[[Franchise/RoboCop Part man, part machine,]] all [[FanPreferredCouple fan-preferred]].

Basically this is fans {{Shipping}} a sentient machine, whether a robot, computer or otherwise, with someone else, usually an organic lifeform or human, or even another machine. Overlapping heavily with FanPreferredCouple, robo ships differ in that the relationship is not sexual in nature and sex should not even be possible for the couple in question ([[SexBot usually]])... And people ship them together anyway due to compatible personalities. Or even despite incompatible personalities.

Remember that {{Robosexual}} is a popular trope all by itself, so in many stories it can be natural to expect a romantic turn sooner or later. Sometimes, writers who emphasize a robot's developing interpersonal relationship can [[PlatonicWritingRomanticReading Fumble]] it up, making friendship or what-have-you seem like something more. RoboShip pairings tend to run into some problems due to WhatMeasureIsANonHuman and FanDumb, so expect the same amount of DieForOurShip as you would with a normal coupling.

Semi-justifiable if the object in question is an InstantAIJustAddWater or RidiculouslyHumanRobot in-as-far as having personality and thinking. Can even end up with a RoboticSpouse.

Compare CargoShip, {{Robosexual}}, RoboRomance. For literal robot ships, you may be looking for SapientShip.

!!Examples:

[[folder:Anime & Manga]]
* The possible relationship between Negi and Chachamaru in ''Manga/NegimaMagisterNegiMagi'' ([[spoiler:They recently had a pactio kiss]]).
** [[spoiler:A really, really long kiss. It went for ''four'' pages. Though this was because Chachamaru, who as a robot at least partially believes she has no soul -- a requirement for the pactio. Negi ends up apparently pushing it through out of sheer will and magical power, though this could have something to do with his heritage (the royal magic his mother had, and that his line established the pactio system).]]
*** [[spoiler:[[WildMassGuessing It's possible that Negi's own soul took the place of hers when his Black Magic kicked in]].]]
* ''Anime/MazingerZ'': Mazinger-Z and Aphrodite A (and later Diana-A). Also, Mazinger-Z and Minerva-X (a sentient FemBot was expressly designed to be Mazinger's BattleCouple). Minerva-X considered matter-of-fact she was Mazinger's partner. ActionGirl Sayaka insisted only HER FemBot -Aphrodite-A- was true's Mazinger partner.
** In ''Anime/GreatMazinger'', Great Mazinger and Venus A.
* For ''Anime/SpaceDandy'', all the existing [[{{Shipping}} shippy]] fanart of Dandy pairs him with his RobotBuddy QT.
* If you check the ''Literature/TrinityBlood'' section of Fanfiction.net, you will see that [[DeceptivelyHumanRobots Tres]] X [[OurVampiresAreDifferent Abel]] is a ''very'' popular pairing.
* Roger and Dorothy in ''Anime/TheBigO''.
* Shugo/Aura in ''Manga/DotHackLegendOfTheTwilight''.
* ''Anime/MobileSuitGundam00'': Gundam Meister Tieria Erde ([[spoiler:an Artificial Human]]) is often paired with, well, [[LauncherOfAThousandShips almost everyone]], but that includes the A.I. supercomputer Veda. Which actually has more canon support than any pairing for him except Tieria/Lockon. There's also Setsuna, who's sometimes paired with his Gundams, but that's more of a CargoShip since they're not sentient.
** Made canon in [[Anime/Gundam00AWakeningOfTheTrailblazer the movie]], where [[spoiler:Mileina admits her love for Tieria, much to her father's dismay]].
* In ''Franchise/{{Digimon}},'' human/Digimon pairings can be seen this way, as Digimon are actually computer programs. It's less {{Squick}}y than in [[Franchise/{{Pokemon}} that other monster show]] because Digimon are clearly sentient.
* Ryuunosuke Natsume and Atsuko Higuchi from ''[[Anime/AllPurposeCulturalCatGirlNukuNuku Nuku Nuku Dash]]''. He's pure human. She is a super powered cyborg with the brain of a cat. Are we sure this isn't actually a demented form of bestiality, instead?
* ''Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion'' has a very strange twist: Gendo/[[spoiler:Unit 01]]. The twist is that [[spoiler:Unit 01 contains his wife's soul, and he is seeking to reunite with her through [[AssimiliationPlot his version of Instrumentality]]]].
* 90% of the shipping in ''Manga/RozenMaiden'' falls either into this category or CargoShip, depending on what you consider the dolls to be.
* ''Anime/TimeOfEve'' has these in both the robot/robot ([[spoiler:Koji/Rina]]) and robot/human ([[spoiler:Rikuo/Sammy]]) varieties, although only the former is official.
* ''VideoGame/{{Medabots}}'': Metabee and Brass, helped by the fact that their Medafighters (Ikki and Arika) are also a FanPreferredCouple.
* Nejikawa and Sapphie of ''Anime/JewelpetSunshine''. It's canon at least on Nejikawa's part.
