This might be Kiryu's [[EndOfAnEra last outing]] ([[VideoGame/YakuzaLikeADragon or]] [[VideoGame/LikeADragonGaidenTheManWhoErasedHisName so]] [[VideoGame/LikeADragonInfiniteWealth it may seem]]), but being that this is still ''Yakuza'', expect there to be plenty of laughs in Onomichi.
----
!! Story
* Kiryu and Akiyama rush to Touto University Hospital after being informed that Haruka just got caught in a traffic accident. The scene switches to the hospital lobby, as Kiryu bolts through the door. Akiyama shows up only after Kiryu's already offscreen, staggering and out of breath. To add insult to injury, a nurse stops Akiyama from entering due to his state of hygiene (he has spent several days as a homeless man in the sewers).
* Literally ''any time'' Nagumo [[DopeSlap smacks]] the shit out of his subordinates. There's even a compilation for it [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4ff0NdYPCY here]]!
** It's also how Yuta is introduced to us, too; immediately after his title card, Nagumo proceeds to slap him silly.
** Special mention goes to the scene where Yuta is trying to calm Haruto down. Not only does Nagumo smack Yuta square in the face, but the fact that Yuta imitated Haruto's yell with a clueless look on his face makes it all the more hilarious. A [=YouTube=] comment couldn't have put it any better, either:
---> '''[=YouTuber:=]''' BOI YOU'RE THE FATHER YET, YOU'RE BEING SLAPPED šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚
* Hirose has a bunch of ski masks that he used back in the day to anonymously beat the shit out of higher-ranked family members.
-->'''Nagumo:''' Still there aren't many thugs with ski masks they probably had a few guesses.
** After coming back from the hotel, they tell Hirose that Nagumo [[FinaglesLaw screwed up his ski mask plan]]. Hirose then shows them how to use a mask by putting one on and [[WrestlerInAllOfUs straddling Yuta like a pro wrestler]]. [[FunnyBackgroundEvent All this is happening while Kiryu and Kiyomi have a serious discussion about Haruto's father]].
** A few chapters later when they're trying to break into Saio Triad headquarters, Akiyama pulls out a bunch of similar masks as a disguise. Kiryu chuckles that [[StrangeMindsThinkAlike maybe Hirose was on to something]]. To make it even more ridiculous, Kiryu is ''still in his IconicOutfit'', making the mask even more meaningless.
** This however goes straight into FridgeHorror when it's revealed why Hirose actually used the ski masks to begin with, as seen in the [[TearJerker/Yakuza6 Tearjerker]] page.
* When Kiyomi is revealed to have a history with Someya, Nagumo has ''serious'' trouble processing the fact that his beloved Kiyo-chan used to be in a relationship with another man. His boys' rather excited speculations do not help. Nagumo is driven to further despair, in even more hilariously overdramatic ways when it is confirmed that Kiyomi was ''married'' to Someya and even has a ''daughter'' with him. When Nagumo offers to go to Kamurocho with Kiryu, the latter jokingly remarks that it's hard for the former to stay in Onomichi after all those revelations.
* Nagumo and Yuta accompany Kiryu to Kamurocho. As the group walk toward Cafe Alps, Nagumo tries to hit on a number of women they pass by. On the other hand, some bystanders can be heard commenting on the Onomichi men's tacky fashion sense.
* TheReveal of Yuta being Haruto's father? [[WhamEpisode That's not funny]]. [[MoodWhiplash Matsunaga stopping the conversation cold]] [[MomentKiller to question if he forgot to "bag it up" first]]? Hilarious. Even better is that Nagumo shoots him a DeathGlare, stomps over, kicks Matsunaga in the face, sending him flying across the room, then turns around and goes right back to putting Yuta on blast like nothing happened. But [[BoyfriendBlockingDad Kiryu's]] [[TranquilFury silent]] DeathGlare at the guy who shacked up his surrogate daughter? Priceless. No wonder Yuta quickly went on his knees to beg Kiryu for forgiveness.
* When the Jingweon storms the shrine to try and take Haruto by force, everyone works together to try and keep Haruto away from them... by passing him between each other like it's a game of rugby or American football, all while the Jingweon men keep trying to tackle them. What's even funnier is that, barring the first time, Haruto is completely oblivious to the danger he's in. And even then, he seems to cry the first time because the commotion (yet strangely, not all the yelling earlier) woke him up. After this, there are several slow-mo shots of Haruto smiling and giggling as he flies through the air into the arms of the next free man, culminating in him laughing the moment Yuta has to catch him.
