''No Such Luck, No Such Love'' is a ''WesternAnimation/TheLoudHouse'' fanfic written by [[https://www.fanfiction.net/u/8013215/SpartanXHunterX SpartanXHunterX]] which can be read [[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13212737/1/No-Such-Luck-No-Such-Love here]].

It centers around an AlternateTimeline involving the events of the infamous episode "No Such Luck", where the Loud family thought that Lincoln was bad luck... except in this story, the family never believed that he was bad luck in the first place. They knew that Lincoln lied about it so that he could get out of going to his sisters' events, so they banned him from attending activities that he enjoyed, sold his furniture, and locked him outside the house at night [[DisproportionateRetribution just to teach him a lesson about lying]].

When Lincoln is allowed to come back inside the house, he begins to realize that all of the times that he was blamed or was subjected to being a ButtMonkey, it always involved his sisters in some way, which usually results in the girls [[KarmaHoudini getting away with their behavior]] while Lincoln gets [[CantGetAwayWithNuthin thrown under the bus]]. He decides to stay away from his sisters in hopes that nothing bad happens to him by refusing to interact with them at any given moment, which greatly concerns the Loud family. However, Lincoln will eventually have to give his sisters a chance at redeeming themselves. Will the girls realize that they have been treating Lincoln horribly and make things right, or will he come to resent them for good?

----
!!''No Such Luck, No Such Love'' provides examples of:
* AdaptationalIntelligence: Unlike most of the NSL fics, most the Louds here ''knew'' Lincoln lied. However this lead them to...
* AdaptationalJerkass: Excessively punishing Lincoln mostly out of spite.
* AdultsAreUseless:
** Rita and Lynn Sr., who always seem to take the girls' side in any argument or incident where they cause all of the trouble, which leads to Lincoln getting punished for things he had little to no involvement in. The two of them fail to realize that what they're doing is causing Lincoln to avoid his sisters. It gets even worse in Chapter 12 when they sign up Lincoln for dodgeball without his knowledge.
*** In Chapter 17, they both thought that the other one was going to talk to Lincoln about why they had to punish him for lying, which means that ''neither'' of them gave him that talk and that Lincoln believes they were punishing him for being unlucky.
** In Chapter 13, during dodgeball practice, Lincoln gets a dodgeball to the face despite him already being out, causing all the other kids to laugh at him. [[DrillSergeantNasty Coach]] [[SadistTeacher Pacowski]] does nothing about this, nor does he blow the whistle on the kid who threw the ball.
** Finally averted for Rita as of chapter 21, when she realizes what is going on with Lincoln, punishes Lynn Jr. for her part in the bad luck incident, and decides to get her daughters in line, with or without help from her husband.
* AllTakeAndNoGive: While venting to Lori, one of the things Lincoln brings up is how he has to jump through hoops and bribe them with chocolate and doing their chores before they even ''consider'' doing anything for him. Yet when it's the other way around they expect him to do whatever they want without question or benefit to himself.
* AlternateTimeline: Instead of the Louds believing Lincoln when he said that he was bad luck like in the canon version of "No Such Luck", they knew he was lying about it. Also, all the stuff they did in that episode, such as boarding up his room and making him stay outside, was done to punish him for being dishonest.
* ArmorPiercingResponse: In Chapter 16, after Lincoln unloads on Lynn Jr., Lisa insults her sisters in agreement for him doing so. Rita and Lynn Sr. tell her she shouldn't speak to her sisters like that, but Lisa responds by pointing out that they were oddly silent when Lynn Jr. was outright swearing at Lincoln, causing the two of them to go quiet.
* ArmorPiercingQuestion: Chapter 12 has [[spoiler: Ronnie Anne]] ask Lincoln if he still loves his family despite what they did. Lincoln can't give a direct answer.
** Also, while in the library with Lana, she asks Lincoln (who is feeling awkward about their last night and the strain in their relationship) if he hates her. This causes Lincoln to shout out loud and be shushed by the library patrons.
