''Horseshoes and Hand Grenades'' is a collection of ''Series/KamenRiderFourze'' {{Alternate Universe Fic}}s. Taking place near the climax of the Aries Zodiarts arc, it starts with one simple idea. What would've happened if Gentaro wasn't revived by the Cosmic Switch? What if something else revived him, and what if said something was evil? From [[ForWantOfANail this]], the world of Fourze has gone downhill. With a being known as Ophiuchus involved in Gentaro's resurrection and FaceHeelTurn, all factions involved in the plot change, and some not for the better. The Kamen Rider Club have to live with the fact that they caused this whole mess to happen, the bad guys have to resort to a new plan now that Gentaro has derailed theirs, and Ryusei is going to have to go through hell thanks to his decision to kill Gentaro.

In other words, if you thought the CerebusRollercoaster in Fourze was bad, this fic has taken one of the most optimistic Kamen Rider series and made it {{Darker and Edgier}}.

The series is currently being written by Creator/GreenPhantomQueen (who is also a troper that goes by the name of Camilla) completed with the main story completed at 28 chapters (plus three intermissions). It can be read [[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/8719616/1/Horseshoes-and-Hand-grenades here]]. The stories' biggest strengths is the focus and backstories on all the characters in the Kamen Rider Fourze mythos (big and small), the development of Gentaro becoming an evil, malicious character through the influence of Ophiuchus, and the consequences of one's actions. Moreover, the author has also added the combined strength of [[Series/KamenRiderAmazon three]] [[Series/KamenRiderV3 different]] [[Series/KamenRiderDenO Kamen Riders]] to even the playing field and more are destined to come as the story unravels.

The author is also working on many other works that are in the same universe, revolving around secondary characters in Kamen Rider Fourze--[[Series/HikoninSentaiAkibaranger and]] [[Series/ZyudenSentaiKyoryuger some]] [[Series/KamenRiderDouble characters]] [[Series/KamenRiderOOO from]] [[Series/KamenRiderWizard other]] [[Series/KamenRiderGaim shows]]--that get involved with this madness because of Gentaro's death, some of them happening around the same time as the main conflict. According to the author's profile, they're divided into parts. These are:

Due to the stories involved, it is vitally important that you read through one work until the end due to the stories being intertwined with one another. Also expect lots of spoilers.

Oh, and it's also worth mentioning that the author is a [[AuthorAppeal fan]] of Masterdramon's [[Fanfic/MyDarkKing My Dark King]], which she notes was what inspired her writing style for the story.

A character sheet is in the works. All tropes regarding characters will be moved there. The author also is listing facts about the characters in her profile.

!!This Series Provides Examples Of:

[[foldercontrol]]

