%% ->''"Oh, a "fun size" candy bar? Tell me this: what's fun about eating less candy? Maybe if you gave me an entire bag of them it would be fun."''%% —>— '''Strong Bad''', ''WebAnimation/HomestarRunner''

Want to make something cuter? Just make it smaller. Look at [[CuteKitten kittens]] and [[PreciousPuppies puppies]]. Don't you just want to hug and squeeze them [[AndCallHimGeorge and call them George]]? Okay, perhaps not that far, but they are cute. And it's not merely being smaller, but also having a "rounder" shape than adult dogs and cats, and usually having bigger eyes.

Naturally, this is used in certain character designs to achieve a [[{{UsefulNotes/Kawaisa}} cute effect]]. Take how in [[ComicBooks Comics]], {{Anime}} and {{Manga}}, younger characters have bigger eyes. This can be seen in shows where we see a character grow from childhood to adulthood. Some even have normal eyes when they're past their mid-20s.

In anime and manga the most common method of making something cute is the SuperDeformed look (a.k.a. "Chibi").

In some cases however, it's primarily done to cram a recognizable variation of the character into a smaller space, such as a map screen, and the cuteness is just a bonus.

Fun Size characters frequently take the form of {{Ridiculously Cute Critter}}s, and may be SpinoffBabies or SleepModeSize versions of normal-sized characters.

[[TropeNamers The trope's title]] is from 'Fun-sized' candy bars, the smallest size typically seen as [[UsefulNotes/AllHallowsEve Halloween]] treats. It has nothing to do with the [[Film/FunSize Nickelodeon movie]]. Don't confuse either with BigFun, which is an opposite trope of sorts to this.

[[folder:Anime and Manga]]
* ''Anime/TheAdventuresOfMiniGoddess'' was designed specifically for and around this trope.
* In the (non-canon) Pilot Chapter of ''Manga/{{Bleach}}'', a side-effect of Rukia transferring her powers to Ichigo was being shrunk down to a small enough scale that she could comfortably take a bath in Ichigo's coffee mug.
* ''Manga/CellsAtWorkPlatelets'': Justified. The main reason the Platelets are portrayed as small children compared to other cells is because ''actual'' platelets are physically far smaller than any other kind of blood cell.
* The laptop-model Persocoms in Manga/{{Chobits}}! Sumomo (aka Plum; there's a little debate as to whether or not the name should be translated) is smaller than your forearm but several times as cute as human-sized Chii. Her CheerfulChild personality adds to it, though Kotoko is also insanely cute despite her quite serious personality.
* Beta Mechazawa from ''Manga/CromartieHighSchool''.
* [=MarineAngemon=] is definitely Franchise/{{Digimon}}'s take on this trope. Also, this [[http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa6/Calibremon/Kapurimon.jpg Kapurimon]] is one of the third-grade-equivalent students at a school in one episode of ''Anime/DigimonFrontier.'' (He's existed in other media for much longer, and it appeared briefly in Anime/DigimonTamers.) In-Training level Digimon are almost always toothachingly cute. (But if he hits you with his tail, you ''will'' feel it.)
* ''Manga/DragonQuestTheAdventureOfDai'':
** [[PintsizedPowerhouse Dai]] is one head shorter than his human companions, who are roughly around the same height. This is definitely PlayedForLaughs when he purchases and dons a full-body armor, which looks presentable on a regular-sized adult but nearly buries him in it. Leona bursts into hearty laughter at the sight of him in said full-body armor, while Popp reacts with StunnedSilence.
** [[TeamPet Chu, a reformed mouse monster]], is one head shorter than ''Dai''. This becomes HypocriticalHumor when he, upon meeting Dai for the first time, calls Dai "short".
* PlayedForDrama in Chapter 40 of ''Manga/FrankenFran''. [[CainAndAbel Veronica]] gets cut in half by Gavrill, and Fran has to make a a smaller version of her body with the very few parts that were still left. This is unfortunate for Veronica, but [[AirVentPassageway does come in handy later]].
* ''Literature/HaruhiSuzumiya'':
** ''Manga/HaruhiChan'' is this to Haruhi Suzumiya.
** Tsuruya-san was cute enough already, with her {{cute little fang|s}} and speech impediment and her GenkiGirl personality. However, [[http://danbooru.donmai.us/wiki/show?title=eretto someone]] then had to make [[MemeticMutation Churuya...]]
