''[[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12011087/1/Remnant Remnant]]'' is a crossover between ''WebAnimation/{{RWBY}}'' and ''Literature/TheDresdenFiles'' by Rapidfyrez that takes a stab, as many others do, at writing [[FixFic a more satisfying conclusion]] to the tale of Pyrrha Nikos.

The story opens with Pyrrha waking up in a dark Chicago alleyway, naked, cold, wounded, and weaponless, with no idea how she got there or how to get home. Worst of all, the grimm have followed her here and Pyrrha quickly finds herself hunted rather than huntress. Fortunately, Pyrrha's luck takes a turn for the better when she encounters local wizard and PrivateDetective Harry Dresden, who takes her under his wing and promises to help get her home. But first they’ll have to work together to unravel Pyrrha’s damaged memories and stop the grimm from washing over Chicago like a tide of black death.

!! ''Remnant'' contains examples of:
* AmnesiacHero: Pyrrha’s memories of most of volume 3 have been stripped from her at the start of the story, but they gradually start coming back in bits and pieces.
* ApocalypseHow: Pyrrha predicts a Class 3 if the Grimm are able to gather sufficient numbers to overrun Chicago. Without hunters and huntresses there’ll be no stopping them.
* ArcWords: “Do you believe in destiny?” makes a reappearance early on, although Harry puts the question to rest pretty quickly: he believes in ''his'' destiny, which is his to shape.
* BigEater: She might not look like it, but Pyrrha has an absolutely immense appetite.
* BigFriendlyDog: Mouse is his usual lovable, oversized self here, as Pyrrha soon found out.
* BrokenAce: Pyrrha is this in spades. When she’s in her element she’s more dangerous than Dresden Murphy and Thomas put together and dishes out {{Curbstomp Battle}}s like free candy. But she’s frequently ''not'' in her element, both because of her emotional hang-ups and because she keeps getting blindsided by the strange tricks that magic and supernatural creatures can play on her.
* BullyingADragon: Torchwick seems to be making a very bad habit of this. Thus far, he's earned the ire of Johnny Marcone (Chicago's biggest crime boss), Pyrrha, and especially Harry and Molly. It should be worth noting that Harry has gone toe to toe with a lot of high-powered mystical baddies and come out on top, even managing to completely wipe out the Red Court vampires and Molly is the Winter Lady, meaning she's a lot more powerful than she was as a mortal. At the rate he's going, Torchwick isn't going to be long for this world.
* CarFu: Harry makes his intro by running over a beowolf with [[TheAllegedCar the Blue Beetle]].
* CharmPerson: At one point Pyrrha gets a face full of [[VampiresAreSexGods Thomas]] with his “come hither” aura revved up. In the initial draft of that chapter she started stripping out of her clothes before she even knew what was happening, but in the edited version she’s merely reduced to EatingTheEyeCandy with a side of PurpleProse before Murphy snaps her out of it. On both occasions she’s mortified by her reaction until Dresden and Murphy explain that it’s a magic thing, not a Pyrrha thing. [[spoiler:It happens again when Torchwick is able to cast a glamour on her, forcing Pyrrha to see Dresden, Murphy, and Thomas, as her enemies.]]
* CurbstompBattle:
** [[spoiler:Pyrrha vs Torchwick is this once Pyrrha gets Miló and Akoúo̱ back.]]
** [[spoiler:Pyrrha vs Team Dresden is also this until Harry figures out a way to dispel the glamour.]]
** [[spoiler:And again during Pyrrha's battle with Mercury and Emerald when she finally stops holding back.]]
* GroinAttack: Thomas is on the receiving end of this when Torchwick hits Pyrrha with a glamour attack. And considering Pyrrha can hit much harder than a normal human thanks to her Aura...yeah, Thomas was not a happy camper after all that.
* {{Homage}}: [[spoiler:Pyrrha vs Team Dresden plays out very similarly to [[WebAnimation/RedVsBlue Tex vs the Reds and Blues]] from ''This One Goes To Eleven'', complete with Thomas [[GroinAttack getting kicked in the balls over and over again]].]]
* HorrifyingTheHorror: [[spoiler: ''Something'' that [[TheFairFolk Lea]] discovered in Pyrrha's memories has sent her into a terrified panic and implies the rest of the Nevernever will react similarly when her discovery breaks.]]
* MundaneUtility: Magnetism is a handy superpower to have when you need to work the dents out of your car.
* NakedOnArrival: Pyrrha wakes up with none of her usual gear and armor, but is lucky enough to find a rain tarp to preserve her modesty.
* NotWhatItLooksLike: Murphy’s first appearance in the story comes when she walks in on Pyrrha and Dresden right after they’ve taken a fall together and wound up in a compromising position. To her credit, Karin is more amused than anything else and gives Harry a chance to explain before drawing any conclusions.
* OfficialCouple: Dresden and Murphy are this and, if Thomas is any indication, Jaune and Pyrrha are as well.
* OhCrap: Dresden has this reaction a lot [[spoiler:especially when Pyrrha is placed under a glamour, and the Beringel attacks him and Thomas.]]
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: During Team Harry's brief trip to the Nevernever Lea almost completely skips on the opportunity to mess with Pyrrha or trick her into a DealWithTheDevil and opts to give her a few gifts with no strings attached instead. [[spoiler:As soon as Harry's group leaves she starts freaking out about ''[[HorrifyingTheHorror something]]'' she saw in Pyrrha's memories.]]
* PapaWolf: Dresden, full stop. Anyone threatens his daughter Maggie (or any kid in general), he will see them dead and in many pieces. Torchwick had better start praying for divine intervention, because that's about the only that will save him from Harry's wrath after holding Maggie hostage.
* PowerIncontinence: Pyrrha’s new mood swings have a distressing tendency to express themselves through violent and uncontrolled manifestations of her semblance.
* ThePowerOfLove: Pyrrha is apparently shielded by an act of true love that renders her off-limits to the advances of White Court vampires. While Thomas’s CharmPerson aura works on her just fine, physical contact badly burns him even when all he’s doing is shaking her hand.
* VirginityMakesYouStupid: Downplayed. Pyrrha isn’t stupid by any means but her innocence in regards to sexual matters leads to her asking what a brothel is at one point when she and Harry are headed to one to meet with [[TheDon John Marcone]]. Dresden only has to get as far as “When a man and a woman enjoy each other’s company...” before she catches on and cuts him off.
