"This story never truly ends" is the main story's way of concluding that seems to hint a Sequel Hook. There are many mysteries and unanswered questions. Due to the nature of the game, all spoilers are unmarked.

* What is the practical purposes for making Mimeosomes eat when they are on a mission? Do they poop or pee too? What is the poop made of?
** Mimeosomes were designed for humanity to overcome the rigors of space travel since they had no idea how long it would take them to find a new home (such rigors could include CabinFever on the White Whale if it took centuries for humanity to find a new home), but at the same time, make themselves still feel human. If eating doesn't provide the Mims a source of energy like it does for humans, it does at least keep them mentally healthy.
** However it also requires storage for all that food on the trip. Do mims get hungry if they don't eat? Do they die if they don't or was it a possibility that they would have been left in space starving until they found a suitable home?
** Presumably the mimeosomes simulate hunger and the feeling of being full (a function that, in a sensible universe, could be deactivated if necessary). The eating isn't necessary, it's just something that humans like to do, so simulating it just helps everyone feel at ease.

* At the end Lin says something about going off to find Earth someday. Why would they look for a planet that's been reduced to space dust?
** She's theorizing it hasn't been turned to space dust and is just ravaged. That kind of clashes with the massive explosion we see in the opening but personally I like the idea that Earth still exists in some form since physics makes outright destroying a planet like that ridiculously difficult.
** The opening cutscene showing the explosion in question doesn't show Earths' remains either, making it questionable if the debris we saw simply wasn't from the aliens' ships and the Earth simply was encompassed by the light which could have just ravaged it more to the point of becoming uninhabitable.
** What we actually see of the finale to the battle over Earth is a blinding light enveloping it, and then nothing. We don't see debris, we don't see an empty spot where it used to be. The Ganglion further mention a peculiar "bright light" that swallowed them up before they found themselves stuck on Mira. It's possible that wasn't an explosion at all, and Earth is still around (albeit burned to a crisp).
** I just beat the game, and I don't remember her saying anything about finding Earth. She makes mention that other ships got out, and is optimistic about there being other survivors, but not about finding Earth.
*** Lin said that she believed that Earth didn't die that day, and she hoped that someday humanity would find the "planet that they left behind" (presumably Earth). So Lin believes that Earth is out there somewhere. Then again, I don't know what the Japanese translation said.

* Why didn't everyone remember that their bodies weren't in stasis it was just their DNA and memories? Haven't their memories been running nonstop since the White Whale? What happened on the White Whale?
** The people running Project Exodus simply didn't tell everyone else the truth until it was revealed. They were most likely put in the Mimeosomes before the Whale launched, and the Lifehold may have been off-limits to everyone except the Project Exodus heads to prevent tampering and keep the rest of the crew from freaking out. Elma does state that this was the most controversial aspect of the project, even if this was only known among the people in charge of it.

* Later in the game, you are allowed to change your Mimeosomes features, including gender. Why would Yardley, the one response for this, say to keep this a secret between you and him, yet at the time of this mission, you are most likely around government officials like Nagi, if recruited? That would have made this common knowledge.
** Another question is: why isn't it common knowledge? What harm is there in letting people have whatever bodies they want?
** Most people already did that when they got their first Mim (like the Prospector who got a body younger than his son's). Besides, IIRC, it's not so much the idea, but that, as noted below, he's the one doing it.
** Yardley explains this: Because the government would take it from him, either to sell the service themselves or for medical and maintenance purposes. Which does bring up the question of why there's no option to point out that Yardley could make a legal fortune selling this back to the government instead of skulking around in the shadows.
** The Fridge section mentions that if criminals could use this technology, they could change their identities and hide from those searching for them by becoming someone else. So Yardley has another reason to not make it public, he realizes just how badly the wrong people could use it to their advantage.