[[folder:Tropes In All Stories]]
* ActionGirl: Yuki Jojima, Miu Kazashiro, Tomoko Nozama...basically all female characters in the show can kick ass.
** DarkActionGirl: [[spoiler: Sarina Sonada, Yukina Takamura and Misa Torizaki once they appear.]]
* AdaptationalBadass: ''Everyone'' in the Fourze universe gets a level in badass in this fic.
* AlliterativeTitle: ''Dog Days'', ''Summertime Sadness'' and ''Forbidden Fruit''
* AnyoneCanDie: [[spoiler: Shun Daimonji, Yukina Takamura, Misa Torizaki, Shotaro Hidari...]]. Basically no one is safe from this trope.
* AscendedExtra: ''Many'' secondary characters in the Fourze universe are playing bigger parts whether they're in Horseshoes, or in any of the other stories.
* AuthorAppeal: The author likes music as some of the stories are titled after a band (Imagine Dragons and The Birthday Massacre), song (Summertime Sadness, Another Me), or album (Confessions on a Dance Floor) and titles there will be TitledAfterTheSong. She also likes ''Theatre/RosencrantzAndGuildensternAreDead'' given how it's been referenced a few times, and the boys who were with Mei back in episode 31 of Fourze are named Ros and Guil.
* {{Backstory}}: Every Kamen Rider Fourze character has a backstory, and most characters not related to Fourze also have new backstories to relate to this dark world.
* BadassAdorable: Yuki Jojima for the Kamen Rider Club, and Jun Shigeno for the Cosmic Hunting Dogs.
* BadassCrew: The Kamen Rider Club and the Den-O Kamen Riders.
* BadassNormal: Riderman and Miu Kazashiro
* BadassTeacher: Chuta Ohsugi and Haruka Utsugi
* BerserkButton: Several.
** Hayami hates it when one calls him weak, (or in the case of Ophiuchus, calling him a "Master of One".).
** [[spoiler: Brainwashed!Kengo hates it when anyone mentions his father, the same with Emoto.]]
** Gentaro is angry when anyone reminds him of his friendship and his human life.
** Yukina gets pissed over any mention of a girl related to Gentaro. Likewise, Yuki Jojima doesn't like it for anyone who belittles Gentaro's stance on friendship.
* BigBad: It's split between Ophiuchus and Gamou. In ''Month of Sundays'' the {{Big Bad}}s are both Gamou and Neon Ulsland.
* CameBackWrong: Gentaro, thanks to Ophiuchus, and the majority of the Serpent-bearers came to be because they died.
* ContinuityPorn: Every named character in Fourze up to episode 34 has been present and accounted for, and references to other Kamen Rider series are prominent.
* {{Crossover}}: It's gotten to the point where numerous Kamen Riders are coming in to help out. For example:
** Three different Kamen Riders--[[Series/KamenRiderAmazon Amazon]], [[Series/KamenRiderV3 Riderman]], and [[Series/KamenRiderDenO Den-O]]--get involved in the events and decide to help out. The end of XIV "Shadows of the Damned" reveals that [[spoiler: [[Series/KamenRiderDouble Gentaro is heading off to Futo in the future.]]]] In Horseshoe's Intermission 2 "Voodoo Child", [[Series/KamenRiderDragonKnight Kit and Maya]] find someone talking about the 'War of the Stars''. The third Intermission has Yayoi Tokuda and [[Series/KamenRiderWizard Haruto Souma meeting with Mei Shirakawa]]
** In ''A Month of Sundays'', the Cosmic Hunting Dogs encounter [[Series/KamenRiderOOO most of the OOO cast]] (and one [[Series/HikoninSentaiAkibaranger Yumeria Moegi]], and Part 1.25 focuses on characters in [[Series/KamenRiderGaim Zaname City]] (and one Luna Iwashimizu), with unexpected appearances of [[Series/ZyudenSentaiKyoryuger the Kyoryugers]].
* DarkerAndEdgier: Fourze was more of a VileVillainSaccharineShow with a healthy dose of CerebusRollercoaster at the most, but this series pushes Fourze into areas that it usually wouldn't go. [[spoiler: The ending of Horseshoes and Hand Grenades chapter 11, for example, implies that a minor character was ''forced into suicide.'']]
* DualWielding: Gentaro gains two blades with the Circinus Spell. Shun gets two ''patas'' (a pair of gauntlet with sword blades) [[spoiler: when he makes his contract with Vasuki.]] Rumi upgrades from a vaulting pole to a pair of batons later on.
* EmpoweredBadassNormal: Shun Daimonji, JK, [[spoiler: Haruka becomes this as Super Den-O]]
* {{Epigraph}}: Each chapter of every story starts with a quote in relation to the chapter's title.
* FighterMageThief:
** The Kamen Rider Club Girls has Yuki's Hayabusa plushie PowerFist and Miu in the Power Dizer (Fighter), Erin's ability as the Aquarius Zodiarts (Mage) and Tomoko's snake skin whip and barrier powers (Thief).
** In ''A Month of Sundays'', The Glee Club has Abe being the sword wielder (Thief), Ibuki the {{Ninja}} with a large arsenal that fights at a distance (Mage) and Taira with his axe that does the most damage to opponents (Fighter). The girls have Rumi charging in with the vaulting pole (Fighter), Mari and her healing spells (Mage) and Jun with her athleticism and acrobatics (Thief)
** For the villains' side, Gentaro is usually the brawler seeing as he's a Kamen Rider (Fighter), Kengo fights at a distance with fire (Mage) and Jiro fights up close with knives (Thief)
* FirstPersonPerspective: Some of the stories have a first person point of view. These include:
** ''Another Me:'' Gentaro Kisaragi
** ''[=SplitxEnd=]'': Yayoi Tokudo
** ''Imagine Dragons:'' Haruto Sohma, which uses present tense instead of past tense.
** ''Confessions on a Dance Floor:'' Luna Iwashimizu
** ''Give the Green Light:'' Souji Rippukan
* FollowTheLeader: As stated above, the author was inspired by FanFic/MyDarkKing. The author even notes which things she 'borrowed' from that fanfic in her profile.
* ForWantOfANail: The series' plot comes from Kengo not reviving Gentaro with the Cosmic Switch, but rather has Ophiuchus do it instead.
** Moreover, ''everything'' comes to fruition due to Ryusei's DealWithTheDevil. The prequel "Who Decides?" states that he was trying to follow the fortune-reading laid out for him.
* IdiosyncraticEpisodeNaming: Most stories have the chapter titles be different things, and the names of the chapters vary also. So far, this includes:
** ''Wheel of Fortune:'' The chapter titles are called "Wheel", and every chapter is named after a Tarot Card and whether it's right-side up or upside down.
** ''The Birthday Massacre'': The chapter titles are called "Melody", and every chapter is named after a song from Music/TheBirthdayMassacre
** ''Horseshoes and Hand Grenades'', ''A Month of Sundays'', ''Quick to the Trigger'' have titles based on the last word or syllable based off the previous chapter.
** ''[=SplitxEnd=]'' has its chapter titles be named "Split". The letters of each four chapters from up to down (except the first four which is vice versa), spells a word.
** ''Imagine Dragons:'' The chapter titles are called "Imagine", with each chapter named after a song from Music/ImagineDragons
** ''Cherry Picking'': Has titles following the pattern Black [X]
** ''Forbidden Fruit'': Each chapter title is called "Bite", and every chapter is named after a food-related idiom.
** ''Summertime Sadness:'' Each chapter title is called "Summer".
** ''Confessions On a Dance Floor'': Chapters are called "Dance", and each chapter is titled after the titular album.
** ''Give the Green Light:'' Chapters are called "Green", and follow the pattern "Give the [X]"
* ItsALongStory: A common way of characters to say that whoever isn't caught up with the plot will have a ''lot'' explained to them.
* RunningGag: Throughout many of the stories, people comment on how Gentaro's death via one-inch punch looks like something that came from a Bruce Lee movie.
* ThemeNaming: The majority of the stories have idioms based titles. These include:
** ''Horseshoes and Hand-grenades'' means "Coming close yet not succeeding is not enough"
** ''A Month of Sundays'' means "Not likely to happen"
** ''Cherry Picking'' is about "Choosing specific people/things to complete a task."
** ''Quick to the Trigger'' talks about "People being quick to respond to anything"
** ''Give the Green Light'' means "Giving permission for someone to do something."
** ''Blue-Eyed Boy'' means "The favorite of someone in power".
** ''Dog Days'' means "The hottest days of Summer."
* TitledAfterTheSong: Many of the stories are named after bands, albums, or songs. This includes:
** ''Imagine Dragons'', based on the [[Music/ImagineDragons titular band]]. Chapters are titled after their songs.
** ''Confessions On A Dance Floor'', named after the Music/{{Madonna}} album.
** ''The Birthday Massacre'' is named after [[Music/TheBirthdayMassacre the titular band]], with songs from their albums.
** ''Tears to Shed'' is named after the song from ''WesternAnimation/CorpseBride''
** ''Another Me'' is named after one of the entrance themes of Wrestling/JeffHardy.
** ''Summertime Sadness'' is named after the Music/LanaDelRey song, and Erin's chapter is named after the Music/{{Enya}} song "Orinoco Flow"
* ATragedyOfImpulsiveness: Where this is headed. The series can basically be summed up to: "Thanks to Ryusei killing off TheHero, he gets resurrected and hell breaks loose."
* WesternZodiac: Notable in that Gentaro's birthday falls on November 30th. This usually means he's a Scorpio, but he is considered an Ophiuchus in the story. One of the biggest mysteries in the series is discovering why this is true.
* WorldOfBadass: Every Kamen Rider Fourze character have been given significant levels of badass to survive in this world ranging from the LovableCoward KnowledgeBroker fighting with guns (filled with rubber bullets, but still!), the candy eating cheerleader fighting a Serpent with a mannequin arm, and the ButtMonkey teacher willingly beating the teacher he had a crush on.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Horseshoes and Hand Grenades]]
%%* AmazonBrigade: Pun aside, this is the Kamen Rider Club Girls in a nutshell.
* AmbiguouslyEvil: Virgo Zodiarts, big time. Considering what [[UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom Ryusei caused]] though...
* AnimalMotif: Ophiuchus, and by extension Gentaro, is represented by snakes.
* ArcWords: "Death shouldn't be the answer." or variations of it. "Who are you? No, what are you?" is also common place..
* AsYouKnow: XV The Damned Don't Dance gives the audience the entire backstory of Fourze with OSTO and the Cosmic Energy involved.
* AxeCrazy: [[spoiler: Ryusei, Jiro, and Kengo as of the Kyoto Arc.]]
* Myth/AztecMythology: Tomoko's group is doing a play between Quetzalcoatl and Mictlantecuhtli in the Kyoto Arc in an attempt to lure Ryusei out in the open. There's also the "Serpent of Obsidian Knives", a.k.a [[spoiler: Jiro Inseki]], which is a symbol of sacrifice.
* BeautyBrainsAndBrawn:
** For the Kamen Rider Club Girls
*** Beauty: Tomoko
*** Brains: Yuki
*** Brawn: Erin and Miu
* TheBigBoard: Miu has a large whiteboard in the Den-Liner which helps her plan out everyone's movements.
* BigDamnHeroes:
** In the twelfth chapter, JK is about to be killed by [[spoiler: Ryusei]]. Cue Nadeshiko coming in out of nowhere with a kick to the stomach.
*** The next chapter, JK is once again going to be killed by the same person above. Cue Shun coming in to save his ass...[[spoiler: [[OhCrap as a Serpent-bearer.]]]]
* BlackAndWhiteMorality: The Kamen Rider Club and their friends, the Kamen Riders and their friends are the good guys compared to Gentaro and Ophiuchus and the Zodiarts.
* ABoyAndHisX: Soushi Motoyama, Shun Daimonji, Ban Chosuke, JK and Norio Eguchi with their Imagin partners for the good guys. Then we have Gentaro and his Serpent Master on the villain's side.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: Aside from Gentaro we also have: [[spoiler: Ryusei, Kengo, Jiro along with the other Serpent Vessels]]
* BreatherEpisode: Zigzagged. The Intermission chapters are breaks from the heavy fighting in the main story...but they also reveal scenes that are being influenced by said fighting and become other stories that happen along the way.
* CentralTheme: Victories and shortcomings: most battles between good and evil have one side unable to claim victory and the title reflects on the motion of "It's win or lose. That's all."
* CreepyDoll: [[spoiler: Shotaro ''becomes one'' as per payment for being a Serpent-bearer to Damballa in the second Intermission and Damballa does it again to Haruto in the third.]]
* CuteBruiser: Hana Izumi.
* {{Deconstruction}}: Ryusei's IDidWhatIHadToDo mentality to kill Gentaro in this fic shows that it was ''not'' for the best, and ''Why Decide?'' explains that there were alternate ways to save Jiro. It also deconstructs some of the characters and their decisions (for example explaining Misa Torizaki's backstory and her ultimate decision to force Norio to become Cygnus again and Ophiuchus [[BreakThemByTalking breaking]] Gentaro on his ideals of friendship)
* DemonicPossession: The Imagins appear once more to help out with the plot and bond to different characters to access Den-O's different forms. They are:
** Momotaros/Sword Form -> Soushi Motoyama
** Urataros/Rod Form -> Shun Daimonji
** Kintaros/Axe Form -> Ban Chosuke
** Ryutaros/Gun Form -> JK
** Sieg/Wing Form -> Norio Eguchi
** All Together/Super Climax Form -> [[spoiler: Haruka Utsugi]]
* DownerBeginning: The first chapter (in this order), has Gentaro resurrected and brainwashing Ohsugi and Kengo to make it believe he wasn't resurrected, then destroying the Aries Zodiarts by summoning Ophiuchus to summon him whole, brainwashing his friends to forget everything that they've seen, and finally giving Ryusei mercy all while mocking him that that they're "friends". Harsh.
* EarlyBirdCameo: Yuta Suguira (Taurus Zodiarts) gets name-dropped during the first Intermission.
* EvilCounterpart: [[spoiler: The Meteor Impact Switch for Meteor Storm and Void States for Cosmic States.]]

