* Derek and Danny in ''Film/AmericanHistoryX'' after they become disillusioned with the Neo-Nazi movement.
* In the documentary ''Film/AnArcticTale'', the male polar bear is the main villain for most of the film, but near the end [[spoiler:he shows compassion for Nanu, the polar bear protagonist, and shares his kill with her]]. Nanu later finds a mate, but we do not know if it is the same bear.
* In the 1982 film version of ''Film/{{Annie|1982}}'', Miss Hannigan does a major one near the end. She had always been mean to Annie, a lush, and a less than ideal ward to the orphans. But when she realizes that Rooster [[spoiler:chases after Annie hoping to kill her after she tears up the check]], she tries to prevent him from doing so.
* In ''Film/Annie2014'', [[spoiler:Hannigan, after Guy betrays her by hiring the fake parents himself and cutting her out of the deal. She ends up feeling really guilty over her part of the plan to have Annie's "real parents" come take her away, and enlists the girls to get her to Stacks so she can confess]].
* ''Film/ArmyOfFrankensteins'':
** Igor starts off as the assistant of a MadScientist, but when he dies, he ends up teaming up with Alan to stop the Frankensteins and get back home.
** The Frankensteins are calmed down by a war nurse who realized that they were only rampaging out of panic from too much dimensional travel, and are convinced to fight to end slavery out of empathy for the black community's marginalization.
** [[spoiler:Lieutenant Swanson gets tired of Walton's abuse and throws him to the Frankensteins to be torn apart, being allowed to leave for his assistance.]]
* ''Film/AustinPowers'': [[BeleagueredAssistant Number 2]] attempts one in ''International Man of Mystery'' before he's eliminated by Dr. Evil. Mini-Me successfully performs one in ''Austin Powers in Goldmember'' once Dr. Evil replaces him with Scott, and [[BigBad Dr. Evil]] himself makes the turn upon learning that [[spoiler:he is Austin's long-lost brother Doug]]. Fat Bastard also has a change of heart.
* Cameron Diaz's character from ''Film/BadTeacher'' starts out a {{Golddigger}} and an ApatheticTeacher, but after her talk with Garett about his crush she realizes she is no different from anyone else and becomes the school's guidance counselor.
* In ''Film/BeautyAndTheBeast2017'', [=LeFou=] gradually starts to find Gaston's behavior questionable and quietly redeems himself, even saving Mrs. Potts during the final battle, and unlike his animated counterpart is seen among the guests at the royal castle at the end of the film.
* ''Film/BlazingSaddles''.
** Lili Von Shtupp (Hedley Lamarr's henchwoman). Ordered to "seduce and abandon the sheriff of Rock Ridge", instead she falls for him and goes over to his side.
** Mongo (Taggart's henchman) turns to the side of Good [[DefeatEqualsFriendship after Sheriff Bart blows him up]] with a Candygram bomb. ("Sheriff first man ever whip Mongo! Mongo impressed!")
* ''Film/BoardingSchool'': [[spoiler:Mrs. Ramsay comes back to the school to pick up her son, not wanting the killer to kill him as she hired him to. Unfortunately, he's already killed the boy and kills her to keep her quiet.]]
* In ''Film/{{Byzantium}}'' [[spoiler: Darvell decides to turn on the Brethren and save Clara's life rather than blindly follow their rules any longer. In the end he asks to journey with her in the hopes she can forgive him for standing by all those years ago.]]
* Captain Louis Renault, in ''Film/{{Casablanca}}''. It's arguable how much of this is heel-face turn and how much of it is a hidden Face awaiting the moment when his turn will do the greatest good. However it qualifies under the criteria that the audience isn't sure what side he's on until he makes his stand.
* ''Film/TheChristmasThatAlmostWasnt'': The BigBad Prune, after spending the whole film being a ChildHater and CardCarryingVillain, finally recovers his forgotten childhood when he receives a sailboat he had wished for as a child; his StartOfDarkness was indeed when he never got it and decided his childhood just didn't happen. The moment the turn occurs is as we see Prune gripping his sailboat at the end, and it's hammered home when he gives it to a little boy at the ''very'' end!
* In ''Film/TheCookTheThiefHisWifeAndHerLover'', Cory the pimp starts as a member of Spica's gang, but gets ejected after he resists Spica's brutal treatment of his girls. He ultimately joins the final confrontation with Spica.
* ''Film/CreatureWithTheAtomBrain'': Mob boss Buchanan's hitman and accountant both went straight after testifying against him.
* In ''Film/CrimsonPeak'', even though [[spoiler: [[BlueBeard Sir Thomas Sharpe]]]] starts out the movie plotting Edith's death and slowly poisoning her, he eventually starts trying to protect her from his partner in crime, [[spoiler: [[SerialKiller his sister]]]], instead. This culminates at the end of the film, when he [[spoiler: [[BecomingTheMask confesses that he has really come to love Edith,]] and [[RedemptionEqualsDeath gives his life trying to convince his sister not to kill her.]]]]