** In Chapter 19, Lincoln asks Lori [[spoiler: why the family didn't confront him and punish him ''normally'' instead of putting him through all that just for lying.]]
* BaitAndSwitch: In Chapter 14, Lana sees Lincoln leaving in the middle of the night due to his mistreatment, which sets up the reader to believe that Lincoln is running away like in the many fanfics such as ''Fanfic/WhatIsAPersonWorth''. It turns out that it was just a nightmare and Lincoln doesn't run away from home.
** In Chapter 24, Luna is at the mall and sees a drawing tablet that she wants to get Lincoln, but it costs the same amount as the tickets for a concert that she and Sam want to go to. The scene ends with "She was probably going to regret this later", implying that she will end up getting the ticket instead of the tablet. In the following chapter, it's revealed that she ''did'' get the tablet and she ended up skipping out on the concert.
* BigBrotherInstinct: In Chapter 14, Lana has a nightmare about Lincoln running away. When she wakes up, she rushes to Lincoln's bedroom to make sure he's still there and then breaks down sobbing while hugging him. Despite his current negative feelings towards his sisters, Lincoln comforts Lana, doesn't probe her about the details of the nightmare, and allows her to share his bed for the rest of the night. Before he leaves early for school the next morning, he leaves the still-sleeping Lana a note telling her she can talk about it when she's ready.
* BrokenPedestal: The revelation in Chapter 17 that neither of the Loud parents told Lincoln they knew he'd been lying has caused Lori to lose respect for them AS parents, which she makes clear in Chapter 18 when she decides that if they are too incompetent to look after their children, then she will have to do it herself.
* CallingTheOldManOut: Lori chews out her parents when she finds out that neither of them told Lincoln that they knew he was lying about his luck.
* CatapultNightmare: Lana's nightmare causes her to react this way. It's so frightening and so sudden to her that she starts to cry and goes to her brother in real life to satisfy herself.
* CerebusRetcon: Lincoln's talking to the audience here is actually him talking to himself as a technique to stay focused and organized, rather than him being crazy or LeaningOnTheFourthWall.
** Why hadn't Lincoln heard of the Sister Fight Protocol? It's not because it's new. It was actually written years ago when Lincoln was just a toddler and Lucy was a baby. It was originally created as a means to sort out conflicts between the five older Loud kids without dragging their baby brother into a fight. They took over his room in the episode because the protocol still listed the linen closet as a place to cool down as it had been written before it had been converted into his room.
* CheatersNeverProsper: In Chapter 15, Lynn learns that the real reason the Squirrels lost the match that Lincoln attended was that the other team cheated. They were eventually found out and got disqualified for it.
* CryIntoChest: When Lana comes to Lincoln for comfort in the middle of the night, she sobs into his shirt, soaking his pajamas up in the process. Lincoln is concerned about that, but ignores it to settle on comforting Lana.
* DeadFic: [=SpartanXHunterX=] confirmed on May 28, 2020 that he is no longer working on the story, as well as his [[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13311956/1/Moving-In-discontinued-free-to-adopt other]] ''The Loud House'' story, because he no longer has the time or motivation.
* DeconstructionFic: Several episodes show Lincoln being treated like [[TheScapegoat a scapegoat]] and a ButtMonkey, which never has any lasting effects on him throughout the series. In this story, however, he realizes how unfair this is and begins hating his sisters for it.
** It also deconstructs AdultsAreUseless. Rita and Lynn Sr.’s parental favoritism towards their daughters is the cause of the girls treating their brother as mentioned above. Lynn Sr. tries to force Lincoln into something that interests ''himself'' and only makes Lincoln realize he isn't the kind of son his dad wanted. Not only is their behavior causing their son to lose respect for them, but their daughters as well. Lisa is quick to point out any hypocrisy their parents carry out, and Lori chews them out for forgetting to talk to their son and then flat out promotes herself to be her younger siblings’ parent since Rita and Lynn Sr. clearly can't do the job themselves.