** And tiny Asakura. (Achakura)
* Lumiere of ''Anime/KiddyGrade'' has the ability to create cute, miniature search subroutines. When Tweedledee sees this, she remarks on how cute they are, and creates her own version.
* ''Manga/LuckyStar Pocket Travelers'', which takes the already quite {{moe}} cast and inexplicably shrinks them. HilarityEnsues.
* ''Franchise/LyricalNanoha'': The puppy and chibi forms of Arf and Zafira's first attempt at using the former in the [[AllThereInTheManual third Sound Stage of the second season]] earned him many squealing, cuddle-happy girls, much to his annoyance.
** In the same vein, Reinforce is a lean, mean, living killer machine. Reinforce Zwei, on the other hand, is a 6-inch tall, supremely cute and flat chested. However, she still carries a large dose of ass kicking (when properly...ahem, "used", since she's still technically a ''living weapon''). Although Zwei can "upsize" to roughly Vita's size, as mentioned in the Sound Stages and demonstrated visually in ''Force'' (the mana drain from having a larger body makes it impractical for combat situations, so she mostly only uses it while off duty). The same thing applies to Agito.
* The opening to ''Anime/{{Macross}}'' in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOLsKEXu02g chibi form.]]
* VideoGame/{{Medabots}}. Full-powered combat robots... in a three-foot tall package (well, except for that one that Ikki disabled in one episode, that qualified as a HumongousMecha). Did I mention that Medabots are kid's toys?
** [[MyLittlePanzer With functioning MISSILES AND LASER CANNONS]].
* In ''Anime/MiniMoniTheMovieOkashiNaDaiboken'', the fairies' spell shrinks Mini Moni and Takahashi into chibi versions of themselves. [[spoiler:This also happens to Queen Nakajalinu when she eats cake.]]
* ''Manga/NegimaMagisterNegiMagi'' has Chibi-Setsuna, the adorable shikigami Setsuna pulls out when she has to accompany someone but needs to be somewhere else at the same time.
** Aisaka Sayo also counts when she is possessing the Voodoo doll.
** There are also the [[FountainOfYouth magic de-aging pills]] that allow the girls to turn themselves into lolis. Chisame in particular says that she prefers her "Chibi-Chiu" form to her normal self.
* ''[[Anime/PetitEva Petit Eva Evangelion @ School]]'' is an official chibi spoof of ''Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion''
* In ''Manga/OnePiece'', Luffy turns chibi for a time after using Gear Third.
** Played with in that one time that Buggy the Clown [[spoiler: failed to assemble all of his Bara Bara Parts]]
* The main plot of Episode 8 of ''VideoGame/{{Onigiri}}''.
* The chibi episodes in ''Anime/ThePrinceOfTennis''.
* ''[[Anime/ProjectAKo Project A-ko: Uncivil Wars]]'' has Maruten.
* All the comedy around Hagimura Suzu from ''Manga/SeitokaiYakuindomo'' seems to be this, too.
* Shana-tan from the ''Literature/ShakuganNoShana'' omake.
* In ''Manga/SoulEater'', Medusa possesses the body of a little girl, and twists her appearance into a copy of her original one. Uses the cuteness to her advantage in the manga when she [[SelfRestraint got herself imprisoned]] by Shibusen (similar in the anime, but the reaction isn't quite the same). Usually looks cute in this form, but not always.
** Also, after Maka [[spoiler:[[DefeatMeansFriendship befriends Crona rather than defeating him/her in combat]], Ragnarok shrinks down to fun size and becomes mostly comic relief]] (at least in the anime).
* ''Literature/SwordArtOnline'': Yui's avatar is normally the size of a young child, but in her Navigation Pixie mode she's small enough to ride on Kirito's head or get into his breast pocket.
** ''Literature/SwordArtOnlineAlternativeGunGaleOnline'': while not as small as Yui, [=LLENN=] is a mere 150cm tall, making her the smallest avatar in [=GGO=], less than half the height of her friends "Boss", M, and Pitohui.
* Seems to be the case with Taneshima Popura in ''Manga/{{Wagnaria}}''
* ''Anime/YuGiOh'': Yugi Mutou and Yami Yugi are among the most clear cases of big eyes when smaller.
** Yami Yugi used to remain the same size in the first manga, but then got a case of import and started getting a growth spurt like his anime counterpart after the transformation. Can be seen clearly in ''Manga/YuGiOhR''.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Asian Animation]]
* The characters in ''Animation/NoonboryAndTheSuper7'' are generally small in stature and very {{moe}}. Special mentions goes to Totobory and Kikibory, among the smallest and the cutest of them all.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Comic Books]]
* Comic books: [=WaRP=] Graphics' ''ComicBook/ElfQuest'' had elves that were about half as high as humans. They were adorable.
