Spoilers to the previous fic by this author.

[[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/10453528/1 Young Justice Titans]] Angelus-v1's second continuation fic of the series ''WesternAnimation/YoungJustice2010''. A sequel to both the series and his original fic ''Fanfic/YoungJusticeDarknessFalls''.

A year after the defeat of ComicBook/{{Darkseid}} (roughly), the Justice League is now at its strongest, with new members of the team, and good relations with the people of Earth again. And also of note is that a part of the old guard decided to form their own team: [[ComicBook/TeenTitans The Titans.]] Lead by the (now married) Mrs. Martian and Superboy, its junior members include Beast Boy, Raven, Arrowette, and [[ComicBook/GreenLantern Kyle Rayner]]. However, despite their glorious position, not all is well on Earth. [[NebulousEvilOrganization The Light]] is still not beaten yet, and their defacto leader has plans for the Light's endgame. Yet more sinister than even the Light's secrets is the rise of [[ChurchOfEvil the church of blood]]. A mysterious organization just as ruthless as the Light with world shattering plans. It will take every titanic hero of Earth to stop the threats this year brings against the Justice League.

Spoilers for anyone who hasn't watched ''WesternAnimation/YoungJustice2010'' or read the previous fic.

Now with an "epilogue" fic of sorts: [[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/11636398/1/Young-Justice-Thanksgiving Young Justice Thanksgiving]].

!!This fanfic contains examples of the following tropes:
* ActionGirl: All the female superheroes. Of note among the new arrivals are Arrowette and Raven (formally)
* ActionMom: Artemis and M'gann.
* AdaptationalBadass: The Scarecrow somehow got turned into a real scarecrow by The Blood Church. Because of this now, he can move his muscles in inhuman ways, and is actually quite limber with both his needle hands, and his scythe. The fact that he seems to be indestructible and incapable of taking real damage makes him far more dangerous than Jonathan Crane was in comics.
* AdaptationalHeroism: Orca. In comics, she's a student who went crazy when she injected herself with Orca DNA to fight Batman. Here, while she's still kinda pushy with mood swings, she's an Atlantean citizen, and shows no villainous instinct overall.
** Due to 2 different comic continuities, Terra has this zigzagged. She's not pure evil like her first appearance from The Judas Contract, but she's roughly the same when compared with The New 52.
* AdaptationalWimp: Lilith Clay (Omen) has no offensive skills when she was introduced. She was just a girl kidnapped by the bloods who somehow gained nightmarish visions of Trigon through touching others. Without her precognition of near term events, this does make her quite a bit weaker, and it took her [[spoiler: dying and turning evil]] to get that. Whether she has powers at the end is not clear.
%% * AffablyEvil: Lex.
* AlienInvasion: Referenced when Starfire's sister Blackfire comes to earth. The league and humanity is getting tired of there being so many of them these days.
* AllJustADream: Episode 9: Fear Itself. It's remarkably similar to Failsafe in that regard, but in a different flavor.
* AllMythsAreTrue: In his author notes, Angelus-v1 sets out what he considers the hierarchy of divinity and truth in his DC universe. At TopGod he puts the monotheistic God (presumably Judeo-Christian since Jesus makes a non-named mention by a character later on). Then there's Mythic gods such as the Greek gods (which several heroes worship or draw power from). And finally, physical Gods...or godlike beings that need a physical body to interact. (he puts Lords of Order/Chaos, Darkseid and Trigon as technically being part of this level)
* AllThereInTheManual: Besides the regular story, the author also creates illustrations and profiles for each of the titans, helping to detail anything that's glossed over in the fic, while also giving the proper origin of Arrowette.
* AmplifierArtifact: A Chakra. Used by Azerathians, it helps them focus their magic for casting spells, and can be passed between individuals, though not by conventional means. (Chakras are embedded in the user's skin)
* AntiVillain: Defied. Despite putting on an act for her sister at one point, Blackfire's too much of a {{Jerkass}} to be one.
* AnyoneCanDie: The beginning of the ending arc evokes this, with several prominent league and team members getting taken down and possessed in the [[spoiler: Blood's]] endgame.
* ArcVillain: Blackfire is generally unaffiliated with the other villains, so her main appearances tie into Starfire's character arc rather than being a part of the light or the bloods.