* Alexis Thi Dang and Starscream in ''Anime/TransformersArmada''. The attraction is there on Alexis's part, but isn't pursued because a) Alexis is a small, fragile, meat-based creature while Starscream is a giant airplane man, and b) they're ''both'' too young for the story to go anywhere with it without getting uncomfortable.[[note]]As Hot Shot's {{foil}}, Starscream is intended to be the newly online rookie who's too arrogant and inexperienced to do much without someone to keep them in line. the difference is, Hot Shot has [[BigGood Optimus Prime]] as a leader and mentor, while [[BadBoss Megatron]] treats Starscream with disdain and could have had a powerful and loyal servant had he not [[KickTheDog beaten and humiliated Starscream so many times]].[[/note]]
* ''Anime/YuGiOhVRAINS'': Fans shipping Yusaku with Ai increased in season 3 after [[spoiler: Ai's [[{{Bishonen}} [=SOLtiS=]]] form]] was revealed. The pairing exploded even more in the final episode after Ai's true motivation for his actions was uncovered.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Comics]]
* Arguably Coagula and Robotman in Rachel Pollack's ''Comicbook/DoomPatrol'' run. Arguable because Cliff has a human mind in a robot body.
* One issue of ''[[ComicBook/SonicTheHedgehogArchieComics Sonic Universe]]'' implies that Omega has a bit of a thing for Blaze, based on them both being [[PersonOfMassDestruction Persons Of Mass Destruction]].
-->"I '''like''' you! Let us burn things together!"
** The pairing of Nicole (an ArtificialIntelligence) and Shard (revamped good Metal Sonic) is quite popular.
* Both the [[Franchise/JusticeLeagueOfAmerica JLA]] and the [[ComicBook/TheAvengers Avengers]] main android members, ComicBook/RedTornado and ComicBook/TheVision respectively, are or have been in the past married to human women.
* Technically, Victor Mancha from ''ComicBook/{{Runaways}}'' is a cyborg, but because his machine parts will eventually override his human parts, he'll be a full machine one day. This hasn't stopped him from hooking up with Nico or a random GirlOfTheWeek in the time travel arc.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Fan Works]]
* While no actual shipping happens in [[http://amalgarn.tumblr.com/post/133093592783/based-on-this-post this]] ''VideoGame/{{Undertale}}'' fancomic, it's clear the idea's occurred to Mettaton:
-->'''Mettaton:''' Ok, but can you fuck it?
-->'''Alphys:''' What kind of idiot would make a robot you ''can't'' fuck?
* A number of ''TabletopGame/Warhammer40000'' fancomics feature relationships between the Adeptus Mechanicus and ''the Necrons'', usually by taking the AdMech's canon worship of the Necrons to entirely unreasonable levels of devotion.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Film — Live-Action]]
* ''Film/TwoThousandOneASpaceOdyssey''. HAL/David Bowman. Squick.
** It gets either more or less squicky in Film/TwoThousandTenTheYearWeMakeContact and the last two books [[spoiler:when Dave rescues HAL's consciousness from Discovery just before Jupiter turns nova, destroying the ship. In the third book, they're shacked up together in the monolith. By the fourth book, they have merged into a single entity referred to as 'Halman.']]
* Common as dirt in ''Franchise/{{Tron}}'' fandom. Justified because ''at least'' half the characters are sentient computer code. There seems to be some downplayed chemistry between Sam and Quorra in ''Film/TronLegacy'', but Kevin Flynn actually kisses Yori in the original. [[note]] The circumstances, however, are a little questionable in the canonical work. Proceed with caution [[/note]] For those who prefer slash, the scenes with Ram and Flynn make a good argument for HoYay. Then there's Yori and Tron, [[RoboRomance the canon couple]], though the fact she's SequelNonEntity come ''Film/TronLegacy'' make a case for Flynn and Tron. A common and ''very'' dark take on this trope is Clu/"Rinzler", as the latter is a brainwashed slave of the former. There's also ''WesternAnimation/TronUprising'', with the DatingCatwoman situation between Beck and Paige and [[ButtMonkey Zed's]] hopeless crush on [[WrenchWench Mara]]. In the AlternateContinuity of ''[[VideoGame/TronTwoPointOh Tron 2.0]]'', there's some ShipTease between Jet (human) and Mercury (Program) and a case to be made for Alan Bradley and [=Ma3a=], given [[spoiler: [=Ma3a=] is a VirtualGhost of his wife]].
* There are seriously people out there who ship the eponymous ''Film/{{Bumblebee}}'', a 16 foot tall robot, and [[GenderBlenderName Charlie]], a 5'8 18 year old human.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Literature]]
* Fanfiction based on Creator/IsaacAsimov's books is not that common, but what exists seems to really like Elijah/Daneel.
* ''Franchise/DoctorWhoExpandedUniverse'' carries on the TARDIS love:
** Along the same lines as the audio ''Zagreus'' below, the short story "The Lying Witch and the Wardrobe" had a jealous TARDIS try to impersonate Romana, the Doctor's then-companion.
** One rather odd Short Trips story suggests Kameleon had sex with the TARDIS and got pregnant.
** Then there's the ''Literature/FactionParadox'' story where the TARDIS's sister accuses the TARDIS of wanting to have a kid with the Doctor. And that's quite apart from the fact said story reveals the TARDIS has parents...
*** Another Faction Paradox story details the fucked-up relationship between the TARDIS "Compassion" and her AxeCrazy [[PsychoPrototype firstborn son]] "Antipathy".