* Theoretically, what was going to happen to the minds controlling the Mimeosomes after they were copied into their clone bodies? Would they keep controlling the Mimeosomes and there would be two of everyone running around, or would they agree to be turned off and sit in the Lifehold indefinitely, or erased?
** It's suggested to not just be their memories placed in the Mimeosomes, but their consciousness, conscience and psyche as well. Once they had their new bodies made, they would simply be implanted into them.
** Actually, it seemed like nothing was actually placed into the mimeosome. It's more like their consciousnesses were functioning like computer programs within the Core. What was supposed to happen was once those "programs" went offline, the Mimeosomes would thus stop functioning. The Mimeosomes having fully-downloaded consciousnesses was completely unintentional.
** Elma's mimeosome confirms their consciousness act like a power source, and without it they'd shut down.

* Is Sylvalum covered in sand or snow?
** Sand and pollen.
** Then why is the Sylvalum sand different from the Oblivia sand?
** Different minerals compose it.
** Indeed, there are many varieties of sand even here on Earth. Beaches come in many different shades, including grey and even black sand beaches; and there are entire deserts that are pure white, being made of gypsum crystals.

* Why are people getting drunk at a diner?
** Because it serves alcohol.
** Why are people primarily getting drunk at a diner?
** Do you see any bars in New LA?
** Some are presumably drowning their sorrows.

* Why on Mira can L and Celica use Overdrive when it's implied that it's a function of Mimeosomes?
** Because prohibiting them from doing it would make them less desirable as party members.
** Nanomachines Nanomachines.

* How did Celica and Rock reach Mira?
** Same way the Ganglion did (they don't know either). Their backstory suggests possibly stowaways or escaped prisoners.

* Why wasn't the Trion shield barrier equipped to protect the ark ships?
** Those ships were friggin' huge.
** We also don't know the limitations to such technology in terms of how much power's needed, how much it can cover, the resources needed to make it and how many they were able to make.

* How does one conceive in a Mimeosome?
** Ada asked Hope if Mims were advanced enough for conception, but she was able to dodge the question thanks Rook's intervention.
** Easy: They don't, and they can't. Mims aren't alive, they can't make living babies from them. It's part of why they're so desperate to find the Lifehold.
** Confirmed by a random conversation you can overhear in the Commercial District: mimeosomes cannot produce children.

* Somewhat related to the question above. Do Mimeosomes produce gametes like regular human bodies would? Without getting too TMI on this subject, would female mimeosomes ovulate and menstruate? Etc. The problem with this one, as opposed to the question above, is that I don't think the game explicitly states this (And I think we're all glad it doesn't.) Just curious if anyone has any headcanons about this.
** It makes zero sense to equip a mimeosome with that capability. Would even be wasteful. Since it's known that mimeosomes reproducing is impossible, there's no reason whatsoever to include that particular biological function. One would probably imagine that the female population of NLA is quite happy to not have to deal with that.

* If only the few humans were chosen to board the White Whale, why were known criminals chosen to board? What was the exact selection process?
** Mistakes were made, money changed hands, people change when wandering out in space for two years or stuck on alien worlds, many hate xenos due to the Ganglion and then they start living with them in NLA which angers them. Take your pick.

* Just what the hell was the Vita? Luxaar seemed to believe it was a "vessel" for the "Great One", but what exactly this meant was still left somewhat unclear and he ended up piloting it himself. Elma seemed to have some idea of who might have made it, but she doesn't share this information.
** Evidence seems to suggest that it was the "Great One's" personal mecha. Pretty much as if a Zeon Remnant found the remains of the Sazabi.

* Who exactly is The "Great One" that Luxaar keeps mentioning?
** Evidence suggests a great (or the) leader of the Ganglion over him.
** Considering the Ganglion are a crime syndicate in the Samaar Federation and the Ma-non imply it's common knowledge, the Great One could be the leader of the Samaar Federation itself, and he allows the Ganglion to exist, and prevents the rest of the Federation from eliminating them.
** Luxaar and the other Ganglion leaders mention searching for the Great One, and Luxaar's habit of meditating/praying in that chamber he's always in suggests that either the Great One is lost, or never existed in the first place and was just a religious invention. If the Great One were living, one would imagine he could speak to him directly.

