----
* The Seven Stars Restaurant has a couple of rich kids. The rich boy brags that his father is the head chef so he can impress his girlfriend about it...somehow not knowing that his girlfriend's father owns the resort and is his father's boss.
* After learning about Team Galactic's plan in Pastoria City, Barry runs after Crasher Wake to help... [[AttentionDeficitOohShiny and then he sees the Croagunk face cutout...]]
--> '''Barry:''' Does my new outfit look good or what? Croagunk's where it's at.
** And if you go around the back of the cutout to talk to him, he'll ask you why you're not talking to him from the front.
** Him getting distracted by your new laptop at the beginning of the game is pretty funny also.
* After a Galactic Grunt sets off the Galactic Bomb at the Great Marsh, he ends his speech with this:
--> '''Grunt:''' Cheerio, then! ''(to Crasher Wake)'' You daft codger, your mask's absurd!
* In the final Team Galactic event at Stark Mountain, Looker gives you a tearful good-bye. Cue seeing him in the Veilstone Game Corner with you distracting him, and making him lose his winning streak.
* There's a running gag throughout the game that not even the members of Team Galactic seem to know what Cyrus' plan is.
* Outside Amity Square, which only allows "cute" Pokémon inside, an NPC is complaining about discrimination against his Gyarados and Steelix.
* At the Canalave City Library, Barry tries to bolt out from listening to Rowan's worries about Team Galactic. It's heavily implied that Rowan gives Barry a DeathGlare to keep him from running off.
* One of the grunts guarding Lake Acuity says that he's doing this so [[HumbleGoal he can get a Clefairy]]. You later run into the same grunt in Veilstone City, who complains that because you intervened, his Clefairy was taken back.
* In Platinum, after defeating Flint and Volkner outside the Battle Frontier, your rival tries to enter, but is interrupted when Palmer comes out of it and bumps him back ''three'' spaces.
** This becomes even funnier when you realize Palmer is your rival's father, [[GenerationXerox implying that he gets it from him]].
* Flint of the Elite Four has a Lopunny on his team. While it could've been chosen because of its '''warm''' fur, it's very easy to interpret the reason as him finding it [[StealthPun hot]]. Bonus points if you're also talking about a [[UsefulNotes/FurryFandom certain fandom]] infamous for [[PopularWithFurries being attracted to characters like Lopunny]].
* When you defeat Mars at Valley Windworks, the scientist Team Galactic was holding captive is reunited with his daughter...[[MoodWhiplash who, while happy to see him, promptly complains that he stinks and needs to take a shower.]]
* When you first run into Team Galactic at Jubilife City, they are trying to threaten Professor Rowan for his research data. Instead of being afraid, [[CasualDangerDialog Rowan casually has a chat with the Player Character on their talent as a trainer]] before chewing out the grunts on their rude behavior and [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking fashion sense]].
* There's a house in Route 222 with nothing but a man and many Pikachu inside (the "Pikachu Fan Club"). He claims he wants to challenge the League with a team consisting entirely of different Pikachu. You're probably seeing ''his entire team'' at that moment. Then you try talking with every Pikachu just because... It turns out one of them is ''actually a Poké Kid in disguise'', a kid trainer who dresses like a Pikachu. Who immediately challenges you, like usual. And guess what her team consists of?
** This becomes [[ShaggyDogStory even funnier]] when you eventually learn that one of the Elite Four members specializes in [[ElementalRockPaperScissors Ground-type Pokémon]]. Just hope that he is ''very'' CrazyPrepared with Light Ball(s) and every possible coverage moves.
* The Nap Room in the Galactic HQ has a sign that says "Ensure the bed is unoccupied before getting into it!" One must wonder what kind of NoodleIncident had to happen for that to have to have been put up.
* In ''Platinum'', the Resort Area contains the first instance where you can encounter a level 100 wild Pokémon. Under most circumstances, this would prompt an OhCrap from the unsuspecting player who encounters one of these beasts, as a level 100 Pokémon would be hard to run from or defeat without a similarly-leveled Pokémon of their own. That being said, the encounter is actually hilarious if you're lucky enough to get it - because it's a level 100 ''MAGIKARP''!
** ...Which means that if you bother to catch it, the fridge awesome moment means that the Magikarp ''[[YankTheDogsChain can no longer evolve]]''. (Until ''Sword and Shield'', anyway.)
* Regigigas in ''Platinum'' is a pretty hilarious AntiClimaxBoss thanks to its hilariously {{nerf}}ed level. Normally, in ''Diamond and Pearl'', this legendary is ''level 70''. In ''Platinum'', however, the legendary is, for whatever reason, '''Level 1''', so the big Daddy of Golems starts with the level of an infant Pokémon. Those who expected an awesome, over-powered Legendary (especially for what you have to go through to even fight it) are truly in for a surprise.
* One of the Pokémon who has new gender differences is Wobbuffet, where the female apparently wears lipstick.
* In ''Platinum'', you can sometimes find Rowan in the basement of Veilstone Department Store, who's [[NotSoAboveItAll salty]] about the fact that they've ran out of [[ContinuityNod RageCandyBars]].
* A Galactic Grunt in Celestic Town wants to blow the town up because he doesn't think there's anything interesting there. When the player intervenes, the Galactic Grunt "threatens" them with "If you try to mess with me, I'll shut you down with a Pokémon battle." [[{{Narm}} As if that's supposed to be scary]].
* In the remakes, a Pokétch app allows you to call a wild Pokemon to perform a Hidden Move in the overworld without having to resort to your own to do so. Who does it call for every one aside from the Flying-type moves? [[AscendedMeme Bidoof or Bibarel!]]
* In the original games, when comparing a Pokémon's weight with that of your trainer's, weighing a heavy Pokémon would launch your trainer upward and they'd fall back down after a few seconds. In the remakes, they cranked it up a notch with 2D animations of your trainer being launched into the sky. Weighing a Pokémon that's heavy but still under 1.6k lbs. like Dialga will result in the trainer being launched into space and into the bottom of the moon, where their head will get embedded and they'll wiggle their way free before falling back down. Weighing a Pokémon that's over 1.6k like Groudon or Altered Forme Giratina will instead have them shoot through the bottom of the moon and out the top, become ATwinkleInTheSky, and finally crash back to the ground, safe and sound. The sheer absurdity of such a thing being in the game has allowed it to reach {{memetic|Mutation}} status.
** It's a bit more funny when you think that weighing such a heavy Pokémon which sends your character flying could make your character mimic the famous Team Rocket Blast Offs from the anime.
* Like in the previous generation, every Pokémon has different nature and personality traits, including Legendaries. This can bring some unintentional hilarity, such as [[EldritchAbomination Giratina]] with a [[ShrinkingViolet Timid]] nature, or the creator of the universe itself having a Sassy nature.
* A woman in the Berry Master's house sells mulch. And how does she make it?
-->I made it by mixing high-grade soil with Pokémon... um... [[ToiletHumor you know]]...
* In the remakes, during the first battle with Flint, he's got a Drifblim with four status moves. If the player hits the Blimp Pokémon with Taunt (causes the opponent to only use attacking moves for three turns), then he can only use Struggle.
* Sometimes talking to your Pokémon makes this dialogue box pop up: “What? [Pokémon] is evolving!” and then “Nope!” immediately after.
