'''Music/ElvisPresley:''' Simple. I get out of bed, get dressed, and make a Peanut Butter-Banana-Bacon Sandwich.

Bizarre Taste in Food is when a character, main or minor, does something irregular to their meal that [[TrademarkFavouriteFood becomes a defining trait]]. Note that this has nothing to do with the viewer or players' taste, but the characters who witness it.

Differs from CordonBleughChef in the sense that the food is not inedible because of the cook. It's when the character does something minor to the food that completely transforms it. The food doesn't have to be particularly disgusting, just something other characters find to be so.

Usually happens with the BigEater of the group. Typically after doing so, the {{Cloudcuckoolander}} will try the food and proclaim that it tastes better, much to the chagrin of the others.

Can be a NutritionalNightmare if the combinations are extreme in unhealthiness. If the strange taste preferences are due to cultural differences, it's ForeignQueasine. Has overlap with WackyCravings when a character is pregnant. DogFoodDiet is when the character is eating the food by necessity rather than taste preference. PasteEater is a particularly extreme example. Other specific examples include EatDirtCheap and MetalMuncher. Compare ExtremeOmnivore. Contrast with IAteWhat.

Not to be confused with ''[[Series/BizarreFoodsWithAndrewZimmern Bizarre Foods]]'', although it does lead to each other.

%% The examples below have been alphabetized. Please make sure that you keep any new entries in the proper order.
[[foldercontrol]]

[[folder:Anime & Manga]]
* ''Manga/{{Bleach}}'': The {{Cloudcuckoolander}} Orihime is infamous in-universe for the very strange combinations she makes of what would normally be completely ordinary ingredients. In one of the early episodes, Orihime is talking about strange food she eats. She constantly makes odder and odder additions to food, such as buying beans, and jam and leeks all together. Even her friend Tatsuki thinks it's strange. As a result, almost no one wants to try her food because it sounds so weird everyone assumes it will taste disgusting. Those brave -- or crazy -- enough to try to discover that she's actually an excellent cook and those weird combinations actually taste wonderful.
* ''Manga/BungoStrayDogs'': Tecchou Suehiro has a tendency to combine same-colored food, like white rice and sugar. He also eats eggs with the shell still on.
* In ''Anime/CodeGeass'', Cecile Croomy can't cook to save her life, and makes odd dishes such as adding blueberry jam to onigiri. Everyone politely accepts, then decides to secretly dispose of it.
* In ''Manga/DeliciousInDungeon'', Laios, Senshi and [[spoiler: Falin]] are all really into eating food made from monsters, something that seems to be taboo in their world. However, when the other party members give it a chance, it always turns out delicious (thanks in part to Senshi being a SupremeChef). Laios even debates Chilchuck about which humanoid monsters they can eat before it becomes too close to cannibalism.
* Koushiro/Izzy of ''Anime/DigimonAdventure''. He enjoys Taichi/Tai and Hikari/Kari's [[CordonBleughChef mother's]] cooking and once mentioned his favorite toppings for eggs being mustard and jelly beans. Mimi and her family also have very unusual tastes in food too, such as kimchi fried rice topped with whipped cream and strawberries, eggs with maple syrup, and asparagus topped with whipped cream and jelly beans.
* ''Manga/TheElderSisterLikeOne'': The demon Chiyo suggests that she "produce" and cook a placenta for her and Yuu's first meal. Whenever she was summoned by Lovecraftian black magic worshippers in the past, this is what they served her, so she assumes it's a meal for special occasions. Yuu manages to push more conventional fare.
* ''Manga/{{Gintama}}'':
** One of Toushiro Hijikata's defining character traits is his love of mayonnaise, which he puts on absolutely everything, even coffee. It's made worse by the fact that he uses so much of it that the food becomes completely unrecognizable. Everybody finds it disgusting, but he can't seem to grasp that and has presumptuously garnished the food of others without their consent.
** Gintama (at least in anime) also features a few supporting characters with weird food addictions, usually of some sort of relation to Hijikata, just for comparison. As such Okita Mitsuba is shown to add incredibly spicy sauce in all of her food and cooking, and Kyuubei Arc featured a guy, who competed (Literally. It was a competition) with Hijikata during a meal in that he added as much ketchup in his food as did Hijikata mayonnaise. And this was subverted, too, because [[spoiler:the guy revealed to actually hate ketchup but use it still]].
* ''Manga/GTOTheEarlyYears'': Itou's favorite sandwich fillings are soybean mustard and hot fruit. Eikichi declares them inedible, but Tsukai likes them (and Itou).
* In ''Literature/TheHeroWhoReturnedRemainsTheStrongestInTheModernWorld''. Daiki notes that the food in the other world isn't exactly to his tastes despite showing images of what looks like perfectly ordinary and delicious-looking bread, soups, meats, and salads. When Kaguya and Lela visit his house, it's quickly revealed that Daiki and his mom love acidic food so much that they pour hydrochloric and sulfuric acid all over their yakisoba, and their chili shrimp is coated in [[NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast "Death Sauce"]]. The Morishitas are genuinely perplexed when Kaguya and Lela fail to eat anything.
* ''Manga/JojosBizarreAdventureStardustCrusaders'': Iggy loves coffee-flavored chewing gum, to the point that most times he doesn't even bother about getting them out of the wrapper. This may not seem so strange, until you realize Iggy is a ''dog''. He also likes chewing human hair.
* Mitama from ''Anime/MagiaRecordPuellaMagiMadokaMagicaSideStory'' has a bad reputation for her cooking skills in the magical girl community. In the anime, Mitama puts ketchup on a cheesecake for herself. In the video game however this can get [[CordonBleughChef worse]] and ''[[LethalChef even more worse]]''.
* Van from ''Anime/GunXSword'' orders the cheapest thing on the menu and every condiment the place has. One can only imagine how the resulting mess tastes.
* ''Manga/MissKoizumiLovesRamenNoodles'': Koizumi likes ''all'' sorts of ramen, even unusual combinations, such as with pineapple, lemon, strawberry, or natto-kimchi-cream-cheese in it.
* In ''Manga/MagicOfStella'', Shiina seems to have a knack in making weird concoctions of different non-alcoholic drinks, often just to entertain herself.
* ''Manga/MuromiSan'': Being a mermaid, Muromi has no problem eating ragworms.
* Magellan, the chief warden of Impel Down from ''Manga/OnePiece'', eats poisoned food. Such fare fuels his lethal [[PoisonousPerson poison-based Devil's Fruit powers]], but he has clearly developed a taste for the stuff. Unfortunately, while he is mostly immune to poison, it gives him terrible diarrhea, and given the fact that he's a BigEater (being a big guy), he has to spend about ten hours a day in the bathroom as a result.
* ''VideoGame/NamuAmidaButsuUtena'' anime: ''Tathāgatas'', the highest class of Buddhas, are said to have a very different taste in food due to their level of enlightenment.
* In ''Anime/Persona4TheAnimation'', [[FatBastard Hanako]] is a fan of Chie and Yukiko's curry. Said curry [[LethalChef nearly killed Yu and Yosuke]].
* Jessie from ''Franchise/{{Pokemon}}'' happily once gorged on a soup Misty made in one episode of the series. A soup that was made by dumping in vast amounts of, among other things, sugar, salt, curry, Worcestershire sauce and pretty much every ingredient Brock had (he was sick at the time and Misty tried filling in for him). Jessie would go onto describe the soup as the work of a culinary genius. However anyone else who tried it, that being Ash, Misty herself, Meowth, James and even Wobbuffet, couldn't stand even a single bite.
** Later in ''Advance'', [[LethalChef May]] makes a batch of Pokeblocks which causes all the current companions' Pokémon to collapse from the foul taste, and that James describes as tasting like ''jet fuel and burning rubber''. The only characters to actually enjoy them are a passing Munchlax and, again, Jessie.
* Himeno from ''Anime/{{Pretear}}'' enjoys green tea frozen yogurt with kimchi, natto, and chocolate chips.
* Fuji from ''Manga/ThePrinceOfTennis'' is known for eating Wasabi rolls, and drinking Innui's ghastly sports drinks without much hassle.
* Genjyo Sanzo from ''Manga/{{Saiyuki}}'' once admitted to putting mayonnaise on his ramen, weirding out his companions. Due to the weirdness and the circumstances[[note]]they were discussing food while heading towards the season's BigBad's castle for a ''rematch'', their first battle having turned disastrous[[/note]] of this revelation, his love for mayonnaise [[MemeticMutation tends to be exaggerated by the fandom]]. This may actually not be as weird as it sounds to westerners as there actually are some Japanese noodle dishes that are topped with mayonnaise.
* ''Manga/SetonAcademyJoinThePack'': Yukari the koala joins the cast on a quest to figure out a food she remembered eating when she was small that ''wasn't'' the eucalyptus leaves her family otherwise ''always'' eats, but which her mother refuses to speak of when asked. She discovers that mother koalas feed their own poop to their babies to help develop antibodies. After the initial IAteWhat shock wears off, poop becomes Yukari's TrademarkFavoriteFood, much to everyone else's disgust. At a later point in the series, Yukari befriends a group of rabbits, who have similar dietary habits.
* In ''Anime/TigerAndBunny'', Kotetsu puts mayonnaise on everything.
* In ''Anime/VividredOperation'', Akane Isshiki carries a tube of mayonnaise around with her and puts it on everything. She manages to convert a few of her friends as well.
* In the ''[[VideoGame/PuyoPuyo Waku Waku Puyo Puyo Dungeon]]'' manga, Arle has a fondness for really weird flavors of candy. Rulue found out the hard way when she ate a ''canned mackerel'' flavored one.