* FourGirlEnsemble: The Kamen Rider Club Girls consist of LovableAlphaBitch Miu Kazashiro, GenkiGirl and {{Otaku}} Yuki Jojima, PerkyGoth Tomoko Nozama and CoolBigSis Erin Suda.
* ILetGwenStacyDie[=/=]ItsAllMyFault: The Kamen Rider Club blame themselves for Gentaro's death since none of them realized that Ryusei was Kamen Rider Meteor and the fact that they stood there to let Gentaro die.
* InelegantBlubbering: Kintaros does this twice, one when he gives Yukina a slap and the second when he starts crying at [[spoiler: seeing Hana's wounds from fighting Yuri.]]
* KarmicDeath: [[spoiler: Yukina dies by the very same man that she's been so obsessive over in XIII-2 "Of Sins and Shadows". Yamada is sent into a coma by the same man he told Ryusei to kill.]]
* LoveMakesYouStupid: Ohsugi has this epiphany about him falling in love with Sonada, realizing that he was an utter fool. Yukina realizes this too late [[spoiler: and she dies at the end of XIII-2 "Of Sins and Shadows"]].
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: Norio goes into this when he learns Misa's backstory.
** Ryusei has this epiphany at the end of the first chapter, when he sees resurrected Gentaro walk off after sending Aries Zodiarts into a coma.
* {{Ouroboros}}: [[spoiler: Ophiuchus' prime objective is to resurrect King Ouroboros from his slumber.]]
* RingOfFire: Gentaro creates one when he fights Erin and Yuki in ''XXIV-Demon Days''.
* RousingSpeech: Ohsugi gives this to the Kamen Rider Club in order to give them hope. Chosuke gives one to his gang to convince them to help fight against Ophiuchus.
* SanitySlippage: Ryusei, [[spoiler: post Cosmic Energy injections]]
* StellarName: Gentaro has access to abilities that are named after constellations. These include:
** ''Serpens'': Summons a snake that acts like a MindControlDevice to whomever it decides to clamp around a person's neck.
** ''Pictor'': Lets him disguise his appearance. "Tears to Shed" reveals that with enough concentration, Gentaro can transform into a snake.
** ''Serpens Caput/Cauda'': Summons two halves of a snake used for resurrection. ''Caput'' summons that lower half that crawls into the deceased person's throat, and ''Cauda'' summons the head that resurrects the body after Gentaro says the magic words.
** ''Horologium'': Makes the sound of a pendulum clock ring in a person's head.
** ''Pyxis'': Similar to Pyxis Zodiarts' ability in the show.
** ''Scutum'': Creates a shield to protect him from attacks.
** ''Hercules'': Gives Gentaro temporary SuperStrength.
** ''Circinus'': Wields [[DualWielding two blades]] on his wrists. The one on his right (King snake) creates {{Fireballs}}, while the one on his left (Coral Snake) can extend to farther distances.
** ''Gemini'': Can create [[MesACrowd another copy of himself.]]
** ''Sagitta'': Attacks enemies with [[RainOfArrows a multitude of arrows]].
* ThemeNaming: Gentaro's worshipers are named after snake deities or related to them. We so far have Apep ([[spoiler:Kengo]]),Serpent of the Obsidian Knives ([[spoiler:Jiro Inseki]]), Neroda ([[spoiler:Yuri Kuramochi]]), Kukulkan ([[spoiler:Misa Torizaki]]), Ecydsis ([[spoiler:Kouhei Hayami]]) and Leviathan ([[spoiler:Philip]]) As of #13, we have another serpent based deity by the name of Vasuki, [[spoiler: who is currently fused with an Urataros-possessed Shun.]] In the first intermission, we also have the Rainbow Serpent whose current avatar is [[spoiler: Mari Yamamoto]] while the second has King Damballa possessing [[spoiler: Shotaro.]]
* WhamEpisode:
** III [[MeaningfulName System Shock]] has this in twofold where the audience first sees how Gentaro became possessed by Ophiuchus, and then the audience learns that [[spoiler: Ryusei is a Core Child.]]
** VI Master Hand has [[spoiler: Jiro Inseki resurrected and now serving Gentaro.]]
** XI Team Spirit has [[spoiler: Ryusei kill Shun and Misa Torizaki already dead to cement the DarkerAndEdgier atmosphere of the story.]]
** XIII Web of Sin has [[spoiler: Shun saving JK from being killed by Ryusei...except since Shun was killed two chapters earlier, he's back as a ''Serpent-bearer!'']]
** Intermission-2 has [[spoiler: Ophiuchus brainwashing Philip, Philip killing Shotaro and then Shotaro resurrected by another Serpent known as Damballa]].