* AwesomeMomentOfCrowning: While technically not the hero of the story, Starfire does get this treatment thanks to her defeat of her sister, winning back the throne legitimately.
* BackForTheDead: After a 2 season absence, the Riddler is shown outside of prison again, just to have him killed.
* BadFuture: Whatever Lilith is seeing when she touches others is this, as it's a world where Trigon rules supreme.
* BadassFamily: The Team and the Titans might count as an extended one, but a more literal example ends up being the Super-Martian family and the Flash-arrow family.
** In the Super-Martian family, you have the man of steel, his clone "brother" and their LongLostRelative cousin on one side of the family, while on the other you have the Martian Manhunter, his niece and her blood/adopted brother, and now, there's even a baby: Carter Kent.
** In the Flash-Arrow family, you have the couple that unites them: Artemis and Wally, who also have a daughter who's already showing speedster powers. On Wally's side, you have the Flash family which he's related to by blood, legacy and powers, including his distant cousin from the future. On Artemis's side, you have her evil sibling and father, along with her retired mom, but through her brother in law, he also has his original genetic "parent", his adopted father Green Arrow and his wife Black Canary.
* BigBadEnsemble: The Light and The Church of Blood both have plans, but it's yet to be seen if the Bloods are just another pawn of the lights. Regardless, the blood church is much more TheHeavy.
* BigDamnHeroes: Sphere, flying in to save M'gann and Conner from Lex Luthor.
* BlackSheep: Raven finds out that she's the BlackSheep of her family among her siblings. Apparently, all of Trigon's previous kids were sons, and all supported Dad in his conquests. Raven by contrast was his first daughter, and became determined to have nothing to do with him, even fighting against him when he invaded Earth Realm.
* BloodlessCarnage: Averted. While it's mostly bludgeoning that goes on in the fights, gashes, scars, scratches and cuts are all part of the injuries received in battle.
* BoxingLessonsForSuperman: Frequently used by both Titans who need it. Both Arrowette and Raven take this one, because they want to be ready to fight in close quarters as well as at a distance.
* TheBrute: ComicBook/GreenLantern Kyle Rayner (though he also has elements of TheLancer), since he has skill and power, but lacks compassion and humility to take on a leadership role.
* CallBack: Greta (AKA Secret) gets a reference this season too, with M'gann using it stealthily as their way of proving that the supernatural exists.
* TheCameo: The beginning of episode 14 has the casts of ''WesternAnimation/GreenLanternTheAnimatedSeries'' cameo for Kyle's training, with Kilowog, Razer, Aya and Guy Gardner all showing up.
** Then in Against the wall, we have 1 in person cameo, and several unseen cameos. John Constantine visits his girlfriend Zatanna at work, but he mentions an incident where Red Hood and the Outlaws (who aside from Red X have been absent this season) attacked none other than John's friend ComicBook/SwampThing. They did so after they'd fought [[Characters/GreenLantern1941 Solomon Grundy]], and went after "Alec" on the orders of his enemy Anton Arcane.
* CanonForeigner: Although in general, the author keeps to the mantra of "best of the DCU revised" that was set up in Young Justice, one spin on the universe that's fully original is Superboy and Mrs. Martian's son: Carter Kent.
** There's also the mid-level gang leader Bone Daddy that's not based on any preexisting characters aside from a few movie villains from Batman Forever, but the author wanted someone to tie in with the bloods, but couldn't think of any good Gotham villains that would make a natural fit.
* CastFromHitpoints: In the author's notes, Angelus-V1 mentions that he sees this as a consistent problem both Zatanna and Raven have to deal with as magic users. That the energy they use has to come from somewhere, and hence why they needed practice to focus and meditation to keep their energy up.
* ChallengingTheChief: In order to properly save her friends and free her people, Starfire does a version of this with her sister. Though technically, it's a rematch of the battle they had years before when Star lost the throne the first time.
* ChekhovsGun:
** The X binder Red X gave Starfire after Darkseid's invasion turns out to be useful in her fight for the throne of Tameran.
** Control Freak's remote. An ordinary souvenir becomes the means through which some kidnappers can escape.
** Sphere's emergency caller. While only mentioned in passing, it becomes a crucial step in [[spoiler: Carter's rescue]].