* In ''Anime/ZoidsChaoticCentury'', we have Fiona (Fiine)'s favourite food -- salt, and lots of it. Especially in her coffee. While the other characters are repulsed by the idea, only Doctor D. loves the stuff to the point he spat out the usual cup of joe in one episode, and asked Fiona to make one with said condiment in it.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Asian Animation]]
* Bubbles from ''Animation/{{Oddbods}}'', fitting her quirky scientific nature, has a tendency to eat animals that one would not consider standard fare. This has included, worms, snakes, and songbirds.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Comic Books]]
* ''ComicBook/MortadeloYFilemon'': In general, the food preferences of the agents of the T.I.A are very peculiar (although the reader can assume that gastronomy works in a different way within this world in contrast to the real world). The protagonists appear eating sardine sandwiches with jam, ice creams with frog legs, etc. As well as drinking, among other things, coffee with cockles. Supervisor Vicente, on the other hand, appears eating a sandwich of caviar in several adventures. In addition, the favorite soft drink of Mortadelo is Cola-Loca, an obvious parody of Coca-Cola, which is drunk with ice and chickpeas. Oh, and once at Christmas, they ate crocodile to replace a turkey!
* Buttercup has a garlic jones in ''ComicBook/ThePowerpuffGirls'' story "Pizza My Heart" (DC run issue #39). She puts copious amounts of garlic on practically everything she eats, causing her breath to make everyone in Townsville--even the monsters--reel in disgust.
* ''ComicBook/Robin1993'': While Tim Drake's favorite pizza--artichoke hearts, Canadian bacon and pineapple--is presented as more odd than gross his father is disgusted by the combination and only allows Tim to have it while he's around after being badgered into it by his wife for Tim's sixteenth birthday.
* ''ComicBook/SonicTheHedgehogIDW'': One panel has Blaze in absolute disbelief that Sonic decided to top his chocolate milkshake with a jalapeno pepper.
* The ComicBook/{{Venom}} symbiote craves phenethylamine, a chemical found in ''[[BrainFood human brains]]''. Depending on how squeamish the host is about eating brains, they may substitute for chocolate, which also contains phenethylamine.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Comic Strips]]
* ''ComicStrip/Blondie1930'': Dagwood is famous for making [[DagwoodSandwich huge sandwiches that generally consist of one of everything that's in the fridge]].
* In ''ComicStrip/BloomCounty'', Milquetoast the cockroach loves to eat rotten, discarded food and other oddities. For example, before enjoying a Ding Dong, he asks Opus to rub it in the gunk under the refrigerator. In another strip, he recites a poem to himself while going to sleep.
-->As I slumber, I think I'll number my favorite foods, short of lumber! Pickled eels! Last week's veal! Banana peels well congealed!
* In the Yukon Ho arc in ''ComicStrip/CalvinAndHobbes'', Hobbes eats one of the sandwiches Calvin made for the trip but is disgusted to find it's honey and marshmallow. Calvin then says the other one has chocolate syrup.
* The title character from the comic strip ''ComicStrip/{{Curtis}}'' is of the BigEater variety, often making sandwich combinations that squick the rest of his family.
* ''ComicStrip/DennisTheMenaceUK'': In "Just Desserts" Angel Face is the only kid to finish her plate of boiled figs without complaint.
* ''ComicStrip/DennisTheMenaceUS'': In one of the comic books, Dennis added ketchup to his milk while at school. In the newspaper panels, he'd mix up other strange concoctions to eat like peanut butter with horseradish in a sandwich.
* ''ComicStrip/{{Garfield}}'':
** [[https://garfield.com/comic/1983/09/03 Give]] Garfield salad and dressing to mix to his liking, he will drink the whole bottle of dressing and think it could use some more dressing.
** [[https://garfield.com/comic/1991/03/23 One strip]] had Garfield douse Jon's scrambled eggs with ketchup, much to Jon's disgust (even though it's actually a fairly believable dish).
** In [[http://garfield.com/comic/2014-09-11 this strip,]] Garfield makes a sandwich with some rather... odd ingredients. (Liverwurst, horseradish and anchovy paste, to be exact.)
** [[https://web.archive.org/web/20190806205302/https://garfield.com/comic/1996/10/13 One strip]] starts with Jon offering Garfield butter on his toast. Then it gets weird:
--->'''Jon:''' Ketchup?\
'''Garfield:''' Please.\
'''Jon:''' Mustard?\
'''Garfield:''' Thank you.\
'''Jon:''' Anchovy Paste?\
'''Garfield:''' Just a smidge!\
'''Jon:''' Lard?\
'''Garfield:''' Sure!\
'''Jon:''' Toaster crumbs? ''(Shakes toaster over toast)''\
'''Garfield:''' Why not?\
'''Jon:''' Garfield?\
'''Garfield:''' Yes?\
'''Jon:''' '''YOU'RE DISGUSTING!'''\
'''Garfield:''' [[ComicallyMissingThePoint Got any sauerkraut?]]
* In a ''ComicStrip/{{Peanuts}}'' [[https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/peanuts/images/a/a4/19661202.gif/revision/latest?cb=20131213175923 strip,]] Linus is eating candy; he gives Lucy one, which leads to this exchange:
-->'''Lucy:''' BLEAH! What in the world ''are'' those?\
'''Linus:''' ''(nonchalantly, reaching into the bag)'' Sour marshmallows!
** A Sunday strip starts with Linus putting something from a squeeze bottle onto something else in a bowl. He takes it over to the TV and starts eating whatever it is by the handful, crunching noisily. The sound gets Lucy's attention...
--->'''Lucy:''' What in the world are you eating?\
'''Linus:''' ''(after crunching some more)'' [[ChocolateFrostedSugarBombs Sugar lumps with honey.]]\
''(Lucy runs off with an absolutely horrified/nauseated expression on her face.)''\
'''Linus:''' [[ComicallyMissingThePoint They're good with cinnamon, too!]]
* In ''ComicStrip/ZippyThePinhead'', Zippy enjoys Ding Dongs with taco sauce. Creator Bill Griffith recounted how he had the combo available, as a joke, at a book signing -- and gave away a ''lot'' of them!
* In a ''ComicStrip/{{Zits}}'' strip, Jeremy makes a sandwich with butter, Swiss cheese, Jalapenos, hummus, peanut butter, honey ham, and Goldfish crackers on a garlic bagel. (And he's disappointed that they're out of marshmallow creme.)
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Fan Works]]
* ''Fanfic/AllMixedUp'': Oprah has coffee-flavored juice boxes on hand for when [[MustHaveCaffeine she needs a pick-me-up.]] She invites Olive and Otto to drink one each as well to shake off their drowsiness from having not slept much at all the previous night.
* ''Fanfic/BecomingTheMaskTrollhunters'': Despite Barbara being a LethalChef, Jim actually likes her food because, as a Changeling, his appetite falls in the middle of that of a troll's and human's.
* ''Fanfic/TheBoltChronicles'': In "The Spaceship," Bolt and Penny eat Music/ElvisPresley-inspired peanut butter-banana-bacon sandwiches while watching ''WesternAnimation/LiloAndStitch''.
* ''Fanfic/ADiplomaticVisit'': Discussed in chapter 9 of the third story, ''Diplomacy Through Schooling'', when Shining Armor and Sonata both mention liking some of the stranger food combinations that Cadance has asked for during her pregnancy -- Shining Armor liked the "cold rice, cucumber, banana and bleu cheese dressing" mixture, and Sonata liked the anchovy, sour cream and steak sauce tacos. Then again, as Aria points out, Sonata will eat ''anything'' if it's served in a taco shell.
* ''Fanfic/TheGreatAlicornHunt'': Discord eats seven hors d'oeuvres trays at the Coronation Gala. Not the hors d'oeuvres themselves, just the trays. (He complains that they weren't very filling because they were made of sterling silver.)
* Toroj's fic ''[[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/2152624/1/Hapy-Niu-Jer Hapy Niu Jer]]'' (in Polish -- the title is a phonetic rendition of "Happy New Year") has [[Franchise/HarryPotter Harry and the gang, along with Snape]] (who got suckered into a bet) spend New Year's Eve in Grimmauld Place. During breakfast, Snape puts every possible spice on his oatmeal -- not every spice you would think to put on oatmeal, ''every spice in the kitchen'' in copious amounts, and takes offence at being given increasingly funny looks. The resulting concoction sends poor Lupin to the nearest toilet, but Snape eats it happily.
* ''[[http://www.tthfanfic.org/Story-29705-2/SSanchez+Harry+s+New+Mum.htm Harry's New Mum]]'' mentions that Dawn once ordered a jalapeno, grapefruit and vinegar pizza.
* In ''[[http://www.fanfiction.net/s/8557645/7/Her-Choices Her Choices]]'' Harry makes a sandwich using tomato, cucumber, lettuce, pumpkin, hummus, cabbage, cheese, jam, and sunflower seeds.
* ''Fanfic/HeirToTheBruceQuest'': The main character, Rhiannon often mixes up her food into bizarre dishes much to the shock to the people she meets for the first time.
* At the end of ''Fanfic/OlivesLastPartner'', Oscar eats a [[FoodPills Food Pill]] that he invented that Olive kept in her pocket, which tastes like anything the consumer wants it to taste like. Oscar ends up eating fish fingers, celery, and banana custard in rapid succession, but without the orange juice he had previously with another [[FoodPills Food Pill]]. Later on, during a flashback that describes Olive and Otto having a long vomiting session after eating too much egg salad pizza, Oscar tries the combination for himself and finds it good, taking the rest of the pizzas off of the agents' hands (at Olive's insistence, as an early birthday present) and sparing them from having to eat any more.
* In the epilogue of ''Teen Titans: Together for Tomorrow'', Superman mentions Kara has been introduced to tomato juice so she'll stop drinking ''ketchup''. Justified because she's adjusting to Earth life, and it seems tomatoes taste like a fruit native to Krypton.
