''Mr. Right'' is a 2015 romantic comedy action film directed by Paco Cabezas and starring Creator/AnnaKendrick and Creator/SamRockwell as the leads. Creator/TimRoth, Creator/JamesRansone, Creator/AnsonMount, Michael Eklund, and [[Music/WuTangClan RZA]] also feature.

When Martha [=McKay=] (Kendrick) discovers that her boyfriend has been cheating on her, she is understandably distraught. Then she meets Francis Munch (Rockwell), a totally funny, romantic guy who loves to dance... and also happens to be a (semi-) reformed CIA hit man. And possibly insane.

!!This film contains examples of:
* BadassAdorable: Martha, by the end. With the kitten ears.
* BadassInANiceSuit: Francis when on the job.
* BerserkButton: Francis hates his own name. Learning that Hopper told Martha causes him to fly into a rage and start kicking him.
* BewareTheSillyOnes: Francis' trademark is a goofy clown nose, he constantly dances everywhere, and he's very deadly.[[spoiler: His final conversation with Hopper implies that he stopped being a hitman not because he had a moral awakening, but that he found it ''boring''. Martha eventually becomes just as goofy and just as dangerous]]
* BlackDudeDiesFirst: [[spoiler: Averted. The Cartigans have two prominent black henchmen; both survive.]]
* BoringInsult: Francis gives this to Hopper before they part.
* BulletTime: What makes Francis so dangerous. Also Martha has the potential for this, which is what draws Francis to her in the first place. [[spoiler: When it kicks in during the third act, it allows her to kill a professional hit man and dodge a headshot at point blank.]]
* CainAndAbel: Von and Richard. Somewhat unusually, the younger brother is in the "Cain" role, a sort of organized crime EvilPrince.
* CassandraTruth: Francis never lies to Martha about the fact that he's an assassin. She just figures he's joking, because who would be honest about that?
* CloudCuckoolander: Both Francis and Martha, part of what makes them work as a couple.
* CloudCuckoolandersMinder: Sophie reigns in Martha’s crazier tendencies.
* CrazyEnoughToWork: Johnny participates in Von's plot to have Francis kill Richard for them since it is just crazy enough scheme that no one will expect it and it might even work.
* DidntThinkThisThrough: A mook pulls a pin on a grenade during the climactic battle against Francis. You can practically see these words roll across his face when he realizes the suicidal implications of that strategy.
* DistantPrologue: The film opens in a classroom, with children sharing what they want to be when they grow up. Young Martha proclaims herself to be a T-Rex, showing that she's always been a bit unusual.
** This doubles as an EstablishingCharacterMoment for Martha.
* {{Drowning My Sorrows}}: Upon breaking up with her cheating boyfriend, the first thing Martha does is pick up the nearest bottle of wine. Two days later, she is still drinking. When her roommate finally manages to get her out of the apartment, Martha promptly resumes drinking at a local bar.
* EvilBrit: Hopper.
* FakeInTheHole: Played with. Hopper sees one drop from the fire escape above him and snarks that he taught Francis that trick. As he goes to pick it up, however, Francis comes around from the other direction and tazes him.
* FriendlyEnemy: Steve, for Francis. By the time they encounter each other again at the mansion, Steve admits he likes Francis a lot more than his supposed employers [[spoiler: leading to his HeelFaceTurn and him saving Francis from Hopper]]
* FromNobodyToNightmare: Martha goes from a CloudCuckoolander with questionable taste in men to [[spoiler: essentially a female version of Francis.]]
* HyperCompetentSidekick: Steve in spades. [[spoiler: Arguably Martha in the final scene.]]
* ImprobableAimingSkills: Francis and Hopper can't seem to miss. Gets more pronounced when Francis decides to stop killing people, and thus has to keep taking trickier shots.
* IneffectualDeathThreats: Subverted. [[spoiler: When Johnny Moon and Von kidnap Martha they assume she's irrational when she vows to kill them both, given she's a waifish woman tied to a chair. Unbeknownst to them, she's very serious and makes good on her threat before the movie ends.]]
* InsaneTrollLogic: Francis kills people who try to hire him as an assassin. Because killing is wrong.
* LaughingMad: One sign that Martha's really ready to just let it all go is her laughing in her captors' faces even as they smack her around.
* TheMadHatter: Francis.
-->'''Francis''': (about his [[RummageSaleReject outfit]]) No, this is a conscious decision, I'm completely fucking bananas.
* TitleDrop: When Martha realizes that despite spending most of the day with him, she has no idea what [[spoiler:Francis']] name is. Sophie sarcastically calls him "Mr. Right", although the sarcasm is somewhat lost on the love-struck Martha.
* OhCrap: The would-be assassin at the end, realizing that he hasn't been watching [[spoiler:''Martha'']].
* OnlyAFleshWound: A blatant one. Catching a shotgun shot with a hand?
* OnTheRebound: Martha meets Francis almost immediately after a breakup and falls for him very quickly.
* OptOut: Hopper declines to take part in the opening attempt on Francis because the mercenaries weren't professional enough. They are all killed while he comments on their mistakes.
* PayEvilUntoEvil: Essentially, Francis' moral code, killing people who hire hitmen (specifically, him).
* PintsizedPowerhouse: A professional killer taunts Martha as the "little turtle" that he can easily crush in order to hurt Francis. She proceeds to bludgeon him to a pulp.
* PlotIncitingInfidelity: Martha begins the film by breaking up with her boyfriend after catching him cheating on her. This conveniently leaves her free to start dating Francis. And possibly gives her enough of a push to leave her old life behind, that she's open to killing a few people.
* RefugeInAudacity: Francis gives so many outlandish hints that he's a hitman, that even [[{{Cloudcuckoolander}} Martha]] thought he was messing around. Best shown is when Francis returns to Martha during their date after killing a {{Mook}}, he told her that he had just finished killing someone. Martha assumed he was joking.
* SanitySlippage: Well, Martha's always been a bit of a CloudCuckoolander, and then her boyfriend breaks up with her. And then her new fling is a bit cuckoo himself. And then he kills someone. And then it turns out he's a hitman. And then it turns out the guy who told her he's a hitman is also a hitman. And then she's taken hostage and beaten. Maybe it's no surprise she's a bit more willing to let her inner psycho loose by the end of the film.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: After Francis attempts to guilt trip Richie's hitmen away from killing him, one of the grunts falls for it and leaves, much to Von's chagrin.
* ShotgunsAreJustBetter: Inverted. Steve is equipped with what he dubs an "Elmer Fudd shotgun", which is so weak that Francis can block a shot from it with his hand (painfully).
* SmallGirlBigGun: Martha with the pistol and the kitten ears.
* StealthHiBye: Francis pulls this on a regular basis. Martha gets in on this at the end.
* TookALevelInBadass: By the end of the movie Martha has become an extremely capable ActionGirl.
* TrickedToDeath: How do you kill the leader of your gang? Talk him into hiring a hitman who kills people when they hire him! What could be simpler?
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Sophie is last seen locked in a closet.
