''[[http://www.planetrea.com/reath/index.html Planet Reath]]'', by Bucky Rea.
* Recommended by @/{{Specialist290}}
* ''Synopsis'': An extremely ambitious project to concurrently chronicle the complete histories of each and every civilization in a 31-player multiplayer game [[AnotherSideAnotherStory from its own point of view]]. Even more impressive is the fact that the whole thing, from the game itself to the write ups, has been concocted and executed by one man. It's not finished yet by any means, but the sheer fact that the author's already covered 3000 years of 31 different factions is impressive in and of itself.
** As of November 2013, it seems to have gone down again. You can still find an older version of it via the [[http://web.archive.org/web/20110720024601/http://www.planetrea.com/reath/index.html Wayback Machine]], sans images and with a few missing subpages.

''[[http://lparchive.org/Civilization-4/ Let's Play Civilization IV: The End of History]]'' by Zoolooman
* Recommended by @/{{Specialist290}}
* ''Status'': Dead
* ''Synopsis'': The author narrates the rise of the Russian civilization from a humble collection of settlers to a great world power. Far from being a mere game report, the author writes in a ScrapbookStory format, inventing and incorporating multiple "primary sources" that go in-depth about his empire's political, social, economic, and military affairs, piecing it together as if it were a real story, as well as increasingly-less-subtle hints that the whole thing is being masterminded by a GovernmentConspiracy. The author implies as the story progresses that the game itself has already finished; sadly, [[DeadFic the story itself is not]]. If you don't mind being LeftHanging at the end, though, I would highly recommend it to any fan of the ''Civilization'' series.

* ''Synopsis'': This is one of the epic stories of Civilization Fanatics Forums; the author himself describes it as "the love child between the history of the Roman Empire and ''Literature/WarAndPeace''." It's a novel-like (and [[{{Doorstopper}} novel-length]]) account of the history of Rome as it struggles to survive against its rivals and ascend to global supremacy.
** A word of warning: Some of the writing at the beginning is a bit rough, [[SlowPacedBeginning but it gets better.]]

''[[http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=375243 The History of Humanity - The Lost Stories]]'' by The Number Pi
* Recommended by @/{{Alexius08}}
* ''Status'': Complete
* ''Synopsis'': This story is the most viewed story in The Number Pi's History of Humanity series for featuring a [[NestedStory story within a story]]: the first part was played in Rhye's and Fall of Civilization and the second part was played in Next War. Both parts seamlessly fit together within the story. The leaderhead switch mechanics from RFC were also referenced within the story in a satisfactory way. The Number Pi started as the English, then collapsed and managed to switch to America before London could be overrun by neighboring Europeans. Then, starting over at America, the player [[AmericaTakesOverTheWorld established complete hegemony over the New World]] and set the stage for the Next War part of the story.

* Status: Complete
* ''Synopsis'': A crossover of sorts between Civilization V and The Princess Bride. At the end of a session of world congress, Washington reads a book sent by an anonymous author. As he reads, he is interrupted by the commentary and [[ImagineSpot imagine spots]] of the other leaders. The story pokes some fun at the Civilization leaders and their roles in the story, and oftentimes includes historical facts. For a first-time author, this story is a fun read.

* Status: Complete
* ''Synopsis'': [[VideoGame/MetalGear Big Boss]] and his soldiers find themselves castaways in a strange new world, filled with some of history's most infamous and bloodthirsty leaders. Can this old soldier master the arts of diplomacy, economics and research, or is he doomed to an eternity of violence? And just what the hell is going on here? A playthrough of ''Civ V'' using the Militaires Sans Frontiers faction mod that shows what both it and the core game can do, and also includes narrative interludes describing Big Boss' battles against the other leaders that are crazy enough to be in a ''Metal Gear'' game.
