''Hyper Danganronpa'' is a ''Franchise/{{Danganronpa}}'' fanfic written by Kittymonk (Kitmo the Kittymonk. While it began development in December of 2015, it was not completed until July 2017 and underwent intense editing until its prologue was posted to Archive Of Our Own on May 21st, 2018. The story can be found [[ here]].
The story stars Yuuta Teshima, a young man who, after dreaming of a long bus ride up a steep mountain, woke up in the mysterious Hiroishiya Rehabilitation Center. After learning that he--along with the fifteen other teens staying at Hiroishiya--was invited to an ultimate academy that he knew very little about with the illustrious title of SHSL Reformer, Monokuma arrives to announce his intentions to begin a killing game on Hiroishiya's grounds. His goal is to indoctrinate the ultimate students into a future in service of despair using a mutual killing game. From thereon, Teshima and his classmates must try their best to resist Monokuma's despair and search for the secret underlying Hiroishiya's foundation.

!! ''Hyper Danganronpa'' contains examples of:
* ArtificialLimbsAreStronger: Mitsukuri's robotic arm is frequently suggested to make her stronger, though we only really see this when it comes to punches and the sort because it's, well, made out of metal.
* AssholeVictim: Chapter 1's victim was killed because of the murder plot they cooked up in order to kill the person who received their secret from Monokuma. [[spoiler: It doesn't help that he also happened to be one of the top-ranking hitmen in Japan.]]
* AWolfInSheepsClothing: [[spoiler: Haruki Hano, who was secretly one of the top-ranking hitmen in Japan...even if he didn't try very hard to hide his mean side.]]
* BitchInSheepsClothing: Ootomo's entire character is based around this concept; she acts different depending on who she's with and only acts like her real, bratty self around other girls.
* ClosetOtaku: Kajiwara's deepest, darkest secret is that she likes to dress up and roleplay as Manta Nekamoga, the main character of the ShowWithinAShow shoujo anime ''Manta Sea Mania''.
* ConfusingMultipleNegatives: Seen in this exchange where Hano tries to convince Ebina to leave her seat against Kajiwara's orders:
-->'''Hano:''' ďIf [Kajiwara] didnít say it, then that means that you can do it since she didnít tell you not to. If she didnít want you to move, she wouldíve said ĎI donít want to not tell you not to move.í Isnít that right?Ē
-->'''Ebina:''' "But standing up contradicts the very act of sitting down! I would be disobeying her orders if I did anything different."
-->'''Hano:''' "Then couldnít she have said Ďsit down, but donít think that not sitting isnít a bad ideaí?"
-->'''Ebina:''' "Uh...[[LogicBomb Iím confused. Can I stand, or canít I?]]Ē
-->'''Hano:''' ďIím not sure, canít you not? Isnít that what Kajiwara-san didnít say?Ē
* TheDitz: Tajima, according to Nonaka, has the memory and intellect of 'a half-dead goldfish'--which can best be seen when he [[ForgetfulJones forgets Teshima's name within five minutes of first hearing it]].
* TheDogBitesBack: Futabatei's analysis of Hano's psyche near the end of the prologue seems to suggest that Hano only became so sarcastic and smarmy after enduring [[HeWhoFightsMonsters years of torment over the course of his junior high school career]].
* ExactWords: This is the extent to which [[ExtremeDoormat Ebina follows Kajiwara's orders]], [[ShrinkingViolet even if Kajiwara never intended to boss Ebina around in the first place]]. This is especially evident when Kajiwara asks Ebina to 'stay inside' and 'make sure nobody does anything dangerous'--because Kajiwara never specified that she was allowed to move, Ebina continued standing sentry in front of the door leading outside until Kajiwara gave her permission to act freely again.
* GenkiGirl: Both Shimizu and Mitsukuri would easily apply; Shimizu spends most of her introduction doing tricks and attempting to climb an electric fence and Mitsukuri spends hers striking anime poses and raving about how cool [[ArtificialLimbs her robotic arm is]].
* GrievousBottleyHarm: A specially-prepared wine bottle is used as a weapon in one chapter.
* HateAtFirstSight: Igarashi's first interaction with Teshima sees him berating Teshima for his poor manners, stuttering, and uselessness--and this hatred doesn't lessen at all throughout the prologue.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: [[spoiler: Hano prepared a special murder weapon and devised a complicated plan involving blackmail and a secret door connecting the wine cellar to the kitchen cellar in order to kill Futabatei, but she managed to wrench the weapon out of his hands and kill him with it.]]
* TheKlutz: The prologue alone sees poor GentleGiant Shuuji Uehara bumping his elbow against something, bumping his hip into a table, and getting karate chopped over the head by Mitsukuri's metal arm. He's so clumsy that [[ he's even wearing a bandage on the bridge of his nose in his official art]].
* MasterActor: A large part of Ootomo's character thus far involves her manipulating men using her knowledge about matchmaking in order to benefit her somehow, whether that involves washing an apple for her or pitting two boys against each other for seemingly no reason.
* OnlyInItForTheMoney: According to his introduction, Erizawa only dresses like a {{Meido}} in order to trick men into paying him more with the assumption that he's a cute teenage girl.
* ShipperOnDeck: Fujita's most annoying character trait. Ootomo's entire ''title'' is based around matchmaking, though, so a special mention should be given to her.
* SchmuckBait: [[ According to his bio]], Hano is best known for [[TheGadfly "getting into dangerous situations, laughing, and saying, 'Itís not so bad! Here, try it!'"]]
* SurprisinglySuddenDeath: The first victim's death came as a big shock InUniverse, as they were found relatively quickly after they were killed in a strange location that they shouldn't have had access to.
* ThisLoserIsYou: Yuuta Teshima, our protagonist, seems to be the only normal person in Hiroishiya...but this comes at the cost of his [[NoSocialSkills problems interacting and relating to his fellow students]] as he can usually be found stumbling his way through every conversation he shares with them.
