----
* It's pretty clear that Jimmy loves his mom, despite the tense interaction they have in the opening cinematic. When Gary insults her by saying she made her "living on her back", Jimmy goes berserk. He will also sometimes make idle comments about her, wondering what she's up to or considering writing a letter to her.
* Jimmy and Zoe seem to click almost instantly. They share common interests and attitudes and seem to genuinely have fun when they're together, engaging in playful banter and mischief with one another. It feels refreshing to find a person who actually seems to like our protagonist as a person, and to see him to reciprocate the feeling.
* Despite treating Petey like crap for pretty much the entire game, Jimmy proves at the end that he truly does care for him: Upon defeating Gary and untying Dr. Crabblesnitch, the latter tells the former that Petey should be the school's Head Boy (previously held by the now-expelled Gary), to which Jimmy agrees. Aww.
*** Add to that their final words to each other:
---->Jimmy: Now, about that letter to my mother...
---->Crabblesnitch: What letter?
* Jimmy in general is this - He's quite a Jerkass who often acts out for the sake of payment, though he has plenty of moments where he goes out of his way to help people, including:
** Helping Brandy destroy lawn gnomes that she feels are a mockery of her dwarfism.
** Helping Mandy cover up the embarrassing posters of her Earnest made.
** Helping Beatrice get her papers back from Mandy.
** Helping Zoe get revenge on Burton for getting her expelled for reporting him for sexual harassment. Then getting her expulsion lifted.
** Trying to extend an olive branch to clique leaders he has beaten, who weren't completely jerks.
** Helping Galloway cover up his alcoholism.
** Helping Edna get a date. This one being rather questionable due to the plan involving drugging the science teacher so Edna could have her way with him in private. Then again, DoubleStandardRapeFemaleOnMale.
** Using Crabblesnitch's gratefulness for being rescued to convince him to reinstate people who were expelled, give the meeker classmates the attention they deserve, and get a particularly abusive teacher fired.
** Last but not least, the whole reason for his crusade earning the respect of every clique at school, to stop the bullying.
** It's optional, but just listen to Eunice's voice if Jimmy put the moves on her. It obviously makes her day.
* Pretty much all of the interactions between Mr. Galloway and Jimmy, both in class and outside of it. His alcoholism aside, Galloway is pretty much the epitome of a CoolTeacher and even compliments Jimmy for his achievements in class.
--> Galloway: I think you have the makings of a Poet Laureate.
** There's a popular mutated version of this line since it sounds a lot like Galloway telling Jimmy he has the makings of a poet warrior instead. Which arguably fits him even better.
** Adding to that, while nearly everyone has small talk berating and degrading Jimmy behind his back, Galloway is one of the very few people who actually speaks well of him (although such quote is never or very rarely heard due to the extremely specific conditions that make him speak it, it's still in his files):
---> Galloway: I don't care what they say about young Hopkins, I think he has a heart of gold.
** If you do his English class but fail, he will instead cheer you up and not feel sad for the failure, because at least James tried. (This somewhat reminds of Theodore Roosevelt's "Man in the Arena" speech)
---> Galloway: Oh don't worry, James, failure is just a natural consequence of trying.
* Although PlayedForLaughs, the fact that Kirby and Trent were going to go on a date with each other in the mission "Movie Tickets" is genuinely adorable, especially since they were holding hands and everything.
* One of the most overlooked and easily missed ones is in the arc between Beatrice and Bucky, in the first chapter of the game, Beatrice's diary mentions how Bucky gets spiteful whenever he hears Beatrice talk about Jimmy. This entry shows that Bucky has a crush on Beatrice but she doesn't notice and only calls him a good friend. In Endless Summer, if you wait outside of the library or hang around after 6 o'clock, Beatrice and Bucky will either be found kissing or they'll leave the library holding hands. The Bullworth riot finally gave Bucky the confidence to ask Beatrice out or she finally wised up to his feelings.
* Despite her rather colourful personality, Jimmy's relationship with Edna is actually surprisingly wholesome. The two seem on the same level in terms of morals and taste, and Jimmy never hesitates in helping her out with something, no matter how dubious it may be.
* When a tearful Algie finds Lola flirting with Chad, you can see Jimmy patting Algie on the back out of pity. Algie looks at him gratefully afterward before looking at Lola while giving a hand gesture that reads "Can you believe this?"
* If you are on good terms with them, the students of Bullworth will come to your defense. It's nice to see people stand up for you the way you have for them. Even students who can't fight will tell your attacker off, with Gloria giving one of the most unintentionally epic lines in the game:
--> Gloria: Like Normandy, I rally to your defence!