* ''Film/TheDarkCrystal'': Completely subverted with the Chamberlain. Defrocked and kicked out of the Skeksis' castle, he makes obvious peace overtures to Jen and Kira. When Jen stabs him for his pains, his friendly façade completely drops and he tries to kill Jen and promptly drags Kira back to the castle to redeem himself in the eyes of the other Skeksis. It's pretty clear that his promises of peace are blatant lies and his whole motivation is to capture a Gelfling or two in order to ingratiate himself with the rest of the Skeksis and get his position back.
* [[DoubleSubversion Double subverted]] with Frankie in ''Film/{{Daybreakers}}''. First he pretends to ally with his brother, just to attack Elvis the very next moment. However, because HumanityIsInfectious, he turns human to complete his HeelFaceTurn and subsequently [[RedemptionEqualsDeath redeem himself]].
* In ''Film/DeathRidesAHorse'', Ryan was a member of Walcott's gang before being double-crossed. However, he didn't participate in any of their rapes and murders, and assists Bill in stopping them when he gets out of prison. Bill lets him live due to this fact.
* In ''Film/DisturbingThePeace'', Jarhead turns against Diablo after he learns of Diablo's plan to blow up the church where the townsfolk are being held prisoner. After he is arrested by Marshal Dillon, Dillon is able to persuade him to aid him in the fight against Diablo and the gang by appealing to their [[SemperFi shared heritage as marines]].
* In ''Film/ErnestGoesToJail'' we have Lyle, TheDragon to [[BigBad Felix Nash]]. Over the course of the movie he's already the TokenGoodTeammate to a degree, at least going along with Ernest's {{Zany Scheme}}s to escape prison, but is ultimately won over by Ernest's heart of gold: he knocks out Ruben, helps Ernest bust out of prison, and sends him after Nash.
* The good guys in ''Film/EscapeToAthena'' easily convince Major Hecht to join them. To establish it before the turn, he is shown to be a PunchClockVillain who is displeased to work with the SS.
* ''Franchise/TheFastAndTheFurious'':
** Gisele is on Braga's payroll in ''Film/FastAndFurious'', but helps Dom and Brian thwart his plans after the former saves her life. By ''Film/FastFive'', she readily answers Dom's call for help and joins his team from then on.
** Letty in ''Film/FastAndFurious6'', to an extent. While she sides with Owen, it's because she has no memories of her former team, and she feels conflicted about it throughout the whole movie. She begins thinking on switching sides upon being disgusted by Owen's morality, and does initiate it after Dom saves her life during a mission.
** Both Shaw brothers, Owen and Deckard, in ''Film/TheFateOfTheFurious''. Deckard becomes VitriolicBestBuds with Hobbs, while Owen assists his brother to save Dom's baby. The later films seem intent to humanize Deckard as much as possible while erasing all traces of his previous villainy; he is given [[Film/HobbsAndShaw a spin-off film]] exploring his friendship with Hobbs.
** Jakob at the end of ''Film/{{F9}}'' when Otto betrays him and almost kills him. After Dom saves him, he comes to aid in stopping Otto on the transport truck.
* In ''Film/FindingNeverland'', though Emma is not an evil person, she is the only main character who is consistently antagonistic towards James Barrie. Her attitude changes completely as a result of seeing ''Theatre/{{Peter Pan|1904}}'' and [[spoiler:Sylvia dying]].
* ''Film/FoolsParade'': Train conductor Hampton takes a bribe to lure Appleyard and his friends into an ambush where they will be robbed and killed, but ultimately can't do it, warns them, gives them his bribe money, and helps them escape from their pursuers at other points in the film.
* In ''Film/TheFreakmaker'', the other freaks manage to persuade the dwarf Burns (who is Lynch's chief henchman) that by aiding Lynch he is not helping the freaks' cause, but actually making things worse. He leads the freaks when they rise up and turn on Lynch.
* In ''Film/GetShorty'', Bear starts as a thug for Bo Catlett, but eventually switches to Chili's side.
* In ''Film/GIJoeRetaliation'' [[spoiler:Storm Shadow performs one after he finds out that Zartan was the one who framed him for the murder of his and Snake Eyes' master.]]
* ''Franchise/{{Godzilla}}'':
** Godzilla himself goes from city-destroying villain to world-saving hero during the 1960s-1970s. His Heel Face Turn occurred when Mothra convinced him and Rodan to fight [[BigBad King Ghidorah]] in the 1964 film ''Film/GhidorahTheThreeHeadedMonster''.
** Likewise, there's Battra from ''Film/GodzillaAndMothraTheBattleForEarth'', who, sadly [[spoiler:ends up dying while trying to stop Godzilla]].
** Gigan undergoes one in ''Godzilla Island''. [[spoiler: Like Battra, Gigan ends up sacrificing himself to save the world.]]