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Live-Action TV]]
* In ''Series/BlakesSeven'' it appears Kerr Avon gets along best with Orac, the resident irritating computer, which has led to some rather interesting speculations. In-universe there is one [[Funny/BlakesSeven excellent]], though mercifully brief, romance scene:
-->'''Orac''': I love you.\
'''Vila''': Orac!\
'''Orac''': My emotions are deeper than the seas of space. One times one is only possible in the ultra-dimensional.\
'''Avon''': Turn Orac off.\
'''Orac''': I love you.\
'''Avon''': ''Off!''
* ''Series/DoctorWho'' has the Doctor and various companions and their part-organic [[SapientShip TARDIS.]]
** Doctor/TARDIS got a bit of ShipTease in the Classic series as an ActorInspiredElement from Tom Baker, who begun the practice of always referring to the TARDIS as "she" and tended to caress its controls very sensually, unlike his more businesslike predecessors. It was then very much made canon in the new series. First, with hints:
--->'''Sarah Jane:''' Does he still stroke bits of the TARDIS?\
'''Rose:''' Yeah! Yeah! He does! I'm like, "Do you two wanna be alone?"
** Then a bit more explicit:
--->'''Eleventh Doctor:''' Look at you. Oh, you sexy thing.
** Eleven says "Thanks, dear" when it gives him a new screwdriver. In series 6, Eleven actually ''kisses'' the front door of the TARDIS when he's reunited with it [[spoiler:in the sickbay of the ghost ship where the missing crew and Rory were being held.]]
** Then properly, with [[spoiler: a human manifestation of the TARDIS kissing and... biting him, and insisting that her name is "Sexy", since that's what he always calls her.]]
--->'''The Doctor:''' She's the TARDIS ... [[spoiler: and she's a woman]]!\
'''Amy:''' Did you wish ''really'' hard?
** Some people started shipping Rory/TARDIS after [[spoiler: the aforementioned human manifestation called him "the pretty one" and briefly shared a telepathic connection with him.]] As it turns out a few episodes later, Rory, the TARDIS and Amy [[spoiler: conceive a child together. All three of them. That's 100% canon now.]] The Doctor is a bit weirded out by it, then proceeds to [[spoiler: marry said child -- long story.]]
** Also, Master/TARDIS.
** Season 10 added more confirmation for Doctor/TARDIS, as well as introducing Bill/TARDIS.
--->'''Bill:''' So the TARDIS has dresses and likes a bit of trouble? Yeah, I think I'm low-key in love with her.\
'''The Doctor:''' Me too.
** There's a few three-way fics of Doctor×female Companion×TARDIS.
** One fic had the Threesome of the TARDIS, the statue of Aneurin Bevan in the pedestrianised bit of Cardiff city centre (it was wearing Captain Jack's coat, and the fic was unclear as to whether or not it was channelling his spirit) and the [[Literature/HarryPotter Weasleys' Ford Anglia.]]
** TARDIS/[[Series/{{Supernatural}} Impala]] also happens to be a popular ship
** There's also an occasional CrackPairing of Doctor's TARDIS/Master's TARDIS.
** ''Series/RedDwarf'' crossover "Incompatable": K9×Skutter.
** The "WebAnimation/ScreamOfTheShalka" continuity depicts the Doctor living with a robotic version of the Master, and they seem to be ''extremely'' fond of each other. Also, the TARDIS's [[FunnyAnsweringMachine answering machine message]] comes across as having been recorded while they were engaging in hanky-panky. A good bit of the popularity of "WebAnimation/ScreamOfTheShalka" has to do with the ship.
* ''Series/{{Eureka}}'' has [[RidiculouslyHumanRobot Sheriff Andy]] and [[CoolHouse SARAH]] seeing each other, after SARAH got a hold of an emotional subroutine and gave it to Andy.
** There were also the brief, bittersweet moments between Henry and the [[OrganicTechnology biological computer]] version of his dead girlfriend.
* ''Series/KamenRiderZeroOne''[='s=] protagonist [[HonestCorporateExecutive Aruto Hiden]] and his [[RidiculouslyHumanRobots HumaGear]] secretary Is have a hilarious BokeAndTsukkomiRoutine, compatible dorky personalities, and an UndyingLoyalty to one another. Getting shippy feelings when they demonstrate how fiercely protective they are of each other's well-being is not exactly an unreasonable reaction. In fact, Is gets jealous when a girl hugs Aruto.
* The original ''Series/KnightRider'' has Michael Knight bickering with his sentient car like they're an old married couple. KITT tends to worry after him and micromanage like an overprotective girlfriend, too.
* ''Series/LegendsOfTomorrow'' has hinted at a ship between Rip Hunter and the sentient AI that operates his timeship the ''Waverider'', Gideon. Confirmed in the episode "[[Recap/LegendsOfTomorrowS2E13LandOfTheLost Land of the Lost]]" when Gideon creates a human-looking avatar of herself and she and Rip share TheBigDamnKiss.
** There's also Gideon/Sara, as when Sara sees Gideon's avatar she calls her hot.
* In ''Series/MysteryScienceTheater3000'' half the cast are robots, and the fans have plenty of pairings to chose from, particularly Tom Servo and Crow.
