My question is “How?” Was this a matter of BecauseDestinySaysSo (in which, does that mean EVERYTHING the Paladins have done was due to predestination)? Or was it the work of someone like Slav, who saw that the Paladins would eventually come, and that carvings would be necessary to make sure that Keith knew to look for Shiro (and thus cause everything in the series)? |

| 449 | * Okay, this is really bugging me: WHY wasn’t Sanda relieved of duty or stripped of authority? The woman was a complete idiot with how she dealt with the Galra situation. Most notable are three points in particular: |
| 450 | ** First, she concealed the information that there was hostile alien life from the rest of the world. Which is understandable for the Kerberos mission and Shiro’s return, since no one knew what was going on and there was no need to risk unnecessary panic. But, when Sam Holt came back all the info on what was going on and that there was a confirmed hostile alien force, she STILL kept things secret, even when it was clear that the Galra KNEW where Earth was and were ACTIVELY HOSTILE TO EVERYONE. Her rational for doing so was to avoid panic, but that’s ridiculous considering that an invasion was basically imminent and Earth was BADLY outgunned by the Galra in every way, and they needed resources and aid to make sure Sam could get the technology they need for defense up and running. |
| 451 | ** Second, she completely dismisses Sam’s advice when the Galra begin their invasion, instead using standard tactics and a few of their new weapons against them even when Sam tells it will not work. She doesn’t allow him to launch the M.F.Es or use their new Particle Cannon since they’re untested, which is fair to a degree, but that does not excuse her throwing under-equipped troops into battle against a FAR superior foe out of what appears to be arrogance and her own ignorance making her underestimate the Galra. |
| 452 | ** Finally, Sanda makes the BRILLIANT decision to leak the battle plan against the Zaiforge installations to Sendak, as part of a deal with him in order to have him get the Lions and leave Earth alone. Which is completely asinine. The Lions were literally the best weapons humanity had against the Galra and were their best hope of victory. Moreover, Sanda trusted Sendak, a conquest-hungry proud member of the Galra Empire which has been engaging in such actions for longer than human history and whom she has been fighting for years…and ACTUALLY EXPECTED HIM TO KEEP HIS WORD. Wow. What’s especially egregious there is that thanks to the data from the Castle of Lions, the Garrison had a copy of Sendak’s memories and an interface from which to learn what his tactics and plans might be. And at no point do we even receive a hint that Sanda used said interface to determine if Sendak would actually keep his word. And this was something she was considering from the moment the Paladins returned to Earth. |