[[folder:Who Decides]]
%%* ArcWords: Combined with TitleDrop.
* ForegoneConclusion: Ryusei is going to kill Gentaro to save Jiro and cause the events of the other stories to occur. The extra chapter, ''Why Decide?'' states that he could've chosen a different path to save Jiro, but doesn't state the after effects it would cause.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: It's commonly noted that there are ''13'' Astronomical signs as opposed to twelve. Plus, Ryusei doesn't have recollection on a family or birthdays [[spoiler: foreshadowing that he's not actually human.]]
* FortuneTeller: Madame Pollux
* MeaningfulName: Madame Pollux is named after Pollux from the myth of Castor and Pollux. Coincidentally, Pollux is also the brightest star in Gemini's constellation, relating to below.
* TarotMotifs: The cards drawn by Ryusei are all of the Minor Arcana. His first card is the Inverted Six of Cups, the second is the upright Four of Coins and the last is the upright Nine of Rods.
* WesternZodiac: Ryusei is a Gemini in this story. He states that Mei is an Aquarius in ''Why Decide?''
* WhamEpisode: When Ryusei leaves the tent, it's revealed that Madame Pollux is [[spoiler: his best friend Mei Shirawkawa whose shift was supposed to end prior to his fortune reading. She was presumably possessed by a serpent.]]