* ''Fanfic/ThePunishment'': It's revealed Wheatley was eating toothpaste before he was reunited with Chell.
* ''Fanfic/RainbowDoubleDashsLunaverse'': Trixie, in spades. For example, she's been known to impale a whole apple on a carrot and drench both in caramel, and she prefers sauerkraut on her pancakes.
** One of her favorites -- hot chocolate with chili powder mixed in -- actually enjoys some popularity in real life, to the point that Hershey sells premixed powder in some markets.
** In the same verse, Scootaloo enjoys chips with rainbow extract. No one is sure how she's able to eat it.
** Minor character Clover Charms shares Trixie's odd tastes, as it transpires.
** And in a non-canon story, a filly created via magical accident who shares traits of Trixie and Twilight inherits Trixie's odd culinary tastes -- she refuses to eat a bowl of soup until someone adds a large amount of mustard to it, then drinks it all.
* ''Webcomic/{{Rebloom}}'': Licorice Cookie likes tuna fish sandwiches with ketchup. The other Cookies of Darkness are appalled, but he just tells them not to knock it if they haven't tried it.
* ''Fanfic/VivaLaVida'': Chapter 3 has Otto eating a Popsicle made out of butternut squash soup. Naturally, Olive finds this disgusting and even mentally berates him for picking something so messy and gross for a snack.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Film — Animated]]
* ''WesternAnimation/AtlantisTheLostEmpire'': Mole. When Cookie is serving up dinner, he slops baked beans onto everyone's trays but refers to it as Caesar salad (for Sweet), escargot (for Audrey) and oriental spring rolls (for Mole). Mole looks at his tray, disappointed, and protests to Audrey that he wanted the escargot, and Audrey shoves her tray at him. Mole abandons the "spring rolls" and digs into the "escargot", even though it's the same greasy food.
* At the end of ''WesternAnimation/TheCareBearsAdventureInWonderland'', Grumpy, after spending the whole film repeatedly being deprived of food, declared he was going to eat ice cream and jelly and top it with pickled beets. Brave Heart Lion was utterly disgusted to hear this.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheLionKing1994'' has Timon and Pumbaa with their taste for insects. In real life, this wouldn't be odd for either species (Timon is a meerkat and Pumbaa is a warthog), but it's treated as odd in-universe. ''Simba'' joining them in their insect-eating genuinely does rate as bizarre for a lion.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Film — Live-Action]]
* ''Film/TheBluesBrothers'': Elwood Blues's preferred food is dry white toast, one slice of which makes up an entire meal for him.
* ''Film/TheBreakfastClub'': During lunch, Allison removes the pimento loaf from her sandwich and adds Pixy Stix and mashed up Cap'n Crunch. (Also her sandwich uses one slice of white bread & one slice wheat.)
* In ''Film/CapeFear'', Kersek's favourite drink is Jim Beam mixed with Pepto Bismol.
* ''Film/{{Elf}}'': Having been raised by elves, Buddy's idea of a well-balanced diet consists of the four main food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corns, and syrup, as elves love sugar. In fact, Buddy adds syrup to almost anything he eats, such as spaghetti; later still, when Buddy fixes himself breakfast, he cooks a plate of spaghetti and tops it with maple syrup, chocolate syrup, M&Ms, marshmallows, and chocolate Pop-Tarts.
* ''Film/{{Gamer}}'': Subverted in the opening scene, when the rich kid and eccentric champion gamer Simon slathers some sort of weird-looking green paste over bread and eats it. Much later, he reveals it to be pistachio butter, which is rare and expensive but not bizarre.
* ''Film/HudsonHawk''. While Eddie is in Italy, he goes to a restaurant and orders "Fettuccini con funghi porcini" (pasta with mushrooms). He also asks for a bottle of ketchup, to the waiter's dismay.
* John in ''Film/{{Intermission}}'' gets in the habit of putting brown sauce in his tea, and more than one character is surprised to find it's not bad when they try it. Becomes a plot point when this [[SomethingOnlyTheyWouldSay distinctive]] drink order becomes a clue to another character that her masked captor is affiliated with John.
* Much like his cartoon counterpart, Shaggy in the live-action ''Film/ScoobyDoo2002'' movies has some really weird cravings. In the first film, we see him eat an eggplant burger with chocolate syrup and hot sauce.
* In ''Film/{{UHF}}'', Music/{{Weird Al|Yankovic}}'s character puts a hot dog into a Twinkie, puts cheese whiz on it, and dunks it in his drink. The Twinkie-Weiner sandwich is still the TrademarkFavoriteFood of Al's in real life, although he uses vegetarian linkettes nowadays.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Literature]]
* ''Literature/{{Animorphs}}'': Ax, an alien Andalite, morphs into a human to better assist the rest of the freedom fighters on Earth. For the first time he can experience food culture (Andalites don't have tongues), and finds his favorite things to eat are cinnabuns, hot peppers, and vinegar.
* ''Literature/{{Discworld}}'':
** The student wizards who work at Unseen University's High Energy Magic Building, being college nerds, seem to live on nothing but pizza. ''Un''like (most) Roundworld students, theirs tends to have ''really'' bizarre topping combos, e.g. banana pudding with kippers.
** The Igors also have bizarre tastes in food, considering that one made a tuna, spaghetti and jam sandwich (with sprinkles) for Nutt in ''Literature/UnseenAcademicals''. Glenda, the resident SupremeChef, gets DerailedForDetails by contemplating whether there's any kind of jam that would make this actually taste good.
** Pepe in the same book is never seen eating solid food, but will ''drink'' anything that's even theoretically alcoholic.
--->'''Glenda''': That's cider vinegar!\
'''Pepe''': It's alright, I'm only drinking the cider part.
* In ''Literature/TheDresdenFiles'' short story "Zoo Day" Maggie eats french fries with mustard instead of ketchup, dunking the fry in the mustard, licking it off, then more often than not feeding the fry itself to her dog.
* Warren from ''Literature/EyeOfAFly'' makes his own meals, like ice cream with mustard and hamburger with orange juice spread over it.
* The three villains in ''Literature/FantasticMrFox'' are [[VillainousGlutton Villainous Gluttons]], but each is a PickyEater who eats the same thing three times a day, and each is bizarre: Farmer Boggis eats three chickens smothered in dumplings for each meal (and three for dessert at dinner), Bunce eats homemade donuts stuffed with mashed goose livers (which make him sick and ill-tempered, but he doesn't try eating anything else), and the beanpole-thin [[MeaningfulName Farmer Bean]] doesn't eat any solid food at all, drinking gallons of fiery, home-brewed, alcoholic apple cider.
* ''Literature/ImperialRadch'': In ''Ancillary Mercy'', Translator Zeiat's beverage of choice is... fish sauce. After all, it's a liquid, and it tastes good. While she is human ([[HumanoidAbomination almost]]), she was grown by StarfishAliens to serve as a diplomat, and they seem not to have taught her the human concept of condiments.
* ''Literature/InCryptid'': The Price family, human or not, could give [[WesternAnimation/ScoobyDoo Shaggy and Scooby]] a run for their money.
** Sarah likes ketchup and tonic water, among other odd combinations.
** Antimony likes Captain Crunch on cold pizza.
* ''Literature/TheIronTeeth'': Blacknail the goblin apparently likes to eat food that is slimy, and even somewhat rotten.
* ''Literature/MagicShop'': In ''Jeremy Thatcher, Dragon Hatcher'', Jeremy's father ''loves'' chicken livers. Jeremy, on the other hand, doesn't understand how his father can even ''touch'' them, let alone ''eat'' them.
* ''Literature/MonstersInMyMailbox'': The monsters have been known to eat many weird things such as mud pies, box springs, and dust balls.
* In the novel ''The Pack'', the main character makes a new friend and goes out to lunch with him and her other friend. He orders a hamburger and when asked how he would like it, he replies "raw". There is some arguing with the waitress about health codes before the issue is settled.
* ''Literature/PercyJacksonAndTheOlympians'':
** ''The Lightning Thief'' starts out with Percy and Grover sitting on a bus while a bully throws pieces of her peanut butter and ketchup sandwich at them.
** And Percy and his mother really like blue-coloured food. Blue coke, blue pie... you name it. Justified in-universe with the explanation that Percy's first stepfather Gabe Ugliano had once claimed there was no such thing as blue food (apparently he'd never heard of blueberries), and after initially proving him wrong, Sally went out of her way to make and eat blue food regularly as a way of rubbing it in his face. After he's out of their lives, she and Percy keep it up as their personal in-joke. (Also, they really do like it.)
* ''Literature/ThePlantThatAteDirtySocks'': The plants and their taste for socks, of course, but the humans get in on it too from time to time -- book 2 has Norman making a grape jelly and lettuce sandwich for himself, and baked bean sandwiches in later books, which Michael picks up on.
* The aliens in the ''Literature/RoswellHigh'' series put Tabasco sauce on almost all their food and combine flavors in ways that would make Earthlings vomit. This was carried over into the TV show based on the books (see below).
* Lou from ''Literature/TheSpeedOfDark'' likes soggy noodles with peanut butter.
* ''Literature/ThenAgainMaybeIWont'': Tony Miglione certainly thinks that his new friend Joel has bizarre taste in food; as he says, "He likes some strange sandwiches." His favorite is salami, tomato and mayonnaise, and his second favorite is onion slices on buttered whole wheat bread.
* Bartholomew Stiggins in the ''Literature/ThursdayNext'' books. He is known to eat beetles and raw meat, among other things. [[JustifiedTrope Justified]] because he's a Neanderthal (a product of a cloning project).
