Jenny Young (Creator/GinaRodriguez) is an aspiring music journalist about to move from New York City to San Francisco after landing a promotion at Magazine/RollingStone. Jenny recruits her two best friends since college, free-spirited Erin (Creator/DeWandaWise) and prim Blair (Creator/BrittanySnow) for one last outrageous girls' night at a music festival they used to frequent. Along the way, they confront their own issues with relationships, each other, and growing up.

!!Tropes:

* AsHimself: Musicians Questlove and Jessie Reyez appear as themselves at Neon Classic.
* BittersweetEnding: The film ends [[spoiler:without Jenny and Nate getting back together or even reconciling, but her friendships with Erin and Blair will remain secure even after she moves]].
* BlackDudeDiesFirst: DiscussedTrope. Upon learning that Jenny has been dumped and is spiraling, Erin (who is black) compares it to the opening of a disaster movie: the moment before the black girl dies and the white girl worriedly looks up at the sky.
* BrosBeforeHoes: "Chicks before dicks" variation; Blair is reluctant to [[spoiler:admit her feelings for Matt because he used to date Jenny]].
* TheCameo: Creator/RosarioDawson as Nate's cousin Hannah.
* CommitmentIssues: Both Jenny and Blair accuse Erin of this, since she's never been in a serious relationship and is reluctant to commit to her new girlfriend Leah. Erin resolves to try and get over it by the end.
* CostumeTestMontage: The girls try on multiple outfits while dancing and drinking copious amounts of alcohol in preparation for Neon Classic.
* DaydreamSurprise: In the end, [[spoiler:Jenny dreams that Nate comes back to "their spot" and asks to give their relationship another shot]]. She wakes up, revealing it to be this trope.
* DrowningMySorrows: Jenny initially copes with the breakup with alcohol and weed.
* DrugsAreGood: The characters take weed and molly for recreation, and it is portrayed as a way to let loose.
* ExperimentedInCollege: [[spoiler:Erin's commitment issues are revealed to be rooted in this. She tells her girlfriend that she dated a woman while they went to college together, and that she was heartbroken when that other woman broke up with her and ended up with a man instead, making her feel like she was just experimenting with her (the full circumstances are never revealed)]].
* FlashbackEcho: Because the breakup is so fresh, seeing things in the present will cause Jenny to flash back to significant moments with Nate. For example, a stroll by the Washington State Park fountain reminds her of how Nate declared it "their spot".
* FunnyBackgroundEvent: While Erin and Leah are having a serious conversation about their relationship, Blair (who is on drugs and listening to music) is in the background watering Leah's plants and dancing.
* LostLoveMontage: Jenny has two. The opening montage (set to Music/{{Lorde}}'s "Supercut") has Jenny go over the highlights of their relationship. As early as this, however, there are already signs that their relationship wasn't working anymore. The second one (set to Ryn Weaver's "Reasons Not to Die") has Jenny remember their happy strolls around the streets of New York, which ends in memories of bitter fighting.
* MisterMuffykins: The girls' drug dealer Hype has multiple tiny, spoiled dogs.
* MostWritersAreWriters: Jenny is a music journalist.
* SweetieGraffiti: In a flashback, Nate vandalizes a fountain for his and Jenny's relationship.
* TokenTrio: Blair, Jenny, and Erin are three best friends who love each other like sisters.
