Orange rain from a suspect storm cloud spreads a zombie-like infection among the population, and the cast of HTF are forced into a [[RoadTripPlot cross-country journey]] to escape the chaos. But, naturally, things go very, very wrong.
10	* ''Comments'': This story is incomplete and likely dead, having not been updated since January 2011, but the fifteen chapters that are there contain some of the most heartwrenching and engaging writing that you may ever see in an HTF fan work. It's dark, unsettling, depressing, gory, and amazing. The author plays with the characters and twists them, but still manages to keep them somewhat true to the show while making them much darker and more mature. A shame that it has not been updated in nearly five years at the time of writing.

Focusing on Nutty of all characters is a pretty neat idea, especially giving him wings and taking him to new places. It's a shame because this fanfiction seems to have been abandoned. It's also quite meta-the beginning focuses on the HTF movie and how the Tree Friends rehearse for it. It also sounds like it was going to be scenery-based. I don't understand the concept of putting it on a Wikia instead of Fanfiction.net, though. A secret wikia nonetheless.

After Splendid accidentally wrecks the apartment building Lifty and Shifty live in, they blackmail him into letting them stay at his home until it's repaired. The main focus of the story is the relationship between Lifty and Shifty and the criminal hijinks the two get up to. While the grammar and spelling could use polishing, the characters are enjoyably written, with the contrast between the twins' jerkish, snarky personalities (although with the occasional small bit of affection toward each other) and Splendid's sunny, well-meaning one making for a fun contrast. Sadly seems to be a DeadFic, being last updated July 2015.

It's currently being worked on, even though the last chapter as of this comment (Flaky) was released on August 11th. The creator of the fanfic is currently working on Cuddles' chapter. It's a great fanfiction that, to me, captures the spirit of ''Happy Tree Friends'' as a series. ~[=RabbitTopeBall=]

The canon characters behave exactly like you'd expect, and there are some nice [[CallBack Call Backs]] and MythologyGags for the fans.