* ''Series/PersonOfInterest'' occasionally hints at Root and artificial superintelligence The Machine being not entirely platonic.
-->'''Root''': You have the relationship with her that you wanted. My relationship is more... intimate.\
'''Harold''': Sorry I asked.
* To this day, ''Series/StarTrekTheNextGeneration'''s Data and Yar are still very popular. Or [[HoYay Data and Geordi,]] [[YaoiFangirl if you swing that way.]] Or TakeAThirdOption and go with [[OneTrueThreesome all three of them]].
** Or for those who want a straight ship, but don't want to set it when Yar was alive, there's always Data/Troi as well. Or heck, you could just go with [[CargoShip Data/Enterprise]]…
* ''Series/StarTrekVoyager'' has Seven of Nine/the Doctor. It's canon that the Doctor had a crush on Seven, but not that it was reciprocated - she officially ends up with Chakotay.
* John Connor and [[RobotGirl Cameron]] in ''Series/TerminatorTheSarahConnorChronicles''.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Music]]
* Nastya Rasputina of Music/TheMechanisms is in a relationship with their sentient starship, Aurora. The other crew members (Jonny especially) are a bit squicked-out by this, but the engineer and her girlfriend are perfectly happy together.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Pinball]]
* Appears in ''VideoGame/MadDaedalus'' as the relationship between the ancient Greek inventor Daedalus and Ariadne, the ArtificialIntelligence from a crashed spaceship he found. His ultimate goal is to repair Ariadne so the two of them can travel the universe together.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Radio & Audio]]
* One of the ''AudioPlay/BigFinishDoctorWho'' audios, ''Zagreus'', had fun with this idea -- the TARDIS appears as a personification in the form of Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart and announces it is betraying the Doctor after what it feels has been gross mistreatment. Later on, this personification fires at a trio of companions with its handgun whilst shouting about them "leaving their dirty knickers all over the place". If there was still an "I'm not making this up" page the link would go here.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Toys]]
* This is pretty much the only way to go when shipping in the ''Toys/{{Bionicle}}'' fandom, since until 2009 ''every'' character was more or less a robot (and even after that point, only ''one'' character was female, so...). As far as canon is concerned, NoHuggingNoKissing is in full effect owing to universal asexuality, but with so much early source material contradicting this, [[{{Fanon}} no-one ever cares about]] [[WordOfGod that]]. Popular ships, many of which originate from said early source material, include [[HugeGuyTinyGirl Hewkii x Macku]], [[BodyguardCrush Jaller x Hahli]], [[NotBloodSiblings Tahu x Gali]], and [[HoYay Pohatu x Kopaka]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Video Games]]
* [=GLaDOS=]/Chell, ''VideoGame/{{Portal}}'', which tends to accompany fan interpretations of [=GLaDOS=] as a PsychoLesbian {{Yandere}} computer.
** As of the sequel, Wheatley/Chell have gotten a healthy dose of this as well--not to mention [[HandsomeLech Rick the Adventure Sphere]].
** Atlas and P-body of ''VideoGame/{{Portal 2}}'''s co-operative play mode get a lot of this too. Given [[http://portalwiki.asshatter.org/index.php/File_GI_58_bots.html this picture]], and being another of those games with hug gesture, Creator/{{Valve|Software}} may be invoking this deliberately.
** Crossover version in ''VideoGame/{{Poker Night 2}}'', where [[VideoGame/{{Borderlands}} Claptrap]] appears to have a crush on [=GLaDOS=], even giving her a rose in a [=PS3=] crossover wallpaper.
--->'''Claptrap:''' (''upon seeing [=GLaDOS=] for the first time'') "Hubba hubba!"
** A few CrossoverShip versions of this exist as well, shipping [=GLaDOS=] with other [[AIIsACrapshoot insane sentient computers]]. Popular ones include [=GLaDOS=]/[[VideoGame/SystemShock SHODAN]], and [=GLaDOS=]/[[VideoGame/{{Marathon}} Durandal]]. ''Webcomic/{{Xkcd}}'' even [[https://xkcd.com/375/ pairs her up]] with [[Film/TwoThousandOneASpaceOdyssey HAL 9000]].
* ''Franchise/{{Persona}}'':
** Aigis and the Protagonist from ''VideoGame/{{Persona 3}}'', as she "always wants to be by your [the protagonist's] side." [[SingleTargetSexuality Protagonist's gender irrelevant.]]
** Meanwhile, her sister Labrys in ''VideoGame/Persona4Arena'' is frequently paired up with Teddie in fanfiction and fan art because of their knight/princess dynamic that was present in every storyline in the first game, which was made acknowledged even by their interactions in [[VideoGame/BlazBlueCrossTagBattle the crossover game they appeared in]].
* ''Franchise/MegaMan'':
** [[VideoGame/MegaManClassic Roll and Bass/Forte.]] It's just dang CUTE. And not only that, the apparent ages of the two make it something of a ToyShip as well. Hitoshi Ariga's ''[[Manga/MegaManMegamix Megamix]]'' manga even made it canon for that particular continuity. It's only problem: it also is FoeYayShipping, since Roll is a Light robot, and Forte is a Wily robot that hates Mega Man, who is Roll's brother.