** Yeah, that wasn't quite the point, although the Pinis did mention in an interview that giving them large heads and eyes made audiences feel more protective toward them.
*** And there were also the "Tiny Toon Elves" self-parodies, drawn IIRC by some of the original ''WesternAnimation/TinyToonAdventures'' artists.
* One arc of ''Superman/Batman'' featured a [[http://asylums.insanejournal.com/scans_daily/18687.html chibi Justice League.]]
* The extradimensional ''ComicBook/XMen'' villain Mojo, in an effort to keep his world's television ratings high after their (presumed) death, created Fun Size versions of the titular mutants -- the [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X-Babies X-Babies.]] HilarityEnsues when the babies prove to be less restrained than their adult counterparts.
** Despite (or perhaps because of) hilarity destructively ensuing, it was apparently a ratings success, because he later brought out the Mitey 'Vengers (Fun Size Avengers) and a team of Fun Size ComicBook/AgeOfApocalypse villains, including the terrifying four-armed head-for-a-torso Sugar Man.
** And now there are ''A-Babies vs. X-Babies'', a [[SpinOffBabies spin-off]] of ''ComicBook/AvengersVsXMen'' produced by Skottie Young and Gurihiru.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Fan Works]]
* ''Fanfic/MyLittleTitan'', a ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'' and ''WesternAnimation/TeenTitans'' crossover fanfic by Tatsurou-san: Gilda the Griffon refers to Scootaloo, a young pegasus, as "Fun Size".
** She does the same in one section from ''Fanfic/TheInfiniteLoops'' (in a deliberate shout-out by the author of said section).
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Film -- Animation]]
* ''WesternAnimation/DespicableMe1'': Anything hit by the shrink ray. Temporarily.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Film -- Live-Action]]
* In ''Film/AntManAndTheWasp'', while infiltrating Cassie’s school to find her trophy, which is hiding Scott's old suit, the regulator in Scott’s new suit malfunctions. While hiding in the janitor's closet, Hope tries to fix the regulator, but while it works for a second, it malfunctions again, and ends up leaving Scott the size of a fourth grader. Hope and Hank find it hilarious.
-->'''Scott:''' ([[SarcasmMode Sarcastically]]) Awesome.
-->'''Hope:''' If only [[Film/CaptainAmericaTheFirstAvenger Cap]] can see you now.
* ''Film/TheCreeps'': [[MadScientist Dr. Berber]]'s machine, the Archetype Inducer, is used to bring four of the most well-known monsters to life in the real world. However, since the process was incomplete, they're three feet tall. Dr. Berber informs them they need to bring him Anna so they can use her as a human sacrifice, which will bring them to normal size.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Literature]]
* While nearly all fairy species in ''Literature/ArtemisFowl'' are small at around a metre tall, pixies specifically are said to be cute, rather fragile, and similar in appearance to human children.
* ''Literature/ACertainMagicalIndex'' has [[spoiler:Othinus]] get turned into a 15 cm tall fairy. She can easily fit in a pocket in this state, but also becomes the literal ChewToy for a cat.
* All memebers of the Paradise Palace in ''Literature/GirlsKingdom'' must be 4'9" at the tallest, creating an entire salon of fun sized young ladies. This requirement was implemented by Mei Kobina, the seraph to the salon's head, Asuka Nekoyashiki, who only likes girls that stand at 4'9" or less and is responsible for picking out all the members of the salon.
* ''Literature/HarryPotter'' has Dobby, the small, cute house elf.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Live-Action TV]]
* Bernadette is the sweetest, cutest member of the gang in ''Series/TheBigBangTheory''. At under five feet she's also the shortest.
-->'''Bernadette''': I love this dress. How come I never see you wear it?
-->'''Penny''': ‘Cause when I wear it, it’s a shirt.
* In the Series 3 finale of ''Series/DoctorWho'', the Master makes the Doctor look as old as he is (900 and something years old), and he turns into an adorable tiny creature. The thing that made the Doctor look cute was his huge eyes, which completely makes you look past his grey, withered skin, and bony hands.
* ''Series/ElChapulinColorado'' can become tiny using his Chiquitolina pills. One episode had a woman saying he was so cute, she felt tempted to put him on her car's rearview mirror.