* TheChessmaster: Luthor, who's being very meticulous about keeping the Light in shadow while it moves towards its "endgame".
* ChurchOfEvil: The Church of Blood, whose entire purpose is to capture and kill in order to bring Trigon to Earth. Scarily, they're actually more effective than The Light in this sense, as they're able to carry out operations without having to resort to deception.
* CoDragons: While Silver Banshee was field general for Trigon out in Jump City (and retained her free will), [[spoiler: Lilith Clay possessed]] seems to serve as leader of Trigon's forces near [[spoiler: Titan's Tower]].
* CompletedFic: It's done. While the author has floated the idea of doing other fics, this is now the most complete part of their ongoing exploration of Young Justice.
* CompositeCharacter: Josh Corbin AKA Metallo also has some elements of The Kryptonite Man to how he uses his weaponry.
* ContinuityNod: Plenty to the first 3 seasons.
* {{Crossover}}: Possibly one with ComicBook/TeenTitans, though not in the purest sense. Several heroes and villains from the Titans cartoon are part of this fic, from Starfire to Raven, and the fact that the bigger bad is Trigon makes the whole thing feel a bit like it's lifted from season 4 of Teen Titans at times. Still, the story's different enough that you don't mind too much.
* CruelToBeKind: Kaldur is patient, caring and sympathetic towards Lilith for the most part. However, when she refuses to share what she sees in her "prophetic visions", he forces her to relive those visions in a form of a JackBauerInterrogationTechnique in order to fully get the information he wanted.
* DarkActionGirl: Silver Banshee, Blackfire.
* DarkerAndEdgier: The fic invokes this from the beginning with its SeriesEstablishingMoment.
* DarkestHour: Silver Banshee threatens to kill all the civilians of Jump City if the remaining Leaguers don't surrender, [[spoiler: Trigon knows about the Titans and so knows they are coming for them,]] and they still can't get reinforcements in.
%%zce* Day In The Limelight
%%zce** Family: Starfire and Supergirl.
%%zce** Like Father: Damian
%%zce* Deadpan Snarker:
%%zce** Raven, very much.
%%zce** Blue Beetle gets some good lines in as well.
* DemotedToExtra: Wally and Artemis in general are NOT part of the story aside from some minor contributions in the beginning. Then again, of the original 6, they have the least reason to be in the story, as they're both in semi-retirement raising their daughter with no intention to come back.
* DownerBeginning: The death of Kid Devil begins season 4.
* DownerEnding: 524. A simple patrol night by some of The Team turns into a tragedy, when at the end of the night, Brother Blood kills [[spoiler: Vibe]] and finds out where the league is hiding Lilith.
** Blue to Red. After a month of trouble, everything changes, and the league loses. That's right, they fail to prevent [[spoiler: Trigon's arrival]], and the Titans are forced to retreat in disgrace to save their own lives.
* TheDragon: Silver Banshee seems to take on this role for the bloods.
** Metallo also takes on this role for Lex Luthor due to his previous dragon Mercy [[spoiler: giving birth to Project Nightstar.]]
* DroppedABridgeOnHim: While most of the people who die are too minor or well built up for their deaths, the sudden deaths of [[spoiler: Blue Beetle, Cyborg, Nightwing, Guardian, Bumblebee, Wonder Girl, Mrs. Martian and Superboy]] in so short a time can be either horrifying, or unsatisfying. Especially since some of those deaths happen off screen.
* DyingMomentOfAwesome: [[spoiler: Kalduramn's last stand.]] Death after fighting 2 blood cult members just to save Lilith.
* EarlyBirdCameo: It turns out that the team from the future Impulse saw was actually an early bird cameo. Over the course of this fic, the fourth Robin, Stargirl, Hawk and Dove (the brother and sister duo), Arrowette, Cassandra Cain's Batgirl and Kyle Rayner all show up at different times.
* EarnYourHappyEnding: This time, it's the Titans who earn it. Different Titans had memories wiped, their fellowship broken up due to bad behavior, guilt, losing mentors, near death experiences, confronting personal demons and going in outnumbered and outgunned all just to save their home from evil. When they lie down near the end of the fic, you know they fought tooth and nail to get that privilege.