** ''VideoGame/MegaManX'' has the X/Zero ship, which can be considered pretty close to canon due to the fact that the two are both already best friends.
*** After ''[[VideoGame/MegaManX7 X7]]'', fans began shipping Axl with X and Zero, forming a OneTrueThreesome.
*** A canonical (and plot-important) example comes from Zero/Iris in ''[[VideoGame/MegaManX4 X4]]'', which is also {{implied|LoveInterest}} in the chronologically earlier ''[[VideoGame/MegaManXtreme2 Xtreme 2]]''. It infamously ends in tragedy: [[spoiler:Repliforce's coup and subsequent branding as Mavericks leaves Iris's brother dead despite her best attempts to mediate, leading the poor girl to go mad with grief and install Colonel's battle data ([[MySkullRunnethOver which is dangerously incompatible with her systems]]) in order to avenge him, in turn forcing Zero to retire his mentally unstable girlfriend, [[DiedInYourArmsTonight who dies in his arms]].]] [[ILetGwenStacyDie This trauma]] presumably is a major factor in how Layer, one of the Navigators introduced in ''[[VideoGame/MegaManX8 X8]]'', winds up being a HopelessSuitor for Zero, though Zero's [[ObliviousToLove cluelessness about her interest in him]] doesn't help.
*** Shipping X with his MissionControl and, when playable, DistaffCounterpart, Alia, is far from uncommon. Rare moments of ShipTease suggest Alia has at least a one-sided crush on X.
** Ciel and Zero of ''VideoGame/MegaManZero''. It's canon, on the ''former's'' part, that is...
*** As if that's not enough, ''[[VideoGame/MegaManZero4 Zero 4]]'' introduces us to Craft and Neige. Unlike the [[OneSidedShipping ship above]], it's canon on ''both'' sides. ''And'' a very important part of the game's plot.
*** While it's never made clear how truly interested they are in Zero, [[EliteFour the Four Guardians]]--with the notable exception of [[TheStoic Phantom]]--''do'' seem to enjoy battling him [[BloodKnight quite a bit]]. Perhaps it's hereditary, seeing as the Guardians were created from X's DNA. On that note, [[OppositeSexClone Fairy Leviathan]] takes things a bit further [[FoeRomanceSubtext by teasing and openly flirting with Zero]], a dynamic that carries on to their {{Soul Jar}}s, [[VideoGame/MegaManZX Model Z and Model L]].
*** Minor [[LaResistance Resistance]] NPC Andrew shares his backstory with Zero in [[VideoGame/MegaManZero1 the first game]], revealing himself to be the robot half of one of these. Having fallen in love with a human woman [[RoboticSpouse he eventually married]], Andrew even made sure to periodically change his appearance to match hers (as Reploids don't physically age as humans do) and kept his elderly form as a way to remember her after her passing.
*** Elpizo, the [[TheParagonAlwaysRebels eventual]] BigBad of ''[[VideoGame/MegaManZero2 Zero 2]]'' can be interpreted as harboring romantic feelings for Ciel, which persist after his FaceHeelTurn. At the very least, he holds her in high regard--a stark contrast to [[FantasticRacism his views]] [[HumansAreTheRealMonsters on humans in general]].
** Prairie, TheCaptain of the Guardians in ''VideoGame/MegaManZX'', is suggested to have pined for fellow Reploid Giro because [[LovingAShadow he reminded her of someone she knew in the past]]. (Giro, for those not in the know, is an {{Expy}} of Zero, even resembling him to a degree and being in possession of Model Z.) [[spoiler:Considering it's all but stated Prairie is an older version of Alouette, Ciel's KidSidekick from the ''Zero'' series, the question is raised if Alouette harbored a PrecociousCrush on Zero despite implicitly being a ShipperOnDeck for Ciel/Zero.]]
* Fans tend to think of Curly and [[spoiler:Quote]] from ''VideoGame/CaveStory'' as a BattleCouple.
* ''Franchise/MassEffect'':
** Joker/EDI, which is even alluded to [[VideoGame/MassEffect2 in-game]] ("I think you're taking the human-machine interface a little far"). In ''VideoGame/MassEffect3'' this pairing [[spoiler:can become ''canon'' when encouraged by Shepard]].
** Shepard/Legion, which is partially supported by the fact that Legion, despite being a robotic MindHive with no real emotions, seems to somehow ''fanboy'' over Shepard.
** There's also [[http://masseffect.kikaimegami.com/Legion/Snuggles02.png Tali/Legion.]]
** Technically applies to [[spoiler:''everyone'' in the Galaxy after the Synthesis Ending]].
* This was inevitable for [[RidiculouslyHumanRobot Lamia Loveless]] of ''VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsAdvance'' (and subsequently ''[[VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsOriginalGeneration Original Generation]]''). When given an option between male and female player characters, it's tradition for fans to ship them with each other, and thus Axel/Lamia was born. Fans will ship her with anyone they can find in order to [[WhatIsThisThingYouCallLove teach her how to love]]. One would think that the writers were [[BriarPatching encouraging this]] by giving her the last name "Loveless". Of course, the catch is, usually they keep their attitudes as professional as possible and Axel's designated pair is usually Alfimi, while Lamia gets dragged to whoever is hyper enough to make fun of her overly serious attitude (Excellen, or her sister Aschen).
