!Arno & Élise

The friendship and romance of Arno and Élise is the heart of this game, and the amount of adorable moments between the two needs a whole section devoted to it.

* When they first meet, Arno and Élise are children getting up to some mischievous deeds, like kids really do. It's absolutely adorable.
* Arno breaks into the ball being thrown in Élise's honor just to see her. She leads him on a light chase before pulling him into a room to the side, and the two share a heartwarming, funny, and sweet talk where they make fun of their outfits and share a passionate kiss.
* Élise, upon being marked for death by the Templars, meets Arno in Cafe Theatre. Arno offers her safety and help with the Brotherhood, but she refuses, saying she doesn't trust the Assassins. Cue Arno removing his hood, and asking her an ArmorPiercingQuestion. Upon reminiscing a bit with him, she agrees.
--> '''Arno''': Do you trust ''me''?
* Possibly the best moment in the entire game is the sequence when Élise swipes a hot air balloon. Ater a long chase, Arno catches up with the balloon, and the two have a moment together where they discuss the future and share a loving kiss, high above the chaos of the Revolution and illuminated only by the moonlight and flames of the balloon.

!Everything Else

* Pierre Bellec's death is a TearJerker mixed with heartwarming when you realize that all, the time, his demeaning insult of "pisspot" to you is because of his friendship with Arno's father. He really did like Arno and it broke his heart to strike at you.
* The special assassination opportunity on La Touche involves Arno pretending to be one of the prisoners who are about to be executed. In the cage where the prisoners are held he stumbles upon Hugo and Victor, the thugs who caused him troubles earlier in the game. Although Arno is not particularly nice about rescuing them, he's clearly indignant about them being sentenced to death for "being thick headed man-mountains while doing little enough for [their] long-term prospects".
* The ending of ''Dead Kings''. Arno changes back into his original Assassin robes, having regained his optimism, and decides to remain in France. De Sade's final narration also leaves a sense of hope for both France and Arno's future.
-->'''De Sade:''' Ah, dear Arno. Our hopes to the future condition of the human species may be reduced to three points: The destruction of inequality between different nations, the progress of equality in one and the same nation, and, lastly, the real improvement of man.
* Arno's big-brotherly friendship with Léon, and how Léon spurs Arno to have hope and take action again at the end of ''Dead Kings''.
* In a real-world example, the game's near-perfect recreation of the Notre Dame (which, by the way, was painstakingly done by Caroline Miousse in a span of two years, ''down to the brick'') had somewhat inadvertently made the game [[https://www.sfgate.com/news/article/3d-maps-rebuild-notre-dame-fire-assasins-creed-13769593.php an aid at rebuilding the cathedral]] following a [[TearJerker fire]] that caused significant damage in April 2019. Ubisoft has since [[https://twitter.com/Ubisoft/status/1118514706392723456 announced they were donating €500,000 to the restoration and offered ''Unity'' for free]] for players who did not previously own a copy of the game to be able to explore the cathedral. Ubisoft also stated that they are more than willing to [[https://twitter.com/Ubisoft/status/1118517307150602240 lend their expertise with the Notre-Dame to help in the restoration]].