* For that matter, who is Elma, really? She seems to legitimately and truly care about helping humanity survive, but... why? Why go through all this trouble? What exactly is her back history? Why was she the ONLY life form existent while everyone else's original bodies destroyed? Why does the Lifehold Core respond to Elma's password access?
** Just when she was about you tell you her backstory after securing the Lifehold Core, we never got a chance to hear all of that on-screen.
-->Elma: Well, it's a pretty long story. Tell you what - Why don't we go back to New LA, and we can talk over a nice, big celebratory feast.
** We can gather a few facts: Elma was the one (or at least, one of a group) who gave humanity all the tech and information they needed to create the Exodus Project, and as such, was accorded a very high level of authority when it comes to the Lifehold. Being the savior of humanity will lead to some perks. I would imagine that her body was stored because including xeno DNA (if her species even has DNA) would possibly be incompatible/corrupting to the Earth-DNA stored on board.

* Who in the hell is Rook, really? Rook was woken up after the Lifehold database was destroyed... which is why Rook lacks any memories, because there weren't any there when s/he woke up. But that also means that there shouldn't have been a consciousness loaded into the mim in the first place for Mira to "save", however it did that - everyone else was saved because they were awake and loaded, but Rook wasn't. So just who or what is giving Rook consciousness? Is Rook even really human? Is Rook even really the same kind of mim that everyone else is? This one isn't quite as spelled out as some of the above ones are in the main plot, but talking to certain [=NPCs=] and a little deductive reasoning make the question very prominent.
** Elma mentions other survivors in lifepods were found after the crash, so Rook may very well be exactly what Elma assumed they were; a person like anyone else who got amnesia from being in stasis too long (since there was others found after the crash, everyone's consciousness's must've been put in their mims immediately during or after the crash, including those not yet awake)
** Also, while the lifehold was destroyed, nothing has actually proven that Mira didn't save everyones' personalities, memories and DNA. Meaning that it's destruction would have nothing to Rook's amnesia.

* Who is Eleonora, really? She seems awfully invested in your development as a BLADE, and she seems to be working with some sort of unseen superior on something called J-Bodies, which is apparently what Yelv is. What are J-Bodies? Are you a J-Body? And who the hell is Eleonora, really?! This one got bonus points in Japan for being DLC-based, to boot, meaning Monolith deliberately added another sequel hook to all the ones you see above, after the game came out.
** While Yelv is one, Rook has amnesia and we don't know if the J-Bodies were in stasis pods like they were. Though that does leave the question of who else is a J-Body and who Eleonora is really working for.

* Where are the Ghosts? We never get to directly encounter them and are left with almost no information about them other than that they were part of the war that destroyed Earth.
** And did they attack the White Whale intended to end Humanity like the Ganglion, or only because they were trying to lead the White Whale to Mira?
** Presumably they're a SequelHook, a plot element to be expanded on should the game ever get a sequel.

* What are the details behind Lao discovering the AwfulTruth of Project Exodus and all the relevant information such as Elma's involvement? How did he find out? Did this "Black Knight" character informed Lao about the project?
** He may have simply pieced it together when he got to board the White Whale, but not his wife or daughter.
** Alternatively, he may have managed to get access to the info only a few like Elma, Nagi, Chausson and Vandahm had.

* How did Lao get to the life hold in Chapter 12? Did the medics reach him and he escaped from NLA stealing another Skell? Or did he somehow manage to fix the Prog Ares and go there directly from Cauldros? Seems like the kind of thing that would be clarified somewhere in the game but I haven't come across any explanation in all that optional text.
** Perhaps he had been faking his injuries, he really didn't seem like he wanted to be alive and wanted the others to just leave him to die.

