''The Loud Sim Date'' is a Drama/Mystery ''WesternAnimation/TheLoudHouse'' Fanfic written by Creator/{{Exotos135}}. It started in September 14th, 2016 and ended in January 21st, 2017, with 51 chapters.

After Lincoln brings a prototype virtual reality helmet home, the sisters end up playing a dating sim based on their family. If that's not weird enough, the helmets seem to cause behavioral changes in the sisters, causing problems for everyone to deal with... And from there on, things get crazy.

Surprisingly enough though, there isn't an incest harem involved, despite what other fics tend to entail. Overall, a good read for the curious. You can read it [[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12149549/1/The-Loud-Sim-Date here]].

'''Note''': Because of the large amount of tropes, and the size of this fic, be careful and avoid spoilers.

!!This fanfic includes examples of:

[[foldercontrol]]

[[folder: #-D]]
* TenMinuteRetirement: Lincoln gets into one after chapter 33, where [[spoiler: he's stuck in the hospital after being stabbed]].
* AbortedArc: As early as chapter 2, Virtual Lucy warns Lincoln that she'll be watching him if he tries to hurt Virtual Lynn. As of this writing, the threat has not been referenced since then, and with the sim date itself becoming less relevant to the plot, it's unlikely to be solved either.
** [[spoiler: While the game itself doesn't come back, the helmets make a return in the final battle]].
** The Lynn/Lucy/Lincoln love triangle plot is just suddenly abandoned after Lynn and Lucy turn back to normal.
* AccidentalPervert: Lincoln accidentily sits on Ronnie Anne's [[spoiler: tail]] in chapter 50. As that part of her body is pretty sensitive and suggestive, it also causes her some physical pain.
* AllForNothing: [[spoiler: Ronnie Anne]]'s plan to [[spoiler: protect Lincoln]] is completely rendered moot when [[spoiler: Cristina rapes him]].
** While it was implied before, it becomes quite clear in the final battle that [[spoiler: Cristina]]'s plans amount to absolutely nothing. While she [[spoiler: broke the Loud sisters]], they will recover, her attempts to protect Lincoln only makes him hate her, trying to get him and [[spoiler: Ronnie Anne]] together only makes him and [[spoiler: Ronnie]] hate her even more, and by [[spoiler: raping Lincoln]], she practically rendered her original motive completely null. So, even after she tried so hard to accomplish her goals, nothing Cristina did actually had any negative long-lasting effect on the Louds in the end.
** Ironically enough though, her actions may have actually brought more good than harm.
* AllOrNothing: The whole final battle can be seen as this, since [[spoiler: Cristina]] does whatever she can in order to succeed in something against the Louds. But alas, see above.
* AlmightyMom: It becomes very clear that Mrs. Loud wears the pants in the relationship once she realizes something's bothering her daughters.
* AloneWithThePsycho: A minor example with Lana and Lynn, who are alone at the beach for a good deal of chapter 11.
** A far more dramatic example happens in chapter 34, where [[spoiler: Lincoln and Cristina]] wind up sharing the same room and they're left alone soon afterwards...
* AmbiguouslyBi: Lucy [[spoiler: ends up having a crush-[[AmbiguousSituation apparently]]-on Lincoln, and dating Virtual Lynn]].
** Lori fits as well: She makes her character in the game a girl despite knowing she can only date other girls, and [[spoiler: once the chips start taking effect, she starts to love Leni]]. So much, in fact, she breaks up with Bobby over it.
* AmbiguouslyEvil: Cristina. Not only does Lincoln get the VR game and helmets from her (technically), but this winds up [[spoiler: getting his sister brainwashed]]. [[spoiler: And she's apparently not done yet]]... [[spoiler: And given later revelations and events, it can be safely said she's not so ambiguous anymore]].
** Being in leagues with Cristina, [[spoiler: Ronnie Anne]] also counts as this, though it's more on the ambiguous side rather than the evil side. [[spoiler: She soon inverts this when she becomes undoubtly good]].
** Some of Cristina's subordinates, The Four Lovers, mostly Storge and Eros. [[spoiler: All but one of them wind up becoming good]].
** Let's not forget [[spoiler: Leni]], who apparently has some plans for [[spoiler: her]] family. [[spoiler: However, no matter what she planned to do, Leni is still a small fry compared to Cristina]].
** And of course, the voice.
* AmbiguouslyHuman: Storge ([[spoiler: Carol Pingrey]]) and [[spoiler: Cristina]] both can have their humanity come into question, the former by her shapeshifting ability, and the latter not only from what she showed capable of in her [[spoiler: fight with Lisa]], but also her apparently ability to ''fly'' shown after [[spoiler: she gave Lori something to give Lincoln]]. [[spoiler: However, they are later revealed to be HardLight projections, and Cristina all but ceases to be human when she takes the ghoul serum]].
* AmbiguousSituation: Lucy's feelings towards Lincoln. Is she in love with him? Is she just more friendly to him than most sisters, since they're closer than them? [[spoiler: Is this a side-effect of the chips]]? Nobody knows.
** Lola and Lana's feelings for each other. Just like Lucy, is it something they have since they were younger, [[spoiler: or is it because of the chips]]?
** [[spoiler: Cristina's]] ''entire plan with the helmets'' fall firmly into this, and later on, so does her second plan. Seriously, what is she even planning?
** Another [[spoiler: Cristina]]-related one, her appearance and even buying Luna and Luan a drink, giving a smile of approval at their sight. How did she get there, why did she buy the drink, and what is she even doing there?
* AnArmAndALeg: [[spoiler: Leni]] loses her arm to Cristina, which is then promptly [[spoiler: cannibalized]].
** [[spoiler: Cristina]], in return, loses her left arm when [[spoiler: Lincoln]] comes and slashes it off. Then again, [[spoiler: Ronnie Anne]] broke it beforehand...
* AndIMustScream: Once you think about it, [[spoiler: Ronnie Anne]]'s torture counts as this. She's bounded in a chair and forced to watch, in a VR simulation, how [[spoiler: Lincoln doesn't love her back and is taken away by someone else]]. And she has to endure this for a whole week. [[spoiler: Luckily, her brother saves her]], but it's still pretty dang cruel.
** [[spoiler: Cristina]]'s ultimate fate is [[spoiler: having her head, stomach and ''crotch'' pierced by rubble, then sent to a maximum security prison, while remaining as a ghoul and with something keeping her alive]]. She totally deserves it, though.
* AnguishedDeclarationOfLove: Once the Louds reach [[spoiler: Cristina's HQ]], [[spoiler: Lisa]] delivers one to [[spoiler: Lincoln]]. And to make matters worse, [[spoiler: Ronnie Anne was nearby when that happened]]...
* AntagonistAbilities: The Four Lovers and Cristina in general have mind-control on their side ([[spoiler: Though Ronnie Anne is never shown using mind control on anyone]]), and of the Lovers, Storge ([[spoiler: Carol Pingrey]]) has shapeshifting, and Cristina can seemingly fly and
** Cristina becomes this, not only for real but even worse than before, after [[spoiler: becoming a ghoul]]. She gets, in order: [[spoiler: An impressive HealingFactor that can seemingly heal any injury]], [[spoiler: A set of combat tentacles to do the dirty work for her]], [[spoiler: the ability to withstand quite a lot of punishment]], and it becomes ''even worse'' after she [[spoiler: cannibalizes Leni]], since she gains [[spoiler: her body-morphing abilities]] on top of everything else said.
* ArmorPiercingQuestion:
** "Have you done my route yet?" [[spoiler: Lucy asked Lincoln earlier to play her route in order to get an easier time with the game. When she realizes Lincoln isn't even paying attention to her, and probably didn't do that in the first place, she's heartbroken]].
** "What is wrong, Lori? What is bothering you so much that you don't tell your sisters the truth? Is it Bobby? Me? The game? Tell me, don't just leave me hanging!" [[spoiler: Leni complaining to Lori when she fails to reveal the truth to Luna and Luan]].
* AutoCannibalism: [[spoiler: Cristina]] eats part of herself after cannibalizing [[spoiler: Leni]]. She quickly drops this once [[spoiler: Ronnie Anne and Lori]] team up to beat her up, however.
* AwesomeByAnalysis: The fact that Lisa built an analyzer just to figure out the inner machinations of the helmets.