* DeconstructedTrope: The events of several episodes are {{Deconstructed|Trope}}. There is no ResetButton, unlike in canon where Lincoln is shown not being affected by the end of certain episodes; in this story, he is revealed to be pissed off about being blamed for things that weren’t his fault (the grocery store incident in “Cereal Offender”), being told to stay out of his sisters' affairs when all he is trying to do is help them (the Sister Fight Protocol in “Brawl in the Family”), and getting treated like a butt-monkey throughout the series, and he begins to hate his family (especially his sisters) for being put through all of this. It just goes to show that people won't just forget about bad things that happen to them and that they will be angry at the people involved.
* DidntThinkThisThrough: As mentioned below, what the Loud family did to Lincoln by locking him out of the house is illegal. The only reason they aren't in jail right now is that the only ones outside of the family who know about the incident were asked not to tell anyone or call the police. If anyone else finds out, then the entire family could be torn apart.
** Lori realizes during Lincoln's rant that the Sister Fight Protocol has gaping holes in it. They told Lincoln nothing about it yet expected him to follow it. They told him to stay out of it, yet kicked him out of his room, and she realizes how tactless and hurtful it might seem to Lincoln when he returned and they told him they stopped fighting when he left. Later on it actually turns out to be a case of 'didn't think far enough ahead' as the problem with the protocol was that it was created back when Lincoln was a toddler and many of the aspects of it that made sense when it was just his five older sisters who didn't want to drag their little brother in a conflict and the linen closet wasn't his room no longer work.
* DisproportionateRetribution: Besides banning him from going on family outings that he enjoys, the Louds punish Lincoln for lying about being bad luck by getting rid of the furniture in his room, boarding up his room, and locking him out of the house. Chapter 3 reveals that the punishment was supposed to end at Lincoln's room being boarded up, but Lynn and Luan somehow managed to convince Rita and Lynn Sr. that he hadn't learned his lesson yet.
** In Chapter 19, Lincoln asks Lori why they didn't just confiscate his stuff and ground him, saying that would have gotten the message through to him just fine.
* DodgeBallIsHell: Chapter 12 ends with the revelation that Rita and Lynn Sr. signed Lincoln up for dodgeball. In the following chapter, he gets his ass handed to him during practice and he even gets hit in the face.
* DontYouDarePityMe: After his awful dodgeball session during school, Lincoln goes to his room and lays on his bed crying. When his father calls the family down for dinner, Lincoln doesn't join them because he did not want any of his sisters to notice his puffy red eyes and garner sympathy from them at all. This trope gets deconstructed, as Lana goes to his room to try and bring her down, and Lincoln yells at her to go away, which brings ''her'' to tears and she gets a nightmare that night.
* DramaticallyMissingThePoint: At first, most of the Louds don't realize that their behavior has been negatively affecting Lincoln. Even when he starts to become distant toward them, they still don't make the connection.
** In Chapter 15, Lynn Jr. finds out that the team she lost against cheated, which means she made Lincoln's life miserable for no reason. However, she is the only member of the family (besides Lincoln himself) who believes Lincoln was being treated that way because of bad luck, not because he lied about being unlucky.
* DramaticIrony: Lincoln thinks that his family thought he was bad luck when they didn't (except Lynn); they knew he lied about it and decided to punish him for it, but they [[PoorCommunicationKills never told him this]] after they let him back inside the house. This also goes the other way around with the Loud family, who thinks that Lincoln already knows the true reason why he was punished. It isn't until Chapter 17 that Rita and Lynn Sr. realize that ''neither of them told Lincoln about it'' due to thinking that the other was going to tell him.
** In Chapter 9, Rita and Lynn Sr. still think that Lincoln was responsible for getting the Loud family banned from the grocery store in "Cereal Offender" when it was his sisters' fault.
* EveryoneHasStandards:
** [[spoiler: Lincoln may be angry with his sisters and parents for what they did, but felt like splitting them is too much of a punishment, and doesn't want to see his family getting broken up because of it. This is the reason why he begs Clyde and Ronnie Anne to not tell anybody else, especially their parents, about the incident as he knows the police and Social Services will get involved if anybody else finds out what happened.]]