* Big Al from the ''Franchise/RatchetAndClank'' series is shown to have a crush on [[BrawnHilda Helga]], [[IsThisThingStillOn accidentally professing his love for the fembot over the intercom]] on the ''Phoenix''. The fact that he [[AnArmAndALeg upgrades himself with cybernetics]] after [[spoiler:a blaster shot to the butt]] in ''VideoGame/RatchetDeadlocked'' has lead some fans to theorize that perhaps he installed a "robotic interface" along with the new arm and half-head.
* [[Fanfic/TroubleRustypaperclip Butch Deloria and Chief Harkness]] from ''VideoGame/Fallout3''.
* ''VideoGame/FalloutNewVegas'' gives us a semi-canon example: [[PlayerCharacter The Courier]] (gender irrelevant) and the Stealth Suit MK II, as the stealth suit is quite infatuated with the Courier. (For example, injecting him/her with a stimpak when he/she is hurt, saying "Please take this. I don't want you to die", or "Would you love me if I helped you hide?")
* A popular pairing in the ''VideoGame/Fallout4'' fandom is Sole Survivor and Nick Valentine, the synth detective who helps you track down your son--odd, considering he's got glowing yellow eyes and missing a good chunk of grayish 'skin', but not completely unsurprising, since he's also a NiceGuy DeadpanSnarker badass who stays useful in a firefight or hacking terminals. Sadly, he's not romanceable in the game, due to a combination of being a synth and being programmed with memories of [[TheLostLenore his murdered fiancee, Jennifer Lands]]. X6-88, an Institute-aligned synth, is also popular in the fandom, despite also being un-romanceable.
** Of course, there's also canonical robotic romance partners, like Curie or [[spoiler:Paladin Danse]], though it's debatable, since they're both third-generation Synths, blurring the line between RidiculouslyHumanRobot and ArtificialHuman.
* Seto and [[spoiler:Crow]] from ''VideoGame/FragileDreamsFarewellRuinsOfTheMoon'' are a popular couple after [[spoiler:Crow steals Seto's first kiss]]. The reveal that [[spoiler:Crow]] is an android doesn't seem to phase anyone.
* A romantic relationship between Alisa Bosconovitch and Lars Alexandersson is pretty heavily hinted at in ''[[VideoGame/{{Tekken}} Tekken 6]]'''s main story, which continues on to ''[[DreamMatchGame Tag Tournament 2]]'' and especially ''[[VideoGame/Tekken7 7]]'' (complete with Lee Chaolan seemingly [[ShipperOnDeck casting his lot with the pair]]). Meanwhile, the film ''Anime/TekkenBloodVengeance'' launched an [[HoYay Alisa/Xiaoyu]] ship.
* Canon in the third season of ''VideoGame/SamAndMaxFreelancePolice''. May also qualify as a CargoShip, since it's between Curt, a sentient computer, and Carol, a questionably-sentient scanner. She later dumps him for Bluster Blaster, a sentient arcade machine.
-->'''Curt:''' I just want her to be happy.
-->'''Sam:''' Hey, who needs her, am I right?
-->'''Curt:''' You shut your mouth. She was an angel. Designed in California and manufactured in Heaven.
* ''VideoGame/{{Xenosaga}}'' has its protagonist Shion Uzuki with [[RobotGirl KOS-MOS]], which for most of the series, is heavily supported by the [[HoYay Les Yay]] between the two of them, most obviously that the more influence Shion has over KOS-MOS's design [[{{Stripperiffic}} the more revealing her outfits are]]. Additionally, their interactions often delve into PseudoRomanticFriendship territory, especially in the third game where it's revealed that part of the BigBad's plan involved manipulating events that would cause the two of them to grow closer together to awaken [[spoiler:the soul sealed in KOS-MOS]]--the success of which adds even more ShipTease to a pair that had been getting a ton throughout the whole game.
* ''Franchise/{{Halo}}'', with Master Chief and Cortana, which gets some bittersweet fulfillment in ''VideoGame/{{Halo 4}}''.
* Despite not being even slightly canon, the ''VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys'' fandom is gushing with this trope. The most popular ships seem to be Foxy/Chica, Foxy/Mangle,and Springtrap/Mangle, though there are plenty of ships as well.
** However, FanDumb and shipping wars are both in effect here. Many people use the fact that the characters are robots as a reason that they probably shouldn't be shipped. On top of that, many are also {{squick}}ed out by it, too, since after all, 11/12 of the robots are [[spoiler:possessed by the souls of murder victims, all of whom happen to be ''[[ToyShip children]]''. The 12th robot, meanwhile, is possessed by an adult. Never mind that this is essentially pedophilia, since the adult in question is [[FoeYayShipping the same person who murdered the aforementioned children]]]].
*** [[spoiler: There is one Springtrap ship that its shippers don't consider as pedophilia and, as such, not {{Squick}}: Springtrap/Ballora. According to it's shippers, Ballora is possessed by William Afton's wife. (EveryoneKnowsThat William himself canonically possesses Springtrap.) There are some pieces of evidence towards it. This ship basically makes all Aftons (save for Michael, who is a RenevantZombie, though which one of the Afton Boys he is is ambiguous) be robots, since William's daughter, Elizabeth, canonically possesses Circus Baby.]]