* An episode of ''Series/WillAndGrace'' made mention of the "Pocket Gay" when Will was set up on a blind date with a guy who was quite short. Jack basically described him as "all the perks of a boyfriend in convenient travel size."
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Tabletop Games]]
* Many {{fanfic}}s have included the grimdark models used in tabletop versions of ''TabletopGame/Warhammer40000'' coming to life or appearing in our world as the size of their tabletop counterparts, such as [[http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5474237/1/40k_ToyHammer this one]]. HilarityEnsues.
* In ''TabletopGame/{{Pathfinder}}'', the Improved Familiar feat lets a spellcaster chose from a wide range of tiny magical creatures as potential familiars. Many of them (such as the [[CuteKitten silvanshee agathion]], [[ShoulderSizedDragon pseudodragons, fairy dragons]], and the [[FairyCompanion Lyrakian azata]]) are {{Ridiculously Cute Critter}}s, although the [[OurDemonsAreDifferent evil outsiders]] range from UglyCute to BodyHorror.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Toys]]
* Hasbro's various "Heroes" series, including the ''Creator/MarvelComics'' Super Hero Squad, ''Franchise/{{Transformers}}'' Robot Heroes, ''Franchise/StarWars'' Galactic Heroes, and the recently released ''Franchise/IndianaJones'' Adventure Heroes and ''Franchise/GIJoe'' Combat Heroes.
* In [[WesternAnimation/TheTransformers the original Transformers cartoon]], Galvatron is an EvilOverlord who is death and destruction incarnate, but so far [[AxCrazy out of his processor]] that he's as dangerous to his allies as his enemies. In the Japanese [=MyClone=] toyline, on the other hand, he looks like [[http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Image:MycloneGalv.jpg this]]. As Wiki/TFWiki puts it, "He will kill you with adorability."
* [[http://www.nendoroid.org/nendoroids.php The Nendoroid product line and general design]] (the same template is used by more than one manufacturer). ''Anything'' added to the line becomes a Moe-fied version of itself through the tried-and-true process of "inflate head until it's roughly the size of the rest of the body." (Contrast with [[http://www.figma.jp/en/figma figmas]], a related series of toys that uses normal humanoid proportions.)
* ''[[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Choro-Q Choro Q (Penny Racers)]]'', which is marketed as a smaller, chubbier, and cuter version of licensed car and tank models.
* An ''[[https://www.walmart.com/ip/SpiderMan-Movie-ToyBiz-Action-Figure-Web-Swinging-SpiderMan/980053658 action figure]]'' released to promote the first Sam Raimi ''Spider-Man'' movie included a miniature street setup that you can put together, consisting of a miniature streetlight for Spider-Man to swing on, tiny replicas of NYC street signs, a miniature manhole cover, and to top it off, it even came with a tiny newspaper box that actually had ''[[https://preview.redd.it/this-newspaper-box-from-a-old-spider-man-toy-playset-v0-z5uokybyur1a1.jpg?auto=webp&s=22b1ccb3a2e644628c07ff4424056e7554ff0e6d tiny newspapers]]'' inside of it.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Video Games]]
* ''VideoGame/BurnoutParadise''[='s=] Toy Cars DLC. But here's the not fun part: Toy cars retain the [[CarFu same strength stat]] of the original cars...
* In ''VideoGame/{{Chantelise}}'', after Chante is cursed by a witch into becoming a small fairy, her sister Elise finds her adorable. Chante herself is not happy, and will [[RunningGag kick people in the shins]] if they piss her off.
* The main trio from ''VideoGame/DisgaeaHourOfDarkness'' get drawn this way in promotional artwork.
* ''Franchise/TheElderScrolls'':
** Scamps are the [[TheGoomba weakest]] known form of [[OurDemonsAreDifferent lesser Daedra]], and also the smallest, standing just over half the height of an average man. Appearances earlier in the series, particularly the [[LethalJokeCharacter Scamp merchant]] Creeper in ''[[VideoGame/TheElderScrollsIIIMorrowind Morrowind]]'', gained Scamps some fans for their "cuteness", though their LooksLikeOrlok appearance in ''[[VideoGame/TheElderScrollsOnline Online]]'' is much more ugly and demonic.
** Rieklings (a blue-skinned race of humanoids native to [[GrimUpNorth Solstheim]]) stand only about half the height of an average man. While their exact appearance has [[ArtEvolution changed with each entry in the series]], their diminutive size and gibberish language tends to get them the UglyCute treatment.
* ''Franchise/FiveNightsAtFreddys'':
** The mobile version of [[VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys1 the first game]] features adorable little plushies of the creepy killer animatronics that just sit in your office while you play.