* AwfulTruth: As if cannibalizing her and humilliating her in front of a bunch of people wasn't enough, [[spoiler: Cristina]] reveals to [[spoiler: Leni]] that [[spoiler: the ghoul serum's effects are actually permanent, and thus they're all doomed to remain as ghouls for the rest of their lives]]. [[spoiler: Or at least until Lisa makes the cure]].
* AxCrazy: [[spoiler: Lucy]] after her obsession with Lincoln becomes murderous.
* BadassNormal: Mrs. Johnson, Carol, Bobby, really, anybody who doesn't turn into a superpowered [[spoiler: ghoul]] or winds up hospitalized during the final battle earns this title, specially [[spoiler: Lincoln]], who not only manages to go toe-to-toe with [[spoiler: a superpowered ghoul Cristina]], but manages to win in the end.
* BadDate: What Luna and Luan's first try at a date degenerates into once [[spoiler: Storge, A.K.A. Carol Pingrey]], appears and [[spoiler: takes Luna's place]].
** Lincoln and Ronnie Anne's "date" in chapter 33, courtesy of it actually being a ploy by [[spoiler: Cristina]] to get them together.
* BaitAndSwitch: When Lynn sees Lincoln was about to date her virtual counterpart, at first it looks like she's angry that Lincoln was going to date one of his sisters. Then it turns out they're more surprised at the fact Lincoln picked Lynn, out of all the girls, to be his first date. Lampshaded by Lincoln:
--> ''Lincoln'': Are you mad because I picked you over the other girls, or are you mad because I'm apparently dating you in the first place?
** Also, the opening narration of chapter 4 makes it sound like Lucy and Lynn are dating each other... for about a second before revealing they're actually dating their virtual replicas.
** As a meta example, the title and synopsis indicate that the plot is primarily about the VR sim dating game the Louds own. While the game does kickstart the plot, it becomes clear in later chapters that something more is going on, and even the game itself starts to lose relevance as more of the plot is revealed.
* BatmanGambit: Lincoln and Ronnie Anne pull this off in chapter 49. [[spoiler: Lincoln has Ronnie break all the platforms inside the tower while he fends off against Cristina, all while they make the ground more and more unstable as the battle rages on. Once Ronnie finishes her part, Lincoln then angers Cristina enough to make her smash the ground with her hammer-arm, which destroys the ground and sends the three of them plummeting to the ground]].
* BattleAura: [[spoiler: Ronnie Anne, Lori, Leni and Cristina]] showcase these during the final battle. [[spoiler: And then Cristina gets a ''double''aura]].
* BerserkButton: Lucy’s is sleeping with Lincoln. Luna’s is trying to hurt Luan.
* BigBad: [[spoiler: Cristina]].
* [[BigBrotherWorship Big Sister Admiration]]: Lana is revealed to have this towards Lynn in chapter 30.
* BigBrotherInstinct and BigSisterInstinct: Lincoln has the former in general, like in canon, and Lynn exhibits the latter during chapter 7, when she looks for Lucy.
** Bobby and Ronnie also show signs of both, since the reason Bobby [[spoiler: joined the Four Lovers]] is to keep an eye on Ronnie Anne, and Ronnie herself soon replaces [[spoiler: Bobby]] with [[spoiler: Clyde]] in order to get him out of the whole mess.
* BigDamnHeroes: Lori and Lola save [[spoiler: Lana from being molested by Lynn]] in chapter 11.
** Then, in chapter 39, Lori and Leni save Lisa from [[spoiler: being murdered by Cristina]] during their fight.
* BittersweetEnding: [[spoiler: Cristina is defeated and her plans are foiled, but The people she harmed have still been harmed and will possibly not recover from those scars, while her, Lori, Leni and Ronnie Anne are stuck as ghouls, Mrs. Johnson is distraught over her and many of the sibling relationships have been changed dramatically.]]
* BlowingARaspberry: Cristina blows one at Lisa after she fails to capture her.
** She does this again [[spoiler: just before escaping after installing the new chips]] in chapter 6.
* BodyHorror: An internal example. After [[spoiler: electrocuting herself by basically punching her laptop until it broke]], coupled by [[spoiler: intense emotional issues]], [[spoiler: Cristina]]'s organs now move in an erratic beat that prevents them from working properly, and unless electrocuted, they will remain like that until something worse happens.
** This gets ''even worse'' after the final battle, since not only is [[spoiler: Cristina a ghoul, which could also count as this]], but [[spoiler: her head, stomach and crotch have been pierced by rubble]]. And she didn't even die from that!
* BookEnds: The first chapter begins at school, with Lincoln approaching Cristina in her locker. The penultimate part in the final chapter has Lincoln, Ronnie Anne and Clyde heading back there to put a picture of her on her locker.
** [[spoiler: The plot starts with VR helmets being used to interact with virtual sisters, during the final battle, the VR helmets return to help Lincoln fight. (The sisters use them to manipulate hard-light replicas of themselves)]].
* BrainBleach: Mentioned in [[spoiler: Ronnie's letter connected to her gift]], as the thing she recommends Lincoln to have nearby. Seeing what the content of the gift is, it's understandable she'd suggest having tha beforehand.
* {{Brainwashing}}: [[spoiler: This is what the helmets, and more importantly the chips, wind up doing: they make the Loud sisters act like lesbians through unknown means]].
* BreakThemByTalking: Cristina employs this against all the Louds to an extent, but the clearest example is with [[spoiler: Leni]], who she verbally destroys as she slowly rips off her arm.
* BreakTheCutie: Let's be blunt; Every single Loud gets broken over the course of the story, with the ones geting the worst treatment being Luan, Lola, etc. [[spoiler: Which is what Cristina's counting on]].
** Going by the hints, [[spoiler: Cristina]] herself was broken when she [[spoiler: researched rule 34]].
** Ronnie Anne is similarly left broken, though in a subtle state, after [[spoiler: Lincoln gets stabbed and hospitalized]].
* [[BreatherEpisode Breather Chapter]]: Chapter 8, 16, and 40.
** Chapter 35 counts to an extent, since it only deals with Lincoln and [[spoiler: Cristina]] talking about the sisters.
* BrokenPedestal: Reference by the voice in chapter 11:
--> ''The voice'': Pedestals can be broken, kid. The bigger they are, the harder they fall. So enjoy your pedestal while it stands, child... it will fall eventually... soon enough.
** And soon afterwards, [[spoiler: Lynn molests Lana later in the chapter]].
* BrotherSisterIncest: [[InvertedTrope Inverted]]. Despite many Loud House fanfics having this happen with Lincoln and one of his sisters, it's actualy very much absent in this fic. The closest equivalent so far is Lisa's growing affection with Lincoln, but it's clear that's not gonna become romantic anytime soon.
* BrotherSisterTeam: Lincoln and Lynn form one in chapter 7 in order to find Lucy.
** Lisa and Lincoln also form one, to a lesser extent. The two are commonly together when [[spoiler: Lisa discusses the deal with the chips]], Lincoln comes to Lisa often-although, given the situation, he has no other choice-and they seem to have a solid relationship overall. Not to mention Lisa eventually develops something of an affection towards him.
* BrutalHonesty: Leni very bluntly tells her parents in chapter 6 that [[spoiler: Lincoln brought the VR game, which is the main reason why they all acted weird yesterday]].
** Also, Lucy doesn't hold back any punches when she tells Lincoln she loves him [[spoiler: after she changes because of the chip]].
* [[BubbleBoy Bubble Girl]]: Lola puts Lana inside a bubble in order to protect her from [[spoiler: Lynn]]. It doesn't last.
* TheBusCameBack: After being hospialized for most of te early stages of the story, [[spoiler: Carol Pingrey]] returns as the nurse assigned to [[spoiler: Cristina]].
* CatapultNightmare: Lincoln has one during chapter 15 after [[spoiler: Lisa stabs her in his dream]].
* CannibalismSuperpower: Going by what [[spoiler: Cristina]] showed, [[spoiler: ghouls]] have this sort of power, though the only instance of this ever being done is [[spoiler: Cristina cannibalizing Leni]].
* CanNotSpitItOut: [[spoiler: Lisa's feelings for Lincoln.]]
