''[[http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4221353/1/Kingdom-Hearts-III-Brotherhood-of-Dark Kingdom Hearts III: Brotherhood of Dark]]'' is a ''Franchise/KingdomHearts'' fanfiction written by Darth Kingdom and is one of several post ''VideoGame/KingdomHeartsII'' pre-days works.

The story follows Sora, Riku, and Kairi shortly after the events at the end of ''VideoGame/KingdomHeartsII'' and progress to them and their TrueCompanions going from world to world battling a group called (suprise, suprise) the brotherhood of dark, who have taken control of both, TheHeartless and Nobodies.

The story, as it stands, has over 130 chapters.

!!This fanfic contains examples of:

* ActionGirl: Kairi, Yuffie, and Bariss, duh!
* AlasPoorVillain: [[spoiler: Marluxia.]]
** Also [[spoiler: Demyx.]]
* AlternateUniverse: As this was written long before any game after ''VideoGame/KingdomHeartsII'', Xehanort makes no appearances outside of a dream sequence and flashbacks.
* AuthorAvatar: The author actually writes himself into agrabah in order to prevent axel from giving away what The Oracle told Nehrut.
** The avatar also admits that Nehrut was an author avatar as well, trying to create a character that was the best of the author.
* AvengersAssemble: After victory in Radiant Garden, Yen Sid proposes a gathering of all known heroes of the worlds in order to launch a final assault on the brotherhood.
* BagOfSpilling: Averted. While Sora, Kairi and Riku start slow fighting their enemies, their skills are still formidable and no ResetButton used.
* BetaCouple: Yuffie and Riku, as well as Nehrut and Bariss, serve as this.
* BigBad: Serndask, leader of the Brotherhood.
* BigGood: Yen-sid, obviously.
* BrainBleach: Apparently, Riku had a dream about Maleficent and Jafar doing the tango. Yikes.
* BreakingTheFourthWall: Agrabah features quite a bit of this, with the Genie going all meta on the readers. It gets so bad that the author writes himself in as a booming voice telling genie to keep it to a minimum.
* BreatherEpisode: ''WesternAnimation/TheRoadToElDorado'' on the whole features very little fighting or conflict, mostly following the story with only 3 fights in the whole world.
* CainAndAbel: Nehrut's nobody younger brother Xaynew is the Cain to his Abel. In fact, he was the one responsible for opening his world to the heartless.
* ChristmasEpisode: The technically Non-canon Christmas at the garden. Even when they visit christmas town, they don't really have christmas anywhere.
* DeadFic: Sadly, not updated since 2013.
* {{Doorstopper}}: At 136 chapters and 476,753 words, you'd better believe it!
* DeusExMachina: Some of the actions taken in the fic can be a little bit of a stretch, without a whole lot of foreshadowing. Things like the dives to the heart and new members can be excused, but when you have moments like [[spoiler: Roxas and Namine gaining bodies from a residual blast of darkness from Syndrome, the summons gaining their own consciousness and the power of Infinity]], you can't help but see those things as a bit of a stretch.
* DisneyDeath: Nehrut almost has this as a RunningGag, as he comes close to death twice.
* EvilCounterpart: Ruxik, Riku's nobody and evil keyblade wielder.
** Also, Xaynew. Nehrut's nobody brother.
* FireForgedFriends: Sora was a bit wary of Nehrut and Bariss going forward, but thanks to them helping to fight the bad guys, he warmed up to them.
* ForcedIntoEvil: Bariss lost her parents to Xehanort's first attacks and was picked up by the brotherhood.
** Xyran was imprisoned by Marluxia, and is forced into brotherhood service to keep the person he used to care about safe.
* GatlingGood: Barret Wallace of VideoGame/FinalFantasyVII makes an appearance.
* HeroicWillpower: A standard of the team.
* IdiotBall: Played straight, subverted, then somewhat invoked by Nehrut when he doesn't use his telekinesis to [[spoiler: to immediately steal back Trident's trident, and then, you know, does, before questioning why he didn't do that from the start.]]
* IfYouEverDoAnythingToHurtHer: Kairi's dad gave one of these to Sora.
* LampshadeHanging: See IdiotBall above.
* LegionOfDoom: The brotherhood of evil. Lead by the mysterious Sendask, in control of heartless, nobodies, and even some of the old Organization XIII.
* MegaCrossover: Includes not just Disney and Square Enix characters, but also includes cameos/guest appearances from ComicBook/SpiderMan, Franchise/{{Batman}}, VideoGame/SlyCooper, VideoGame/RachetAndClank, WesternAnimation/FamilyGuy, Franchise/StarWars, WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender, Franchise/SpyroTheDragon, VideoGame/AssassinsCreedI, Franchise/SonicTheHedgehog and Franchise/SuperMarioBros just to name a few.
* MusicalEpisode: Atlantica is half this, half a serious episode.
* NightmareSequence: Sora has one of these about Xehanort killing everyone he loves, leading to a 'cheer up' speech by Jack Sparrow and Mickey.
* OriginalCharacter: Several. Nehrut and Bariss for the good guys. A whole host of nobodies and other bad guys.
* PlotHole: When [[spoiler: Nehrut is run through by Sephiroth, Aerith's spirit saves him.]] Thing is, she's alive, so couldn't have been there to [[spoiler: save him.]] Though it could just be a form of magical projection, since it's not fully explained in the story aside from her being "more powerful than you think".
* QuirkyMiniBossSquad: Shego, Randall, and Syndrome serve as this, for a chapter or two, that is.
* TokenGoodTeammate: Xyran and Cossex. Their memories of past lives have them lead to be almost tragic characters in that they were trying to be heroic in past lives. (Cossex was. Xyran was more trying to be a good servant until he rebelled from stealing Sora's powers the 1st time he went to agrabah)
* TookALevelInBadass: Sora, Riku, and Kairi, all via [[spoiler: a platform sequence.]]
* VillainTeamUp: Usually 1 per world, assuming that the participant isn't already in the brotherhood. Of course, considering they sometimes bring their organization member with them, it could still count.
* WillTheyOrWontThey: Nehrut and Bariss. [[spoiler: they do.]]
* WarriorPrince: [[spoiler: Nehrut.]]
* WarriorTherapist: They all help each other through their problems.
* WholePlotReference: The Agrabah adventure in this fic takes its cues directly from ''WesternAnimation/AladdinAndTheKingOfThieves''.