** Rachel Roth (Raven) especially gets her happy ending. Notwithstanding what happened to Rachel last year, this year she had to confront her past, face her demons, come to terms with her perceived parental abandonment, nearly lose her life, and attempt a heroic sacrifice, all just to save her new family and earn [[spoiler: a boyfriend]] and a better life.
* ElaborateUndergroundBase: The Batcaves. They also recreated the base under the wreckage of Mount Justice as well.
* EleventhHourRanger: To help in the final battle against the bloods, Bart did some recruiting in his spare time and brings them in for their final assault: Hawk, Dove, Stargirl and Jericho. (though to be fair, we'd seen the first 3 in the BadFuture last season)
%%zce* The Empath: Raven.
* EnsembleCast: Nobody is the main character here. Though Aqualad, Beast Boy, Robin and Raven get a lot of focus, we also have Starfire focus episodes as well.
* EvilMakeover: After being [[spoiler:killed and possessed by Trigon]], Lilith gets one of these. While she looked normal in the fic before this, her new evil look has her going full evil dominatrix in her look to fit her serving evil motif.
%%zce* Faux Affably Evil: Queen Bee is still rather intimidating thanks to this.
* FightOffTheKryptonite: Superboy has to do this literally during August 25's craziness. First from fighting [[spoiler: Ravager]] and second from fighting [[spoiler:Metallo]].
* FirstKiss:
** Raven's first kiss is a culmination of her soul searching on who she wants to be for others, and before she goes into work mode to stop her evil father, she plants one on Beast Boy, then makes him swear not to tell anyone about it. Gar for his part doesn't mind, as it just confirmed for him that they like like each other.
** Then Lilith gets one too from [[spoiler: Kalduramn]], finally showing how much he truly cared about her.
* FlatEarthAtheist: Lagoon Boy has some...issues with the diversity of religious practices and even aliens claiming to be Gods, and so has come to be skeptical of them all. Though to be fair, this is something akin to what some writers think Batman has as a religious view.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: In perhaps the most throwaway foreshadowing of the fic, Catwoman at one point said she and batman were going after, "that one-eyed girl and her friend". It could be seen as a throwaway line to explain what Batman was doing that night, but it's only 3 episodes later that we find out just who that girl and her friend were, and they do something VERY bad.
* GameBreakingInjury: Batgirl is still stuck in a wheelchair as The Oracle, but although she can't move as fast anymore, she can still throw, and is working to upgrade her chair as well.
* GreaterScopeVillain: Trigon. The bloods are trying to bring him back, and he's the motive for all their actions.
* HappilyMarried: Since the author continues the trajectory of the show with the optimism from the last fic, we have 4 happily married couples: Conner and M'gann, Wally and Artemis, Mal and Karen and...over the timeskip, Clark and Lois are all married and all doing well together.
* HatesBeingTouched: Lilith, and for good reason. When she does, she sees omens for the people she's in contact with.
* HeroOfAnotherStory: John Constantine and Swamp Thing. Both are dealing with their own villains and problems, and clearly have a story how a nature spirit became friends with a demon hunter, but we don't get to see it because this is the general league's story rather than theirs.
* HostageSituation: From Spittin' Fire. Thankfully, Artemis and Wally manage to save them.
* JesusWasWayCool: Constantine says that he actually ran into "a certain carpenter" one time he died, and actually found him quite comforting to be around before he came back.
* KarmaHoudini: The Light's leadership is nearly dismantled in the fic proper, but there remains one frustrating outlier to this: Ra's Al Gul. While his plot to have [[spoiler: Damian kill Batman]] was foiled, he generally continues to lead The League of Shadows unhindered by the end of the fic.
** In addition, aside from being knocked about, the light's new enforcers Ravager and Scandal Savage don't even get imprisoned for their implications in breaking, entering and [[spoiler: child kidnapping]].
* KilledOffForReal: Kid Devil, The Riddler, [[spoiler: Vibe, Aqualad, Queen Bee, Blue Beetle, Cyborg, Static, Wonder Girl, Lilith Clay, Mrs. Martian, Superboy]]. Although most of these end up being not permanent.
* LargeHam: Control Freak.
* LaughablyEvil: Control Freak as well.