* CerebusSyndrome: The story started as a lighthearted quirky deconstruction about harems. Starting from the Aloha Beach Resort arc, however, things start to get dark, and by the time [[spoiler: the heartbreaks happen]], the story grows progressively darker until the darkness reaches a peak during the last couple of chapters.
* ChekhovsGun: [[spoiler: The Bracelets.]]
** The ghoul serum is mentioned early in the fic, but doesn't play a role until [[spoiler: Lori, Leni, Cristina and Ronnie Anne]] take it in order to [[spoiler: become ghouls]].
* ChekhovsGunman: [[spoiler: Ronnie Anne and Carol to an extent.]]
* TheChessmaster: [[spoiler: Cristina]] sets up an entire scenario that forces the plot along. Even going as far as to create [[spoiler: bracelets]] to further her goal.
* ChristmasInJuly: The season the story is set in has never been explicitly stated, but chapter 20 has a distinct Christmas-like feeling to it.
* ClingyJealousGirl: Lucy starts to show mannerisms like this in chapter 6, specifically when Lincoln talks with Ronnie Anne.
* ColdBloodedTorture: [[spoiler: Cristina]] employs this at least three times:
** First, she tortures [[spoiler: Lori]] by showing her "the truth", which ends with her crying tears of blood.
** Then, she does the exact same to [[spoiler: Lola]], except she also makes sure to attack her...[[GroinAttack Down there]].
** Finally, after she betrayed her, she tortures [[spoiler: Ronnie Anne]] by leaving her in a basement and forcing her to watch, in a VR simulation, how [[spoiler: Lincoln not only doesn't love her back but is taken away by someone else]].
** And she didn't stop even after [[spoiler: becoming a ghoul]], since once she pins her to the ground, she breaks [[spoiler: Leni]] through talking while she slowly, painfully rips off her arm.
* TheConfidant: Leni, at least in chapter 7.
--> ''Leni'': You know you can tell me anything!
* ConsolationBackfire: Lynn tries to comfort Lucy after she's heartbroken by Lincoln [[spoiler: not playing her route]]. Naturally, since [[spoiler: Lynn's route]] was among the ones that Lincoln did [[spoiler: play]], she's more angry at her.
* CorruptTheCutie: [[spoiler: Leni]] is on the receiving end of this, which causes her to go from the sweetheart she is in canon to the jerk she becomes in later chapters.
* CoupDeGrace: After paralyzing Ronnie Anne and [[spoiler: having her arm broken]], Cristina seemingly prepares to do this to her. [[spoiler: Luckily, Lincoln appeared in the nick of time.]]
* CrappyCarnival: Surprisingly enough, the epilogue's carnival is actually [[InvertedTrope really well made]].
* CurbStompBattle: [[spoiler: Cristina's battle with Lisa]] can be described as this.
** Later on during the [[spoiler: final battle]], most of it can be seen as this, especially after Cristina gets her [[HeroicSecondWind Villainous Second Wind]]. At first, it's this for the heroes, but soon they turn it against Cristina before said second wind.
* CuteMute: Cristina, to an extent. [[spoiler: She loses the mute part in chapter 21]].
* DarkerAndEdgier: At first this doesn't seem to apply, since the plot is fairly lighthearted and there's a bit of humor. Then the sisters start actng different... Then [[spoiler: the truth about the chips is revealed]]... Then [[WhamEpisode the Aloha Beach Resort Arc]] happens...
* DatingSim: Lincoln brings one of these home, kick starting the plot.
* DavidVersusGoliath: [[spoiler: Lincoln vs. Cristina]] during chapter 50. By this point, [[spoiler: Lincoln]] is still a normal human armed with a knife, and [[spoiler: Cristina]] is [[spoiler: a ghoul that not only has an incredibly powerful healing factor, but she has not one, but two sets of powers thanks to cannibalizing Leni]]. [[spoiler: Lincoln still wins in the end]].
* DeadlyEuphemism: Being sent to "The Garden", by [[spoiler: Cristina]]'s order.
* {{Deconstruction}}: As said below, IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy is deconstructed by Lori's decision to stay quiet about [[spoiler: the chips]]. Yeah, her family is happy, but it only lasts up until the Aloha Beach Resort arc begins.
** Lana's attempt to get Lucy out of Lynn's mind deconstruct ICanChangeMyBeloved. Basically, [[spoiler: it ends with her being molested, and with Lynn still obsessed with Lucy]].
** Ronnie deconstructs IGaveMyWord and HonorBeforeReason with her [[spoiler: promise to Cristina to help her get revenge]]. It deconstructs the former because [[spoiler: she lets everything up to chapter 33 happen because of her promise]], and the latter is deconstructed because her family pride prevents her from just calling it quits.
** Lola winds up becoming a slight deconstruction of MySisterIsOffLimits and the "overprotective sibling" kind of character. After [[spoiler: Lana is molested by Lynn]], she does whatever she can to make sure Lana never gets hurt again. Thing is, Lana winds up being more annoyed with it than thankful, and eventually this winds up causing a falling out between the two before [[spoiler: Lola is tortured by Cristina]].
** [[spoiler: Cristina]] deconstructs the ComplexityAddiction and BatmanGambit-oriented plans that have specific requirements. Even if they do wind up working, when even one thing goes out of control ([[spoiler: Agape and Ronnie betraying her, for instance]]) her whole plan falls apart.
* DeconstructionFic: The fic itself isn't that big on deconstruction all the time, but the basic premise can be taken as a deconstruction of the typical "incest harem" fic.
** The sisters change behavior [[spoiler: because of mind-controlling helmets and chips]].
** Lincoln, instead of going along with it or accepting it, is instead worried for his sisters and tries his best to help them through their hardships.
** Instead of going back to normal as if nothing had happened, the sisters are left scarred from the experience.
* DefrostingIceQueen: Lisa is basically indistinguishible from her canon self at the start of the fic, but as the fic goes on, she definitely starts to melt away her frosty demeanor, mostly around Lincoln.
* DemotedToExtra: Unlike in the show, where she at least gets some development and episodes of focus, Lily is either largely unimportant, relegated to being Lisa's comedic foil, or simply not present at all. Possibly justified because A) It's far easier to emotionaly torment developed children and teenagers and B) Adding her to the mess would make the fic ''[[SerialEscalation even more messed up]]'' than it already is and C) She's a baby, so it would make sense to not have her around.
* DenserAndWackier: Mind-controlling helmets, lesbian relationships, [[spoiler: ghouls]]... It's safe to say this fic is ''far'' weirder than the series it's based on.
* [[DeusExMachina Deus Ex Machina]]: Some plot points seem like this.
** [[spoiler: The Ghoul Serum]].
** [[spoiler: The Hardlight manipulating helmets at the end]].
* DisasterDominoes: [[spoiler: Ronnie and Agape, A.K.A. Tetherby's]] betrayal sets off a chain of events that completely messes up [[spoiler: Cristina]]'s plan to get Lincoln and Ronnie together, and take whatever sanity she has left in the process.
* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: The whole premise, actually. Specifically, doesn't "characters start acting weird and grow in love with their own siblings" sound like the plot of every shipping fanfic ever?
** In chapter 20, Cristina can be seen reading comic books in her underwear.
* DoNotGoGentle: Lincoln is told by Leni to use the knife he got from [[spoiler: Carol]] in order to [[spoiler: defeat Cristina]] once and for all.
* {{Doorstopper}}: 51 chapters with 206,590 words total, with most chapters being in the 3000-5000 word range. See you in a couple hours!
* DoubleMeaning: Ronnie's warning in chapter 9 can be seen as this, [[spoiler: especially since she's talking about the sisters, not just Lincoln and Cristina's plan]].
* DoubleStandardRapeFemaleOnFemale: During the Resort arc, Lynn starts molesting Lana [[spoiler: thanks to the chip's effects]], but luckily enough, Lola and Lori stop before it gets any worse. [[AvertedTrope This is not shown to be okay]] and [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone not only is Lynn left terribly guilty over the whole incident, but Lana is particularly left shaken and traumatized from the ordeal]].
* DramaticWind: The wind blows as Lincoln has a meeting with Virtual Lucy after meeting with Virtual Lynn.