* Without Luxaar to lead the Ganglion, what is there left for the Ganglion? You still fight Ganglion forces post-main story, and most of them are much more difficult than even the final boss.
** This isn't Film/IndependenceDay or The Avengers. Killing their boss does not cause the whole army to die. The remaining Ganglion are left to their own devices. They may seek revenge, to reunite scattered commands, survive as best they can, or any or all of the above.
** In particular The Ganglion are an organized crime syndicate. They almost certainly have some chain of command that would indicate who takes over if Luxaar is MIA or KIA, Luxaar himself may have even been this for the Great One.
** It's also possible that the forces you fight after the main game are just TheRemnant, the last die-hards of the organization before it completely falls apart.

* What the hell is Planet Mira, exactly? How is it keeping the human mims alive despite the destruction of the Lifehold's database? And what's translating all these alien languages? What exactly happened inside the destroyed servers?
** Is it possible that it's helping Humanity because it's the Samaarian's former homeworld and Humanity are their descendants?
** Most likely, the mysteries surrounding Mira are a SequelHook.

* Who is the Black Knight that carried Lao in the beach? Did Lao revive as a Mimeosome, a human, or something else?

* How did Lao survive the final battle? Is he back in his mim or is he a human again... or something else?
** Lao's eye appears mechanical, like all the other mim eyes, so it's likely that he's back in his mim. Given that they are mechanical, it's possible the chimera-thing he turned into didn't absorb his mim, and was merely encasing it. When it died, his mim got washed out of the Core and into the ocean.

* Why does the game make such a big deal out of Lao asking Elma whether to shoot him in the head or the heart? It makes it out like she has to choose one of them and risk destroying the data when doing so makes no sense. Lao can barely even stand under his own power and he's outnumbered four to one. There's nothing stopping team Elma from just holding him down and searching for the hard drive. Chapter 5 even shows that there's a way to shut down an injured mim without harming the consciousness inside it, so that was also an option.
** Considering how vital the data is, they were possibly afraid trying any of those options could have a risk of erasing data they couldn't afford to lose, Lao could have possibly even tampered with the data so that it'd be deleted unless his Mim was destroyed in the right place or he removed it from his mim of his own choice.
** I'm inclined to agree with the OP. If we were talking about Lin, or Tika, it'd be different. But it's doubtful that Lao has the technical know-how to rig something like that. He's a pilot, not an engineer. The fact that he was able to reach in his suit and toss it to them is clear indication that it wasn't inside his Mim. So there was nothing stopping Elma from restraining him while Lin and Rook searched him for it.
** Or she could've just aimed lower. I would've.
** A simple answer? Psychological manipulation, the fact he even found out the truth is something he shouldn't have learned, so how would Elma's team know if he did or didn't have something that could cost them the data terminal if they simply shot him in the wrong spot?
** It still doesn't seem likely. I'd find it hard to believe that popping him in the kneecap (for example) would've jeopardize the data in any way. Besides which, Lao was no longer in any condition to put up a fight at that point. So Elma's team could've easily pinned him and found the data themselves with a quick pat down.
** I have heard when your full of adrenaline, it's easy to forget the most obvious thing you should be doing in a given situation. Since everyone had just fought him, they may have simply forgot that they could just hold him down.

* Probably more of a gameplay example, but still baffling nonetheless. Why would there be support missions lower than level 50 if one must complete Chapter 12 to unlock them? Any of the missions designated below level 50 are practically useless!

