* Even when Mario was a newborn, [[BigBrotherInstinct he has always been very protective of Luigi]]. Starting by this game, is established that they are twins, who by default share a bond more powerful compared to most siblings, and after meeting the Yoshis, Baby Mario is immediately able to sense where Baby Luigi is with their telepathic bond, and urges them to go rescue him. Not only this predicts Mario becoming a legendary hero in the Mushroom Kingdom after growing up, but after he and Luigi reach adulthood, nothing has changed, with their strong brotherly love leading them to help and rescue each other no matter what, and they're still very close. Once a good bro, always a good bro.
* The Yoshis will ''[[{{Determinator}} stop at nothing]]'' to reunite the Baby Mario and Luigi. The fact that Baby Bowser's [[EverythingTryingToKillYou entire army is now after them]] doesn't even perturb the dinos in the least.
* The ending to the first game, as the stork carries the Baby Mario Bros. to their home and the part where their parents are holding them with the text saying "Our heroes are born!", which ends with a nice little remix of the Stage Clear fanfare from the original Super Mario Bros. It's sweet since it's not really an ending but rather a beginning to the story of the Super Mario Bros.
** Especially thanks to the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZV8PCuLQ-v0 surprisingly beautiful music]] when the stork is carrying the babies home through the night sky.
*** However, this becomes HarsherInHindsight when ''New Island'' reveals that the parents at the end? [[HappyEndingOverride They were the wrong parents]].
*** And then the ending for that game, "Our heroes are born--for real this time!"
* It's kinda twisted, but really, the fact that Kamek cared enough about his future boss to try and rewrite the future says a lot about his loyalty.
* Baby Yoshi hatching from his egg at the end of ''Yoshi's Island DS''. He is tooth-rottingly adorable.
* Baby Bowser joining the group for a few levels in ''DS''. Remember at the end of the original game he wasn't evil (yet), he was just a noisy brat who was demanding a ride on Yoshi. Now he finally gets his wish.
* A message box in World 3-2 of the original game reads, "We, the Mario team poured our hearts and souls into creating this game for your entertainment. It is full of secrets. Enjoy!"
* For a rather cute little EasterEgg, throw an egg at Poochy and he'll play with it like a ball.
* Winning the Flip Cards and Match Cards Bonus Challenges exposes a 10-Up card with an elated Yoshi raising his arms in triumph.