* After Haruto's been captured by the Jingweon Mafia, Yuta is shown hesitating as he's trying to come to terms with everything that has happened. Nagumo goes to hit him again, only for Kiryu to step in... because ''he'' wants to hit Yuta instead. [[PunchedAcrossTheRoom Kiryu punches Yuta so hard the guy crashes through the door and lands two yards away on the street]].
** When Haruka finally wakes up, she brings this up when talking to Kiryu about Yuta.
--->'''Haruka:''' Yuta's a nice guy, you know.\
'''Kiryu:''' Yeah, I know.\
'''Haruka:''' Really? Because he told me you punched him through a door.\
'''Kiryu:''' Yeah, [[MakesSenseInContext but that was]], um... [[GetAholdOfYourselfMan well]]...
* After Kiryu's final interrogation with Big Lo that ends with Lo leaving to FaceDeathWithDignity, Kiryu tells Yuta he's going to Onomichi alone to investigate the secret. Yuta, livid with Lo for accusing Hirose of killing to protect the secret, insists that he's going with Kiryu to prove his patriarch's innocence and then declares that he'll kill Lo for real afterwards. [[ImStandingRightHere In front of Date.]] Who's a detective. [[SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome Who promptly slaps some handcuffs on Yuta and drags him to the station for interrogation about the fire he started.]] Date even [[LampshadeHanging lampshades]] this.
--> '''Date:''' You got balls to be plotting a murder in front of a detective. [[YouHaveGotToBeKiddingMe Really?]]
* When [[BadassCrew Kiryu, Akiyama, and the Hirose Family]] are approaching the Millennium Tower, they're greeted by a cocky Yakuza member with an entourage of Tojo Clan goons at the ready... until Kiryu punches him square in the face before he can even finish greeting him properly. The [[OhCrap expression]] [[BreakTheHaughty on his face]] as Kiryu is angrily approaching him is the icing on the cake.
* This little line from Kiryu after he encounters a helicopter that unloaded on him with a minigun during the aforementioned raid:
--> '''Kiryu:''' [[VideoGame/Yakuza0 Always]] [[VideoGame/Yakuza1 with]] [[VideoGame/Yakuza3 the helicopters]], what a pain in the ass...

!! Side Content
* The substories in which Kiryu is semi-willingly drafted in to be Onomichiā€™s mascot character, ā€œOno Michio-kunā€ are just fantastic.
** The way the quest line starts is amusing, Kiryu notices a strange orange round object on the floor and is actually spooked when he gets a better look at it. Keep in mind this is ''Kiryu'' we are talking about, he has faced all sorts of adversaries from actual tigers, helicopters and entire armies of thugs. [[NotSoStoic But seeing the disembodied head of a mascot on the street is what actually gets him spooked]].
** The managerā€™s and Kiryuā€™s staring contest as the manager assesses who is tall enough and strong enough to deal with the big and heavy costume, the latterā€™s realisation of what is actually about to happen followed by the managerā€™s joyous exclamation that heā€™s found the right candidate.
---> '''Kiryu:''' I donā€™t like where this is going.\
'''Manager:''' I found one!
** The costume itself; a giant orange (as in the fruit) headed creature with fishermanā€™s boots and a bowl of ramen for a hat. Whose eyes appear to have been poorly scribbled on with a marker pen.
** The ridiculous introductory spiel in which all of the above qualities are explained, including the characterā€™s ā€œcharming hassaku faceā€.
** Kiryuā€™s deadpan reaction to being told heā€™s become Ono Michio-kun:
---> '''Kiryu:''' [[ThisIsGonnaSuck ...well, thatā€™s upsetting.]]
** Ono Michio-Kun's catchphrase is "Oh No!" when he is embarrassed or bad things happen, naturally one of the first things the kids do is kick Kiryu in the shins until he says it.
** The wrong answers Kiryu can give to the childrenā€™s innocent questions while in character, include explaining to a girl wanting to marry him that heā€™s a virgin and telling them that he really likes eating sexy women.
** Beating the shit out of some random goons, while dressed as... it.
** Later, Kiryu is tasked with performing a show as the character in New Gaudi Snack bar, and has to try and keep his actual identity under wraps while singing karaoke. He thinks heā€™s managed to fool everyone... until the end when the camera cuts to Mama sitting behind the bar, smoking and commenting that Kiryu never gets a break.