* {{Foreshadowing}}: In the second chapter, Mei states to Ros and Guil, "I don't even know why I'm friends with you." A few chapters later, [[spoiler: it's revealed that they were hired by a rental company to be her friends, thus she doesn't know the true reason the three were 'friends' in the first place.]]
* TarotMotifs: Each chapter is named after a different tarot card along with their position, and Mei draws fortunes for different people involved. For example, Ryusei's future card was the upward Nine of Rods, while Gentaro had the inverted The Emperor. This represents Ryusei trying to defeat the obstacle in his way (Gentaro) and Gentaro following his heart to make Ryusei happy, rather than do something for his own benefit, causing [[ForWantOfANail everything that happens in the story.]]
* TemptingFate: In Chapter 9, Guil coerces Ros to let an old lady enter their apartment by saying, "She doesn't bite." [[spoiler: Said old lady is Renenutet in disguise and she swallows them whole.]]
* ThoseTwoGuys: Ros and Guil.
* WhamEpisode: Chapter 12 reveals [[spoiler: why Mei's parents were being such jerks--because apparently, Mei has some sort of psychokinesis which only works when she's under pressure and was needed for Mei's parents to inherit the family fortune. She asked Renenutet to erase herself from her grandfather's memory, no longer wanting to do anything with her family, and has decided to live alone. Oh, and she's also cousins to Yayoi Tokuda.]]
* WhamLine: Chapter 10: in-universe for Mei, considering that she hasn't caught up to the events in ''Horseshoes''.
-->'''Renenutet:''' That boy? I think you know his name, Serpent-bearer. The boy is simply known as Gentaro Kisaragi.
* TheXOfY
* YouCantFightFate: Mei's biggest struggle is trying to follow through what her Tarot spreads are foreshadowing and whether she should alter it or such. [[spoiler: She's later obtained the ability to manipulate the tarot spread to whatever she desires.]]