* Why does she hide everything from her team?
** Any time anyone mentions the Ares, or her (presumably) heroic actions to save the White Whale, she either changes the subject, or shuts them up. Twice, when Rook plainly asks Elma if she knows more than she's letting on, Elma lies and says it's nothing. She also knew Lao was a Ganglion spy, but kept that to herself as well, until the shit hit the proverbial fan. And she helped cover up the truth about Exodus, until it could no longer be kept secret.
** I get that all of it's likely meant to make her seem mysterious, but it doesn't. Instead, she comes across as someone who doesn't trust her own team with the truth. It's a wonder how they're comfortable serving under someone who keeps them in the dark about everything, until it's no longer possible.
** You have to remember that Nagi, Vandahm and Chausson are just as responsible for hiding the truth about Exodus, and Doug's reaction to it shows why they lied.
** For her actions to save the White Whale, that's not necessarily her lying if she's changing the subject each time. If you notice her facial expression when Vandahm begins to talk about it when examining the Vita before Nagi cuts him off, it looks like she's remembering something from that day. When you remember the Ares was intended to be piloted by two people back when there was a set player character...
** For the thing about Lao being a spy? When Elma mentions the idea to Doug he'll ask Rook if they agree, regardless of your choice, Doug tells Elma that there may be room for doubt and she agrees. When Lao reveals the truth himself, she said had her suspicions but didn't want to believe it. A major theme of the game are the results of the choices you make, and Elma realized then she had made the wrong choice, Lao himself even answers her choice to believe in him was a mistake.
** It's possible that IJustWantToHaveFriends she thought people might fear or hate her when they knew she was an alien. After all, Boze and Alex and his gang do hate xenos. She probably pretended to be human so she could gain people's trust before revealing her identity.
** Elma's dialogue if you you talk to her after chapter 12 implies that she was concerned with how people would react to finding out she was a xeno.
** Late reply: The original question had nothing to do with anyone finding out she was a Xeno, it's about 1.) why she hides the fact that she was the one who defended the White Whale, 2.) why she always changes the subject whenever anyone mentions the Ares, 3.) why does she repeatedly lie to Rook when asked if she knows more than she's letting on, and 4.) why didn't she voice her concerns about Lao until it was too late.
** Elma gets asked these questions at different points and, each time, she either goes silent, or changes the subject, or flat-out lies about it rather than give an answer. Even if she wasn't absolutely certain about Lao, withholding her suspicions about him was still poor judgement. Had she said something sooner, Vandham and Nagi probably would've had him under strict watch as a precaution, which could have prevented him from stealing the Lifehold data along with Prog Ares.

* Does Mira have lighter gravity than Earth? It would certainly explain how the characters are able to jump such distances and survive falls from enormous heights. Yes, mimeosomes, I know, but given that Rook never expresses any shock at their strength prior to the reveal, that would suggest that they aren't significantly stronger than a normal human body. It would also explain why so much of the wildlife is enormous, how those rock formations stay up despite the lack of support structures, and why L (apparently a Miran native) is so much taller than a human.
** Rook doesn't have any memories of what life was like as a human, so he has no way of judging mimieosome strength compared to them. For all he knew, humans could always jump 20 feet into the air and survive any fall. Anyway, I believe that one of the Japanese guidebooks says that Mira has 97% of the gravity of Earth.