* ''Literature/UniversalMonsters'': As revealed in book 1, Captain Bob likes using peanut butter instead of mayonnaise on his sandwiches (including with bologna and other meats) after having first done so years before as an emergency substitution when he'd run out of mayo. It grosses out Nina though. Book 5 reveals that his friend Skylar does the same, and book 6 has Nina being weirded out even further when, early on, Captain Bob makes a hot dog topped with onions, relish, jalapeño peppers, chili and mayonnaise, followed by ''strawberry jelly''.
* ''Literature/TheWanderingInn'': When Erin, the Innkeeper, tried to come up with a new dish she could serve her non-human customers, she chose Acid Flies -- which, as the name implies, are flies that carry flesh-eating acid in their bodies. As she couldn't work safely with the acid, she left the work to her barmaid... an animated skeleton who is immune to it. Even more surprising is that her customers actually find it tasty -- especially the gigantic insect queen of the Antinium that can't seem to get enough of it.
* ''Literature/WelcomeToWonderland'': P.T.'s grandfather's favourite drink is Dr. Brown's Cel-Ray Soda, which [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin is soda that tastes, obviously, like celery]]. (Which actually ''exists'', for the record.)
* ''Literature/WhoWetMyPants'': Tim and Teddy like maple-bacon flavoured donuts. Reuben lampshades this by describing this flavour as "gross".
* ''Literature/TheWitchlands'': Owl, a WildChild who spent the last year living in the woods, offers Aeduan raw earthworms as breakfast, and can't understand why he's disgusted (that, or she's stealthily making fun of him — it's hard to tell with her).
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Live-Action TV]]
* ''Series/ABitOfFryAndLaurie'': In one of the sketches Stephen Fry eats cereals with fork and knife.
* ''Series/{{Bewitched}}'': Darrin's favorite breakfast combination is scrambled eggs and chicken livers.
* ''Series/BrooklynNineNine'': In one episode, Peralta mentions that on Thanksgiving he sits by himself and eats spoonfuls of mayo, with peanuts sprinkled in.
-->'''Captain Holt:''' That's revolting.
* ''Series/BuffyTheVampireSlayer'': The title character's little sister Dawn was notorious for this (according to the book ''Television Series of the 1990s: Essential Facts and Quirky Details'', her favorite sandwich is peanut butter and salami on white bread, and she's made peanut butter and banana waffles). Buffy herself also showed signs of it -- according to her friend Billy Fordham in the season 2 episode "Lie to Me", she used to eat Oreos dunked in apple juice.
* ''Series/DoctorWho'': The Eleventh Doctor has a taste for fish sticks dipped in custard. The first time he tried them post-regeneration trauma was playing havoc with his taste buds, but he's also seen enjoying them in later episodes, such as [[Recap/DoctorWhoS33E4ThePowerOfThree "The Power of Three"]].
* ''Series/TheDukesOfHazzard'': [[FatSweatySouthernerInAWhiteSuit Boss Hogg]] is not only a VillainousGlutton, but he also has some odd tastes in food. His favorite breakfast is raw liver with coffee.
* ''Series/{{Fringe}}'':
** Observers will cover their food in hot pepper and douse it in hot sauce before eating it.
** Walter Bishop, who is something of a SenseFreak with a SweetTooth, has a tendency to get bizarre obsessions with certain foods, often combining them in weird ways, because of the time he spent locked in a sanatorium with very bland food. In season four, he discovers molecular gastronomy and starts doing things like liquefying meat and suspending in in algae.
* ''Series/FullHouse'': In the episode where Jessie's Greek cousin Starveros comes to visit, he orders a pizza topped with double feta cheese and lamb guts.
* ''Series/GimmeABreak'': One time, Nell accidentally burns a steak black, which Carl then eats, happily saying, "You finally cooked it the way I like it!"
* On ''Series/{{Gotham}}'', when Jeremiah stages a re-enactment of the day Bruce's parents were murdered, he arranges for a hypnotized Alfred to serve Bruce's favorite childhood lunch: an open-faced grilled cheese and ''Branston pickle'' sandwich.
* ''Series/TheGreatestAmericanHero'': Bill's TrademarkFavoriteFood is [[DogFoodDiet dog biscuits.]]
* ''Series/GreenAcres'': In one episode, Eb's cousin Walter, who is a bartender, is able to identify the citizens of Hooterville by their TrademarkFavoriteDrink, and remembers Hank Kimball for his mix of scotch and goat's milk.
* ''Series/ItsAlwaysSunnyInPhiladelphia'': Charlie has bizarre eating habits. He eats cat food as a sedative. An early episode has him making a Grilled Charlie, which is a toasted sandwich with chocolate, peanut butter, butter, and cheese. He says his favorite food is "milk steak," which his friends have never heard of, but might be a steak boiled in milk. He requests "raw jellybeans" at a restaurant. In a movie theater, he eats spaghetti out of a ziplock bag. One episode implies that wolf hair and newspaper might be found in his stool.
* ''Series/KamenRiderWizard'': The secondary Rider is Kosuke Nitoh, AKA Kamen Rider Beast, who puts mayonnaise on ''everything'', to the horror and disgust of the series protagonist, Haruto Soma. This includes foods ranging from onigiri, to oden, to ramen, to ''[[{{Squick}} doughnuts]]''... He even convinced some people to try the latter and they ''[[BeyondTheImpossible liked it]]''!
* Tamagoyaki is a sort of fried egg roll omelette that's usually savory. The eponymous ''Series/KamenRiderBuild'' Sento Kiryu likes his to be so tooth rottingly [[GeniusSweetTooth sweet]] it's basically inedible for anyone else, much to the consternation of his peers.
* ''Series/LaverneAndShirley'':
** Laverne and her penchant for mixing [[{{Squick}} milk and Pepsi]]. This was a real-life favorite beverage of Penny Marshall's.
** Squiggy's version of a [=BLT=] is baloney, liverwurst and turkey.
* ''[[Series/{{Mash}} M*A*S*H]]'':
** In "The Sniper", while the entire camp is pinned down by sniper fire, Radar mentions having a peculiar metabolism, saying that he needs to eat regularly, or, "Everything solid in my body turns to water". Under the cover of darkness, Hawkeye and Frank think they're ambushing the sniper in the Mess Tent, only to discover Radar had snuck in to fix himself a rather unusual sandwich.
--->'''Hawkeye:''' You'd risk your life for a ketchup on rye?!\
'''Radar:''' With butter and lettuce!
** On the subject of unusual sandwiches, in another episode, Hawkeye fixes him, B.J., and Father Mulcahy some sandwiches, by using peanut butter, jelly, lettuce, mayonnaise, ham, mayonnaise, turkey, mayonnaise, cheese, and more mayonnaise.
** In another episode, Charles starts dating a Korean B-girl, who apparently likes to spread vanilla pudding on her meatloaf.
** In the episode "Big Mac", the 4077th is prepared for a visit from Douglas [=MacArthur=], and is told that the General eats the exact same meals as the troops do, to which Hawkeye remarks, "Do he like his ice cream on top of his beef stew like we do?"
** When telling Radar to go to the mess hall to get oatmeal raisin cookies, Colonel Potter reminds him that the ones he likes are the ones with the stale raisins. He also likes Fig Newtons dipped in scotch.
** Klinger once mentions having a fondness for garlic pie.
** Most everyone at the 4077th does ''not'' like the chow in the mess hall, but in one episode, a visiting surgeon from the 8063rd claims it's good, saying that the food at ''his'' camp is bad. (That's where Hawkeye currently is, although when he comes back at the end, all he has to say about the place is that everyone thought he was boring.)
* ''Series/MyWorldAndWelcomeToIt'': In "Christabel," the title character (a poodle) is described as a frequent forager in the Monroe's garden, with a particular passion for raspberries and asparagus.
* ''Series/{{NCIS}}'': Timothy [=McGee=]'s sister, Sarah, enjoys pizza with pickles, Tabasco sauce, peanut butter, and no cheese. This becomes highly relevant to a murder case in which Sarah is the suspect: someone had spiked the jar of peanut butter she carries with her, causing her to believe she had killed a petty officer.
* Bizarre foods are a very common occurrence on ''Series/OddSquad'', and agents are more than willing to dive into them.
** In "The O Games", before the Blob Toss begins, Odd Todd licks a blob and remarks that it tastes like lemon. Made more horrifying by the fact that blobs are ''sentient creatures'' who are usually depicted as antagonistic. Similarly, Oprah enjoys blob on fish and chips as revealed in "Running on Empty".
** From "Negative Town", we have Olympia eating [[EatDirtCheap rock soup]] (read: soup with a rock in it) and Otis eating a sour cream cone. In the case of the latter, Olympia takes away the cone, and Otis is shown attempting to get a couple more licks in before she throws his cone and her own into the trashcan next to them.
** Orla, being an ancient 500-year-old warrior, is very fond of eating all kinds of weird food combinations from back in her day, such as scorpion pie and sekanjabins. She's also more than willing to chug hot sauce the same way one would chug beer, believing it's just juice that happens to taste like hot peppers, and eats loaves of bread whole instead of slicing them. "Sunny Sides Add Up" even has her making spider milk pudding and feeding it to Omar, who finds that it tastes good up until he's told exactly what he's eating, whereupon he drops the spoon in shock.
** At the end of "Sample of New York", New York Ms. O gives Oswald a canteen of the disgusting all-foods-in-one concoction she made earlier, and he reacts with glee. Directly after that, he and his teammates are shown attempting to consume pretzels and hot dogs on pizzas.
** In "Substitute Agents", one man is shown running a pizza shop where jellybeans and socks are among the toppings customers can choose to have on their pizzas.
** Star Wipe, a villainess who attacks with StarPower, enjoys eating food that moves, particularly worms. Featherites, who are BirdPeople, are the only other individuals seen enjoying worms.