* TheLeader: Beast Boy is handed the reigns of the Titans in the field, due to him being a type II mixed with some type IV.
* LegacyCharacter: It seems that Damian Wayne has been moved back into Bruce Wayne's life, so he's now a new Robin in training.
** Then there's Cassandra Cain, who takes up the Batgirl mantle as well.
** In a EvilCounterpart version, 2 of The Light's new enforcers are Scandal Savage and Rose Wilson (AKA Ravager), the daughters of Vandal Savage and Deathstroke.
* LensmanArmsRace: In the war with the Light, the League in general had remained relatively hands off in trying to get a stronger arsenal against the Light. However, after the attack by Darkseid, the League begins to use more technology for strategic purposes. New sensors and defenses for the revamped watchtower, they start using a personal teleporter modified from the one they found on Despero's ship to get places faster, and they start making their own boom tube generators for faster and more flexible interstellar travel.
* LetsYouAndHimFight: In a variation, since several heroes are taken over by the Bloods, they end up in fights with other heroes in the process.
* LighterAndSofter: ComicBook/JohnConstantine is surprisingly optimistic and calm compared with some of his more cynical portrayals in other media.
* LockedOutOfTheFight: When [[spoiler: Trigon touches down]], he creates a red dome of pure magic over Jump City. Due to having pseudo-divine force behind it, any person outside the field when it went up was locked out, and anyone inside was locked in. (the only exception being Dr. Fate, as he has enough power to teleport in and out at his will) And what's worse, the dome kept expanding as [[spoiler: Trigon's]] power grew in Earth Realm.
* LonelyRichKid: Surprisingly, L'gann fits this now. Though he's technically not a kid anymore, he's now an underwater millionaire. However, he's still a bit bitter over what happened 2 years ago with Mrs. Martian and Superboy, and is stuck in a relationship with Orca that he's not entirely appreciative of.
* LoveInterest: From the start, there was hints that Kaldur might be getting attached to Lilith.
** And now, Kyle Rayner is crushing on Cassandra Cain too.
* LoveTriangle: Beast Boy had a puppy love crush on Raven since last year, and Raven is at least appreciative of him, but she doesn't think she can love him properly. However, Beast Boy and Terra have similar personalities, and bonded over their love of silly things, and Terra pretty clearly is crushing on him and jealous of Raven drawing attention. The feeling is mutual between them.
* ManOfKryptonite: Metallo makes a return to this series, and as long as his chest is open or he's using his weaponry.
* TheMentor: Mrs. Martian and Superboy for the titans, the trinity (batman, wonder woman and superman) for the league in general, though really the justice league as a whole still acts as this for the younger heroes regardless of who they are.
* MentorOccupationalHazard: This happens 3 times for the titans. First with [[spoiler: Batman]] as an overall mentor being taken over, and then [[spoiler: Superboy and Mrs. Martian]] dying trying to protect them.
* MissionControl: Oracle and Cyborg seem to have taken up this mantle now.
* TheMole: Yet again, there's another one, only for a much more subtle purpose: [[spoiler: Terra was manipulated into being outgoing and constantly checking security, because she was used by Queen Bee to get information on Titans Tower for Ravager and Scandal's infiltration.]]
* [[DaddyHadAGoodReasonForAbandoningYou Mommy Had A Good Reason To Abandon You]]: Well, Rachel's parents were a work. Her dad she literally couldn't be with due to him being pure evil. And her mom got stuck [[spoiler: on Azerath]], meaning she couldn't leave that realm without withering away to nothing. So Angela had to give Raven her best chance by sending her to Earth alone.
* MoodWhiplash: From the horror of watching a superhero get murdered to the Titans's first mission against Mad Mod.
** Then, there's the brief moment in the middle of Jump the Shark which is really silly, but also features the brutal ON Screen murder of SelfDemonstratingArticle/TheRiddler.
* MythologyGag: Arrowette in this continuity wears pants, so she comments that she "wouldn't be caught dead fighting crime in a frilly skirt.
** When the ComicBook/TeenTitans go for a talk with reporters on their name, they end up breaking one of Weisman's rules on the show. Namely, a name for the team thrown around included [[TitleDrop Young Justice]].