** It blows like this once more when [[spoiler: Lana confesses how much she looks up to Lynn]].
* DoubleStandardRapeFemaleOnMale: Averted once more. [[spoiler: Cristina raping Lincoln]] is treated as one of the worst things she could've ever done, specially by [[spoiler: Ronnie Anne]], since it [[AllForNothing renders all her effort for nothing]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder: E-M]]
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: The first few chapters were not exactly long, lasting around 1000-2000+ words at best. Current chapters now tend to fall within the 3000-5000 word range.
* EarnYourHappyEnding: After much misery, drama, angst and terrible things happening to the Louds, they ''finally'' get a happy ending after the final battle, since not only do they manage to recover from everything Cristina did to them (some with the help of Lisa's machine), but they also manage to return things to... ''mostly'' normal standards.
* EtTuBrute: Let's just say [[spoiler: Cristina]] '''''does not''''' take [[spoiler: Ronnie]]'s betrayal well.
* ExoticEyeDesigns: For some bizarre reason, [[spoiler: Lucy]]'s eyes turn shield-like [[spoiler: as a side-effect from the helmet's chip]]. Even more bizarre is that this doesn't apply to the rest of the sisters, making [[spoiler: Lucy]] stand out even more.
* EyeAmWatchingYou: A verbal version. Virtual Lucy gives Lincoln this warning before vanishing from the game. [[spoiler: Cristina laters pulls the gesture version at Lucy when she appears outside the window]].
** [[spoiler: Chapter 6]] Starts off with the sisters doing this. And later, everyone is doing this.
* EyeScream: Lori stabs one of [[spoiler: Cristina]]'s eyes during their fight. And unlike the rest of the fight, wherein she abused her HealingFactor, Cristina never really regenerates the eye.
* [[spoiler: EverybodyLives]]: While some come out of the whole ordeal with more than a few scars, ultimately everybody [[spoiler: get to live happily ever after]].
* EvilIsPetty: [[spoiler: Cristina]]'s main reason for breaking the Loud sisters involves [[spoiler: her finding rule 34 of them and Lincoln]]. Even worse, after [[spoiler: Ronnie Anne]] betrays her, she grows even more petty and basically tortures her, all for not going with her plan.
* EvilOldFolks: Agape, A.K.A. [[spoiler: Lord Tetherby]].
* EvilTowerOfOminousness: [[spoiler: Cristina]]'s base of operations, as revealed in chapter 39.
* FailureIsTheOnlyOption: Implied by Ronnie and Clyde's conversation in chapter 20. Apparently, whatever [[spoiler: Cristina]]'s plan is, it's bound to fail, but they're forced to try to accomplish it regardless.
* FairWeatherFriend: [[spoiler: Cristina]], to Ronnie Anne. [[spoiler: Until chaper 33, that is]].
* FateWorseThanDeath: As revealed in chapter 42, being sent to [[spoiler: Cristina]]'s entails [[spoiler: being rendered into a vegetative state and then planted on the ground, amidst other horrifying imagery]].
* FauxHorrific: In chapter 5, Lucy remarks that she thinks Lana wearing a dress is the most horrifying image she's had that day.
* FightingYourFriend: Fighting your ''girl''friend in this case. After being mind-controlled by Cristina, Leni has to fight [[spoiler: Lori]], alongside [[spoiler: a group of Cristina clones that look like her sisters]].
** It's downplayed in that the two aren't friends anymore by that point, but [[spoiler: Ronnie Anne]] and [[spoiler: Cristina]] certainly have this vibe during their fight [[spoiler: as ghouls]].
* FindTheCure: What Lisa plans to do towards the end.
* FourIsDeath: Of the Four Lovers, Agape ([[spoiler: Tetherby]]), the fourth Lover, winds up [[spoiler: as a vegetable in Cristina's garden]]. Though it is averted with Ronnie Anne, the 4th [[spoiler: ghoul]], since she comes out fine out of the whole ordeal.
* TheFourLoves: The Four Lovers, [[spoiler: Cristina]]'s subordinates, are based on this concept. They are Storge ([[spoiler: Carol Pingrey]]), Phillia ([[spoiler: Ronnie Anne]]) and Eros and Agape, whose identities remain unknown.
* ForceFeeding: What Lucy does to Lincoln at some point in the resort arc.
* ForcefulKiss: Lynn does this to Lincoln in order to lure Lucy out of hiding, much to Lincoln's shock.
* FeminineWomenCanCook: Leni cooks cinnamon rolls for Lincoln in chapter 40.
* FreakyFridayFlip: What the helmets can potentially do given custom character creation.
* FreudianExcuse: Apparently, the reason [[spoiler: Cristina]] did everything has something to do with [[spoiler: researching rule 34]].
* FriendshipTrinket: The second step in [[spoiler: Cristina]]'s plan involves the Louds using some friendship bracelets she made, which not only do the same thing as the helmets, [[spoiler: but leaves them all at the mercy of whoever has the master bracelet]].
* GardenOfEvil: [[spoiler: Cristina]]'s garden, as revealed in chapter 42, though it's not so much a garden as it is [[spoiler: a graveyard filled with lobotomized people]].
* GenreSavvy: While searching for Lucy, Lynn guesses that she's simply around and neither she nor Lincoln have seen her, since that's a common RunningGag in the show. [[AvertedTrope This later turns out to be incorrect]].
* GenreShift: The fic goes from being a lighthearted, if questionable, deconstruction of the typical incest harem plot to a dark, dramatic mystery surrounding why is [[spoiler: Cristina]] doing all of this, and what she's trying to accomplish.
** And then, by the time the grand finale comes up, the fic goes all-out Anime with [[spoiler: Cristina, Ronnie, Lori and Leni]] turning into [[spoiler: ghouls]], becoming superhuman abominations of nature with superpowers, and with the ridiculousness factor turning rather high.
** Don't forget the one beach episode... [[spoiler: That ends with Lynn molesting Lana]].
* TheGhost: Agape, one of The Four Lovers mentioned above. Storge/[[spoiler:Carol]] and Phillia/[[spoiler:Ronnie]] have been seen as both Lovers and normal people, and Eros has appeared in his Lover persona, but Agape's nowhere to be seen. [[spoiler: This changes in chapter 33]].
* GiftGivingGaffe: [[spoiler:Cristina]] does one in chapter 20. Beyond [[spoiler: unlocking the Lincoln route in the VR game]], the gifts are either harmless (tickets to a Blarney Ranger show) or downright trollish (A Jack-in-the-Box-like gift with a demonic Lynn head for Lana, who just had a bad time with Lynn back at the resort).
* TheGloriousWarOfSisterlyRivalry: One-sided version with Lucy and Lynn. The latter would like nothing more than to gain the former's heart, but the former not only has only eyes for Lincoln, but she's incredibly violent to the point of beating Lynn up.
* GoMadFromTheRevelation: [[spoiler: Cristina]] seemingly became either crazy or at the very least disturbed after [[spoiler: researching shipping and rule 34]].
* GotMeDoingIt: Luan starts talking in a bad British accent to help Luna through the aftermath of chapter 8.
* GrandFinale: The final battle itself lasts up until chapter 49, and the fic itself has it's grand finale in chapter 51, titled... "[[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin Grand Finale]]"
* GroinAttack: [[spoiler: Cristina]] has a ''really'' bad of pulling these off against people. She's kicked Lincoln, Ronnie Anne, [[spoiler: apparently Lola]]... Really, it would be easier to just say she does this often.
** She then winds up on the receiving end of this when she [[spoiler: rapes Lincoln]], since despite hurting him as well, [[spoiler: it's her body that's being penetrated the most]].
** She winds up on the receiving side ''again'' in what is quite possibly the most '''brutal''' example when, while Lincoln and Ronnie walk around the aftermath of the crash, spot [[spoiler: Cristina]] with sharp stalacmites piercing her chest, head, and ''crotch''. And she was still alive, too!
** She even ends up being on the receiving end of this before she starts creating her plans. After she finds out that Ronnie and Lincoln are dating, [[spoiler: Cristina]] goes up to some shippers, and suggests that they should ship Ronnie and Lincoln together instead of [[spoiler: Cristincoln.]] This causes the shippers to snap and eventually starts punching and kicking her in the crotch before Ronnie intervenes.
* HardLight: [[spoiler: This is what Storge used to get her shapeshifting ability, and what the Loud sisters use to help Lincoln fight against the redheaded ghoul]].