** When Lana has a nightmare in Chapter 14 about Lincoln running away and telling Lana he hates her, she rushes to his room for comfort. Lincoln can't bring himself to drive her away despite distancing himself from the other members of their family, so he comforts her and allows her to spend the rest of the night with him in his room.
* ExiledToTheCouch: Lynn Sr.' fate in chapter 21.
* FrightInducedBunkmate: After Lana has a nightmare in which Lincoln tells her he hates her and runs away, she wakes up and bursts into tears. She runs to Lincoln’s room, and sobbingly hugs him. Lincoln, knowing she definitely won’t be leaving his room lonely, asks Lana if she wants to sleep in his bed tonight. Lana nods, and sleeps with him, and continues to do so more and more.
* TheGlomp: After Lana's nightmare of losing Lincoln, she runs to his room and clings hard to her big brother. When Lincoln tries to shift up, Lana clings on for dear life, not willing to let go in fear that she might lose him for real. They end up falling asleep in each other's arms.
* HeelRealization: As of Chapter 13 Lisa, Lucy, and Luna have all realized how their treatment towards their only brother has affected him. Lisa concludes on her own, while the other two realize after Lucy comes across a (very well drawn) picture Lincoln drew explaining his feelings, who then shows it to Luna.
** In Chapter 14, Lana has one when she has a nightmare about Lincoln running away from home due to all of the mistreatment he receives. This causes her to wake up, and [[TearsOfRemorse starts sobbing with regret]].
** As of Chapter 15, Lynn Jr. has found out that the other team cheated and now realizes she made Lincoln's life hell for no reason. [[PlayingWithATrope Played with]] in that she still believes Lincoln was being treated that way because of bad luck and not because Lincoln lied.
** Chapter 19, Lori admits to Lincoln that after thinking about the week he had leading up to the incident, while she doesn't approve of his lying and was mad about the golf clubs, she understood why he would be desperate to get some time to relax.
** In chapter 20, after seeing Lincoln's drawings Rita realizes two things: One, how depressed and unloved her son feels by his sisters and parents, and two, that Lincoln has incredible artistic talent.
** Chapter 21, Rita helps Jr. see how her mocking Lincoln's drawings as worthless made him feel, by comparing it to calling her sports trophies worthless.
* HiddenDepths: Lincoln's "Loud talent" is art. He enjoys art class. Spends as much free time in school as he can in the art room doing his work early because he enjoys it that much and, whether he realizes it or not, those who see his work (even the sad drawings) agree that they are ''very'' well drawn. Mr. Dawkins his art teacher even privately refers to him as his star student leagues above every other kid in school.
* IDidWhatIHadToDo: Chapter 17 shows that [[spoiler: despite Lori disliking being so harsh on her siblings, she felt it is necessary to keep them in line. Particularly dealing Lola with her SoapPunishment]].
* IHaveNoSon: At first, Lincoln doesn't outright tell his family that he's disowning them, but whenever the story focuses on him, his sisters (except for Lily) and parents are referred to as his "ex-sisters" and "ex-parents", respectively. In Chapter 12, he admits to [[spoiler: Ronnie Anne]] that, at the very least, he no longer considers Rita and Lynn Sr. to be his parents. In Chapter 16, he finally tells his family straight to their faces that he only considers Lily to be his family.
* InternalReveal:
** In Chapter 11,[[spoiler: Lincoln tells Clyde and Ronnie Anne about what happened during the "bad luck" incident.]]
** In Chapter 17, the Loud parents, Lori, Lisa, Luna (who was told by Lori), and possibly the rest of the sisters realize that Lincoln thinks that they all thought he was bad luck.
** In Chapter 19, Lori tells Lincoln that the whole family, sans Lynn Jr., knew he was lying about being bad luck. Lincoln doesn't take this revelation very well.