** The [[VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys4 fourth game]] features three miniature versions of one of the animatronics. While the bigger thing is utterly terrifying, the plush versions are more CreepyCute.
* ''VideoGame/FreedomPlanet'' uses this kind of art style, with rounder, more compact designs to invoke 16 bit limitations, though the [[VideoGame/FreedomPlanet2 sequel]] does away with it for longer, much more detailed character sprites. Lives in both games however are even smaller, and look like little caged animal heads.
* ''VideoGame/KingdomHeartsII'' does this to [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyX2 Yuna, Rikku, and Paine]] by turning them into ''[[https://kh.wiki.gallery/images/8/82/Gullwings_KHII.png fairies.]]''
* The entire premise of ''Videogame/KirbyMassAttack'' is based upon this: Kirby gets split up by the BigBad into ten parts, each with only a fraction of his full power.
* The Mini Mario in ''VideoGame/MarioVsDonkeyKong'', as pictured above, which are toys made in Mario's likeness.
** Later games add in Mini Donkey Kongs, Peaches, Paulines, and Luigis among others.
* Ah those teeny tiny [[VideoGame/MegaManLegends servbots]], doesn't matter that they can pilot machines that can drop highly explosive bombs, they are just so darn cute!
** And you can control one of them in ''VideoGame/MarvelVsCapcom2''!
* ''VideoGame/{{Okamiden}}'''s Chibiterasu. Sure, [[VideoGame/{{Okami}} Amaterasu]] was already a BadassAdorable, but just [[http://kotaku.com/5351390/okamiden-kicks-cuteness-up-a-notch look at them!]]
* Name a Franchise/{{Pokemon}} that's under a couple of feet high; good chance it'll be completely adorable. Shaymin gets bonus points for not only being one of the smallest of the many, many pocket monsters, but a Mythical as well. Screw the Sky Forme, cute hedgehog is '''cute'''.
** Every generation has a miniature {{Olympus Mon|s}} or two, like Mew, Jirachi, and Manaphy.
** Joltik and Flabebe are tied with being the smallest of all Pokémon (''four inches''), and are ridiculously cute to match.
* Konami's baseball game making team ''[[https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E3%83%91%E3%83%AF%E3%83%97%E3%83%AD%E3%83%97%E3%83%AD%E3%83%80%E3%82%AF%E3%82%B7%E3%83%A7%E3%83%B3 Powapuro Production]]'' has been making two series of NPB licensed games in parallel: ''[[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Professional_Baseball_Spirits Pro Baseball Spirits]]'' and ''VideoGame/LivePowerfulProBaseball''. While ''Pro Spirits'' is a serious and realistic baseball simulator akin to EA Sports games, ''VideoGame/LivePowerfulProBaseball'' is a Fun Size series featuring SuperDeformed characters, VisualNovel story modes, and all-out wackiness.
* The Mobile Suits/Armors of the ''VideoGame/SDGundamGGeneration'' series, which also doubles as BadassAdorable.
* The ''Franchise/SonicTheHedgehog'' series is fond of using little chibi versions of the characters as icons. In ''VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehogCD'', Sonic (and Tails in the digital remake) and Knuckles in ''VideoGame/SonicMania'' are shrunk down into chibi forms in Metallic Madness zone.
* Metal Gear Mk II in ''VisualNovel/{{Snatcher}}'' is terribly cute, despite having a design inspired by [[VideoGame/MetalGear nuke-launching superweapons]]. ''VideoGame/SDSnatcher'' makes Metal Gear even smaller. An [[{{Expy}} extremely similar model]] showed up in ''VideoGame/MetalGearSolid4GunsOfThePatriots''.
* ''Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo'' has chibi versions of the ''Franchise/StreetFighter'' and ''VideoGame/{{Darkstalkers}}'' characters.
** A formula that was followed through in ''Pocket Fighter''.
* The ''VideoGame/SuperRobotWars'' series. To really hammer the point home, the entire opening movie of ''VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsAlpha'' is this trope.
* The Downsize status ailment in the [=PS2=] remake of ''VideoGame/TalesOfDestiny'' does this to your characters by making them take on their tiny SuperDeformed sprites from the original version of the game.
** A mob of tiny, squeaky voiced Chelsea clones is also fought in the bonus dungeon.
* ''VideoGame/TeamFortress2'' gives us the mini-sentries, which are basically the standard sentries at a smaller size and significantly less firepower, with a police siren duct taped on top of it. Of course, this is [[LampshadeHanging lampshaded]] by the Engineer himself, as he sometimes calls it a "cute little gun".