[[folder:[=SplitxEnd=]]]
* ADayInTheLimelight: Yayoi Tokuda stars in this one.
* BladeReflection: As stated by Yayoi in ''Split-12'':
-->"For a moment, I thought I could see the look of terror in my eyes in one of the blades."
* CallForward: Yayoi's pal on the forums goes by the name of [=KRSwan=]. In the 2nd Intermission of Horseshoes [[spoiler: we meet up with Kit and Maya looking up a website regarding the War of the Stars]].
* ChildhoodFriends: Yayoi and JK. Their friendship is so close that Yayoi is bunking with him while her parents are off on important business.
* CryIntoChest: Yayoi references that she did this once JK forgave her for her Coma Zodiarts business.
* CurbStompBattle: [[spoiler: Yayoi teleports herself to the Narumi Detective Agency to fight Damballa all with some new swords. Unfortunately, Damballa is a very old Serpent and she's a college student who just got the swords, thus Damballa drags her down to the ground with the [[GreenThumb Greensleeves]] spell and makes her attack useless.]]
* EarlyBirdCameo: Like ''Tears to Shed'', Yayoi meets up with [[Series/KamenRiderWizard Haruto]], but he's being accompanied by Koyomi this time.
* EasilyForgiven: JK forgave Yayoi for her stint as Coma Zodiarts and had no hard feelings.
* ExactWords: In the first episode of Fourze, Gentaro tells Yuki that he made a thousand friends in the span of ten years. [[spoiler: As Yayoi finds out from reading his journal, he never stated if most of them were ''alive'']].
* {{Foreshadowing}}: Koyomi's warnings for Yayoi were probably for [[spoiler: the Foundation X members kidnapping former Switchers in "A Month of Sundays". In Split-6, she was about to be kidnapped by Foundation X scientists when Haruto saved her just in time.]]
* FortuneTeller: Koyomi's outfit for Yayoi, although it resembles more of a gypsy than fortune teller.
* FourIsDeath: Yayoi states its significance when she fights against Mei. [[spoiler: Haruto is then killed paragraphs later with the fourth sword of the Four of Swords tarot card.]]
* HairContrastDuo: Dark-haired Yayoi to both light brown Haruto and JK. Yayoi's the researcher who openly admits that she can't fight and be of any use to the Kamen Rider Club while both Haruto and JK are Kamen Riders (Wizard and Gun Den-O) but are also {{Stepford Smiler}}s holding some very bad SurvivorGuilt baggage behind their cheery facades.
* HeroOfAnotherStory: Yayoi's adventures revolve uncovering the truth behind Gentaro Kisaragi and her relationship with JK and Haruto.
* HoldingHands: Haruto and Yayoi from time to time. Yayoi denies that this is a start of a relationship though.