* The ''VideoGame/{{Marathon}}'' fandom may be tiny but the bulk of what little shipping there is involves the Security Officer and Durandal and is somewhat supported by Durandal occasionally coming across as being rather {{tsundere}} and/or possessive towards the player character.
* In the web original game ''VideoGame/GuardianRock'' it is stated in the end that the titular rock gets together with a [[GhostShipping hot spirit block chick named Greta]].
--> "They lived normally with good times and bad, cosy candlelit evenings and occasional quarrels, for the rest of their eternal lives."

[[folder:Visual Novels]]
* Given their disparate personalities, it should come as no surprise to a player of ''VisualNovel/{{Analogue|AHateStory}}'' that [[MultipleEndings one of two]] such pairings could become canon. [[spoiler:[[MarryThemAll Or both of them]]]].
* Although it doesn't really go anywhere, Takeshi/Sora from ''VisualNovel/{{Ever17}}'' almost counts ("almost" because Sora is a [[ProjectedMan hologram]], rather than a robot). [[spoiler:Kaburaki/Sora from [[AudioAdaptation Drama CDs]]]] plays this straight, as [[spoiler:she has acquired a robot body by that time]].
* ''Franchise/{{Danganronpa}}'':
** ''VisualNovel/Danganronpa2GoodbyeDespair'' has the implied pairing of [[spoiler:Hajime Hinata and Chiaki Nanami; the former didn't learn the latter was an artificial intelligence until well into the game. Chiaki's still sentient enough to have genuine feelings for him, especially if you max out their Free Time Events. She's also aware that Hajime will have to leave her behind in the simulation one day, and can only ask him to not forget her once he wakes up in the real world.]]
** Keebo from ''VisualNovel/DanganronpaV3KillingHarmony'' is a robot, so any ship involving him qualifies. He gets a lot of subtext with Miu Iruma.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Web Animation]]
* The Lopez-Sheila-Caboose freaky love triangle from ''WebAnimation/RedVsBlue'', as Lopez is a robot and Sheila is a sentient tank. [[spoiler:Tex and Church]] also qualify.
* ''WebAnimation/{{RWBY}}'' has the fairly popular ship of Ruby and [[RobotGirl Penny]], aka [[IdiosyncraticShipNaming Nuts and Dolts]]. The two of them develop a close relationship over volumes 2 and 3 to the point that Penny considers slipping away from her superiors to stay with Ruby at Beacon. Lindsay (Ruby's voice actress) has voiced her support for the ship as well.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Webcomics]]
* ''Webcomic/QuestionableContent'' has [[http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=1658 Sven and Momo-tan]].
** Not to mention [[http://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=3341 Faye and Bubbles]], although so far it's only wishful thinking on Claire's part. [[http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=3660 Amanda and Evie]] seem to think it's a good idea as well. And eventually, the author decided to just quit with the teasing and [[http://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=3745 make it so]].
* ''Webcomic/{{Homestuck}}'': [[spoiler: Aradia, as a CuteGhostGirl possessing a robot body,]] combines this with GhostShipping, at least until [[spoiler: her robot body explodes.]] Interestingly enough, being a robot actually made her relationship more convenient, as her boyfriend has a major case of DoesNotKnowHisOwnStrength.
** Some people ship Roxy with Dirk's [[BrainUploading Auto-responder]] because they "ironically [=FlirtLARP=]."
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Western Animation]]
* ''Franchise/{{Transformers}}'' has many, most involving the "male" Transformers. Daniel/Arcee can be seen by some as a near-canon [[MayflyDecemberRomance Ship]], with the ending three-parter having them nearly inseparable, missing each other if apart for a short time, and the exchange where he's ''hugging'' one of her consoles as best he can during a textbook IUhYouToo:
-->'''Daniel:''' It's good to be together again. Arcee, I just wanna say... Arcee, I... I...
-->'''Arcee:''' [Touching the part of her head where Daniel is, ''not'' for the first time since he started riding shotgun there] You don't have to, Daniel. I feel the same way, too.
** If it weren't a [[InterspeciesRomance giant robot woman]] and a [[NoYay ten-year-old human boy]], it would be taken without question as the day the OfficialCouple got their RelationshipUpgrade, but, well, ''they are.'' Most fans HandWave it away as a [[PlatonicWritingRomanticReading fumbled]] effort at establishing their mother-son relationship.
** There's also ''Kiss Players'', a manga with three robot/human couples. The fact that all three of the female human characters in question are drawn to look prepubescent despite ostensibly being teenagers is a source of much {{Squick}}.
** [[Film/TransformersFilmSeries Movie]] fandom has Bumblebee/Sam. Mikaela has also been shipped with Optimus Prime or Bumblebee. Optimus Prime/Cade Yeager is also another ship from the live action series.
** For ''Film/{{Bumblebee}}'' fandom, it's Bumblebee/Charlie (not helped by the fact much of the imagery the two share seems to be reminiscent of ''Film/TheShapeOfWater'', a love story between a woman and a FishPerson). ''Film/TransformersRiseOfTheBeasts'' has Noah/Mirage.