* HarmlessElectrocution: Downplayed. Lori gets shocked by [[spoiler: the helmet's chip]], but she doesn't seem to suffer any long-term damage.
** Definitely averted by [[spoiler: Cristina]], who is quite clearly in pain from being electrocuted to [[spoiler: prevent her organs from staying too long in an erratic beat]].
* HatedByAll: As Lisa reveals, [[spoiler: it's possible to reach a negative progress bar in the sim date game itself]], which signifies how much [[spoiler: the virtual girls hate you]].
* HeelFaceTurn: She wasn't evil or even antagonistic beforehand, but Ronnie fully switches to the side of good after [[spoiler: she betrays Cristina and goes off the script during her and Lincoln's "date"]], which sets off a chain of events that completely derails [[spoiler: Cristina]]'s plan.
* HeroicSacrifice: While he doesn't die from it, [[spoiler: Lincoln takes a stabbing meant for Ronnie Anne during chapter 33]], and it winds up being bad enough to get him hospitalized.
* HiddenAgendaVillain: Assuming [[spoiler: Cristina]]'s a villain, she firmly falls into this. The story is 27 chapters in, and nothing was known about her plan for basically '''20''' ''chapters''.
* HumanoidAbomination: The [[spoiler: ghouls]], 'nuff said. [[spoiler: Leni]] can morph her arms into weapons or defensive equipment, [[spoiler: Lori]] can sprout wings and throw explosive dagger-like feathers, and [[spoiler: Cristina]] not only has a healing factor that can negate most injuries, but also battle tentacles that can regenerate, fuse into a bigger tentacle and recover just as fast as she herself. [[spoiler: Ronnie Anne]], is relatively normal, since the only weird feature she has is her tail [[spoiler: which can negate Cristina's healing factor]].
* HypocriticalHumor: After hearing the news about what [[spoiler: Lynn tried to do with Lana]], Lucy feels disgusted about the fact that the former tried to treat the latter as an object, even though she tries to put a dog collar on Lincoln the exact moment she voices her disapproval. The collar even has the words, "Lucy Loud's property," engraved on it!
* ICanChangeMyBeloved: Lana's reasoning for spending time with Lynn. [[spoiler: It doesn't end well.]]
* IdiotBall: Discussed:
--> Lori: (After being told [[spoiler: Cristina installed new chips on the helmets]]) Wait a minute, [[spoiler: those chips were inside the helmets all this time]]?
--> Lisa: Pretty much.
--> Lori: (smacks Lisa) And you [[spoiler: made copies of those things as well]] without batting an eye?!
* IGaveMyWord: As revealed in chapter 20, [[spoiler: Ronnie Anne promised Cristina that she would help her get revenge and make her plan succeed]]. Let's just say, [[MyGreatestFailure she's not very proud of that decision]].
* INeedADrink: In the epilogue, Ronnie Anne finds Mrs. Johnson in a tavern, getting a drink.
* ImADoctorNotAPlaceholder: Lisa says something like this in chapter 3, telling Luan she's "a genius, not a game designer" after she asks why weren't Lincoln, Clyde, Bobby and Ronnie-Anne included in the game.
* ImprobableAge: Like in canon, Lisa Loud. She manages to create a machine capable of analyzing things (though it is slow for a good deal of the time), create multiple copies of the helmets and game, and also ''survive'' against a potentially empowered [[spoiler: Cristina]], all at the age of four.
** Assuming [[spoiler: Carol]] is the same age as Lori, her work as a nurse puts her as this.
** [[spoiler: Cristina]] might be the most ridiculous example in the whole story. Owner of large amounts of technology? Maker of incredibly complex plans? Expert torturer who knows what to do to bring the pain to her victims? These are all her credentials, and she's barely [[spoiler: Lincoln]]'s age!
* IncompatibleOrientation: Most of the sisters turn gay because of [[spoiler: the chips in the helmets]], but Lucy winds up having a crush on Lincoln, while Lynn winds up crushing on Lucy.
* IncestYayShipping: [[spoiler: Luna and Luan in the end. It's implied that the consumate the relationship after the epilogue.]]
* InTheEndYouAreOnYourOwn: While the sisters do participate here and there (either suffering or dealing some damage), in the end, Lincoln and Ronnie Anne are basically the only ones left undamaged enough to stand up to [[spoiler: Cristina]] after she basically tortured everybody out of commission.
* IronicHell: During the friendship bracele fiasco, Lincoln's bracelet makes him the center of attraction from his sisters. Because not only are they his sisters, but he's still feeling guilty over causing the whole thing, Lincoln isn't particularly thrilled about the experience.
* IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy: Lori [[spoiler: refrains from revealing the chips and their effects]] to her siblings in order to let them have a happy moment after reaching a compromise with their parents. {{Deconstructed}} since this winds up being a horrible mistake down the line.
* JerkassRealization: Quite a few in chapter 50.
** Lori tells Lincoln the sisters realized his ButtMonkey status, and how the sisters have avoided punishment despite being just as often in the wrong as he is.
** Lisa realized how she hadn't done what she should've been doing, and so decided to fix that by [[spoiler: making a machine to fix her siblings after everything's said and done]].
* JustFriends: What Ronnie claims she and Lincoln are.
* KidsAreCruel: Lincoln's "[[WithFriendsLikeThese friends]]" not only laugh and mock Lincoln as [[spoiler: Ronnie Anne is forced to beat him up]], but they then try to get Clyde to be beaten up as well. They do get their desserts, but...
** [[spoiler: Cristina]] herself is such a big example of this trope, it's not even funny.
* KubrickStare: Implied to be what Lori gives Lola in chapter 9, lampshading just how far Leni and Lori go when they change
* LaserBlade: [[spoiler: One of Cristina's clones]] uses this against Ronnie Anne, Lincoln and Lisa during chapter 42.
* LaserGuidedKarma: [[spoiler: Cristina]] primarily focused on [[spoiler: breaking the Loud sisters]] in order to "save Lincoln", in her own words. Later, during the final battle, [[spoiler: the sisters come to his aid and help beat the stuff out of her]].
** Also, she's entirely responsible for putting Lincoln and [[spoiler: Ronnie Anne]] through so much pain, either directly or indirectly. [[spoiler: It's the combined efforts of these two that she's finally defeated]].
* LastSecondChance: Lincoln gives one to Cristina before their final battle in chapter 49. Given what Cristina has done up to this point, it's rather clear it's not gonna work anytime soon. The redhead even lampshades it:
---> Cristina: Come on, really?
* LastStand: The whole final battle against Cristina feels like a villainous example of this trope; Cristina knows she's all alone, the Louds have caught up to her, and there's no way she's running away this time. So, she might as well go out with a bang and [[TakingYouWithMe take the Louds with her]].
* LookBehindYou: Cristina does this in an attempt to get Lincoln distracted after he finds her with the VR helmet.
** Lori also pulls this tactic on Virtual Leni during their date.
* LoveTriangle: Lynn X Lucy X Lincoln. To be more specific, Lynn loves Lucy, Lucy loves Lincoln, Lincoln only loves the two as sisters, and Lynn and Lucy are simply acquaintaces, no matter how hard Lynn tries to change that.
* MaskOfSanity: Don't let [[spoiler: Cristina]]'s outlook fool you, she's very much ''not'' sane in the slightest.
* MassivelyNumberedSiblings: Referenced in chapter 6:
--> Ronnie: Oh, you're one of Lame-O's million sisters, right? Or were you 10? Your family's so numerous, it's pretty easy to lose count.
* TheMaze: Luna and Luan go through this on their gauntlet at [[spoiler: Cristina]]'s castle.
* MetaphoricallyTrue: Once she's back at her room, among the things Lynn sees while figuring out why she's feeling weird regarding Lucy, she wonders if the game is the problem. As later chapters prove, [[spoiler: she's half right]].
** Also in chapter 7, Lynn claims this after Lincoln tells her a classmate of his saw her trying to follow Lucy while wearing her kneesocks and arm sleeves.
* MisplacedRetribution: Later chapters puts [[spoiler: Cristina's attempt to break the Loud sisters]] firmly into this, since instead of [[spoiler: attacking the makers of the rule 34 she saw]], she insteads attacks the sisters, [[spoiler: who are just as much victims of the work as Lincoln is]]. [[JustifiedTrope Justified]], because [[spoiler: the authors of the rule 34]] are both out of her reach and anonymous, so finding them would be far more difficult. Besides, given how the sisters can be [[UngratefulBastard ungrateful siblings]] and big pains in the butt to Lincoln, among other things, they probably still deserve punishment in her eyes.
