1[[quoteright:214:]]˛˛''Ghost Storm'' is a 2011 horror movie about a small island community attacked by a violent electrical storm fueled by the restless spirits of a mass suicide. It's up to Sheriff Hal Miller to save the town.˛˛----˛!!This film contains examples of:˛˛* ArtisticLicensePhysics: Hal connects an electrical cord via jumper cable to a ground wire, and as he's holding it in place, he gets electrocuted. Apparently, the film makers don't fully comprehend the purpose of a ground wire, or insulating rubber.˛* AssholeVictim: [[spoiler: Carl.]]˛* AttackOfTheKillerWhatever: It's a storm full of venegful spirits for crying out loud!˛* AxCrazy: [[spoiler: Carl.]]˛* BloodMagic: The storm tendrils start getting replaced by evil blood tendrils later in the film, for... [[RuleOfScary no reason, really]]. The plot plays it like the blood can get into cracks and places that fog from the storm can't, which couldn't make less sense, given that ''blood is thicker than air''.˛* BMovie˛* ChekhovsGun: The medallion on the memorial.˛** Ashley's weather balloons.˛* CreepyCemetery˛* DuctTapeForEverything: Need to seal the cracks in your windows to keep out a ghost storm? Accept no substitute.˛* EverythingFades: An interesting application of this trope in film - victims of the storm deteriorate so quickly, they simply fall apart into dust.˛* HauntedTechnology: The spirits apparently possess an iPhone in one scene.˛* HeroicSacrifice: [[spoiler: Father Telmo]] was prepared to try, but he is killed before he can actually make the attempt. This [[EstablishingCharacterMoment solidifies the storm's place]] as a {{Jerkass}}.˛** [[spoiler: Greg gives the medallion to Hal, protecting him from the storm tendril attacking them and making himself the target instead.]]˛* HostileWeather˛* NaughtyTentacles: [[spoiler:A man hides in the bathroom while trying to escape the Ghost Storm where a tentacle suddenly sprouts from the toilet and digs into the man's mouth right as he explodes in a burst of blood.]]˛* PeekABooCorpse: A couple attempt to hide in a room from the Ghost Storm as it invaded the church. The girl then tells the guy that both of them should kiss, thinking doing so would spare them from the ectoplasmic abomination. [[spoiler:Midway in the kiss, the man suddenly realizes the girl unexplainably becomes a desicated mummified corpse, causing him to scream in terror right as the Ghost Storm kills him.]]˛* SecretUndergroundPassage: Under the church.˛* SlowElectricity˛* TheSheriff: Hal.˛* TooDumbToLive: [[spoiler: Mary]] sees the storm tendril approaching her rather slowly, so she... runs to her nearby car. But she doesn't start it, despite ample time. She just watches as it slowly seeps into the car, and only tries to get her keys out of her pocket after she's chest deep in the storm cloud.˛** Many of the townspeople are also this, after repeated requests to stay indoors, they insist on wandering around outside, looking at clouds.˛** Hal himself can be this. He seems to have a hard time believing the paranormal investigator when he says that the storm is paranormal... even after Hal was attacked by a ghostly tendril, and saw [[spoiler: Doug]] killed by it.˛* TownWithADarkSecret: [[spoiler: The storm is the result of a murderous cult that was planning to sacrifice an altar boy. The town intervened, things turned violent, the cultists were burned alive, and the altar boy was killed in the crossfire. The storm is made of those malevolent spirits.]]˛* TragicMistake: The town attempts to defeat the ghost storm using a firetruck's hose and water cannon. Predictably, it does not work and cost the lives of two firefighters.˛* TrojanHorse: The basis of the plan to stop the storm. [[spoiler: The plan was to fly the talisman on a weather balloon into the storm, operating on the same frequency as the storm as to fool the ghosts.]]˛* WeaksauceWeakness: The storm tendrils are repelled by... fire extinguishers. For some reason.˛* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Greg.˛˛----