* ''Series/OnlyFoolsAndHorses'': Del is fond of bizarre cocktails, like Baileys and cherryade, Tia Maria and Lucozade and Pernod and blackcurrant.
* ''Franchise/PowerRangers'':
** ''Series/PowerRangersMysticForce'': The resident CloudcuckooLander Chip eats a marshmellow, chicken and chocolate sauce pizza in the first episode. The others pause for a moment, then shrug it off as a part of UnusuallyUninterestingSight.
** ''Series/PowerRangersSamurai'': [[spoiler:Jayden's sister Lauren]] ''likes Mia's cooking''. '''[[LethalChef Mia]]'s. Cooking.'''
** ''Series/PowerRangersDinoCharge'': In episode 6, Poisandra tricks Fury into trying a piece of cake that causes a terrible toothache. After eating it, Fury says it needs more ''vinegar''.
* ''Series/{{Roswell}}'': The aliens put Tabasco sauce on almost all of their food and even [[{{Squick}} bake it into brownies.]]
* ''Series/RedDwarf'': Lister is said to have only one functioning taste bud left, due to eating too many [[TrademarkFavoriteFood curries]], which may account for his more unusual food choices. Probably his most normal favourite snack is a Sugar Puff sandwich, which is simply cereal on bread – contrast that with how he likes his cornflakes with grated raw onion and Tabasco sauce. He also invented the recipe for "shami kebab diablo", which contains [[CutASliceTakeTheRest one spoonful less than a whole can]] of chilli powder, and after a night out he enjoys a triple-fried-egg sandwich with chilli sauce and chutney (he claims to have found the recipe in "a book on bacteriological warfare"). And to drink, he likes beer milkshakes; also, as an early-morning pick-me-up he will drink chilled vindaloo sauce. On one occasion he also ate dog food (in admittedly dire circumstances) rather than consume a Pot Noodle, and he chowed down on grilled space weevil at one point -- although at least that one wasn't ''intentional'' on his part.
* ''Series/{{Supernatural}}'', episode [[Recap/SupernaturalS08E21TheGreatEscapist "The Great Escapist"]]: [[SubvertedTrope Subverted]] with Kevin's extremely specific and odd food requests being an ImpostorExposingTest.
-->'''Fake Sam:''' Garlic mashed potatoes, mixed greens with... baby lettuce, cornbread, and, uh, Pad Thai?
* ''Franchise/StarTrek''
** ''Series/StarTrekTheNextGeneration'': Worf is shown to have strange tastes in food, likely owed to his Klingon heritage. His adoptive human mother learned how to make Rokeg blood pie just for him (although neither she nor his human father could figure out how to ''eat'' it), his drink of choice at Ten Forward is prune juice (he declares it "a ''warrior's'' drink!"), he enjoys pasta al fiorella from Deep Space 9's replimat (which La Forge, who loves the dish, regarded as tasting like "liquid polymer"), and he is the only member of the ''Enterprise'' crew able to stomach [[LethalChef Riker]]'s 'Owon egg omelet.
*** After arriving at ''Deep Space Nine'' and finding his way to Quark's Bar for the first time, Worf ordered prune juice, surprising Quark, who had been expecting Worf to want the same blood wine every other Klingon in the bar was drinking at the time.
*** Mind you, even the Klingons think Worf's preference for prune juice is a bit odd. This leads indirectly to Worf beating several Klingon warriors senseless when they decide to mock him for it. Though one ExpandedUniverse novel implies it's not universal, since the Klingons actually start importing the beverage in droves after the Dominion War.
** ''Series/StarTrekDeepSpaceNine'': Jadzia Dax is also shown to have strange tastes in food, owing to the Dax symbiont having lived over 300 years in eight different hosts. Owing to Curzon Dax's lifelong association with Klingons, she likes Klingon foods. However in an ExpandedUniverse novel even Jadzia agrees with Quark that a human cheese sandwich is too disgusting to eat.
*** Jadzia's love of Klingon food comes back to haunt Ezri Dax, who does not care at all for Klingon food and winds up vomiting up a meal consisting of such food all over a runabout console. Ezri later expresses misgivings about attending Klingon ceremonies given that she would be expected to consume Klingon food, and even the thought of such food is enough to make her queasy.
* ''Franchise/SuperSentai'''s ''Series/SamuraiSentaiShinkenger'': Juzo actually likes Genta's sushi. Everyone else who tastes it considers it SoOkayItsAverage.
* ''Series/TheVoyageOfTheMimi'': Subverted and invoked in one episode, in which a character prepares a sandwich and describes all the ingredients in it. It's so disgusting it makes the person she's talking to throw up. It turns out she wasn't really planning on eating it -- she just thought that inducing vomiting might be a good way to help the other character stop feeling seasick.
* ''Series/TheWeirdAlShow'': Al sometimes goes to his kitchen for a "Nutrition Break", in which he makes things like split-pea cookies. Most of his creations contain non-edible things, however, which may fall under {{Extreme Omnivore}} instead. The ExpositoryThemeTune says that "he really makes a mighty fine jelly bean and pickle sandwich, for what it's worth."
 A pretty villainess in an episode of ''Series/TheWildWildWest'' enjoys Cherries Jubilee with molasses. Artie tries it and hates it.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Music]]
* ''Music/TheWiggles'': Dorothy's a dinosaur, obviously a tyrannosaurus rex of sorts complete with sharp-looking teeth, but [[CarnivoreConfusion it's OK]] because she eats... [[TrademarkFavoriteFood roses]].
* In Music/WeirdAlYankovic's [[Music/UHFOriginalMotionPictureSoundtrackAndOtherStuff “The Biggest Ball of Twine in Minnesota”]], the family brings along some strange food to eat during their vacation, chowing down on potato skins, pickled wieners, rhubarb pie, more pickled wieners, chocolate soda, and [[RuleOfThree even more pickled wieners]] along the way.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Pinball]]
* Much like [[WesternAnimation/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles1987 the source material]], the various pizza toppings available for the turtles in ''Pinball/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtlesStern'' are bizarre -- ranging from octopus to gummy bears to peanut butter.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Puppet Shows]]
* ''Series/SesameStreet'': Just about ''everything'' Oscar the Grouch eats falls into this territory. In fact, just look at some of the menu items at the grouch eatery Bad Eats' Don't Drop Inn from ''[[Film/SesameStreetPresentsFollowThatBird Follow That Bird]]'':
--> Fly Soup, Medium Rare Jell-O, Spaghetti with maple syrup, Meatloaf with marshmallow sauce, Candied clams with French dressing, Cream of garlic soup with maraschino cherries, Roast beef with butterscotch and anchovies, Ham of doughnut, among other things.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Tabletop Games]]
* ''TabletopGame/DungeonsAndDragons'': Beholders often have very, very strange food preferences, in large part because they have almost no sense of taste (their tongues are their primary manipulatory organ). Their main concerns are texture and appearance, as due to their eyestalks they can watch themselves eating. Some beholders are known to deliberately infest their victims with molds and fungi because they like the mouthfeel.
* ''TabletopGame/{{Exalted}}'' has a charm that allows a character to eat anything for sustenance, with the risk of developing a weird palate.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Video Games]]
* ''VideoGame/{{Arknights}}'': Vanguard operator Chiave expresses an interest in trying the pasta dish depicted in the "Wrath of Siracusans" item as part of a monthly squad in Integrated Strategies "Phantom & Crimson Solitaire". Said item is pasta with a sauce made from dark chocolate and Originium slug liver, and if the reaction of his friends is anything to go by, it doesn't appear to taste very good. [[GameplayAndStoryIntegration Possibly why Chiave is the one that benefits from the effect of "Wrath of Siracusans" the most in his gang.]]
* In ''VideoGame/{{Blazblue}}'', Mai Hazuki enjoys Noel Vermillion's cooking above all others thanks to her supertaster nature. Keep in mind that Noel's cooking is '''''[[LethalChef SO HORRIBLE]]''''' that the Military Academy used it as ''punishment''. The only other person capable of stomaching her cuisine is Hazama [[spoiler:(which could be owed to the fact that he's a HumanoidAbomination)]].
* The "Sinner's Sandwich" from ''VideoGame/DeadlyPremonition'' contains the unlikely combination of turkey, strawberry jam, and breakfast cereal. York gives it the name because he's convinced that Mr. Stewart eats it as some kind of self-inflicted punishment... until he tries one, and is amazed at how much he enjoys it (Those who have recreated it in real-life can attest that yes, it actually does work surprisingly well).
* ''VideoGame/DigimonWorld'': You know those piles of poop that your Digimon leaves behind if you fail to take him to the bathroom in time? They make [[SarcasmMode nice]] little (or not so little) [[{{Squick}} snacks]] for Numemon and Sukamon. Granted, these are creatures made of fecal matter.
* In ''VideoGame/DigimonStoryCyberSleuth'', Kyouko Kuremi has... interesting... taste in coffee additives. Like mayonnaise, anchovy paste, or strawberries. [[spoiler: Kyouko is possessed by Alphamon, who has no understanding of human comestibles.]] At the very end of the game, the player character makes ''him/herself'' a cup of mayonnaise coffee, implying they've developed a taste for the stuff.
* ''VideoGame/DwarfFortress'': Dwarves all have unique food preferences, which are randomly generated. For every dwarf who likes ale, cave wheat flour, and plump helmets, you'll get one who has a taste for aardvark, peppers, and radish wine.
* The Vath of ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyXIV'' have this as a ''species'' (kind of). One "perk" of being separate from the HiveMind is that they can eat what they want, ''when'' they want. This can range from somewhat reasonable (raw meat and sour apples) to absolutely absurd (the leathery hide of flying creatures). Doesn't quite cross over into ExtremeOmnivore as they don't usually seem to try eating things like rock or metal.