** While we don't get to see it on screen, apparently on their first date, Blue Beetle and Wonder Girl went for ice cream and ended up having to fight [[ComicBook/{{Batman}} The Ventriloquist]] instead.
** Arrowette standing up to the Justice League over their way of doing things? Yeah, that was actually a moment in the original ComicBook/YoungJustice comic.
** When the team and titans are restructured, the titans are given a similar roster to [[WesternAnimation/TeenTitans that other cartoon about them]], only with Tim Drake as leader rather than Dick Grayson.
* NotHisSled: Readers were at least suspicious when Terra was introduced into the fic, given her history before the new 52 as being evil or at least a villain by choice. Well, [[spoiler: she is a mole again, but this time not even by choice, making her far more sympathetic.]]
* NotQuiteDead: Those killed by the Bloods technically aren't dead. Rather, they're [[spoiler: possessed]], and through use of energy shots, capable of regaining their own minds.
** And once [[spoiler: Trigon]] is banished from Earth, those possessed by him directly are then brought back, even some losing their demonic powers in the process.
* OfficialCouple: Guardian and Bumblebee, Wonder Girl and Blue Beetle, Superboy and Miss Martian, Wally and Artemis along with Superman and Lois.
* TheOmnipotent: Raven claims Trigon to have a version of this. Practically speaking, he's powered by the suffering of multiple dimensions and the will of his kids, and much more powerful than even Darkseid. Although he does have an AchillesHeel: he can't stay in a realm unless invited, and even then he can't stay if the majicks that brought him there are removed from him.
* OutOfFocus: Too many to count, due to it being an ensemble cast.
** More specifically though, the light wasn't making too many moves...until Rogue Mission.
** Nightwing also has a lot less to do compared with earlier seasons.
* PlotTriggeringDeath: Kid Devil's death sets the League's investigation of the Blood Cult/Church into motion.
* ThePollyanna: Surprisingly, John Constantine. While he does get irritated that the more visible superheroes don't appreciate his work as much, he generally has great hope for the future, even in the middle of a demonic invasion. He even takes time to tell his girlfriend Zatanna that he'd pick her up for a date afterwards, so certain he is of Earth's survival.
* PowerTrio: Several try to crop up. One is out of focus, and has Supergirl, Wondergirl and Oracle, while another, with Vibe, Kid Devil and Tim Drake [[spoiler: ended in the the death of the two former members.]]
** Then there's Beast Boy, Terra and Raven's power trio. Terra's the Id with more straight forward impulsive actions, Raven's the superego by being far more meditative and deliberate, and Beast Boy's the Ego who mediates between them for the best course of action.
* ThePromise: Beast Boy mentions to Queen Bee that, "I promised my mother I would make you pay for killing her. And I intend to keep that promise." [[spoiler: He does, though on accident.]]
* TheProphecy: For Beast Boy and Raven. "One shall become what they were born to be. The other shall become what they were raised to be." Made last season, it now comes back in full force.
** Also, the Bloods are looking for 5 sacrifices to release Trigon. The smart fool, the one who sees through touch, one who celebrates life through movement, one who hides light under darkness, and one who has good under evil.
* TheProtagonist: While Beast Boy might be The Hero, Raven is much more the protagonist, as her journey, growth, challenges and dangers are much more central to the story than Garfield really is in the same way.
* ProudWarriorRaceGuy: Played with. Tameran as seen through Starfire and Blackfire are definitely warriors, but when we actually arrive on the planet, we learn that Blackfire has been suppressing other forms of culture in the interest of military expansionism.
* RelationshipUpgrade: No Time does this for Beast Boy and Raven, while Go gives this for [[spoiler: Kaldur and Lilith]].
* RememberTheNewGuy: Kid Devil's death is treated very solemnly, despite the fact that we never see him in the fic prior to his death.
* RetiredBadass: Wally and Artemis are technically retired from superheroing, but they're only semiretired, and both can still fight as well as they did in their youth.
* {{Revenge}}: Since they all work for a Justice League, Batman assembles the leaders of all the teams, telling them that even though the bloods killed one of their own, it's important nobody on the team takes this path in dealing with them.
* RoguesGalleryTransplant: This is a given thanks to the structure of Young Justice, but more specifically, the first supervillain the younger ComicBook/TeenTitans fight is the Scarecrow.