* KarmaHoudini: Lincoln complains about his sisters always getting away with almost everything.
* KidsAreCruel: Played straight in Chapter 13 when Lincoln gets hit in the face during dodgeball practice and all the kids laugh at him.
** In the same chapter, this is {{Defied|Trope}} when Chandler gives him his backpack and P.E. bag so that he doesn't have to go in the locker room and get jumped by all the boys in the room, which would result in everyone getting detention because no one would take the blame for the fight.
* MundaneLuxury: In Chapter 22, Lincoln [[spoiler: finding that he has a bed again]] moves him so much he decides to listen to Lisa... after [[spoiler: just enjoying the feeling of lying down on a mattress again.]]
* NeverMyFault: In Chapter 4, the twins run into Lincoln at school and Lola blames Lincoln for not being there to help everyone get ready for school, even though they shouldn't have to depend on him to get ready in the morning.
--> ''[[{{Lampshaded}} Was... Was Lola claiming him responsible for whatever had transpired after they all woke up? There was no way he could have done anything whilst he was away.]]''
* NoSympathy: When Lincoln's sketchbook is destroyed, Lynn Sr. apologizes to Luna, sincerely thinking it was hers, and says he hopes that there wasn't anything important in it. When she explains it was Lincoln's, Lynn Sr. loses all interest and states there wasn't anything important in it then. He gets yelled at by Lori and Luna for this.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness:
** Lori in Chapter 17 shows her in TranquilFury rather than her usual explosions. This is the reason why Lincoln was willing to listen [[spoiler: to Lori in Chapter 19, by not acting like BigSisterBully towards him]].
** Lincoln's behavior in general towards his family is this. Usually he is a NiceGuy and a CheerfulChild, but when he realizes how badly his family treated him he distances himself towards them and stops hanging out or doing things for them (Lily being the sole exception due to being a baby and therefore innocent in the whole matter)
* OnlySaneMan: By Chapter 12, Lisa is the only of the Louds who realizes just how serious the situation with Lincoln has become, and is actively taking steps to make amends. She is planning to get him a new bed and she refuses to help Rita and Lynn Sr. hack Lincoln's phone. By Chapter 19, Lori also realizes the severity of the situation.
* ParentalFavoritism: Lincoln believes that he is a victim of this, as his sisters get away with their behavior without being punished by the Loud parents while the second that ''he'' steps out of line, ''he's'' the one who gets in trouble.
* PassingTheTorch: Used negatively during Chapter 19. While Lori is apologizing to Lincoln, she admits that when Lincoln was growing up, she was doting on him as any good big sister would, but one day, she just foisted all of her responsibilities onto him. She admits she has no idea why she did that but knows now that she shouldn't have just passed off her duties as an elder sibling onto him.
* PoorCommunicationKills: The Loud family punished Lincoln for lying about being bad luck... except they never told him this after ending his punishment, which results in him thinking that they thought he had bad luck. [[spoiler: when Lori reveals this to him in Chapter 19, he is NOT happy.]]
** Chapter 17 reveals that both Loud parents thought that the other one was going to explain their actions and his punishment to their son. The two of them and Lori (who overheard them say that) now realize that Lincoln believes they kicked him out because they thought he was bad luck.
* PragmaticVillainy: Chandler's reason for giving Lincoln's bags back[[note]]"No Such Luck" was created before "Jeers For Fears", where the latter episode ends with Chandler and Lincoln on friendlier terms, so he is still a {{Jerkass}} in this story.[[/note]] is that he doesn't want to get in trouble if everyone else attacks Lincoln in the locker room.
* PrecisionFStrike:
** Happens in Chapter 16 when [[spoiler: Lincoln slaps Lynn for trying to apologize to him]].
-->'''[[spoiler:Lynn]]:''' WHAT THE FUCK [[spoiler:LINCOLN]]!?
