4	The manga follows a college student named Yurine who ends up summoning a lamia devil named Jashin-''chan'' while dabbling in dark arts. Jashin-''chan'' takes offense that a lowly human would dare summon her and tries to kill her. Keyword: "Tries", as Yurine turns out to be extremely formidable and quite proficient in weaponry. And since she summoned Jashin-''chan'' , Jashin-''chan'' can't go back home until Yurine either sends her back (which she doesn't know how to do) or is killed. So begins a rather odd relationship of sorts with Jashin-''chan'' trying every opportunity to off Yurine while some other devils, angels, and even vampires soon get into the mix as well.

A second season, under the title ''Dropkick on my Devil Dash'', aired from April to June 2020. A third season, ''Dropkick on my Devil X'', aired from July to September 2022. Both were subbed for Website/{{Crunchyroll}} instead, though they would later gain the rights to the first season in June 2023. A standalone OriginalVideoAnimation, subtitled ''Apocalypse Arc'', is set for release in December 2023.

This is pointed out in a season 3 ColdOpen, where Jashin-chan sees the special airing on television and freaks out that there's apparently an alternate timeline where they met Lierre earlier, but everyone else ignore this and acts as if nothing is wrong.

However, Yurine didn't actually have a reason for summoning her and merely wanted to try the ritual out which agitates Jashin-chan. 39	* {{Bowdlerize}}: The anime changes a couple instances of guns into other weapons (such as swords) or objects, despite keeping the rest of the BloodyHilarious violence completely intact. This is especially noticeable in the fourth episode of ''X'', where the original gag was that Mei gave Jashin-chan a fake gun that ends up not firing when Jashin tries to use it on Yurine. In the anime it's changed to a figurine of a tsuchinoko, which makes it a lot more questionable that Jashin-Chan wouldn't notice that she doesn't have a real gun. This is zig-zagged though as Mei does end up using a gun several times in the Minamishimabara episode, which is an original story not adapted from the manga.
40	* BrickJoke: Chapter 115 has Jashin-''chan'' gifting Medusa a ninja costume. Come Chapter 140 and Medusa is actually using said costume and even gets a "mission" from Jashin-''chan''. And Chapter 183 has Jashin-''chan'' getting the same thing as birthday gift.
41	* CallingYourAttacks: One instance of Jashin-''chan'' 's surprise dropkick failing is because she announced it aloud for Yurine to hear. Jashin proceeds to blame the Sound Engineer as it was supposed to be an internal monologue.
42	* CelebrityParadox: In episode 5, Jashin-''chan'' and Yurine leave a bookstore and notice a poster with Yurine on it advertising the Dropkick on my Devil anime.

52	** For example she attempted to invite Medusa over so she could turn Yurine to stone. However before, she had asked Yurine if it was alright to invite a friend over. Yurine allowed it and then asked who said friend was. As you can imagine when Yurine heard the name "Medusa", it didn't take much to thwart Jashin-''chan'' 's plan.
53	** Another, Jashin-''chan'' had saw a news report about the mountains and thought up a plan to get Yurine to go hiking in which she would try to kill her by pushing her off a cliff or having bears maul her to death. Just one hitch in her plan, Yurine turned down the offer to go.
54	** One of the more simple ones has Jashin-''chan'' have Medusa bring over a crowbar so she can sneak up on Yurine and bash her head in with it. Only when she went to execute it, she ''yelled at the top of her lungs'' as she was going in for the strike. Yurine countered her easily as a result.
55	** Season 2 Episode 7 has Jashin-''chan'' use glue for Yurine to step on. She does, but she takes off her shoes. Jashin-''chan'' however anticipated this and she left another puddle of glue, but Yurine takes off her socks, which leaves Jashin bewildered. This all ends with Jashin-''chan'' getting [[HalfthemanHeusedtobe cut in half]] by Yurine, [[DisproportionateRetribution as punishment]] for ruining her sock and shoes.
56	* DirtyCop: Mei Tachibana is a police woman who regularly ''steals'' objects she deems cute off the street and brings them back to her home. At one point practically trying to take a display ''right in front of the manager of a store''. She also stalks Jashin-''chan'' and abuses her authority by trying to seduce her, and even tried to kill her [[DisproportionateRetribution for refusing to]] [[IfICantHaveYou go home with her]] (worse, the only thing that stopped her was her shift ending; she did that ''on the clock'' and likely would've gone through with killing Jashin-''chan'' if she had more time).

58	* EdutainmentShow: While not explicitly advertised or marketed as one, the series frequently goes into the history of various foodstuffs and locales, especially in the anime episodes sponsored by local tourism boards where they go into great detail about the an area's background. Devil A also interjects random factoids during scene transitions of the anime, and Minos also has a one-volume spinoff where she explains how various beef dishes are prepared, the history of the dish, the types of cow they come from, and what part of the cow each cut is derived from.

As such she ends up wearing a paper bag on her head when out in public. Yurine is immune to her gaze however due to wearing a special bracelet that prevents her from beeing turned to stone.
70	* HarmlessFreezing: Subverted. Each time Kori and Yusa freeze Jashin-''chan'' , she breaks into pieces upon falling over. Again though, her regeneration keeps her from dying from it. Though likely takes a bit longer since, y'know, being stuck in ice and having to wait for it to melt.
71	* HonorBeforeReason: Pekola, an angel girl, brings a lot of misfortune on herself because she refuses charity form Yurine, thinking her evil just because she associates with Jashin despite being told repeatedly that Yurine isn't. She more expects people ''to'' help her rather then ''ask'' people for help.
72	* IdenticalStranger: In Episode 8 of ''X'', Amakusa Shiro, plus his older and younger sisters are apparently this to Pekola, Poporon, and Pino, respectively. They just happen to know Lierre as well.

Poporon loses hers when Jashin-''chan'' eats it and Pino's ends up destroyed when Poporon German-suplexes her to save Pekora. Then Lierre shows up, and she’s revealed to be a little kid in ''X''.

Upon seeing it her summoner/roommate Yurine thinks to herself that such a power could make a lot of money, but Jashin-''chan'' herself is too dumb to realize it, despite frequently gambling all her money away on pachinko machines.

She also constantly talks about her plans to kill Yurine, who is often within earshot of said plans, something she lampshades in ''the very first episode of the show.''

136	* WeWantOurJerkBack: Chapter 40 sees Jashin getting hit on the head by a falling pot and suddenly becoming both intelligent and kind. Yurine seems pleased with the arrangement but Medusa is worried and pleads with Yurine to do something to bring the old Jashin back.
