whipsword.
** In Season 2 Episode 6, Yurine does Salt Bae's signature pose when preparing Hamburg steaks.
** In Season 2 Episode 7, we see a scene transition in the style of the [[Franchise/TransformersGeneration1 the 1984 Transformers cartoon]] using Jashin-''chan'' and Yurine’s faces...complete with the show’s classic transformation sound effect!
** Episode 5 of ''X'' features a scene parodying an [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11quU3nqkVE infamous]] Japanese UsefulNotes/McDonalds commercial for ''WesternAnimation/SpongeBobSquarePants'' toys, with the children replaced by middle-aged otaku and the toys replaced by Hatsune Miku "iron maiden" toys.
** Episode 6 of ''X'' features a scene parodying the ending of ''Film/Terminator2JudgmentDay'', where Jashin-''chan'' struggles to stay afloat before eventually sinking into the swamp, but not before giving the audience a thumbs up prior to being fully submerged.
** Episode 10 of ''X'' sees Jashin-''chan'' get run over by a truck when crossing the street in a similar manner to the first episode of ''Anime/ZombielandSaga''. Only this time Jashin-''chan'' gets flung into the air while spinning like a wheel and survives instead of getting killed outright, despite the "death" omikuji.
* SmallNameBigEgo: Jashin-''chan'' has a pretty swelled head and repeatedly think she can boss around people. It ends up getting her in trouble on a regular basis.
* SmugSnake: Quite literally. Jashin-''chan'' thinks she on top of everything and a fearsome devil. But at best she's nothing more then a brat and Yurine can deal with her easily.
* SnakePeople: The titular Jashin-''chan'' is one, being a lamia and all.
* StalkerWithACrush: Mei Tachibana, a police woman who keeps trying to bring Jashin-''chan'' home with her.
* StickySituation: Zig-Zagged. In one episode, Jashin-''chan'' leaves a puddle of glue at the door for Yurine to step on. She does, but she takes off her shoes. Jashin-''chan'' however prepared for this, so she left '''another''' puddle of glue, but Yurine takes off her socks as well. This time Jashin-''chan'' did not had a plan to trap her bare feet and Yurine's floors, plus her shoes and socks are ruined, so she cuts Jashin-''chan'' in half.
* TakeThat: The series does not have a flattering perception of idol otaku to say the least. The idol otaku in the series are portrayed as weirdos who overreact to the most trivial of things.
* TalkingIsAFreeAction: {{Lampshade|hanging}}ed in the manga, Jashin-''chan'' frequently delivers a lengthy monologue in panels where she does her signature dropkick, but the time she takes to spit it out gives Yurine the space to counter the attack, which she usually points out with some variant of "you were talking too long".
* TitleDrop: [[spoiler: As Jashin performs her sacrifice to save Jinbocho from the sun falling down, her dropkick is named after the season; ''Jashin-chan Dropkick X''.]]
** At various points in the manga, Jashin is reminded she hasn't done a dropkick in a while, at which point characters will remind her "it ''is'' in the title after all.
* ToiletHumor: When Kori is invited over the first time, Jashin-''chan'' reveals she can make sno-cones that come in two flavors: strawberry and lemon. The strawberry syrup comes from her blood while the lemon...well, there's a reason they call it "yellow snow". Once Yurine is told of this, she ''instantly'' asks for strawberry. Usually whenever someone does ask for lemon, the scene cuts away for a bit before going back and we see Kori or Yusa straightening their kimonos.
* TooDumbToLive: Jashin-''chan'' ''really'' doesn't know when to back off when confronting people stronger then her. More often then not suffering punishments for it. She also constantly talks about her plans to kill Yurine, who is often within earshot of said plans, something she lampshades in ''the very first episode of the show.''
* TortureTechnician: Yurine is a master of torture and subjects Jashin-''chan'' to many if she gets out of line.
* UnusuallyUninterestingSight: None of the residents of the neighborhood ever raise an eyebrow over the [[WalkingShirtlessScene topless]] snake woman frequently slithering about town.
* VillainProtagonist: Jashin-''chan'' is TheProtagonist, but she's clearly not a good person.
* WeaksauceWeakness: Angels lose all their powers and their ability to return to Heaven if they lose their halo. Their halos are both easy to lose and extremely fragile, which causes problems for all three angels who show up in the series.
* WeWantOurJerkBack: Chapter 40 sees Jashin getting hit on the head by a falling pot and suddenly becoming both intelligent and kind. Yurine seems pleased with the arrangement but Medusa is worried and pleads with Yurine to do something to bring the old Jashin back.
* WingdingEyes: Spiral eyes, blank eyes etc. appear very often. However, the spiral eyes could be used a lot.
* WolverinePublicity: Music/HatsuneMiku is featured in ''X'' as a recurring minor character.
