* This piece of dialogue:
-->'''Sanka:''' Derice, you dead?\
'''Derice:''' No, mon. I'm not dead. [[TearJerker We have to finish the race.]]
* After Junior's awesome moment of standing up to his overbearing father, the last we see of the old man is the lift doors closing across his stunned face as Junior comes to terms with the fact that he's let his father down once and for all. He doesn't appear again... until at the very end of the movie, when as the team are carrying their sled across the line, Junior looks into the cheering crowd to see his father, pulling his jacket open to show off his Jamaica bobsled team shirt and [[SoProudOfYou smiling with teary-eyed pride]].
* When Derice goes to recruit Sanka to be part of his bobsled team he initially tries to play to Sanka's ego as the best push cart racer in Jamaica. However Sanka [[HiddenDepths doesn't take the bait for a second]] and instead tells Derice that if he really wants Sanka's help then he just needs to sincerely ask for it [[TrueCompanions because they're best friends.]]
* Sanka? Ya dead?
* The SlowClap started by the East German who had been one of the rudest to the Jamaicans and capped off by the very official who had tried to get them disqualified:
-->'''Josef Grool:''' "''Sehr gut'', Jamaica. We'll see you in four years, ''ja''?"
* Junior encouraging Yul to keep pursuing his dreams. This is despite the fact that Yul has treated him like crap from the day they met. It's telling that he starts to warm to him after this.
-->'''Sanka''': Face it, Yul Brenner, you can start calling yourself Madonna, but you're still going to end up in an outhouse shanty like every other dock working nobody.
-->'''Junior''': Says who?
-->'''Sanka''': Says me, rich boy! What do you know about it?
-->'''Junior''': Well, I know my father started off in a one-room hut. Now he lives in one of the biggest homes in Kingston.
-->'''Sanka''': Well, ''he'' ain't your father.
-->'''Junior''': He doesn't have to be. All he has to do is know what he wants and work hard for it. And if he wants it bad enough, he'll get it. Look, believe me, Sanka, the more Yul Brenners we got making it in this world, the better off this world will be, especially for Jamaicans. ''(to Yul)'' Go on, Yul Brenner. Go get your palace.
* Later on, Yul teaches Junior how to find his own strength. [[GoneHorriblyRight Even if it works too well at first]].
-->'''Yul:''' Look in the mirror, and tell me what you see!
-->'''Junior:''' I see Junior.
-->'''Yul:''' You see Junior? Well, you wanna know what I see? I see pride! I see POWER! I see a bad-ass mother who don't take ''no'' crap off of ''nobody''!
* It's easy to miss, but the girl that Sanka dances with at the bar is the nicest person to him upon their first meeting during the whole movie. In a later shot during that same scene, they've even swapped hats.
* The conversation between [[BrokenAce Irv]] and [[SpiritedCompetitor Derice]] the night before the final race.
-->'''Derice''': Hey, Coach, I have to ask you a question. But... you don't have to answer if you don't want to. I mean, I want you to, but if you can't, I understand.
-->'''Irv''': [[MyGreatestFailure You wanna know why I cheated, right?]]
-->'''Derice''': Yes, I do.
-->'''Irv''': That’s a fair question. It’s quite simple really. [[BrutalHonesty I had to win]]. You see, Derice, I’d made winning my whole life, and when you make winning your whole life, you have to keep on winning. No matter what. You understand that?
-->'''Derice''': [[GoodCannotComprehendEvil No, I don’t understand, Coach]]. Ya had two gold medals. Ya had it all.
-->'''Irv''': Derice... A gold medal is a wonderful thing. But if you’re not enough without it, you’ll never be enough with it.
-->'''Derice''': ''[considers this, troubled]'' Hey, Coach... How will I know if I'm enough?
-->'''Irving''': ''[knowing smile]'' When you cross that finish line, [[YouAreBetterThanYouThinkYouAre you'll know]].
** What makes this scene is that this is probably the first time someone has ever asked Irving that question without judgment or cynicism. And it's a conversation between two peers, two Olympians, and probably the only two people in the world who can truly understand each other. The student gains clarity in truth, and the master gains peace in honesty. He also helps ensure that his student won't make the same mistakes he did.
** And, in the end, after the Jamaicans crash and lose all hope of winning any medals, Derice and his team carry their sled, and [[TheDeterminator cross the finish line]]. The cheering crowds, the encouragement from rivals, and the exchanged thank-yous and hug between Derice and Irv is proof that, yes, Derice, his team, and Irv ''are'' enough without their medals.
* Yul coming to Junior's defense after Grool shoves him over. Junior repays him with some GrievousBottleyHarm. Topping off the Jamaican camaraderie, as soon as Sanka realizes [[BarBrawl what's going on]], he doesn't wait a moment to [[SugarWiki/FunnyMoments yippee-ki-yay]] into the East German team.
** And after the fight, Yul explaining to Derice that he started it after "that East German fellow shoved my teammate". Earlier in the movie, Yul had emphatically stated "I am ''no one's'' teammate." Now they are FireForgedFriends.
* The crowd back home cheering on their hometown boys, particularly this:
-->'''Announcer:''' Where did these guys come from?
-->'''Bar Crowd: [[PatrioticFervor JAMAICAAAAA]]!!!'''
* Blizter's entire speech to the Alliance after they disqualify his team. He pleads that the only person who should be punished is him since he's the only one who did anything wrong and the Jamaicans don't deserve to become collateral damage.