* MythologyGag: When JK and Yayoi are having ''okonomiyaki'', JK tells about how Ryutaros possessed Ryotaro so he could arrest people that looked evil, which happened in ''Kamen Rider Den-O: Climax Deka''.
* NoodleIncident: "That incident" which is something that no one (Yayoi, JK and JK's father) talks about. It presumably relates to why JK's father ultimately gave up his rock-star career and as to why JK became such a KnowledgeBroker in the first place. [[spoiler: It's based on the death of JK's little sister and JK became a KnowledgeBroker because his father didn't know of the caretaker's sanity issues so that a tragedy like that could never happen again.]]
* NotSoDifferentRemark: Sonada tries using this card with Satonaka as they both are loyal to their bosses. [[ShutUpHannibal Satonaka proceeds to slam her head into the Den-Liner's window. Repeatedly.]]
* PrecisionFStrike: JK does this when describing Yamada Tatsumori. Ryutaros lampshades this by mentioning how JK swore.
-->"And now we're [The Kamen Rider Club] about to see the world end thanks to some ''mother fucking'' sociopath who treats everyone like Rosencrantz and Guildenstern!"
* ReflectiveEyes: Commented by Yayoi when she's seeing eye to eye with Renenutet.
* RescueRomance: Haruto saving Yayoi in ''Split-6'' seems to play off this. Yayoi notes that she shouldn't be mixing up Haruto saving her as an act of true love, though.
* ShipTease: Haruto and Yayoi, especially in the ninth chapter.
* ThemeNaming: Kisaragi means "February", and Yayoi means "March" representing how Yayoi is chasing after Gentaro's past.
* TitleDrop: The title comes from Yayoi's username on the forums.