* How is she allowed to get away with the crap she pulls? Including where her own team is concerned?
** Before you even start her first affinity mission, Irina recounts having been double-crossed by her in the past, in an incident where Murderess shot her in the back. Why wasn't that reported? Why were no charges filed against her? Yet, despite knowing this, the game has you partner up with her anyway. Then, when she predictably turns on you and makes off with your team's reward, Irina and Rook just let it slide without reporting her... again.
** In her next affinity mission, she railroads you into one of her wagers with Yolonda, yet refuses to split the take afterwards because "you didn't wager anything". Really, Murderess? How 'bout risking life and limb, since you wouldn't have won that bet without Rook's help?
** You'd think Irina and Rook would wash their hands of her after being screwed over twice, yet they continue to help her. Why do they do it?? Why do they continue let her get away with what she does?
** It's implied that Irina (and Rook) are sympathetic to Murderess's motivations (that is, to restore her family's name) and are willing to let her be greedy towards that end as long as she isn't too nasty in how she goes about amassing the money. It's worth noting that, despite her chosen alias, Murderess has not actually killed anyone. It's further implied that Irina sees some of herself in Murderess, and that's the reason she doesn't like her very much, as her behavior hits a little too close to home for Irina... but that's also the reason she's a touch sympathetic to her. It's notable that, at the end of Murderess's questline, the two have softened toward each other and are looking forward to getting a drink together.I would like to state for the record that I am playing Devil's Advocate here, and personally I agree that Murderess should really be locked up for what she's done.
** In what way does Irina see herself in Murderess, when they're nothing alike? Irina has principles and puts her team first. Murderess doesn't. She got her own team killed (by your team) and gave 0 fucks about it. All she cared about was the reward money, for a job she didn't do.
** In fact the two women are pretty similar in personality and motivation: both are highly independent, disdainful of men, aggressive when things don't go their way, and primarily driven by the loss of their closest family. They are different in that each has chosen a different set of morals and personal codes to follow, which is why Irina is law-abiding and loyal while Murderess is shady and ruthless. If Irina had chosen a different path, she might have become like Murderess, and if Murderess had not abandoned ethics, she would probably have a similar disposition as Irina.
** Irina isn't limited to only two paths, she could change career goals, morals, etc. and still be essentially the same as she is now. There's nothing saying she'd become like Murderess. And what little they share in common still sets them apart.
*** For starters, Irina doesn't simply hate men. She has a bad history with the ones she's had to deal with because they either treat her as a sex object, or as an object of scorn because she outranks them and happens to be a woman. For Murderess, men (and everyone else, for that matter) are a means to an end.
*** The loss of Irina's brother has caused her to throw herself into her work, to where Gwin is concerned she's become suicidalthough her third and fourth heart-to-hearts suggest otherwise. Whereas Murderess and are driven by revenge.
*** Irina is strong-willed and independent, but still AFatherToHisMen looks after those around her; including those two grunts that mocked her ("Renewed Will"). Do I really need to say how little Murderess concerns herself about other people...?
** They're as different as oil and water.

* Okay, so Elma tells Celica that BLADE membership is entirely voluntary and that there are plenty of non-combatants living in NLA. So if that's the case, why wouldn't Nagi take "no" for an answer? And why was Chausson so deadset on Rock fighting until Celica and the others made him change his mind?
** In Nagi's case, it's 1) because NLA needs all the [=BLADEs=] it can get and 2) because you have to become a BLADE for the game to progress. In Chausson's case, it's because Rock is enormously strong and tough; indeed, his backstory says he was literally created by the Ganglion as a living weapon, so he's probably quite effective in combat. He'd obviously be a great help in battle... except for the fact that he's decided to become a pacifist.
** That may be, but it still doesn't change the fact that it's a baldfaced lie, if Nagi and Chausson pressure new citizens into joining BLADE, under threat of being forced to leave, or remaining in stasis.
** It's not a lie. Chausson said that every citizen had to contribute in some way to the city, ie get a job. No freeloaders allowed because the city is too low on resources to afford it. He may have pressured Rock towards becoming a BLADE, but in the end he was fine with Rock doing construction work. Also, Nagi never threatened Rook with being put back into stasis. He mentioned being trapped in stasis as part of a guilt trip, saying that that would have been Rook's fate if a BLADE (Elma) hadn't awakened him. Again, Nagi won't take no for an answer in Rook's case because there is no game if Rook doesn't become a BLADE... in "reality" he would have eventually given up on convincing them.
** Except the story doesn't need Rook, the game isn't even about him/her. Elma's the heroine, Lin is Deuteragonist the co-star, while Rook is just sort of "there". You could remove him/her from the narrative entirely and nothing would change.