* ''Franchise/FireEmblem'':
** ''VideoGame/FireEmblemAwakening'':
*** The Avatar, AKA Robin, absolutely loves bear meat. A male Avatar's Supports with Frederick are centered around helping him develop a taste for bear meat. Chrom also enjoys bear meat, though not quite to the same extent as Robin. Even stranger, in the English version the translators also gave Robin a fondness for ''liver and eel pie'' of all things. However, given that this is [[NightmareFetishist Tharja]] who says this, this may be a joke.
*** According to Sumia, bee larva is a Ylissean delicacy. When she sees [[SweetTooth Gaius]] searching for beehives she assumes that he's looking for bee larvae and tries to help him find it. When Gaius explains that he was looking for honey, she says that she likes honey but not as much as bee larvae.
** ''VideoGame/FireEmblemThreeHouses'':
*** You can choose to have a meal with different characters when exploring the monastery and everyone has their favourite meals. However, [[TheEeyore Hapi]] is the ''only'' character who likes "Small Fish Skewers", which is noted to have an unpleasant, muddy aftertaste and as such as a very unpopular dish.
*** Dimitri proves to be the only person to be able to stomach [[LethalChef Flayn]]'s cooking, and has to be reminded by his retainer Dedue to ''please'' not eat the weeds when pulling them. [[spoiler:Sadly, this is because he lost his sense of taste due to psychological trauma. It's for this reason he likes food with distinct textures, and is one of the few people who isn't a fan of peach sorbet.]]
** Chloé from ''VideoGame/FireEmblemEngage'' is fond of "folk food". Among her likes are deep fried snake, boiled fish eyes, and gecko skewers.
* In the ''VideoGame/NancyDrew'' games, recurring character Professor Hotchkiss is fond of things like roast beef with caramel sauce or curried waffle sandwiches.
* ''VideoGame/PizzaTower'': The "secret ingredients" are... esoteric, to put it one way. They're not things one would expect on a pizza, including a can of beans, peanut butter, and a yellow box vaguely labelled as [[MysteryMeat "food"]].
* ''VideoGame/PokemonSwordAndShield'': The protagonists, and by extension, their Pokémon, can enjoy curries with some rather... ''unusual'' toppings, such as melted cheese, sliced apples, bananas, or even ''whipped cream''.
** The sequel ''VideoGame/PokemonScarletAndViolet'', keeps this going with the sandwiches you make on picnics, since the game includes ingredients usually not seen in sandwiches like tofu, potato salad or rice. The default recipes you find from other people at least make combinations that make sense, but when you're given free reign of them, you can end up making a tofu, kiwi, jalapeño, vinegar and prosciutto sandwich... and your characer and the Pokemon may actually enjoy it! For bonus points, the game includes the ingedients needed to recreate the Elvis Sandwich described at the begining of the article.
* In the ''VideoGame/RuneFactory'' series:
** Leon from ''VideoGame/RuneFactory4'' likes eating poisonous food or dishes made from poisonous food, like Rainbow Trout. He says that they are, and taste, "more interesting" than other, non-poisonous things.
** Similar to Leon, Ludmila from ''VideoGame/RuneFactory5'' also enjoys the poisonous Rainbow Trout (especially when it's salted), though this is less due to it being "interesting" and more due to her being an unabashed masochist.
** Reinhard from ''Rune Factory 5'' is said to have a poor sense of taste, and outright ''enjoys'' Failed and Disastrous Dishes--considering that they damage whoever eats them, they're quite a MasochistsMeal. This also means that he's an occasional LethalChef--normally he's a perfectly competent HouseHusband capable of cooking good meals, but when he makes something specifically to ''his'' tastes, it comes out terrifying (and if the player marries him, he'll even cheerfully present the occasional Failed/Disastrous dish to his spouse for lunch).
* What Gobbet from ''Videogame/ShadowrunReturns'' considers "delicious", most other people consider "disgusting" at best. [[PlayfulHacker Is0bel]] says Gobbet's favorite brand of cup noodle smells like insect repellent, and the Shadowland boards are full of horror stories about people who made the mistake of taking her restaurant recommendations. It comes with being a shaman with rat as her totem; she can eat things that would actually sicken most metahumans.
* In ''VideoGame/StarCraft'', the Zerg canonically eat the vespene and mineral crystals they harvest. Due to their HyperactiveMetabolism, they require a high-energy food, and vespene fits the bill. They also use the minerals from the crystals to grow up big and strong, with healthy teeth and bones. Drink your milk-I mean, eat your gems.
* Several of Rufus's victory quotes in ''VideoGame/StreetFighterIV'' consist of him talking about making sandwiches with random ingredient combinations.
* ''VideoGame/StrongBadsCoolGameForAttractivePeople:'' The episode "Homestar Ruiner" gives some odd insight into Strong Bad's taste. Homestar Runner is in Strong Bad's kitchen, trying to make a snack for Marzipan as a token of apology, and this exchange occurs:
-->'''Strong Bad:''' Sounds like a plan. How's it going?\
'''Homestar:''' Not so good. Marzipan's vegan, and most of the food in here contains meat, milk, [[BreadEggsBreadedEggs milky meat... or meaty milk]].\
'''Strong Bad:''' Hey, don't be dissin' my meaty milk!
* In ''VideoGame/SuikodenV'', Luserina Barrows is so outstandingly competent, loyal and morally upstanding (not to mention attractive,) that your army's detective will investigate her to find what sort of character flaw she's inherited from her slimy and buffoonish father. He finds that she... eats cake with salt.
* ''VideoGame/TwistedWonderland'': Lilia Vanrouge emphasizes nutritional content in his cooking at the expense of everything else, and thus is heavily implied to be a LethalChef. He once advises adding bananas and yogurt into savory soup to improve nutritional profile.
* In ''Uno Undercover Agent'' a seven- or eight-year-old makes lunch for her family of four. When her mother says that the sandwiches are delicious and asks what's in them, the kid replies "Mayonnaise, sardines, tomato and half a stick of gum."
* In ''VideoGame/XenobladeChroniclesX'', the Ma-non race love frozen pizza. Their introduction to the food has them sampling one such pizza ''without cooking it first''.
* ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfHeroesTrailsOfColdSteel III'' has Freddy, one of [[TheHero Rean's]] students from a different class who will make the most bizarre dishes made from plants from rocks or even bugs. One of his sidequests requires that Rean gather these ingredients and when he finishes, Rean ends up getting a taste out of the dish. Turns out that while there's some odd taste here and there, the dish itself isn't quite that bad.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Web Animation]]
* ''WebAnimation/AnimatorVSAnimation'': In the AVM short "Potions", it is shown that Blue likes eating nether wart, which is not actually edible in Minecraft. [[ContinuityNod Later]], in "Command Blocks", Blue can be seen snacking on it and offering it to Green.
* ''WebAnimation/EpithetErased'': Percy's standard breakfast is a slice of bread and a glass of water. On special occasions, she adds butter...to the ''water''. Then there's the pinecone milk and [[ExtremeOmnivore honey-covered screws]].
* Similar to the ''Garfield'' example, in ''WebAnimation/HomestarRunner'', [[http://www.homestarrunner.com/sbemail90.html Strong Sad once was disgusted at Strong Bad for putting ketchup on his eggs]].
** In one game of the site, Homestar's favorite snack the Bronco Trolley: peanut butter spread on a Triscuit and topped with an orange slice (with the peel intact). He also once seemed to enjoy Strong Bad's "Great Uncle Pawdabber's Pre-tend Ice Cream Showdown", until Marzipan told him that it was "like, cottage cheese and The Cheat's hair". Homestar is immediately grossed out because he was told [[ComicallyMissingThePoint it was SOUR CREAM and The Cheat's hair]].
** When The Cheat can't sleep, Strong Bad helps him out with a tall glass of Suudsu: skim milk and gummy bears, which Strong Bad has also had and insists is "G-E-W-D good!" Strong Bad also claims to enjoy Piemonade, which is... a slice of pie inside a glass of lemonade with ice cubes.
** Coach Z is occasionally seen getting drunk on Listerine. He also enjoys Sog Dogs, which are hot dogs cooked with Hydroelectric power (by which he means [[ComicallyMissingThePoint holding a hot dog in a bun under a hot shower]]. [[OurSloganIsTerrible Mmmm... Drink In that Bun!]].
** Basically anything The King of Town eats when it doesn't fall into the ExtremeOmnivore category.
** The Cheat once ordered a pizza with mushrooms and Pop Tarts.
* The ''Super Simple Songs'' channel has the ''Do you like..?'' series of songs, which are about two different foods (such as spaghetti and yogurt, for example). It asks if you like each individual food (which is answered with "Yes, I do!" twice), [[BreadEggsBreadedEggs but then it combines the foods together]] (in this example, spaghetti yogurt), in which the usual reply is "No I don't! YUCK!".
* Captain Salty from ''WebAnimation/SuperThings'', being a living salt shaker, prefers his food salty over sweet. This wouldn't be such an issue if he wasn't sharing such delicacies as ''anchovy cake''.

[[folder:Webcomics]]
* Inverted with Edith of ''Webcomic/AliceAndTheNightmare'', as Alice finds it bizarre that Edith's taste in desserts (vanilla ice cream) is so mundane.
* ''Webcomic/{{Freefall}}'' special: [[http://freefall.purrsia.com/ff1800/fc01712.htm week old buried raccoon]]. Not so surprising between a canine and a scavenger squid, of course.
** Sam also has no complaint about "The Golden Trough", a restaurant where the food is so bad that [[LethalChef cockroaches take one bite and die]].