** Chapter 18 has Lola yelling out "Bullshit", causing her to receive a SoapPunishment.
* PromotionToParent: Lori has effectively promoted ''herself'' to parent as of Chapter 18 after realizing how much Rita and Lynn Sr. have screwed up with Lincoln. As shown with the way she handles Lola's punishment for swearing, [[OOCIsSeriousBusiness She doesn't yell or threaten her like an aggressive big sister]], but forces the girl to admit what she did wrong, makes her wash her mouth out with soap, then comforts her as she sobs just as a responsible parent should.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Lincoln's teacher Mrs. Johnson hears rumors about his family situation and questions him about it out of concern. She doesn't try to force any info out of him but says that he can come to her or any of the counselors to talk about it when he feels comfortable doing so.
** After taking over as the responsible adult in the house. Lori still acts with authority over her siblings, but now also with reasonability rather than bossing them around like a drill sergeant.
** Mr. Dawkins the art teacher sees Lincoln lazing about not doing any work in his class. Rather than get angry and punish the boy, he worries for him, as Lincoln is his best student and art is his favorite class. Realizing the boy is depressed, he sends an email to the principal, hoping that Huggins will help the boy out of his funk.
* RejectedApology: Luna attempts to apologize to Lincoln in Chapter 10, but the latter is too angry to acknowledge the former's remorse, let alone accepting her apology.
** In Chapter 16, when Lynn apologizes to Lincoln for blaming him for her loss, he [[spoiler: slaps her in the face]] and refuses to forgive her, then he delivers a TheReasonYouSuckSpeech about how one apology won't suffice. [[DisproportionateRestitution After everything he went through, a simple "I'm sorry" won't cut it]].
** Chapter 19 shows that [[spoiler: Lincoln [[DownplayedTrope still isn't forgiving Lori]] just yet and is still upset from the family's actions, but he's willing to give them a chance]].
** {{Discussed|Trope}} in Chapter 25. Luna is revealed to have gotten the drawing tablet for Lincoln. However, she thinks that, due to how amazing the gift is, he will think that she is trying to get him to forgive him and will reject the apology. She decides to think about how to present the gift to Lincoln so this doesn't happen.
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech:
** Lincoln gives one of these to Lori in Chapter 6 when she gets mad at him for leaving early for school again and not being there to help everyone else get ready in the morning.
--> '''Lori:''' We need you here in the morning to help us Lincoln. It's difficult getting the twins to behave so early and you're one of the few who can separate them.\
'''Lincoln (who is sitting on the couch):''' Well, I'm sorry.\
''({{beat}})''\
'''Lori:''' Excuse me?\
'''Lincoln:''' ''(looks Lori in the eye, crosses his arms, and sits up straight)'' I'm sorry that I'm my own person, I'm sorry that I'm doing my own thing, I'm sorry that I'm prioritizing myself, ''(angrier)'' I'm sorry that all of you are so incompetent to get yourself ready in the morning, I'm sorry I'm not your slave! ''(gets up off the couch)'' It's not my fault that half of you can't set an alarm properly, it's not my fault you all argue over the bathroom EVERY morning, it's not my fault that the roads are busy during the school rush hour, ''and it's not my fault that YOU can't control your sisters!''
** Lincoln gives Lynn one in Chapter 16, but not before [[spoiler:slapping her ''hard'']]. At the end of it, he calls out his family as well.
-->'''Lincoln:''' ''(Tone starting out genuine, but eventually turning sarcastic)'' OH!, Right. I'm sorry about that Lynn, I'm just going to say it's all water under the bridge cause [[spoiler: your cheek no longer hurts]] cause I've said sorry.
-->'''Lynn:''' What do you mean [[spoiler:"my cheek no longer hurts"? It stings like fuck right now]].