* Why was he so adamant about Rook joining BLADE? It'd be understandable if Rook had an existing file of military service, or some other skill that'd make him/her invaluable. But Nagi didn't know diddly about them, nor does Rook have any conscious memory concerning who they were. Yet Nagi absolutely insisted on Rook joining them and immediately assigns him/her to Elma's team. Doesn't it seem odd that he'd be that gung-ho over someone he knew nothing about?
** Rook got into a few fights with indigens on the way to NLA from the lifepod, so Elma's had a chance to see that Rook can handle themselves in combat pretty well. That may have factored into Nagi's pressuring. Lin's comments during the whole thing also suggest that Nagi just has a habit of doing this in general, so that there are as many [=BLADEs=] as possible out there looking for the Lifehold. If the game didn't force Rook into becoming a BLADE for the sake of the narrative, it's probable that Nagi would have accepted "no" if Rook was insistent on not joining BLADE.

* So why was the party freaking out that the Chimera, the last line of defense against human extinction, are aggressive and monstrous beings that can rip you to shreds? Did they expect like bunnies or something to be the last stand?
** Probably because they were expecting another automated defense system, like the force field that was already protecting the Lifehold Core. So had it been something like drones, or an advanced Skell, they likely wouldn't have been surprised. Instead, their final line of defense wound up looking like something straight out of Franchise/ResidentEvil. Who's gonna expect THAT??
** It was also mentioned the system was malfunctioning at that point, so it's possible that the Chimera weren't the intended creatures that were made to defend the core.

* They named an entire chapter after it, had Elma give an inner monologue about it, and the story never went anywhere with it. Or the tainted enemies for that matter.
** Presumably a SequelHook, tying in with the war between Samaar and the Ghosts, or something else entirely. We still don't know who or what Luxaar's "Great One" is or was.

* According to Linduring the cutscene at the end of chapter 11, Gwin is concerned that Irina's been throwing herself into her BLADE missions as if she no longer cares whether she lives, or dies. Elma seconds Gwin's assessment, except Irina's heart-to-hearts clearly show both their concerns are unwarranted.
** During her third heart-to-heart, Irina shows Rook that she constantly has maintenance done on her assault rifle, because she won't risk having it jam on her. If Rook replies he/she does the same, Irina approves and says it's good to see someone who also takes care of their equipment. While in her fourth one, Irina further states that she isn't willing to take unnecessary risks with her life, which contradicts what Gwin and Elma said about her.
*** Depression isn't that cut and dry and Irina might not be consciously aware that she's wearing herself down. If not that, Irina doesn't seem like a person who's gonna open up about her darkest thoughts. And even if she wants herself to die, it doesn't mean she wants other people to die.
** Except the heart-to-hearts are about what each character actually believes, or feels. Hence, the reason they respond favorably whenever Rook's responses align with theirs. If Irnia really were suicidal, as Gwin and Elma believe she is, there'd be nothing stopping her from simply offing herself like Ornella did. Or any of the others who took their own lives. Yet, Irina actively takes measures to ensure her own safety, as well as that of her comrades. Either way, Gwin and Elma's concerns don't mesh with what the game actually shows us about Irina's state of mind.
** Irina is stated to put a lot of effort into taking care of her weapons because they're used to protect others, but doesn't see the point of putting any care into her armor because it only protects her. One of her HtH's has her getting into an argument with another BLADE who accuses her of rushing in a disregarding her own safety. The answers she approves of aren't saying that she wasn't taking risks, but agreeing that she shouldn't be overly concerned with her own safety. Furthermore, suicidal behavior can take on many forms, including reckless behavior and neglecting actions meant for self-preservation.

* How does something like Virus work in the concept of a Debuff, especially when the attacks that utilize it vary widely depending on the one that uses it? Does Pathogen Blast utilize a base strain that is carefully calibrated to the composition of the target before being deployed? And How is it even possible for a Jacul to infect a Mimeosome or a Skell with Virus? Biological Viruses and Cybernetic Viruses are definitely NOT the same thing.

* Why did Powell choose to kill Gerome after committing himself to go on a murdering spree? You'd think he would've shared Gerome's sentiments against the Ma-non and asked him to be a collaborator.
** Given that Gerome met the victim in a fight over cutting in line, it's very possible that Gerome was a problem customer as well. Not on the same level as the Ma-non, but a pleasant bonus at least.