* MomentKiller: [[spoiler: Lori and Bobby run in right before Lincoln and Ronnie Anne can have consensual sex.]]
* MookFaceTurn: As of the current chapters, [[spoiler: Bobby]], [[spoiler: Carol]] and [[spoiler: Ronnie Anne]], 3/4 of The Four Lovers, have either suffered through a HeelFaceTurn or otherwise left [[spoiler: Cristina]]'s side for whatever reason. [[spoiler: Tetherby]], however, isn't so lucky....
* MortonsFork: Lori is caught in a situation like in chapter 6: Either she [[spoiler: reveals the chips and their effects]] to her siblings, who just came out of a tense experience, or she doesn't tell them, and lets the [[spoiler: effects]] change them. Three guesses as to which she picked, and the first two don't count.
* [[MrExposition Mrs Exposition]]: Lisa, 'nuff said.
* MotiveDecay: [[spoiler: Cristina]]'s original plan dealt with [[spoiler: breaking the Loud sisters and getting Lincoln and Ronnie Anne together]]. Once that fails and her sanity [[SanitySlippage begins falling apart]], however, it becomes incresingly difficult to discern what her current goal is, [[IndyPloy if she even has any]].
* MurderTheHypotenuse: Lynn ponders about this for a moment after her fight with Lucy, but [[DefiedTrope she quickly ditches the idea]] when she realizes Lincoln doesn't deserve that.
* MustHaveLotsofFreeTime: The only possible explanation for why Lisa would actually bother to make body pillows of Lucy, Lynn, Lincoln and Ronnie Anne.
* MyGreatestFailure: Ronnie Anne has two: [[spoiler: [[IGaveMyWord Promising to help Cristina]] and failing to stop Lincoln from getting hurt, as he gets stabbed by Lisa in an attack meant for her]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder: N-S]]
* NeverSayDie: Averted, as the terms like "death" and "dying" are not only very much taken into account, but ''possible'' during the final battle. [[spoiler: Even if EverybodyLives by the end]].
* NeverShallTheSelvesMeet: Somewhat averted. When Leni meets her virtual self, the game doesn't glitch out or anything, but they instead talk without any negative side-effects
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: The entire plot happens because Lincoln was stupid enough to bring a weird VR game home without asking anything about it first.
** Happens in chapter 49: [[spoiler: When the HardLight versions of the sisters appear and end up helping Cristina get her powers back.]]
* NiceJobFixingItVillain: [[spoiler: Chapter 49, Cristina pushed everyone over the edge in the end, resulting in her, Lincoln and Ronnie possibly falling to their doom.]]
* NoodleIncident: Lincoln somehow got into a mud fight with Virtual Lana.
* NotADate: Luna tries to pass this off to the other neighbors as she and Luan go to their date, since them being discovered as a lesbian couple would bring them unwanted attention.
* NotNowKiddo: Lucy tries to tell her siblings about [[spoiler: Cristina appearing at their window]], but she's quickly shut up by Lori, who wants to create her character.
* NoSell: Leni is apparently so stupid, [[spoiler: the chip's brainwashing effect]] does absolutely nothing to her.
* NotQuiteBackToNormal: [[spoiler: The ending has Lori getting back together with Bobby, Leni getting together with Carol, Luna and Luan pairing up, Lynn and Lucy breaking up, Lola and Lana staying close sisters, Lisa deciding to stay close to Lincoln, Lily isn't mentioned, Lincoln and Ronnie Anne decide to pair up, and Lori, Leni, Ronnie Anne and Cristina are still ghouls.]]
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: Most of the sisters, but definitely Lucy, who goes from a quiet and self-reserved emo to a clingy, violent {{Yandere}} for Lincoln [[spoiler: thanks to her helmet's chip]].
** During the lead up and beach sagas, the tables are quiet, prompting the parents to become concerned and find out.
** Lori also changes from her bossy self to a nervous one when [[spoiler: she breaks up with Bobby to date Leni]] and [[spoiler: she almost reveals the truth to Luna and Luan]].
** After coming home from the hospital, Lincoln notices how unusually his sisters are behaving.
* ObliviousToLove: Lynn's clearly starting to feel love towards Lucy after her virtual date, but she's highly confused by the new feeling.
* OffscreenTeleportation: Outside of Lucy, [[spoiler: Cristina]] shows this in chapter 6 when Lincoln finds her selling a VR helmet to Clyde.
* OlderHeroVSYoungerVillain: Zigzags all over the place, taking into account that through the course of the story, Cristina makes more than a couple enemies. It's played straight concerning Lori, Leni, Luna, Luan and Lynn, and to an extent [[spoiler: Ronnie Anne]], not really applicable in Lincoln's case since they're about the same, and inverted in the case of Lucy, Lana, Lola and Lisa. Lily isn't taken into account since they never even interact with each other.
* OneSteveLimit: Inverted by the Park Ranger, who argues with Lisa that there are many girls with the name Cristina, when she starts looking for the redhead at the park.
* OnlyOneName: Cristina is like this for most of the story. And because she doesn't know her surname either, Lisa can't justify her search across the park to the park ranger, and is promptly kicked out.
* OperationBlank: [[spoiler: Cristina's plan is known as Operation: Heartbreaker]].
* OurGhoulsAreDifferent: They are created using a serum, and seem to be based on ''Manga/TokyoGhoul'':
** [[spoiler:Leni]], the first ghoul, can morph her arms into weapons or defensive equipment. She also feels no pain, though it's implied that [[spoiler:Cristina did that]].
** [[spoiler:Lori]], the second ghoul, has wings and can shoot sharp feathers. Which explode.
** [[spoiler:Cristina]], the third ghoul, has four tentacles coming from her back that can let her shoot electricity, morph into things to protect her, and be remade from scratch should they be destroyed. This isn't including the ensuing healing factor she gets [[spoiler:which can be nullified with Ronnie's tail]].
** [[spoiler:Ronnie Anne]], the fourth and seemingly final ghoul, barely seems to suffer any changes besides gaining a tail [[spoiler:that lets her override Cristina's healing factor]].
** It can also be inferred that they can get stronger through cannibalism, since [[spoiler:once Cristina cannibalizes Leni, she gains her powers]].
* OwMyBodyPart: Lisa yells "Ouch, my hand!" after slamming it on the table. [[spoiler: It actually got injured.]]
* ParentalAbandonment: [[spoiler: After the resort arc, Rita and Lynn Sr. disappear.]]
* PolarOppositeTwins[=/=]OppositesAttract: Shown with the pairings:
** Lana and Lola: While Lana is more laid back towards their relationship, Lola is much more protective. Exaggerated after the "Lynn" incident.
** Luan and Luna: Luna is the more protective end, Luan is the more calm end.
** Lori and Leni: Lori, oddly enough, is subservient to Leni, who promptly takes charge.
** Later: [[spoiler: Lynn and Lucy]] Though their relationship is strained.
* PoorCommunicationKills: Nobody dies because of it, but when Lucy suggests Lincoln to play her route, he winds up ignoring her since he's too focused on making his character again.
* {{Portmanteau}}: Lincoln gives Virtual Lucy the nickname of "Virtucy" ('''Virt'''ual L'''ucy''') after their first meeting. She's also the only virtual counterpart to get such a nickname.
* PowerGivesYouWings: When she turns into [[spoiler: a ghoul]], [[spoiler: Lori]] gains a pair of these.
* PowerMakesYourHairGrow: Alongside becoming a freak of nature, [[spoiler: Cristina]]'s hair slightly grows in length.
* PunctuatedForEmphasis: In chapter 6, when Mrs. Loud asks the girls what's bothering them.
--> Mrs. Loud: Now tell me: What. Is. It?
* PyrrhicVictory: Cristina has one in chapter 4. Lisa failed to catch her, but she still has detention.
** She gets another one in chapter 6: She [[spoiler: manages to install the new chips]] but Lisa is nearby to analyze them anyway.
* TheQuietOne: Cristina, as in canon. [[spoiler: Until Chapter 21, that is]].
* QueerRomance: Most of the pairings could qualify honestly, but Luna and Luan's romance is the best example, since they're given the most romantic focus.
