3	''Jumping the Broom'' is a 2011 {{dramedy}} film directed by Salim Akil. The plot involves two African-American families living on opposite ends of the socioeconomic spectrum, who have to get together for a wedding on Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts.

5	The Taylors are a downtown working-class family, whose matriarch Pam Taylor (Creator/LorettaDevine) is very upset when her son Jason (Creator/LazAlonso) announces that he is getting married to Sabrina Watson (Creator/PaulaPatton) at the last minute. Sabrina belongs to the Watsons, a wealthy uptown family led by Claudine Watson (Creator/AngelaBassett), who is just as upset as Pam to learn of the impending nuptials. When the families finally meet at the Watsons' estate, it doesn't take long for Pam and Claudine to clash, especially when it comes to how the wedding should go. Sure enough, the wedding itself turns out to be the least of everyone's worries as the date draws closer...