** Ecosystems Unlimited executive Bill Raibert has a regular pizza order of sugar, coffee beans and [[BlazingInfernoHellfireSauce Carolina Reaper peppers]]; all clearly intended less for flavor, and more because he's a TripleShifter bar none and needs to stay awake whatever it takes.
* Thanks to his adopted family consisting of Chameleons, Jake Noel of ''Webcomic/{{Forestdale}}'' has come to enjoy the taste of bugs. His favorite sandwich being [[https://www.deviantart.com/rated-r-ponystar/art/Forestdale-25-Sandwitch-Flavors-919824709 'Crickets, Lettuce, and Tomato']].
* Jägermonsters from ''Webcomic/GirlGenius'' all seem to have developed strange appetites after being turned, though perhaps the preference for bugs just has to do with being from Mechanicsburg. Ognian is shown weirding out a waitress with his odd request for a sandwich that contains grease, lots of cheese and raw meat [[http://www.girlgeniusonline.com/comic.php?date=20100526 here.]]
* In ''Webcomic/{{Heartcore}}'', Amethyst likes barbecue sauce, which isn't strange in and of itself. What is strange is the fact that she loves it so much, she'll drink it straight out of the bottle.
* Mortimer from ''Webcomic/{{Newheimburg}}'' likes his pizza loaded down with every topping, including breadsticks.
* Emily from ''Webcomic/QuestionableContent'', after being told that Coffee of Doom's idea of a banana smoothie is a banana that's been smashed with a hammer, is disappointed to order and receive an ordinary banana smoothie. Eventually, Faye gets out a hammer and a banana...
** On another occasion, Emily had nothing but frozen peas for lunch. This came in handy when another character got a black eye and needed a cold pack.
* ''Webcomic/{{Selkie}}'': The title character's favorite food is raw fish eyes. While she offers to share, her grandfather is the only one to take her up on her offer.
* ''Webcomic/SweetBroAndHellaJeff:'' In [[https://www.homestuck.com/sweet-bro-and-hella-jeff/3 the third comic,]] Sweet Bro announces he's eating a hot dog with grape jelly spread atop it--though apparently this is a recipe he's trying for the first time. Hella Jeff laughs at him and wonders [[TheStoner how high you'd have to be]] to come up with that idea.

[[folder:Web Original]]
* Among the many subtly odd foods Jessica of ''Podcast/FatFrenchAndFabulous'' eats, she apparently spent the entirety of the Phantom of Heilbronn episode doing shots of Compliments ketchup.
* It appears to be the norm at ''Podcast/KakosIndustries'' to eat a number of wild animals such as bear arms and sheep fetuses served on a bed of seeds. Not a single average meal for catering their events has been listed yet.
* It is yet undiscovered just how WebVideo/TheNostalgiaCritic can eat sugar-frosted burrito-stuffed, lard-filled, liposuction-butter Hot Pockets all the time and still stay as skinny as he does.
* ASMR Creator [[https://www.youtube.com/c/ShadrachASMR ShadrachASMR]] reportedly LIVES this entire trope. According to his [[https://www.twitter.com/ShadrachASMR Twitter posts]], he has eaten bananas dosed in spaghetti sauce, bratwurst wrapped in a tortilla topped with spaghetti sauce, cherries mixed with mayonnaise and cheddar cheese, chocolate-covered mushrooms, mustard flavored sardine and Pringles Sandwich, pickles in marshmallows (Not ON them, but IN them!). Reportedly Shadrach has expressed interest in trying steak in Spaghetti-Os and squid burgers.
* ''WebVideo/Steve1989MREInfo'': Watching Steve eat [[WayPastTheExpirationDate decades-old out-of-date]] military rations is the centerpiece of the channel and he genuinely enjoys them not only for their historical value but as food.
* An initially not by choice version in the "WebVideo/StopBullyingNow" campaign. [[TheBully Brick]] dumps chocolate pudding in the macaroni and cheese on the tray of his favorite victim, Milton. After several other characters tell Brick to back off, Milton samples the tainted mac 'n' cheese and remarks that the chocolate pudding actually improves the mac, humiliating Brick. After Brick and his cronies leave, Raven, one of the characters to stand up to Brick, congratulates Milton on his burn and offers to share her own lunch with him, to which he gleefully eats another spoonful of his own and says "Actually I was serious. This is ''way'' better."
* A perfect example in ''WebVideo/WrecklessEating'' would be the can of French Toast Puree. In [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jq-ONBMHCyY "Don't Do That Chris"]], it made Chuck instantly throw up due to its weird texture, while Chris ''loved'' it.

[[folder:Western Animation]]
* ''WesternAnimation/AdventureTime'': Jake makes "the perfect sandwich", which starts out with choice ingredients but gets increasingly awkward as Jake shows a disregard for the sanctity of life.
-->'''Jake:''': [...] Diced Boiled Egg! [[BreadMilkEggsSquick Bird from the window!]][...] Tears for salt! Meat prepared sous vide! Bacon! You're the most important part of all!\
(''kisses the lobster and throws it into the boiling pot, only to ignore the lobster meat and waft [[YourSoulIsMine the dead lobster's spirit]] into the sandwich'')\
'''Jake:''' Lobster '''Soul'''.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Arthur}}'':
** Buster has bizarre tastes. He regularly gets strangely flavored ice cream, with sprinkles of stuff you wonder why they even have as options. Some ice cream flavours he's had include "Chocolate Chicken Crunch" (he doesn't know or care what makes the crunch), "Peppermint Pasta" (which he claims needs meatballs) and "Rocky Trout" (Chocolate ice cream with almonds and fish sticks).
** George's family is Swedish; he enjoys lutefisk. To quote MasochistsMeal: "Essentially, you take a perfectly good fish and let it rot slightly, then soak it in lye and smoke it. Then, you soak it in water to get all the lye out, boil it, and serve it with innocent mashed potatoes which had done nothing to deserve the treatment. The resulting substance often tastes like a science experiment gone tragically wrong." Also, see above. When George brings the lutefisk to class to share, everyone passes the tin around and groans, ''except'' for Buster, who sits at his desk munching it happily, George looking on with a smile. A bit later, when Binky passes out pecan pie made with pecans that he didn't shell, everyone is disgusted except for Buster, who says that he likes it.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Beetlejuice}}'' loves to eat beetles. Along with a brand of candy bar that has them called Good N Buggy.
* ''WesternAnimation/DannyPhantom'': Apparently, Danny and Tucker like "exotic" milkshakes. In reality, they are just milkshakes that just make someone in hearing range sick (Example: Kiwi Fudge with Cheese Puffs and Bacon).
* In one episode of ''WesternAnimation/DextersLaboratory'', Dexter requests a peanut butter and bologna sandwich for lunch.
* At one point on ''WesternAnimation/EdEddNEddy'', the Kanker Sisters are having ketchup on... roasted marshmallows. Ed's own [[TrademarkFavoriteFood loves]] are lampshaded in-universe in an episode where he is grounded and Jimmy is bringing him his favorite dish:
-->'''Jimmy:''' Buttered toast with gravy? People eat this?
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Futurama}}'':
** "[[Recap/FuturamaS1E2TheSeriesHasLanded The Series Has Landed]]" introduces Fry to 31st century breakfast staples such as "caffeinated bacon" and "baconated grapefruit".
** "[[Recap/FuturamaS2E5WhyMustIBeACrustaceanInLove Why Must I Be A Crustacean In Love]]" opens with Fry eating a hot dog filled with Bavarian cream.
* ''WesternAnimation/GarfieldAndFriends'':
** One episode has Garfield and Odie locked up in a kennel where -- [[PoundsAreAnimalPrisons among other things]] -- the food is so bad that even Garfield refuses to eat it. Odie, however, seems to like it, leading to a witty one-liner by Garfield: "You'd think a tongue like that would have decent taste buds."
** "Lemon Aid" has Garfield creating a "medium-size" (it's just taller than Jon) sandwich, with pretty much anything he could find. Including watermelon, whole fish, the telephone (which is still plugged in), Jon's shoes... and Odie, whom Garfield claims he mistook for liverwurst.
** "Unreal Estate" shows Garfield created an "alphabetical sandwich", a 26-ingredient sandwich where all ingredients are in alphabetical order: avocado, bologna, corned beef, deviled ham, fetta cheese, all the way down to zucchini. Later he also reveals ingredients P to T: peanut butter, quail, relish, salt and tomato. Unfortunately, he couldn't think of anything with X other than x-ray.
* ''WesternAnimation/GreenLanternTheAnimatedSeries'': Kilowog's preferred diet includes platefuls of worms (which he eats with JabbaTableManners) and something resembling a glazed facehugger. He's in turn rather disgusted after finding out about the "cheese" Hal is eating.
* In ''WesternAnimation/HollyHobbieAndFriends'', the {{Cloudcuckoolander}} Amy likes peanut butter and tuna fish sandwiches.
* In one episode of ''WesternAnimation/IAmWeasel'', the titular character gives a FlatWhat when I.R. Baboon uses his built-in [[Literature/TheMonkeysPaw monkey paw]] to wish for a "coyote and cheese sandwich".
* ''WesternAnimation/InfinityTrain'': Tulip Olsen likes to eat raw onions the way other people eat apples. When her best friend points this out, she retorts that she has a "sophisticated palate".
* ''WesternAnimation/KimPossible:'' When they are out on a date, Josh Mankey asks Kim what is the strangest food she likes. She admits that she likes to dip French fries in milkshakes. It's treated as just another thing she did to embarrass himself on her date, but this is actually not too rare in real life (by weird food standards); some people like to do that, and some at least tried doing that after watching this episode, and/or tried dipping fries in ice cream, which is similar.