* RapidFireNailBiting: Lynn starts doing this when her and Lincoln's search for Lucy starts to show no progress.
* RedemptionRejection: When Lincoln offers Cristina one last shot at redemption in chapter 49, she quickly shoots it down. Seeing what she had done up to that point, however, it's quite baffling Lincoln even thought that was an option.
* RelationshipUpgrade: From siblings to lovers, [[spoiler: just add mind control helmets]]!
** Later, [[spoiler: after Cristina upgrades the helmets, she in a way, ''literally'' upgrades the relationship]].
* ReplacementGoldfish: Lynn uses a body pillow of [[spoiler: Lucy]] because the real one doesn't want to spend any time with her. [[spoiler: She then tries to do the same with Lana]].
* RhymesOnADime:
--> ''Virtual Lucy'': Sticks and stones may break your bones, but first they must be thrown. Words and Actions may break your hearts, but first they must be done.
* RomanceArc: All the pairings have this to an extent, but Luna and Luan's the most developed. They go from merely feeling weird towards each other, to giving dating a shot, to becoming friendly, and they even reach their first kiss during the Aloha Beach Resort Arc.
** For Lori and Leni, though, things aren't as cheery; they start neutral, then as things progress, Leni grows more agressive and Lori essentially becomes her servant.
** For Lynn and Lucy, after the love triangle fiasco, they don't really develop beyond that.
** For Lola and Lana, beyond their confused feelings, they're the second least developed after Lynn and Lucy.
* [[spoiler: Rule34]]: This is what [[spoiler: Cristina]] researched, and what drove her partially crazy.
* SanitySlippage: [[spoiler: Cristina]]'s mental state is not having a good time through this fic. She basically goes from normal, to troubled, to bonkers but capable of looking sane, to getting trouble with keeping her facade, to being utterly nuts.
* SelfDeprecation: After Lynn [[ItMakesSenseInContext is given a pair of Lucy's arm sleeves and kneesocks because she put them on to see how they felt]], she thinks to herself that there's something wrong with her.
* SelfDuplication: Seeing as [[spoiler: most of the Cristinas]] fought in chapter 42 are just clones of the original, it's safe to say that [[spoiler: Cristina]] can do this. [[spoiler: But she requires a special helmet to do this, so when Leni breaks it, the clones vanish from existence.]]
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: When the siblings are choosing who to sleep with, [[spoiler: Lynn chooses Lucy, Lucy chooses Lincoln and Lincoln chooses to sleep on the couch]].
* ShapedLikeItself: PlayedForLaughs in during the 5 chapter long final battle, wherein Clyde claims Cristina, who just turned into a superpowered [[spoiler: ghoul]], has turned into "Cristina".
* ShipperOnDeck: During chapter 7, [[spoiler: Cristina]] smiles in approval after ordering Luna and Luan a drink. ''Why'' she did it, or if she even genuinely likes the couple, is a complete mystery.
** If the hints provided in chapter 20 are to be taken seriously, then she might also hold some appreciation for Lincoln X Ronnie.
* ShipTease: [[spoiler: Lisa and Lincoln, Luna and Luan, Lori and Leni, Lana and Lola]].
* ShoutOut: The Blarney Rangers are a cross between Blarney the dinosaur and power rangers.
* ShowWithinAShow: On occasion, the Loud's and Cristina will tune in to watch "The Blarney Rangers", which seems to be a more action-packed spin-off of "Blarney the Dinosaur". Strangely enough, the scenes that happen in the show [[PlotParallel almost always keeps on accurately correlating with the Loud's situation,]] which is probably why Cristina of all characters likes it so much.
* SkewedPriorities: Lisa seems to honestly believe that [[ItMakesSenseInContext letting her and Cristina potentially break more school rules]] was a better option than kicking Lisa out and sending Cristina to detention. Then again, she was angry at the prior event, she was probably not thinking straight.
* SliceOfLife: Mostly confined to the earlier chapters, but taking out the whole [[spoiler: mind-controlling]] helmet business, the fic is about the Louds trying to deal with romantic issues, without any fantastic problems [[spoiler: at first]].
* SleepCute: Lisa sleeping with Lincoln. You just wanna go "aww" at the sight.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: [[spoiler: Tetherby]] only appears in chapter 33, [[spoiler: and winds up becoming a vegetable for his troubles]], but his betrayal is the first big step for [[spoiler: Cristina]]'s ultimate downfall.
* TheSpeechless: Just like in canon, Cristina hasn't said a single sentence in the entire fic so far. [[spoiler: Up until chapter 22, that is]].
* StatusQuoIsGod: [[AvertedTrope Not in this case]]. Yes, everybody manages to come out of this unscathed and things slowly start to get back to normal, but there are many things (like [[spoiler: Leni getting into a relationship with Carol]] or [[spoiler: Luna and Luan becoming a couple]] for a couple examples) that make it obvious that NothingIsTheSameAnymore.
* TheStoolPigeon: Not Lola, at least for a moment, but Lynn immediately tries to tell everybody about the game after her first few seconds playing it.
* StormingTheCastle: The Louds do this at the end of chapter 39 and beginning of chapter 40 to [[spoiler: Cristina]]'s tower.
* SpitTake: An exaggerated version; After Luna asks Luan out on a date, not only does Luan spit out her drink, but her flowers shoot out water as well.
** Luna promptly does one when Luan asks, out loud, if they should have their date at the Star Cafe, in public.
* SpoiledBrat: What Lana calls Lola's virtual counterpart, and by extension Lola herself.
* StarCrossedLovers: Almost everybody, due to the nature of the ships [[spoiler: and possibly Cristina’s plan]].
* StatingTheSimpleSolution: When Lisa calls Lincoln in order to get help in her search for Cristina, he asks if she checked the school, after she told him she looked everywhere. [[StunnedSilence The following silence speaks for itself]].
** During the resort arc, Lana tells Lynn to just fall in love with someone else when it becomes clear Lucy won't fall in love with her. Let's just say it doesn't work as intended.
* StealthPun: In chapter 5, Luna tells Luan, the only Loud with braces, to brace herself for her idea. She promptly return with a pun of her own.
** Also, this little exchange in chapter 7:
--> ''Luan'': Good morning, Lunatic!
--> ''Luna'': Lunatic? ({{Beat}}) Oh, ''Luna''tic! Ohohoho, you sneaky little Punnywag!
* SuperSerum: The [[spoiler: ghoul serum]], which when injected [[spoiler: turns the user into a ghoul-like creature]]. Although it also functions as a PsychoSerum in [[spoiler: Cristina]]'s sake.
* ShoutOut: In Chapter 9, Lana and Lola introduce themselves with, [[Anime/PokemonTheSeries "Get ready for trouble, we'll make it double!"]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder: T-Z]]
* TakeOurWordForIt: Lucy takes Lincoln's word when he says Lana looks good in a dress.
* TakingYouWithMe: Cristina attempts to do this with all of the Louds once the final battle begins. However, most of the sisters are gone by the time it happens, and the only ones left are her, Ronnie and Lincoln. [[spoiler: And, what a surprise, she fails]].
* TearsOfBlood: Lori sheds these after learning "[[spoiler:the truth]]".
* TitleDrop: The note Lincoln reads in the beginning reads “For [[WesternAnimation/TheLoudHouse The Loud House]]".
* {{Touche}}: When Virtual Lucy lists the traits of Virtual Lynn, the actual Lynn can't help but agree with her.
* TookALevelInBadass: Many in the final battle. To Recap:
** [[spoiler: Ronnie Anne, Lori and Leni take the ghoul serum and become uber-tier powerful]].
** [[spoiler: Lana, Lola and Lynn try to fight, and fail]].
** [[spoiler: Lincoln up and stabs Cristina]].
* TookALevelInJerkass: [[spoiler: Leni]] gradually suffers through this, going from a sweetheart to a jerkass.
** [[spoiler: Cristina]] suffered this before the story even happened, going from a neutral kid to a sociopathic sadist bent on breaking the Louds.
* TranquilFury: Mrs. Loud's state after discovering [[spoiler: Lincoln's VR game]] is the reason his sisters have been acting weird.