** And then they fight Killer Croc later on.
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: This was Starfire's status technically from the time she arrived on earth. Though she was a princess in exile, she was still a princess. Then after she wins the throne from Blackfire, she becomes this formally since she wanted to help earth before taking over full time on Tameran.
* SacrificialLamb: It seems Kid Devil only exists to begin the story's mystery.
* SecondLove: Lilith for Kaldur. It was even laid out in the stars when Conner mentioned that Kaldur hadn't been the same since he lost Tula.
* SeriesEstablishingMoment: The Prologue quickly establishes the DarkerAndEdgier tone of this season with the death of a superhero right off the bat.
* ShoutOut: Once again, earth's culture gets a lot of references.
** ''WesternAnimation/{{Gargoyles}}'' gets a reference as a show being watched by Paula and Isis.
** ''Series/DoctorWho'' and ComicBook/SpiderMan both get referenced by Control Freak, as well as ''Series/BreakingBad'' and ''Film/TheMatrix''.
*** Freak also sends the Team into an alternate dimension inside TV shows, so that they end up on ''Series/TheBigBangTheory'', ''Series/DancingWithTheStars'', ''Series/TheWalkingDead'', ''Series/GilligansIsland'' and wrestling.
** During Exam, there's several references to ''Franchise/StarWars'' (with a disturbance in the force).
** Since Metallo makes it so easy, Conner refers to him as "A Kryptonite Franchise/{{Terminator}}".
* TheSixthRanger: Terra. Rescued by the Bloods in "episode" 4, she later joins the Titans full time.
* SlaveToPR: A minor example, but one time when Beast Boy got a visit from Queen Bee after some superheroics, one reason why he couldn't refuse to meet her is because, "It's good for PR." In fact, this was part of what Bee taunted Garfield with: That now that he's a public hero, he'll have much further to fall later on.
* TheSmartGuy: Raven. Not so much because she's more intelligent, but she does have unique skills among the titans thanks to her magic.
* SpotlightStealingSquad: There could be a serious argument for The Titans collectively having this as a lot of the old guard doesn't get as much focus.
* StepfordSmiler: Starfire. Cheerful, naive, with a strong warrior past...which is a result of having her throne stolen by her sister Blackfire who then exiled her from Tameran.
* StormingTheCastle: Oddly enough, invoked in Episode 4: Rain, where Wondergirl and ComicBook/BlueBeetle contemplate attacking the central blood temple as payback for Kid Devil's death.
* StoryBreakerPower: Invoked. According to WordOfGod, this is precisely why he held off on using Lilith's powers when she's the superheroine Omen. As we see at the very end of the fic, when her foresight powers are used to their fullest, she's simply unbeatable and required a SuperMode of magic just to take her down.
* TeamDad: Superboy, though he's also a real dad as well.
* TeamMom: Mrs. Martian for the titans, though she's also a real mother as well.
* TimeSkip: Since this is YJ, this happens all the time in smaller increments, but there's a slight time skip from the end of the last fic, wherein lots of things happened around the world, including Clark and Lois finally getting married.
* VaguenessIsComing: Invoked by Lilith foreshadowing the coming of Trigon.
* VillainBall: Why would the Bloods ever take prisoners when their sacrifices they normally kill on the spot?
* VillainExitStageLeft: Silver Banshee's escape the first time she was fought.
* WhamEpisode: 524. A patrol night to search for clues leads to the death of [[spoiler: Vibe]], and the first on screen appearance of the leader of the church of blood: Brother Blood.
** Rouge Mission. After a quiet return in triumph from Blackfire's defeat, things REALLY get going and a lot of big things happen. [[spoiler: Lex Luthor begins his predicted campaign for president, Kaldur dies fighting the bloods, Lilith is kidnapped again, and Carter's inevitable kidnapping for Lex Luthor happened at the hands of Ravager and Scandal. Then, during a mission for information, the titans find out that Terra was a mole on accident for the two kidnappers, also connecting The Light to The Bloods. Beast Boy also unleashes his "The Beast" side for the first time, while we also see Psymon return after a season long absence, stronger than ever, hinted at having upgrades just like Queen Bee, possibly from the bloods. In the end though, Psymon and Metallo (who tried to kill Conner) are defeated, Ravager and Scandal are knocked out, Queen Bee was HoistByYourOwnPetard by electrocuting herself, and surprisingly, Carter is rescued. Terra manages to hold onto some of her memories, but doesn't think she loves beast boy anymore, and in retribution for the night, Conner and M'gann break one of Lex's legs, and traps him in bad memories. However, in his coma, Lex triggers a chip, where we find out where Mercy has been all season: She's the host mother for Project Nightstar, and she's about to give birth.]]