* In ''WesternAnimation/TheLittleRascals'' episode "Beauty Queen for a Day", Porky offers Dolly Van Dumpling a mayonnaise and pickle sandwich. After she refuses, Porky eats the sandwich himself.
* ''WesternAnimation/LlamaLlama'': In "Saving Luna's Necklace", Nelly Gnu has a peanut butter and pickle sandwich for lunch and seems happy about it.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheLoudHouse'':
** Lincoln Loud enjoys plain ketchup sandwiches, as well as peanut butter and sauerkraut sandwiches.
** Lincoln's sister Lucy likes "[[TechnicalEuphemism extra well-done]]" (i.e. burnt) eggs, as seen when he cooks them for her in "Project Loud House".
* ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'' has so many examples. While the horses typically eat human foods (including some that are poisonous to real equines), they have been also seen to eat hay and grass (and a zebra eats hay as well).
** Then you have Pinkie Pie, who eats hot-sauce–covered cupcakes ("Friendship is Magic- Part 1") and burnt-to-a-crisp cupcakes ("Call of the Cutie") with nary a care.
** And then you have Spike the Dragon, who usually eats gemstones (although dragons do that in this universe), but he also ''enjoys'' the infamous "baked bads" in "Applebuck Season", which was made of potato chips, soda, lemons, and earthworms baked into muffins (and they made the rest of the town sick, including the aforementioned Pinkie Pie).
** "Sisterhooves Social" also gives us yet another example. Rarity's parents enjoy Sweetie Belle's cooking and actually praise her for it. She managed to turn toast into a charred, liquefied mess and ''burn a glass of juice''. That sure says something.
** And then we have the parasprites from "Swarm of the Century". They eat any and every sort of food until Twilight Sparkle casts a spell to stop them from doing so -- whereupon they start eating everything that ''isn't'' food.
** In the episode "Parental Glideance", we find out that Rainbow Dash's favourite meal is a pasta and potato sandwich on sourdough bread. Her mother explains it as "She just loved to carbo-load."
* ''WesternAnimation/OhYeahCartoons'': In the Herb cartoon, the [[AlmightyJanitor titular character]] serves the students their preferred lunch. This includes the likes of escargot pizza and oyster burgers. They all ask for some ketchup.
* Every iteration of Shaggy and ''Franchise/ScoobyDoo''. From liverwurst and fried chicken sandwiches to peanut butter pizza with anchovies and chocolate sauce (not to mention the "Shaggy Snack" from "Never Ape an Ape Man", which was "a potpie with pizza crust anchovies, pepperoni, cherries and all in a thick chocolate sauce"). Shaggy once even wanted to put fish food on his sandwich along with the other condiments, but he changed his mind when the goldfish in the tank got angry. He also eats Scooby Snacks (seen as far back as the season 1 episode "Decoy for a Dog Napper") and other dog biscuits (as seen in ''WesternAnimation/ScoobyDooAndTheAlienInvaders'').
** Scrappy also liked some strange things -- like ketchup on pancakes and whipped cream on pizza, which even Shaggy and Scooby were weirded out by.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons'':
** Homer Simpson, being a BigEater verging on ExtremeOmnivore, has made some pretty disturbing concoctions over the long run of the series, enough that an exhaustive listing would be far too long for this wiki. Perhaps the best-known is his "patented space-age out-of-this-world Moon Waffle", which consists of waffle batter, an entire bag of caramels, and Liquid Smoke, served wrapped around an entire stick of butter. He also eats ketchup on his salad, eggnog on cereal (during the 30 sweet noggy days before the government takes it away again), and has made cocktails including rum and zinc, mayonnaise and vodka, and the Flaming Homer (aka the Flaming Moe), made up of the last bits of random liquor plus cough syrup, as well as a pie made of cloves, Tom Collins mix, and a frozen pie crust (although this was too disgusting even for him).
** The Flanders are sometimes shown as having absurdly ''[[PlainPalate bland]]'' taste in food: In "Home Sweet Homediddly-Dum-Doodily", their idea of a dessert is "non-fat ice milk" ("I want wintergreen." "Unflavored for me."). In "Viva Ned Flanders", Ned rejects any kind of peanut butter, preferring plain white bread that he'd dip in ''water''. In "Dude, Where's My Ranch?," Ned claims that his favourite popsicle flavour is plain.
* In ''WesternAnimation/TheSmurfs1981'' episode "The Grumpy Gremlin", the eponymous gremlin's favorite food is grelch, a relish made from wild onions and garlic that smells pretty foul, likely why the gremlin has no friends (well, that and the fact that [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin he's pretty grumpy]]) but the gremlin eventually makes friends with a dragon who also loves grelch.
* ''WesternAnimation/SpongeBobSquarePants'':
** In "Something Smells", [=SpongeBob=] indulges in a homemade sundae consisting of ketchup, onions, and a peanut plant. In "[[Recap/SpongeBobSquarePantsS13E11SquidferatuSlappyDays Squidferatu]]", he enjoys the taste of dried mummy fingers when dining at Nosferatu's castle.
** "You Don't Know Sponge" reveals that Patrick's favorite flavor of ice cream is "Dill Pickle Swirl" with extra mustard and bacon bits. "[[Recap/SpongeBobSquarePantsS5E13PictureDayPatNoPayBlackjack Picture Day]]" implies he also likes peanut butter and jelly on tacos instead of bread slices.
** According to Squidward in "[[Recap/SpongeBobSquarePantsS13E22MyFriendPattyFUNBelievable FUN-Believable]]", Rube puts mustard in his milkshakes.
* ''WesternAnimation/StevenUniverse'':
** Steven has placed [[Recap/StevenUniverseS1E4TogetherBreakfast popcorn on a stack of waffles]] and substituted [[Recap/StevenUniverseS0E7CookingWithLion tuna with cheese puffs]] in sushi. He's also been seen [[Recap/StevenUniverseS1E32FusionCuisine decorating a cake with cheese puff balls]], and [[Recap/StevenUniverseS5E21TheQuestion once]] insinuated that he likes to eat flour and sugar by themselves.
** Onion seems to be the only person who enjoys Guacola (a soda made out of concentrated avocado, which everyone found outright repulsive), despite him seemingly disliking food in general.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles|1987}}'':
** The Turtles loved their [[TrademarkFavoriteFood pizza]] but the toppings ranged from insane to ''worse''. [[https://web.archive.org/web/20210313221947im_/https://libertycruise.nyc/content/uploads/articles/every-pizza-the-ninja-turtles-ordered-7_lighterfx_80per.png Examples included]]: Tuna fish, peanut butter and grape jelly. Peanut butter and clams. Peanut butter, avocado, and extra pickles. Marshmallow and pepperoni. Marshmallow and asparagus. Guacamole and Marshmallow. Butterscotch, onions, and anchovies. Tea and toast. Chocolate sprinkles and clam sauce. Chocolate-chip. Chocolate fudge with extra garlic. Chocolate fudge, sardine, chili pepper, whipped cream. Anchovies and hot fudge. Pepperoni and hot fudge. Pepperoni and pickles. Jellybean and sausage. Salami pizza with double yogurt. Shredded coconut and sweet pickles. Strawberry with anchovy sauce. Hot oatmeal. Popcorn. Anchovies and bananas. Granola and licorice. [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking Goulash]].
*** There are people who have actually tried some of these weird combinations in real life and liked them.
** One episode opens with Leonardo and Michelangelo grocery shopping; Leo urges him to think healthier, saying "you had peanut butter and jelly on your pizza last night". Mikey objects, saying [[NotHelpingYourCase it was caramel and chocolate fudge.]]
** One ''truly'' bizarre example was Irma's birthday, where Michelangelo brought ice cream pizzas with such flavors as garlic-vanilla and anchovy-butterscotch.
** The 1990 chapter book ''Sky High'' has them get pizza with a mix of normal toppings (green peppers, onions, mushrooms, anchovies, tomatoes and chili peppers) and weird ones (salami, tuna, pecans and chocolate buttons). At Splinter's incredulous reaction, Raphael shrugs and says they made the mistake of letting Michelangelo order. Afterward, when Splinter has told them what ''he'' prefers (green tea, boiled rice and sushi, which the turtles in turn find bizarre -- Raphael claims that green tea tastes like lawn clippings, and Michelangelo is not enthused by sushi, saying it's "just raw fish") and left the room, Leonardo is noted as carefully picking the chocolate off his slice.
** Some other characters on the show had odd tastes in pizza toppings. One time Michelangelo got a job at a pizza delivery place called Weird Pizza to make money; the place said it would put ''any'' topping on a pizza that a customer requested. (Shredder was actually running the place, hoping to attract the Turtles to it due to their odd tastes). Anyway, Mikey ended up delivering some pizzas with ''very'' odd requests, like pickles and ice cream. (To [[WackyCravings a woman in her third trimester]], it seemed.)
* ''WesternAnimation/TeenTitans'':
** Starfire is an alien which apparently gives her some pretty wild tastes in food. One early episode has her drinking mustard straight out of the bottle. In another, she suggests ordering pickles, bananas, and mint frosting on a pizza.
** Terra happily eats one of Starfire's meals, as it's implied WalkingTheEarth has given her a very broad palate (or just low standards).
* On ''WesternAnimation/ToddWorld'', Todd and his talking dog Benny both enjoy caramel-covered sardines with ketchup and coconut, while Todd and his friend Pickle both enjoy making and eating banana lima bean splits together. None of this is treated as unusual, as the show's titular setting of [=ToddWorld=] is a mild {{Cloudcuckooland}}.
* ''WesternAnimation/XavierRiddleAndTheSecretMuseum'': In "I Am Neil Armstrong", Xavier is seen making different sandwiches with weird food combinations. His younger sister Yadina prefers still strange but simple cheese and (grape) jelly sandwiches, everyday.