* {{Troll}}: [[spoiler:Cristina]]'s gifts are all either normal (Lola gets a pair of tickets to the Blarney Rangers show at Dairyland) or somewhat important (Leni gets [[spoiler: the revelation that Lori is the new Storge]])... Except for Lana's, which is a Jack-in-a-Box with a demonic Lynn mask replacing the jack, Luan's, which is a guitar, at a point in the story where she's supposed to be afraid of them, and Luna's, which is basically a letter asking if she can date her, since she's apparently ditched Luan.
** She also wrote "Ronnie X Lincoln, OTP" and "Cristina X Clyde, Sure, why not?" on one of Lisa's papers.
* UnspokenPlanGuarantee: [[spoiler: Cristina]]'s endgame plan. At the time of this writing, the story is 27 chapters, and for about ''20'' of them, absolutely '''nothing''' was known about it. Even with the hints we've gotten, nothing concrete can be put together just yet. [[spoiler: It's no surprise, then, that once we manage to gather what is going on, the plans start to fall apart]].
* TheUnreveal: In chapter 6, [[spoiler: Cristina comes to the Loud house once it's seemingly empty to install new chips on the helmets, titled "B.M:I.R", "B.M: O.P.L" and "B.M: L.I.R"]]. What the acronyms mean is never answered.
** Also, Lucy's poem. Lincoln gets it in chapter 6, reads it in chapter 7, and then it disappears without ever having it's content revealed.
* UsedToBeASweetChild: That's probably a bit of a stretch, but [[spoiler: Cristina]] was still mentally stable-probably-before she did her research.
* UnwantedHarem: As said above, this is [[AvertedTrope averted]]. Until [[spoiler: the friendship bracelets take their effect]], Lincoln is basically left alone by most of his sisters except for Lisa, who needs his help, and Lucy, who is basically coo-coo for him [[spoiler: for a while, at least]].
* VillainousBreakdown: Cristina has two notable ones: When [[spoiler: Ronnie Anne betrays her]] and when [[spoiler: Lincoln seemingly does "nothing" to help her from being electrocuted]].
* TheVoice: One of these pops up as early as the Aloha Beach Resort Arc, and it seems to be a complete wild card on whose side it is on.
* VoluntaryShapeshifting: Storge's "power", [[spoiler: which Lori seemingly inherits later]].
* VersusTitle: Chapter 39 is titled "Lisa Vs Cristina" ([[SpoilerTitle Guess what happens]]), chapter 44 is titled "Leni Vs The World", and the final battle (going from chapter 46 to chapter 49) might as well be called "Cristina Vs The World".
* WalkingSpoiler: The Four Lover's true identities ([[spoiler: Bobby, Carol Pingrey, Ronnie Anne, Tetherby]]) serve as this to an extent character-wise. Story-wise, [[spoiler: Ronnie Anne]] is pretty important, both during and before the story takes place.
** [[spoiler: Leni]] is this, to a lesser extent. While she's not as important to the story as the last ones, she still holds some rather surprising secrets.
** [[spoiler: Mrs. Johnson]] is a lesser example, mostly sterning from [[spoiler: being Cristina's mother]].
** Far above them, however, is [[spoiler: Cristina]]. It wouldn't be hyperbole to say that the instant you discover that she's not only the [[spoiler: main antagonist]], but what she ends up doing through the fic, would wind up spoiling basically ''the entire thing''.
* WeUsedToBeFriends: Ronnie quite clearly laments that [[spoiler: Cristina]] went from being her best friend to someone she simply wished to kill, and the sentiment is reciprocated by [[spoiler: the redhead]].
* WhatTheHellHero: Lori gets called out by both Lisa and Leni when [[spoiler: she refuses to tell her siblings about the chips and their effects]].
--> Lisa: You didn't tell them anything? (Lori gives her reason) And you'd rather have them potentially [[spoiler: alter their own personalities without even knowing about it]]?
--> Leni: (After Lori shows her [[spoiler: one of the chips]]) Why didn't you tell the rest when you had the chance?
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: [[spoiler: The Bracelets don't get mentioned for several chapters, before reappearing in the climax in chapter 48.]]
* [[WhamEpisode Wham Chapter]]: Quite a few, actually:
** Chapter 5 (Slight Changes): The sisters start exhibiting strange behavior.
** Chapter 6 (Discovered): The parents discover the VR game and give their kids a compromise.
** Chapter 7 (Literally What!): [[spoiler: Lori breaks up with Bobby in order to date Leni]].
** Chapter 8 (Revelations): [[TheReveal It's right there in the title]]. [[spoiler: Ronnie and Cristina are apparently working together, the Louds discover why they're acting weird, and Lori gets an invitation to an Aloha Beach Resort from Bobby]].
** Chapter 9 (Beach Town Woes): [[spoiler: Operation: Heartbreaker begins]].
** Chapter 11 (Sand Castles and Mud Sisters): [[spoiler: Lynn molests Lana]].
** Chapter 14 (Storge): [[spoiler: Lori becomes the new Storge]].
** Chapter 18 (Heartbreak): [[spoiler: Remember the negative relationship bar Lisa mentioned? They come in play as everybody gets heartbroken to turn back to normal]].
** Chapter 21 (Opening Gifts): [[spoiler: Lincoln kisses Cristina]].
** Chapter 29 (A Dark Reminder): [[spoiler: Not only does Leni beat up Lisa, but Ronnie is forced to brutally beat up Lincoln]].
** '''Chapter 33''' (Linconnie): [[spoiler: Cristina watches as her current plan, that is getting Lincoln and Ronnie to be together, completely falls apart when Agape-that is Tetherby-gets Lincoln stabbed by Lisa and, before that, have Ronnie basically betray her and flip her the middle finger. This completely destroys whatever sanity Cristina has, and she winds up electrocuting herself after attacking her laptop, and Ronnie seemingly reveals Cristina's endgame plan to Lincoln]].
** Chapter 34: [[spoiler: Cristina is not only sharing a room with Lincoln, but she reveals why she's doing everything]].
* WhamLine: In chapter 20, [[spoiler: when Cristina finally speaks]]:
--> [[spoiler: Cristina]]: Clyde, this is [[spoiler: Cristina]].
** And earlier, at chapter 10:
--> [[spoiler: Lucy to Lisa]]: “You used it once.”
** And even earlier, in chapter 9:
--> [[spoiler: Ronnie Anne]]: “[[spoiler: Operation: Heartbreaker has begun. Repeat, Operation: Heartbreaker... Has begun.]]”
** Then, in chapter 18:
--> [[spoiler: Cristina]]: “[[spoiler: Operation: Heartbreaker]] was a success.”
* WhamShot: In chapter 8, where [[spoiler: The lovers are introduced and are called in position. Not to mention the "Operation: Heartbreaker" begins]].
** After being heartbroken, [[spoiler: Leni's virtual heart ''rots away'']].
** And in chapter 7, where [[spoiler: Cristina appears at the Star Cafe, and is watching Luna and Luan]].
* WhatExactlyIsHisJob: The four lovers.
** Lampshaded by Leni in chapter 40
* WhyCantIHateYou: [[spoiler: The twins]] when they reveal their love for each other.
* WingedHumanoid: [[spoiler: Lori]] post-[[spoiler: ghoulification]].
* WildCard: [[spoiler: Leni]], who is neither aligned with [[spoiler: Cristina]] and her croonies nor does she seem to be completely on her family's side. She seems to be basically doing whatever she wants.
** Also, the voice, who is just as likely to help the Louds as it is to make their situation worse.
* WithFriendsLikeThese: Lincoln's "friends" mock him while he's being beaten up, then try to get Clyde beaten up as well.
** [[spoiler: Cristina]], to almost insane degrees, that you get to wonder why Ronnie even bothers to put up with her crap. [[spoiler: She wises up in chapter 33]].
* {{Yandere}}: Lucy becomes this after [[spoiler: the helmet's chip]] starts taking effect on her, with Lincoln as her primary-and ''only''-object of affection.
** Lola acts a bit like this before [[spoiler: Ronnie kidnaps her and she's exposed to "the truth" by Cristina]].
* YellowLightningBlueLightning: Lucy's [[spoiler: chip]] releases blue electricity, but the majority of other electricity from either [[spoiler: chips]] seem to be pink in color.
* YellowSashOfPower: Lola and Lana go mad with power in chapter 4 and end up stopping Lisa and Cristina's chase.