** Taken further with ''VideoGame/DungeonDefenders'', if purchased from Steam you also get the Engineer/Pyro/Heavy/Medic as a pet.
* Suika Ibuki from ''Franchise/TouhouProject'' is short and cute to begin with, but the numerous Fun Size duplicates of herself she can create to attack with are just adorable.
** The licensed ''Touhou'' mobile game ''VideoGame/TouhouLostWord'' does this with Yuyuko Saigyouji (normally a rather tall character), as the alternate universe version of her seen in Chapter 3, the aptly-named Tiny Ghost Mistress, just oozes raw cuteness and is so tiny that she's about as tall as characters such as Cirno (who is canonically one of the shortest characters in the series). [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Okis-s_ZEeA You can look at her introduction video to give it a look.]]
** Fangame ''VideoGame/GensouNingyouEnbu'' is this the game. Gensokyo's having an infestation of puppets, which take on the form of its residents but miniaturized.
* ''VideoGame/WorldOfWarcraft'' does this with Lil' Ragnaros, the Moonkin Hatchling, Lil' XT, and Lil KT; all vanity pets obtainable from the microtransaction shop.
** Also, Lil' Deathwing from the Collector's Edition of Cataclysm.
** The quest giver (and later companion) [[http://www.wowhead.com/npc=49956 Pebble,]] and [[http://www.wowhead.com/npcs?filter=na=lizard;minle=1;maxle=1;cr=39;crs=4;crv=0 various lizard critters]] (miniature versions of the hostile Warp Stalker beast).
* ''VideoGame/ZniwAdventure'': A chibi version of Zniw, complete with dilated pupils, appears in the loading screens. Zniw [[RidiculouslyCuteCritter hardly needed to look cuter]], but this drawing is a nice touch anyway.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Webcomics]]
%%* [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin Tiny Carl Jung]] from ''Webcomic/DresdenCodak'' is [[DepartmentOfRedundancyDepartment tiny]].
* In ''Webcomic/ElGoonishShive'', Sarah finds Grace irresistibly cute and adorable when she [[http://www.egscomics.com/?date=2010-06-11 transforms into her full-squirrel form]]. She even invokes AndCallHimGeorge.
* ''Webcomic/GirlGenius'' has [[{{Pun}} fun]] with this. Played straight by the [[DoAnythingRobot Dingbots]]. Inverted by the "[[NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast Fun-Sized Mobile Agony and Death Dispensers]]" -- old Heterodynes did ''everything'' very... FUN sized (they probably heard about miniaturization but thought it's about ShrinkRay).
%%* Discussed in [[http://girlyyy.com/go/579 This]] ''Webcomic/{{Girly}}'' strip.
* ''Webcomic/HelloCthulhu'':
** And that's where Ursula Vernon [[http://ursulav.deviantart.com/art/Cthulhu-s-Day-Out-86330269 steps in]]. She got a little "[[http://ursulav.deviantart.com/gallery/7872436 Happy Cthulhu and Friends]]" themed gallery.
** ''Gastly's Ghastly Webcomic'' had Lil' Cthuthy. Turns out that for an EldritchAbomination, being a million years old doesn't even get you out of diapers.
* ''Webcomic/TheInexplicableAdventuresOfBob'' arc "The Island and the Idol" includes an extended flashback to when Bob, Jean, and their neighbors were small children. They are of course all adorable, even [[{{Jerkass}} Fitznewski.]] [[note]] And middle-aged [[GrannyClassic Mrs. Primrose]] was ''hot!''[[/note]]
* ''Webcomic/{{JL8}}'' is about Creator/DCComics characters as kids going to elementary school.
%%* The "Chibi Kia" arc in ''Webcomic/{{Krakow}}''.
%%* The premise of ''[[Webcomic/LilFormers Lil' Formers]]''.
* In one arc of ''Webcomic/LookingForGroup'', Richard gets turned into a child by a cursed medallion. Much [[HilarityEnsues humor results]] from his newfound cuteness. Especially when Benny fits a saddle, harness and bridle to the rabbit following them around for Richard to ride.
* ''Webcomic/MiniMari'' takes ''Franchise/TouhouProject''[='=]s resident CuteWitch Marisa and shrinks her down to a mischievous and adorable chibi form.