** ''WesternAnimation/TransformersAnimated'' has [[ToyShip Bumblebee/Sari]]. It looks like a human/machine pairing at first, [[spoiler: [[RoboticReveal but]] [[SubvertedTrope she turns out to be a]] [[RobotGirl Cybertronian Protoform]] with a Human as her alt mode]]...
** All {{Shipping}} of the Transformers with each other in general involves this by default. There were some {{Official Couple}}s between some of the male Autobots and their female counterparts in [[WesternAnimation/TheTransformers the original cartoon]] (Optimus Prime and Elita One, Ironhide and Chromia, Inferno and Firestar, and Powerglide and Moonracer), but much of the rest of the franchise goes with NoHuggingNoKissing. The [[ComicBook/TheTransformersIDW first]] IDW continuity also has several prominent same-sex couples such as Chromedome/Rewind, Tailgate/Cyclonus, and Arcee/Aileron.
** And of course, the Generation 1 episode "[[Recap/TransformersG1TheGirlWhoLovedPowerglide The Girl Who Loved Powerglide]]". It features a SlapSlapKiss relationship between a grouchy A-10 and a WalkingTechbane GirlOfTheWeek with a MacGuffin the bad guys wanted. (Note that this episode takes place ''after'' it was established that Powerglide was with Moonracer. Awkward.)
** The [[Website/TFWikiDotNet Transformers Wiki]] has an [[http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Transformer_romance article]] on the subject. It's actually quite common in {{Canon}}.
** ''WesternAnimation/TransformersPrime'' gives us this exchange with [[AmazinglyEmbarrassingParents Jack's mother June]]:
--> '''June''': So, where's Optimus?
--> '''Ratchet''': On a scouting mission with Bumblebee. Sorry to disappoint.
--> '''June''': And I wore heels and everything...
--> '''Jack''': '''[[BrainBleach MOM!]]'''
* Brainiac 5/Superman are a popular ship on the ''WesternAnimation/LegionOfSuperheroes'' cartoon. Brainy's [[UnwinnableTrainingSimulation simulation of]] himself dying in Supes' arms to melodramatic music (also programmed in, apparently) might have [[HoYay something to do with]] it.
* Zeta/Ro, according to 99% of the ''WesternAnimation/TheZetaProject'' fandom. When that's not in play, expect for Zeta to still fall for someone or have romantic feelings to play up the WhatMeasureIsANonHuman. In addition, fan wank has produced the [[EpilepticTrees theory]] that he may have been in love with the wife of the man he impersonated in his debut [[WesternAnimation/BatmanBeyond episode]].
* InUniverse example with Jimmy and [[RobotMe Schmeloise]] in one episode of ''WesternAnimation/JimmyTwoShoes''. Much to the anger of Heloise and ''many, many'' Jimmy[=/=]Heloise shippers (which is understandable considering how much of a {{Jerkass}} [[OutOfCharacterMoment Jimmy was being to Heloise in the episode]]).
* Octus and Kimmy in ''WesternAnimation/SymBionicTitan''. Where the cheerleader, [[AlphaBitch Kimmy]], falls for the alien robot disguised as a nerd.
* ''WesternAnimation/TimeSquad'': [[HoYay Buck Tuddrussel and Larry 3000]]. Sometimes it seemed like the ''writers'' shipped it.
* During the ''WesternAnimation/{{Motorcity}}'' finale, when the fans were asking Creator/{{Titmouse}} animator [=McKenzie=] Kerman for an OfficialCouple, he declared [[http://peopleofmotorcity.tumblr.com/post/39912575544/pom-has-declared-that-roth-and-cyborg-dan "R.O.T.H. and Cyborg Dan]].
* ''WesternAnimation/GreenLanternTheAnimatedSeries'' has [[KnightInSourArmor Razer]] and [[SpaceshipGirl Aya]].
** This actually became canon in the series. Second arc episodes attempted to explore their relationship, but, well, we all know how well any sort of romance turns out in regards to DC and Marvel superheroes...
* ''WesternAnimation/MyLifeAsATeenageRobot'': Fans are torn between those who ship Jenny/[[UnfazedEveryman Brad]] or Jenny/[[{{Robosexual}} Sheldon]], but both are Robo Ships nonetheless, since Jenny's a robot. WordOfGod confirmed that the latter would have become official if the show had lasted longer.
* Cyborg from ''WesternAnimation/TeenTitans'' is by far the least shipped major character, which could be due to him being part robot. Early in the fandom many shipped him with either teammate Raven or villain Jinx; however, the fandom soon gravitated towards shipping him in a SlapSlapKiss relationship with Bumblebee instead, despite the fact WordOfGod said their intentions were the opposite.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Futurama}}'': Fry and Bender are a ship of choice amongst fans of SlashFic. Not helping is Bender's HoYay towards Fry (which happens more frequently than you might expect).
** Scruffy the Janitor was revealed to be in a StarCrossedLovers-type relationship with his robot washbucket in one episode.
* If Website/DeviantArt fan art is anything to go by, [[GreenSkinnedSpaceBabe Mira]] and XR seems to be a popular pairing in the ''WesternAnimation/BuzzLightyearOfStarCommand'' fandom.