** As a direct consequence of the above, Blue to Red also shatters the status quo HARD. M'gann and Conner are suspended from duty due to their actions the previous night, and after a week of reevaluation, the team, league and titans rosters are shuffled to accommodate the new vacuum in leadership. However, it's also during this time that Batman insensitively drops the bombshell of Raven's connection [[spoiler: to Trigon]]. Things proceed quietly for a month, but in this time, Batman and Blue Devil are captured [[spoiler: by a resurrected Kid Devil.]] Finally ready to complete their mission, Brother Blood sacrifices [[spoiler: Lilith]], and we find out that the bloods can control all their former victims. With preparations almost ready, Blood takes on Trigon's essence, and raises hell in Jump City. Blue Beetle finds out there are ways to turn the others back to normal after blasting the magic off of Scarecrow, but Blood is traveling the field, shiving anyone he can get his hands on. The Titans bravely try to fight back, but Blood absorbs all their damage, and Raven's attempts to destroy the control dagger [[spoiler: leads to Blood's end, but also grants the release of Trigon onto the world. Raven is wounded right before this, so the titans retreat, gathering a spell that allows for her to survive her "sacrifice". However, with Trigon on the loose and much of their backup defeated, the teen titans now have to flee the area, especially with both M'gann and Conner killed by his hands.]]
* WhamLine: After escaping the blood temple, the league has a hostage they rescued. "This is Terra."
** When Queen Bee suggests there was another mole in the titans, Terra asks if she thinks one of them would sell out the others. Bee's response? "You already did."
* WhatTheHellHero: Cassie gives this to Kaldur over him breaking an innocent boy's arm rather than letting her or Blue Beetle interrogate him.
** Conner, Raven and Terra all let Garfield have it when his anger at Queen Bee had him angrily say that M'gann's "not my mom."
** Batman gives one to Conner and M'gann for going into public hostile super villain territory without orders or backup. He also gives one about the Titans's seeming lack of professionalism while together.
*** Which prompts Cissie King-Jones to bite back at the League, saying their way of things doesn't have to be the only way, and they're just being stiffs to the Titans helping people their way.
** [[spoiler: Raven's]] reveal got quite a few heads turning, wondering how she could be connected to [[spoiler: The Bloods]].
* TheWorfEffect: There's no clearer sign of worfing when the bloods can shrug off attacks like nothing. For instance, Brother Blood withstood attacks from Blue Beetle, Robin and Green Arrow like it was nothing, and is also unshakable when hit by Green Lantern Energy.
** Then of course there's the ultimate Worf demonstration: Dr. Fate LOSES to [[spoiler: Trigon in the flesh.]] Considering even when [[WorfHadTheFlu Dr. Fate was weakened or under someone else's control]] he was still a pain in the neck to deal with, this quickly establishes that conventional means of fighting [[spoiler: Trigon]] aren't going to work.
* YoureNotMyFather: A variation occurs when Garfield, angry at Queen Bee, tells his surrogate mom M'gann that she's not his mom.
* YoungerAndHipper: Raven is described as being around Beast Boy's age of 15 rather than her older depictions. Also, Kyle Rayner. Here, he's the team's age rather than the adult from the comics.
!!Young Justice Thanksgiving contains examples of the following tropes:
* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: A semi-stated reason for why Garfield, Tara and Rachel went to the trouble of creating a thanksgiving feast for their extended family.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: The future of The Light is showcased in the very last "vinette", as the last and loneliest Thanksgiving feast of all is Lex Luthors. Him and [[spoiler: his daughter]].
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Exploited. On his first outing with his parents fighting street crime, Carter uses this to scare the thief out of his mind.
* {{Squick}}: Terra finds out what kind of milk M'gann gives to Carter.