[[folder:Imagine Dragons]]
* AdaptationExpansion: There's more characterization for Haruto shown here than in his home series.
* AnachronicOrder: Just like ''Tears to Shed'', the chapters go back and forth with Haruto's mindset.
* HiddenDepths: Haruto is shown to be a bit shy and aside from his calm persona, he also shows fear and confusion over the turn of events with Gentaro and him slowly falling in love with Yayoi.

##Friendship

* BookEnds: Tears-1 has Gentaro leave his parents' grave after drying his tears. [[spoiler: Tears-10 has him leaving his parents' spirits, but he no longer has any tears.]]
* EarlyBirdCameo: Tears-8 has Gentaro pass by the [[Series/KamenRiderWizard Donut Shop Hungry food truck]] and accidentally mistaken for Haruto (due to him using the Pictor spell to hide his identity). Just after Gentaro leaves, Haruto himself appears.
* PerspectiveFlip: Some of the chapters takes place in Gentaro's perspective of the story. Notably, Tears-5 reveals that [[spoiler: ''he'' was the serpent that sent Kengo to the hospital way back in II Genesis of the original story.]]
* TakeThat: When Gentaro meets up with the Donut Shop Hungry Manager, being mistaken for Haruto, the manager asks why 'Haruto' always gets the sugar donuts. Gentaro gives a [[DeadpanSnarker snarky reply]] in his mind suggesting that Haruto doesn't really have that much character depth.

** Anamnesis is a name of a Greek Philosophy where one tries to obtain the knowledge of their past lives.

Not bad.

* HeroOfAnotherStory: Takes place during the second half of the Kyoto Arc in "Horseshoes and Hand-grenades" starting around its second Intermission.