* Snuggleninja, found [[http://www.indoorempire.com/snuggleninja-gallery#219-25_Short here]] is so little. But that doesn't stop him from doing what he needs to do.
* Yu Han-Sung from ''Webcomic/TowerOfGod'' canonically shrinks [[LargeHam Rak]] after he mocks him for being so small he cannot even see him, right after they bumped into each other.
* Zig-zagged in ''Webcomic/TwoKinds''. Bastins are more-or-less short versions of Keidrans, but they're really not that cute. At least, not while they're not trying to take your head off with a polearm.
* ''Webcomic/{{XKCD}}'' has a [[https://xkcd.com/1682/ strip about "buns" (rabbits)]] that notes that smaller buns are better than bigger buns and that the smallest bun is king of the buns.

%% Link is practically dead. Consider replacing.
* Calling trick-or-treat size candy bars "fun size" is one of ''Website/{{Cracked}}'''s [[http://www.cracked.com/blog/the-5-stupidest-lies-advertisers-expect-you-to-believe/ The 5 Stupidest Lies Advertisers Expect You to Believe]]. It compares the practice to little people demanding to be called "fun size".
** A joke [[FollowTheLeader previously used]] in ''WebAnimation/HomestarRunner'' by Strong Bad: "A fun-sized candy bar?!? I ask you: what's fun about ''less'' candy?"
%% * Here, have some [[http://design-benign.blogspot.com/2009/11/adorable-inglourious-basterds.html adorable drawings]] of ''Film/InglouriousBasterds''.
* In Roleplay/WeAreOurAvatars, Chibi-Wren pops out of Wren's backpack whenever someone mentions junk food and [[Franchise/{{Disgaea}} Asagi has her Monster form]], aka the self-explanatory Chibi form. Comes complete with GenkiGirl attitude and cutesy SpeechImpediment.
* This is the entire point of the Minis in the [[WebOriginal/ProtectorsOfThePlotContinuum PPC]]. That and to [[GrammarNazi poke fun at the badficcer's misspellings]].
-->''Each time a name's spelled wrong in ''[[Literature/TheLordOfTheRings Rings]]'', a mini-Balrog gets its wings.''
* The trend in the UsefulNotes/FurryFandom of "toon" characters, inspired by the likes of classic animated shorts in general and ''WesternAnimation/TinyToonAdventures'' in particular. As you would expect from their proportions, they're usually portrayed as being waist-high to an average human or humanoid at most.
* [[http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/747/watchmenkq3.gif Chibi]] [[ComicBook/{{Watchmen}} Rorschach.]] That is all.
** Could also apply to the movie version. Next to the other actors, Jackie Earl Haley's Rorschach looks rather small.
*** Totally appropriate. In the comic, Rorschach was fairly short, and wore elevator shoes when in costume to look more intimidating.
** [[http://danbooru.donmai.us/post/show/416403/chibi-rorschach-watchmen Another]] Chibi Rorschach.

* Video clips of hamsters stuffing miniature versions of human food - thimble-sized burritos, sandwiches as big as postage stamps, etc - into their cheek pouches double up on the cuteness, because hamsters.

* ''WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender'' has [[http://avatar.wikia.com/wiki/Super_Deformed_Shorts Super Deformed Shorts]]!
-->'''Tiny!Katara''': ''Tiny Zuko! He looks so cute!''\
'''Tiny!Zuko''': (attempts to resume normal form) '''''I AM NEITHER CUTE NOR TINY!'''''\
'''Tiny!Iroh''': ''You are pretty cute, my tiny nephew.''
* Played with in ''WesternAnimation/BatmanTheAnimatedSeries'' with the literal WhiteDwarfStarlet "Baby Doll" -- an actress afflicted with "systemic hypoplasia" that caused her to always look like a 5- to 8-year-old girl, even at 34-years-old.
* In ''WesternAnimation/{{Mulan}}'', Mushu is a very tiny dragon. He says he's "travel sized", but he really is that small. He is still [[IAmNotWeasel not a lizard]].
* Spike in WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic is the youngest dragon we see, and is appropriately tiny. He's even smaller than the foals in the series who can also count as this
* In ''WesternAnimation/PJSparkles'', after PJ magically returns to Earth she shrinks to the size of a doll and has to use magic to be normal-size again.
* ''WesternAnimation/SpongeBobSquarePants'' has the Krabby Kiddie Patty which is "thirty percent cuter" than a normal krabby patty.