** In the latter half of ''Film/GodzillaKingOfTheMonsters2019'', one of the eco-terrorists defects to help the heroes once she realizes the BigBad King Ghidorah is a threat to all life on Earth. [[AdaptationalJerkass Rodan]] spends the later half of the film being Ghidorah's [[TheDragon closest servant]], but after Ghidorah is killed, he submits to Godzilla as the new alpha titan.
* In the ''Theatre/{{Hairspray}}'' musical, both Velma and Amber Von Tussle are redeemed through the power of THE BEAT, but in [[Film/{{Hairspray|2007}} the film adaptation]], only Amber seems to have one; accepting her loss and walking away from her mother to talk and dance with one of the black dancers.
* ''Film/TheHairyBird'': When Abby, the AlphaBitch, learns what her parents have been planning for Miss Godards, she does this.
* ''Film/HanselAndGretelWarriorsOfWitchcraft'': The surviving members of sacrifice cult the Circle are redeemed by memory wipe when their leader is killed.
* In ''Film/HardBoiled'', [[spoiler:Mad Dog shoots his Triad boss when he opens fire on a group of civilians who were in his way.]]
* In ''Film/Hellboy2019'', Nimue's first defeat way back when wouldn't have been possible if not for the betrayal of at least one member of her own witch coven. It's implied that this witch had a hand in forging Excalibur, the only weapon capable of actually wounding Nimue.
* In ''Film/InglouriousBasterds:''
** Sgt. Hugo Stiglitz, a former Nazi enlisted man who turned on his superiors and murdered 16 Gestapo officers before being jailed, condemned to death, and ultimately rescued and recruited by the Basterds. Granted it's implied he's simply a serial killer, but he's at worst a SoftSpokenSadist and all his murder victims are the decidedly more evil Nazis, which is heroic enough for this list.
** [[spoiler:the main villain Hans Landa discovers the Basterds' plot to kill Hitler and decides to help them, striking a deal with the Allies and generously demanding medals for the Basterds' bravery. This is all subverted by the fact that Landa is acting purely on whim and self-interest, and is still a total slimeball. Ultimately Aldo is well aware of this, and treats him accordingly.]]
* In ''Film/IpMan2'', [[spoiler: RivalTurnedEvil Jin]] is now on the good side.
* [[OpposingSportsTeam The Cobra Kai students]] at the end of ''Film/TheKarateKid''. Made apparent at the start of the second film where Johnny accepts his loss and he and his friends leave the dojo. Their sensei, on the other hand, remains evil throughout the series.
* The ''Film/JamesBond'' movies have a few:
** Pussy Galore in ''Film/{{Goldfinger}}'' was part of the titular villain's plan to assault Fort Knox, but Bond convinces her to sabotage his plan, which becomes the beginning of his downfall.
** Dr. Kutze in ''Film/{{Thunderball}}'' was main villain Largo's scientist, but appalled after seeing him torture his mistress Domino, throws the bomb fuses overboard and frees Domino. {{Lampshade|Hanging}}d by Largo's henchwoman Fiona; "But of course, I forgot your ego, Mr. Bond. James Bond, who [[SexFaceTurn only has to make love to a woman]], and she starts to hear heavenly choirs singing. [[HighHeelFaceTurn She repents, and turns to the side of right and virtue]]...but not this one!"

** Octopussy and her group in ''Film/{{Octopussy}}'' were part of Kamal Khan's Fabergé Egg-smuggling plot (and in fact, Octopussy seemed to be his boss), but when he teams up with a RenegadeRussian who plans to engineer a nuclear explosion and realises that she, her crew and thousands of innocents would have been caught up in the explosion, they turns against him.

* ''Film/LetThereBeLight2017'':
** Sol gets portrayed this way to a mild degree, though he's only a jerk at worse. He converts from an atheist zealot to Christian once again as a result of a NearDeathExperience seeing his dead son.
** Pastor Vinnie, a minister who he talks with, is a straighter example. He was a mobster who found God in prison and left his criminal lifestyle.
* Captain Gerd Wiesler from ''Film/TheLivesOfOthers'' is the brutal, hyper-efficient, seemingly emotionless VillainProtagonist/renowned [[SecretPolice Stasi]] master interrogator who is is ordered by his corrupt, morally bankrupt superiors to spy on a playwright just because the East German Minister of Culture lusts after his girlfriend. A dedicated socialist, Gerd begins to empathize with the people he is spying on, [[EvenEvilHasStandards becomes disgusted when he learns of the petty reasoning behind the operation]], and becomes severely disillusioned with not only his own job and the East German government in general, but also his own life, which is completely devoid of any real connections to other people. He begins lying to his bosses to cover up his targets' actions while also helping them to mend their relationship issues and, by the end of it, [[spoiler: he willingly destroys his own career just to save a man he's never actually met's life.]] After the fall of the Iron Curtain the the reunification of Germany, [[spoiler: he lives a seemingly happier life as a postman, and the playwright ultimately anonymously dedicates his latest work to him in gratitude.]]