** And yes, Ono Michio-Kun can be unlocked as a unit for the Clan Creator mini-game.
** Ono Michio proved to be [[EnsembleDarkHorse so good]], in fact, that he'd go on to appear in [[VideoGame/{{Judgment}} every]] [[VideoGame/YakuzaLikeADragon other]] [[VideoGame/LostJudgment game]] [[VideoGame/LikeADragonInfiniteWealth (chronologically)]] after this one, with anything involving the mascot [[Funny/{{Judgment}} guaranteed]] [[Funny/YakuzaLikeADragon to be]] [[Funny/LostJudgment hilarious]].
* The live chat activity, not only does Kiryu shows his CovertPervert side but his ineptitude with computer makes it even better. Typing with only his index fingers held high above the keyboard.
** When asked if he knows what a chat room is, one of the option is " a room full of cute kittens".
** The other participants in the chat run the gamut from "NiceGuysFinishLast", a standard parody neckbeard, to SEXBOT who sends nothing but all caps expressions of how aroused he (it?) is.
--->'''SEXBOT:''' I DESIRE FUSION
* The substory "The Kabedon Prince" has Kiryu save an actor, Junta Takayama, who teaches Kiryu about the fine art of [[WallPinOfLove kabedon]] by getting a little too close for comfort. Kiryu then practices it on friend of his, Kamaishi. Not long after, the same thugs come back with reinforcements and Kiryu is back to save the day and this time he gives a kabedon of his own to the group's leader, though coming from the Dragon of Dojima, it's less romantic and scarier with enough force to crack the wall next to him, making him [[BringMyBrownPants piss himself]] before running away! Takayama admits that while he may be the Kabedon Prince, Kiryu is the Kabedon King.
--> Kiryu: The Kabedon King... Heh. [[NotSoAboveItAll It's got a nice ring to it.]]
* The substory "Sins of the Father" revolves around the same infamous cult from ''VideoGame/Yakuza0'', and it's Kiryu's turn to get his shooreh pippi on. As a nice CallBack, the fight ends almost exactly how it did back in 1988.
** Suzuki even comments on the sense of deja vu he's feeling as the current leader of the cult cries out for an ambulance as his brainwashed followers perform a "healing ritual" that has no actual effect.
* The realization at the very end of the Clan Creator storyline. For the better part of a decade[[note]]The mentions of JUSTIS' formation taking place after the dissolution of the "Colour Gangs" places it around the time of the original Yakuza (set in 2005)[[/note]], Kazuchika Okada and Joe had formed the JUSTIS group in order to shut down gangs and for Okada to finally get revenge on Satsuki for torturing him and permanently scarring his girlfriend. It's only after Joe and Okada accomplish what he set out to do all these years later, meeting Kiryu in the process, that they realize... '''[[EpicFail they misspelled the name.]]''' Even Kiryu, who freely admits his English is ''"nothing to write home about"'', knows that the word ends in "I-C-E" due to the word popping up so frequently in song lyrics. It gets even ''funnier'' when you remember ''[[VideoGame/Yakuza0 Judgement -Shinpan-]]'', a song Kiryu has an opportunity to call his favorite, has "Justice" as one of its GratuitousEnglish lines. Kiryu's knowledge of how to spell it probably came from going Karaoke back in ''the 80s.''
* Got a kick out of the ''Yakuza 5'' mod videos featuring Haruka trashing people on the streets? Now get a load of Haruka, the orphans, and others taking on thugs and the game's bosses in this ''very spoiler heavy'' [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSgRn3xQIhI video]].
* Pick pro-wrestler Saki Akai as your hostess in the club and come the end of the session, you can have Kiryu candidly admit he ''loves pro-wrestling''; she's more than a little befuddled by this and asks if you should be telling her you love ''her'' instead.
* Hiji, Kiryu's experimental AI smartphone assistant, spends a lot of time throwing shade at [[Platform/MacOS the other female-gendered smartphone assistant.]] The sheer levels of vitriol turn the whole thing into a somewhat surreal comedy.

!! Gameplay
* With this game introducing the new Dragon Engine, it brought with it RagdollPhysics, a first for the franchise. While this leads to some extremely satisfying means of combat and motion, it can also present absolutely hilarious moments when the engine [[GoodBadBugs gets hung up on how to properly portray the ragdoll physics in action]]. Examples include:
** Kiryu getting [[PunchedAcrossTheRoom punched back several metres]] or even high into the air by an otherwise normal attack turned into a MegatonPunch.
** Defeated enemies looking as if they're about to go flying, only to gently drop to the floor.
** Defeated enemies falling to the ground, but then popping back up just in time for Kiryu's BondOneLiner.
** Enemies [[SpectacularSpinning spinning at incredible speed after being ragdolled]], sometimes even gaining flight in the process.