** The entire premise of "Fun-Sized Friends" counts as well.
* ''WesternAnimation/StevenUniverse'': Reoccurring foe Peridot is revealed in the episode "Catch and Release" [[spoiler: to be [[ProstheticLimbReveal wearing "limb enhancers"]] on her arms and legs. Without them, [[TheNapoleon she's barely taller than Steven]].]]
* ''WesternAnimation/TheSuperHeroSquadShow'', with the entire Franchise/MarvelUniverse (minus Spider-Man) chibified. Even the [[DimensionLord dread Dormammu]] can be made cheek-pinchingly adorable (while powerful enough to end the world.)
* Chibi versions of the characters are used for gags in ''WesternAnimation/TotallySpies'' In one episode, Alex finds Clover adorable after she is shrunk to insect size.
* In the ''WesternAnimation/UltimateSpiderMan2012'' episode "Damage", Spider-Man accidentally hits Nova with a ShrinkRay used to aid in clean-up after super-hero battles (by reducing the debris to more manageable sizes); Nova is stuck at action figure size for the rest of the episode.

* Fan Art tends to do this.
* Again, [[CutenessProximity kittens and puppies]]. Even adult cats are genetically tiny lions or tigers, and some dog breeds like the chihuahua are inherently fun-sized wolves.
* Various breeds of animals are bred for size, presumably because of cuteness: dwarf cats, chihuahuas, poodles...
** Japanese culture is obsessed with [[{{Kawaiiko}} cuteness]], and this is a part of it.
** Shelties are adorable mini-sheepdogs that were bred for an adorable reason: to herd tiny sheep!
** Miniature horses (often called ponies). Originally they were for hauling mine carts, now they are now being tried out as a substitute for ''guide dogs''. (There are vastly less people allergic to horses than dogs, and horses have very long life spans.)
** Pomeranians were bred specifically to be small after Queen Victoria both popularized the smaller types, and led a breeding program to decrease their size. And then there's the [[https://www.google.com/search?q=pomsky&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiYmMOL45zbAhWd2YMKHenDCRYQ_AUICigB&biw=1366&bih=604 Pomsky]] (all the beauty of a Husky in a mini package).
** Miniature dachshunds. When they're nasty, they're really nasty... but when they're nice, they're [[{{Kawaiiko}} sweethearts!]]
** Poodles actually do come in normal-dog size (Standard Poodle) as well as yappy-dog size (Miniature Poodle and Toy Poodle). Standard poodles are actually quite intelligent, and can be aggressive. The infamous "poodle cut" that the smaller versions are known for is actually a perverted, decorative mutation of the more functional haircut they used to be given in their capacity as hunting dogs.
** The Alaskan Klee Kai, a relatively new breed of dog created specifically to be an apartment-sized version of the Alaskan Husky.
** Welsh Corgis, herding dogs that usually stand less than a foot tall on average, made famous by Queen UsefulNotes/ElizabethII's long-standing fondness for them.
* An unfortunate {{Deconstruction}} of miniature pets: many "teacup" breeds, especially dwarf cats, suffer from genetic and physiological diseases due to inbreeding and severe dwarfism.
* Babies.
* In biology, this is termed neoteny (the appearance of being youthful) and is one reason men are often attracted to women who appear younger than them (ie. being shorter and having smaller features overall). The inverse is AmazonChaser.
* The [[http://www.aussieracingcars.com.au/ Aussie Racing Cars]] series, a series featuring silhouette race cars (eg. every car runs the same equipment, in this case a turbocharged 1.2L Yamaha motorbike engine mated to a sequential transmission) with body styles that resemble scaled down versions of famous cars that have participated in the V8 Supercars series at some point in history.
** Also Go-karts.
* Narrow-gauge trains, especially the old steam engines that look like big toys. They are about the same height as a person, and their form of railroading feels much more personal than that of the big trains.
* T-shirts saying, "I'm not short, I'm fun sized."
* The [[TropeNamers Trope Namer]] expression itself is a direct result of marketing genius by candy manufacturers. Most kids would be rather peeved at receiving a candy bar a quarter of the size as normal; introducing the "Fun Size" expression made it more acceptable to sell small-sized candy bars in bulk, both for special occasions such as Halloween and Valentine's Day, and in general as a "dessert" item for pre-packaged kids' meals.

* Ocelots are small cats that look ''exactly'' like a miniature leopard, and are in fact a distant relative of them.
* [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miniature_food Miniature Food]], that's actually also edible too (not that they'd make much of a meal). [[https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCTFT5NbDl0Fa_fE9Cz_yOAA/videos This channel]] even shows how it's made.