-->'''Lincoln:''' THAT'S MY POINT EXACTLY LYNN! [[spoiler: JUST LIKE I DID WITH YOU,]] YOU SAYING SORRY TO ME DOES NOT SUDDENLY MAKE EVERYTHING YOU DID OKAY AND ACCEPTABLE! YOU SAYING SORRY DOESN'T TAKE AWAY THE FACT THAT I SLEPT OUTSIDE FOR TWO NIGHTS, IT DOESN'T BRING BACK MY FURNITURE AND IT DOESN'T UNDO ALL THE PAIN AND SUFFERING YOU DID TO ME OVER THE YEARS! ''(with a bitter, yet controlled tone)'' Just because you say sorry doesn't mean I suddenly forget about everything you did and everything that has happened to me. Sorry does not absolve you of your actions Lynn. The same goes for the rest of you. ''(gestures to his family; sans Lily)'' Now I'm going to say this once, and only once. The only person in this room I consider family is Lily, and that is because she hasn't done anything wrong to me, whereas all of you ''have''... ''Especially'' you two! ''(points at his parents)'' I don't want any of you near me unless you are fixing your mistakes! Understood?
* RightForTheWrongReasons: In Chapter 15, Lynn realizes it was wrong of her to label Lincoln bad luck after she lost the game. Why? Because the other team cheated to beat her. It doesn't occur to her that blaming Lincoln for a lost game would be just as, if not more, wrong had her opponents won fair and square.
* TheRunaway: Subverted; in Chapter 14, it seems the story will go down this path (like a lot of other NSL fics before it) when Lana finds Lincoln sneaking out of the house in the middle of the night, having finally had enough of all the abuse. She tries to stop him, to no avail. Then the whole thing turns out to be AllJustADream.
* TheScapegoat: Lincoln believes that he was born simply for his parents to have somebody to blame for what his sisters do wrong.
* SecretKeeper: Lucy has Luna promise to keep Lincoln's artistic talent a secret from the family. She can talk about the negative feelings he portrayed in his drawing, but not the picture itself, saying that it's something Lincoln needs to reveal, and only when he is ready. [[spoiler: The secret is blown by Chapter 20, both his feelings ''and'' his talent.]]
* SelectiveEnforcement: The Loud parents say nothing when Lynn swears at Lincoln, yet when Lisa insults Lynn back because of it, they tell her that she shouldn't speak to her sister like that. Lisa pointing out that they didn't have a problem with Lynn cussing at their son shuts them both up.
* SleepCute: When Lana and Lincoln are sleeping in the same bed. When Lincoln wakes up the next morning, he sees Lana sleeping peacefully, and is heart warmed that the normally rough girl was looking so cute.
* SoapPunishment: Done by Lori to Lola after she swears during an argument with Lana and Lisa.
* TranquilFury: Lincoln has every right to be livid [[spoiler: when Lori told him that the family knew he was lying. Lincoln didn't explode into a rage but is still angry at them]].
* TroublingUnchildlikeBehavior: Lincoln begins to distance himself by refusing to leave his room to join the family for dinner, leaving the house early, and coming home late, which concerns his family.
* TheUnfavorite: Lincoln feels this way because his parents ignore his sisters' behavior and always pay more attention to them.
** While Rita seems to have favored her daughters unintentionally through ignorance, there is evidence Lynn Sr. is doing this knowingly. In Chapter 20, when Lynn Sr. destroys a notebook, he thinks it's Luna's, apologizes to her and says he will replace it. When she tells him it belonged to Lincoln, he becomes uninterested and returns to what he had been doing.
* WhatIf: “What if the Loud family pretended to believe that Lincoln was bad luck to punish him for lying about it?” and “What if Lincoln realized how unfairly he has been treated by his family?”
* WhatTheHellHero: Chapter 19 has Lincoln calling [[spoiler: Lori out for not only her and the rest of the family knowing that he lied the whole time and never confronting him about it, but punishing him excessively for it]].
* WhyCouldntYouBeDifferent: In Chapter 13 when his father addresses him as "Future Superstar", Lincoln realizes that his father expects him, as a boy, to love and play sports like Lynn Jr.
* ZanyScheme: While talking to Lori, Lincoln reveals he hates being "The Man With The Plan". He hates that his relationship with his sisters is in such a state that he has to resort to something as drastic as scheming against his own family just to get things he wants.
